The prices are okay but are higher. A lot of things are expected. It's located in a crappy strip mall. This looks basic from outside. A bit better once getting inside. This is actually a full service restaurant. It's about $9 for an entree. We got the Garden Vegetables. It's a basic combination of common things to be honest. Wow is all I can say. The food is absolutely delicious. I love the flavor of the egg rolls. !! Amazing apps. We ordered the app combo what a deal. Huge portions of BBQ rib and delicious sliced pork. The chicken wings were dynamite as well. My friend ordered the sesame chicken and told me it was pretty good. I had the pepper steak and really enjoyed it. I knocked a star off because the place was pretty much a dive inside. Waitress was very nice and attentive. Surprisingly slow inside for such awesome food. The best beef fried rice around! Always good and you get a lot of food for the money. Since our beloved Golden Buddha closed down, we have been on the hunt for a new Chinese take out joint, and China Star delivers on flavor and value! The won ton soup is flavorful and satisfying, and the sweet and sour chicken is as good as i've ever had! I've never had a bad experience. Food is always hot and fresh. Reasonably priced. Fast service. I'd give 5 stars but they don't give free egg rolls when you order $30 or more like other places, and their egg rolls are really good. read more

The food is lacking flavor. It is salty And and over sauced. I order the Szechwan shrimp and it came with an oyster sauce poured all over it. It wasn't spicy. Save your money go some where else. They didn't have any hot tea. What's a Chinese restaurant without oolong or jasmine tea? The fries chicken wings had no flavor and the egg roll was salty it needed some ginger flavor. Garbage! Their food is garbage! Although I have not be there in many, many years now, I know for a fact that it is still garbage. I have a friend that will occasionally go there when his money is low and buy their lunch special. He will bring that stinky smelling food to my house to eat it, and all while he is eating it, he is complaining how nasty it is. It looks disgusting, too. The smell along will want to make you puke. Once they finally realized that someone did take my order and that it was an error on their part, they did not apologize and continued to be rude and rushed me. There are very few places that will deliver in Country Club Hills, so that is why I call China Star. They are ok most of the time, overall, but today I ordered three lunches and something was wrong with the Shrimp in the Sweet and Sour Shrimp. It's like something was wrong with the batter, like it was made with spoiled ingredients. I called, and the woman on the phone didn't want to accept responsibility. She just said other people ordered it. But then I asked her if they actually ATE at your restaurant, or took it home where they then ate it there. She didn't say anything, then. I just didn't want to cook, which is why I called China Star. But many restaurants are struggling, and don't think much of using ingredients that are not fresh. There have been some questionable meals over the years I have had from them, but this one made me tell the woman they just lost a customer. I'm not going to get sick and go to the hospital. This place is now closed, thank goodness. In the last few years the food here had taken a turn for the worst. I think they began serving food they hadn't sold the day before. Everything looked and tasted bland, underseasoned and overcooked to the point of being mushy. I will never go here again.. I phoned in my ordered specifically said i wanted my lobster sauce on the side.. I was told ok.. I get there its all packaged together i asked for them to take it out n i would pay for it to b separate in a plastic container i was told they cant do that with the plastic containers sitting right there .. With that being said i get home the sauce is all in the bag n all over my rice n i hate wet food n the crab ragoons were wet like the inside should b stiff not loose reminded me of coleslaw.. I went there because the food was good at one time but it is now disgusting and the customer service is worse. I brought my food home and found it was not what i ordered and called back. The little clerk argued with me that it was right and said he had tasted it!! The wings had been fried in old oil and I plan to call the health department, A few weeks ago while I waited, we talked politics and he said "we don't vote because we don't care! This food and the service here is horrible. The management is very rude and is not concerned about pleasing their customers.
