It was okay. I placed the order while on-site. I was given enough time to decide before my order was taken. The food was ready in less than fifteen minutes. I arrived shortly after they opened, so it wasn't crowded. The ambiance was standard based on my carry-out experiences. There was some seating. The decor was minimal. Based on taste and presentation of the food, I would return and perhaps try something different. Service was fast and friendly. They gave me all the condiments, utensils and plates I had requested. Although she did hesitate and said I'd eat straight out the bowl. Clean area with tables but it was too hot inside to dine; it seemed like ac was down. Lunch special was priced fairly; lunch bowl with fried rice and meat and can of soda for about $10. But the rice and chicken was slimy; between every spoon of food and the bowl was a string of goo. There's a difference between it being saucy and slimy. I don't know if it's the chicken or rice that was bad. The whole restaurant was extremely hot, and this may have contributed sliminess. Either way, it worked better than fleet cleanse. read more

We absolutely love this place! It's become our weekly Chinese pickup place. Today we got a chicken with broccoli, wonton soup, and a S26 Chef special, which is an amazing dish that comes with everything: shrimp, roasted pork, beef and vegetables on top of soft steam noodles, served with a side of crispy chicken. Everything was delicious, each dish is big enough for 2 or 3 servings, the owners are always helpful and friendly. I went in here since it was a couple of doors down from Sushi Q (if I have the correct place). I ordered take-out but was super surprised by the cost of the Vegetables dish. But I went with it and really enjoyed it. So I stopped by again and tried their General Tsaos chicken but that dish did not agree with me. I spent some time in the bathroom. I likely will return and try another dish just to see if maybe it was my reaction to it being fried. But maybe I should stick to the mixed vegetables from now on? read more

I've ordered here a few times, love their pork lo mein!! It's one of the best lo mein dishes I've ever had!! In my picture is the leftover portion after my husband and I both each had a serving. I normally order a large and can get 3-4 meals out of it. Every time I order the lo mein they overfill the carton :) Wonton soup is really good too! The not so good: general tso chicken and hot and sour soup. My husband ordered the chicken and said he didn't like it all, and it was soggy. I don't like general tso chicken so I didn't try it myself. Their hot and sour would've been good, but it wasn't hot (spicy) at all :/ I still really like this place and regularly order from here, please give them a shot! read more

Very much a quintessential takeout joint and probably the best I've found in the area - reminds me a lot of the places around town growing up in Central NJ. Small, family owned takeout counter, the people working there are always really nice and friendly and I have never had trouble with the order. The lunch specials are massive for the price - I ended up having about 5-6 meals out of one a few weeks ago. Dumplings are the tasty thicker kind I like, the wonton soup is more wonton than soup which is incredible, and their roast pork lo mein is just perfect, exactly what you want when ordering Chinese take out. Their fried rice is also very good. Everything they make is made fresh on order as well. I have yet to have anything that was disappointing or I didn't like. This place is quickly becoming a staple for us and we are so glad we found it. One of the few places around that I think really delivers that kind of excellent old-school simple takeout. read more

This was some of the best Chinese takeout I've had in the area! They give good sized portions for the price, they have quality egg rolls, and the dumplings are . We ordered 4 dinner combos, all different which came with pork fried rice and an egg roll. Also got an order of steamed dumplings. Food was ready in ~25 minutes, and it was 100% worth waiting an extra few minutes once I arrived. Sauces are flavorful, fried rice was perfectly cooked, and again: get the dumplings! Can't wait to keep coming back here. It's a super tiny place, there's like 2 tables inside. I got bourbon chicken that tasted like bbq spare rib sauce not the bourbon chicken I was expecting but it was good. The fried rice was good and not oily at all, which was a big plus. We been here prior years ago I forgot how it was. Gave it a second chance August 16, 2020 due to good yelp reviews. The lady who picks up the food speaks decent English. She is patient. She repeats your order back to you so nothing is left behind. The kitchen you can see from the counter. It was clean. Everybody wore masks. The cashier / lady who picked up the phone was pleasant in person. Basic chinese food. We ordered veggie fried rice, 1 beef szechuan, 1 hunan shrimp, shrimp lomein, and 1 crab rangoon. I wish the fried rice had a tad bit more soy sauce. I also didn't like the type of rice they used. I don't recall eggs in the fried rice. The substitute fried rice we got for $1.25 fried rice instead of white rice was better instead our veggie fried rice. I also didn't like how they packaged the lo mein in a traditional paper Chinese carton. I wish they used a plastic dish. It was messy to dish out the lo mein. I would definitely go back. Next time I ordered fried rice I'll ask for extra soysauce. Maybe that will help. Ill try the eggrolls next time as well. 5 stars for cleanliness and positive attitude! read more

