I decided to try this place because my regular nail place kept dissapointing me and I was ready to find a better one. I think this is it! Kim, the owner, is friendly and professional. I should mention, they are cash only, but there is an ATM on the same block. The shop is small and my impression is that they mostly do manicures, because as a another review mentioned, they have comfy chairs for pedicures, but no attached foot tub, so they use buckets instead. Some people may prefer that though, for cleanliness. The unisex bathroom is also remodled and very clean. The shop is air conditioned and there is a big screen TV that had Antiques Roadshow playing! Anyway, I was very pleased that when I came for my appointment, Kim was ready to take me right away. So nice to not get the run around that many nail shops give you. I had asked for a fill for my acrylic nails with gel polish ($30), but as she was buffing them down they started to pop off, so since I was a new customer, Kim offered to give me a full set for the same price. I thought that was extremely nice of her, because budget is a concern for me. She assured me that she would do a better job than the cheap-y place I used to go to, and I definitely think she did! I came here today because one of my best friends has been coming here for the past 15 years. Now mind you, being an avid Yelper - I was a little worried before coming here - however my best friends convinced me to be open minded to a place with subpar reviews. I walked in and there were three very nice and friendly ladies working - I was taken in immediately. I asked for a gel manicure - which is always such a hit or miss - I asked Vicky, a few times for color suggestions - and told her how I wanted my nails to be bright and so often nail colors seem to be dull. I chose my color and then we got started and done - she did SUCH a terrific job - double coated my gel polish - made sure my manicure was very clean and done well. I've gotten gel manicures at other places before - and to be honest with you - this is the absolute best spot to date - Vicky really listened to what I wanted and delivered. The price was also only $25!!!! I tipped $5 because I was so happy with the job well done! This might just become my go-to nail spot! read more

Even though I had a horrible experience 6 years ago I decided to give them another try! There were two employees, one was helping a lady while another customer waited so she put me in a massage chair and told me to wait. After about 20 minutes she decided to help me, I wanted a pedicure with french. Looking at the price list it said $17 for a pedicure, when she was done an hour later she charged me $27!! Save your money & dont bother getting service from this shop! They lack more than they offer. They're short staffed, dont accept walk-ins, appointment only, don't take credit cards, cash only & they speak poor English. Is hard to explain to them what you want, they try to persuade to go with what they "think" looks better. They charge $5 for each nail sticker & $5-7 to fix a broken nail. WOW! They owner is rude & has bad attitude! She's rude to walk-in customers & those calling on the phone about availability but she'll sit next to the appointment book & answers the phone each time it rings to schedule services for people she knows. Stops doing your nails & keeps you waiting. She translates for the other employee to customers, who does mostly pedicures. The owner books services higher in price for herself so she's always booked. The most disrespectful thing is when she speaks vietnamese to her employee talking s***t about you, infront of you. Her tone sounds shady & high pitch. I was a loyal customer for 8 months until I just couldn't take it anymore. I no longer wish to support their business! read more

Never go here. If the other review from that poor girl doesn't scare you, read this. I went in here after work, around 5 pm on a weekday. The manager fit me in, and nearly the entire time I was sitting there get my nails done, she was either talking on the phone, or yelling in Vietnamese at another employee. It was the the furthest thing from relaxing, which I'm sure is one of the reasons women like to go get pampered. Sort of defeated the purpose. Maybe it was the fact that she was paying attention to everything except my nails, but they ended up crooked, and I had her fix a couple. It was $20 with a tip when I was through. Later that night at home, my nails chipped!! No joke. I was so mad I didn't go back there (as I probably should have, to have them fix it) , I just re-did my nails at home and swore that I would never go back. The first time I went to China Silk, my acrylic set was done very well. I bleed easily and in the past getting acrylics was always painful and the people were rough. The woman in China Silk was the first one ever to be quick but gentle and NEAT. I don't know her name, unfortunately. My nails looked great--the best they've ever looked-- and I paid 30. I went back today for acrylics and a different woman did them. I was expecting good service like last time but she seemed VERY rushed and was sloppy! My nails fell off! She made many of my fingers bleed and even ripped my nail off the skin of my middle finger and acted like it was nothing! I have a high pain tolerance but it still stung like crazy and is STILL sore...all my nails are. Typing is sore. She was soooo rough with the filing and didn't care. Her paint job is so sloppy and horrible; I have nailpolish globs under my nails. So uneven. Probably THE worst my nails have ever looked. I still had to pay 30! No apologies for my bleeding fingers! My thought when I walked out: NEVERMIND this place! read more

I'm shocked by the negative reviews prior to mine. I have been going to this place to get my nails done (on & off) since 2004 and I just love them! I think the reason I love this place so much is the style they do your nails. They put the acrylic on thick and it makes them look curvier (obviously not the "natural" look) no other nail salon will do that for you..even if you beg and plead! The ladies there are super nice and they will stay late to finish and not even give you grief about it. I noticed that one of the other girl below said they don't accept credit cards which is a bummer yes, but, I don't know of any nail salons that do (or at least ones that charge less than $40 for a full set) I recommend them! Went there today for a pedi, umm... it was okay. The ladies were nice but polish selection is so very lacking ( could not find very many or any opi or china glaze products). No massage chairs or jet foot tubs and it was just plain all around. I paid 20 bucks (cash only) and few more dollars for tip. I left with a pedi that I could of done at home. When I did get home I notice I had spots of polish on my toes and it was not painted on very smoothly. I don't think I would go back unless all other shops were closed! read more

Okay so this place doesn't look great but the ladies are hilarious and they did a great job on my white shallac.. It was fast and she massaged my arms afterward. Just FYI it's cash only so I had to walk to the ATM after the fact. I haven't gotten a pedicure there because they use buckets.. The mani was good! Waaaay better than bollinger nail salon which is where I used to go for 3 years. read more

I was recommended to China Silk Nails by my cousin who is a regular there, Kim did a full set of nails for me for my Vegas trip which I LOVED and I also got a pedicure. The price was reasonable, the work was great & I was very impressed that when it came time for my pedicure they ONLY use sterilized tools. What a lucky day when I wandered into China Silk Nails. The atmosphere struck me immediately. What a serene, calm place. The three manicurists are so pleasant and friendly. They are also very professional and do an AMAZING job. The equipment is clean and state-of-the-art. they have a good selection of products. I been coming to china silk for over 1 years the service is fair very personable compared to many other nail shops, very hard to get appointment for a shop that is never full. the pricing has gone up a bit and they don't even offer a lot of services nor do nail art, designs etc. This is a great place to go if you like traditional nail. read more

Why is it so hard to find a great place in Concord to get your nails done!! I went to this shop years ago when it had a different owner and it was excellent. Flash forward 10 years....it's horrible!! First off...they don't accept credit cards, I had to drive to the Bof A up the street to get some cash. I wear the pink and white gel nails and needed a fill. The owner helped me. She proceeded to start ripping off my nails, it hurt so bad I was about to cry!!!! On the beginning of the torture of my second nail I told her that this wasn't going to work. Come to find out, she was trying to remove my nails to do a full-set. I'm not sure if she was shady....but I reminded her that I needed a fill. Let's just say that it was a very painful experience overall. She pulled out that mechanical nail gizmo and pushed down so hard I could feel it through the nail. I wanted to walk out a couple of times but couldn't because it was to late to go to another shop and I didn't want my nails to look jacked up. When she finished they looked ok.
