We took our food home and ended up throwing everything away. We had pork lo mein and general tsos chicken. Both had a very weird taste after a few bites in. We asked if the egg rolls were pork and the cashier said 'sure' (it was shrimp when we got it). Chinese food in Odenton can be hit or miss. Some of the best looking facilities aesthetically, I've found, have served some of the worst that I've had & then I've encountered seedy looking establishments that serve award winning dishes. To me, China Sea falls in the middle. The restaurant isn't terrible looking, they have all of your traditional American style Chinese dishes & they are pretty efficient. My go to is always the general tso's and the wife gets either the Hunan Chicken or Szechuan & we are never disappointed. Is it the best I've ever had? So I ordered off Uber eats. Got the Sweet & Sour chicken combo with and egg roll. 4 pc chicken wings and a chicken lo main. The Lomein was so mushy and tasteless and the Fried rice in the combo was crunchy and under cooked or old. Ended up only eating the chicken out of the entire $40 worth of food. This place use to be good but it has gone down hill. I don't lie how they act like they can't give extra duck sauce as if they don't have box loads of it in the back. Used to be one of my go to spots in my Fort Meade days and sadly it is now one of those places that never went back to normal after the lockdowns. No more buffet. No more dine in. Just a walled off counter to order. They were kind of rude to me, and VERY rude to a guy behind me. Gave off a standoffish atmosphere. The Singapore noodles were good though. Why I liked this restaurant: 1.) The General Tso's was crispy and lightly sauced, and not soggy and drowning in a container full of sauce. 2.)The Egg Rolls were fried to a crispy, and not bursting full of grease. 3.)The Wonton soup was flavorful, and full of wontons. 4.) The chicken wings were a good size, and fried well. 5.) We got a free Shrimp Fried Rice, because we spent $20.00 So many times I've gotten food from chinese carry outs, and it ended up being a lazily prepared, greasy version of something I couldn't possibly consider chinese food with rice underneath it. So when the family decided on chinese food my initial thought was let's just order Mai Dragon. We know we like it, and we know it'll be good, but nah! She wanted a more traditional carry out, and I completely understood, because I've longed for some good carry out food for a minute. Long story short, we ended up coming to this location, and I'm happy to say that we weren't disappointed. Best general TSO chicken in the area! I have tried a few other types of food here but that it is my favorite!

They're super fast, so the food is hot. Thing's that are supposed to be crispy are actually crispy, instead of soggy like most other Chinese Delivery spots. The prices are about average. Only down side is they don't start delivering until 4pm. read more

This is one of my go to Chinese takeouts for a quick lunch buffet. They are not big and grand, having only two steam tables. But their food is consistently good and freshly replenished during the lunch hours. I highly recommend the General Tso chicken, it is still crispy even after being in the sauce. And their sauce is on the lighter side with a pleasantly sweet taste unlike a lot of others that have an overly sweet thick syrup. Another favorite is the seafood and vegetables. They seem to know a lot of folks come pick out all the shrimps, so they put in extra so everyone always gets some even if you aren't one of the first to arrive. Finish things off with a fresh Chinese donut and it's nap time back at the office... Hope my boss isn't reading! The facility is dated and their primary focus is takeout, but the family that runs everything keeps the place clean an provides friendly service. Looks like this place mainly does take out orders, but we ate in-house. The food rates a little above most takeout Chinese places I've been, including the damn Panda. We got General Tso's chicken and sesame chicken. Both dishes have a tendency to be bathed in a syrupy sweet glaze and be super heavy on the bread-y coating, but the sauce and breading were surprisingly good at China Sea. Just a little sweet and vinegary, and the breading wasn't heavy, but was definitely no tempura either, lol. This place is right outside the Fort Meade gate, so I'm sure we'll be back. read more

Based on the mixed reviews I really wasn't sure of what to expect but I was very pleasantly surprised. I called to place an order for take-out and asked if they could make the beef and snow peas into a combo instead of the pepper steak and onions that was offered on the menu but they weren't able to accommodate me, however....they said they would throw in a large shrimp fried rice to make up for it. That was totally unnecessary but very appreciated. I ended up ordering the General Tso's Chicken, Pepper Steak & onion and Shrimp Chow Mein combo's, a small order of Steak & Snow Peas and an order of the Crab & Cheese Wontons. The prices were cheap, portions were large, the food was hot, fresh and very good and the service was fast. I don't think I would sit down and dine at the actual restaurant (it was a hole in the wall and a bit depressing) but I will certainly order take-out from there again. I'm a fan! read more

This is my (& my husband's) go-to Chinese restaurant in the area. Our favorites are Beef w/ Garlic Sauce, Beef & Broccoli, Hunan Beef (spicy), and the steamed dumplings. Their shrimp toast, although greasy, is really delicious (I always feel guilty after eating it, but can't help myself). They have lunch specials (usually 11am-3pm) & combinations (with egg roll, egg drop soup, & fried rice). Most of their entrees are great, but their fried rice combos need improvement... I usually grab a family dinner to go from here when I'm pressed for time befor dinner. It's close to the base we live on and the service is fairly quick. They customize almost any dish to your liking. I've ordered pepper steak, house mei fun, egg rolls, and crab meat and cheese fried wontons. I'm used to sweet and sour sauce coming with wontons and that's not the case here. Just give them a reminder and you'll be squared away. Our food is always delicious. If you spend $30, you get a shrimp fried rice free which we always manage to get. read more

Called the place and they said that they canceled our order already but yet they never called to tell us. I ordered food from this place & while I was chewing a bite of my egg-roll something felt very hard, when I took it out to check it was a piece of metal. When I called & asked to speak to the manager it took forever for them to understand & finally when I spoke with someone & let her know what I found in my food she said "oh, its probably from the metal sponge we use to scrub/clean the pots". Then she asked "you want credit? I can give you 3 free egg-rolls next time you order" That is not what I was looking for, why would I order from that place again? A group of people, along with myself, decided to take a lunch break at China Sea Restaurant. The group was all telling me how good this place was and how I should try it. After coming here to eat, I just don't believe the hype. Public Enemy status. China Sea has a lunch buffet special where you pay about $6.30/person. However: most.limited.food.selection.ever. After looking at the food available, I maneuvered into position to get the following: beef & broccoli, orange chicken, breaded shrimp, fried rice, beef Teriyaki stick, and a piece of cake. Well, the cake was last, on a different plate. Everything was edible, and I'll just leave it at that. We did have a waiter, who did a good job making sure our group had drinks and other amenities available. The environment seemed pretty dead in here as well; dark, quiet and uninspired. With that being said, people were still coming right on in. Must be the egg drop soup? Overall, China Sea Restaurant is OK for lunch, that's it. The narrow selection of food and the lack of environment bring this place down. Lesson learned today kids: don't believe the hype. read more