Super mediocre, I'm disappointed. I ordered Szechuan beef (lots of veggies: ok cool. Flavor: mediocre, mild spice. No mala) and "coconut" shrimp (which I'm pretty sure is just triple battered and fried shrimp in old oil, then tossed in mayonnaise and a little sugar... ate 2 shrimp and have no desire to eat anymore. There is zero coconut flavor--not much flavor at all apart from the off-putting flavor of the breading on the shrimp). $28 for these two dishes. If they tasted good, it would be plentiful for a family, but sadly it just feels like a waste of money to me. Bummer read more

They had a huge bowl of halfway cooked chicken UNCOVERED that they were using for most of the chicken dishes sitting by the REGISTER.. when someone ordered a dish that needed chicken (like general Tso's) they walked over to the bowl and grabbed a few pieces and threw it in the wok. My husband and I have gotten take-out from here twice. The restaurant is about 10 minutes from us and has just about all of the typical American Chinese fare that you could ask for. The first time that we ordered from this restaurant, we were quoted a 25 minute wait time. When we arrived to pick-up our food, 30 minutes had already passed by. I ended up waiting an additional 15 minutes and watched them prepare our food. My husband had a similar experience when we picked up food for us last Friday. We were once again quoted 25 minutes and he arrived after 25 minutes had expired, only this time there was a very full restaurant of people waiting for their food. I attribute the restaurant being busy to the fact that it was a Friday night. My husband waited another 25 minutes for our food, once again watching them prepare it. The food was well-prepared and a good temperature. We ordered general tso chicken, boneless spare ribs, and pork fried rice. The total came to about $20 which is very reasonable given that we both had plenty of leftovers. I would recommend this restaurant if you're looking for good American Chinese food in the Ellicott City area, I would just suggest that you tack on an additional 20 minutes or so to the estimated waiting time that they provide you! read more

I had a dinner combo which comes with pork fried rice and for me it was a little dry and had a little crunch. The steamed rice that came with my egg fu yung was also off, too mushy. The chicken with my combo dinner was good and with the rice was a good bite of food. I would go back, rice can't always be perfect especially when made in mass quantity for a dinner rush. Just checking out my new neighborhood and had a taste for some classic American style Chinese food - the standard 4 wings & fried rice & a side of fried wontons. To be fair - I only get Chinese take-out 2/3 times a year SO I definitely need it to be on point. Secondly, the cooks also make the difference - so depending on the shift, that too can be huge in the flavor and preparation of the food. This wasn't the best Chinese take-out yet not horrible. The portions are quite plentiful. It's just me eating tonight and I'm not a big eater. I wish places like this had kid sizes cause that's what I'd get - anywhooo. The fried rice was a bit mushy & greasy and had a sweet taste to it. I always add egg & they did but it wasn't much. The chicken - eh ok, just add hot sauce or salt, pepper, ketchup and you'll be fine. The wontons were my biggest disappointment - typically it's pork inside & perhaps it is still. The dipping sauce wasn't thick & no bits of pineapple or anything noticeable. It is quite bland. I resolved to using the duck sauce for the one wonton I ate. I miss my Chinese spot in DC but errr that's too far and I'll keep looking locally. Perhaps their traditional entrees are better - the American standard one, is just ok.
