Shrimp egg foo young lunch special

For some reason she doesn't like me probably because I say no msg not realizing she doesn't have it. I'm a big fan of the lunch specials here. She's typically friendly just don't make the mistake I made.

Shrimp and broccoli and Crab Rangoon taste very good. Carryout Service was great but the restaurant décor appeared dated.

Do not listen to the negative reviews, this is a fantastic small (family owned?) Thai restaurant with the kindest employees, who are so attentive to your enjoyment of the dishes and clearly take pride in their work. My husband and I agree that this is in our top three restaurants in Chicagoland, and we are big foodies! The reason it makes top three is because as casual, close and affordable as it is, we often say we've never had a dish here that was a miss. It is reliably great and thoughtfully prepared food every time, no matter what we order, and so convenient to access as someone who lives in the burbs. The beef salad is fantastic and our go-to, but we love everything (and I mean everything) we've tried. Please give this place your business, I would love to see them stick around and prosper for many years to come :) Cute quaint seating area, great service, fantastic food, and plenty of options.

The noodles (Pad Woon Sen) were old and so they clumped together in a sticky mess. The real problem, however, was the server never informed us that they were out of white rice, every dish was served with brown rice. How does a Thai place run out of white rice? No true Asian dish is ever served with brown rice. Never heard of it and it completely changes the taste of the accompanying entree. I won't change my rating as this may have been a one-off, we'll see on the next outing. A top rung thai restaurant that will match or surpass any in the city for down home authenticity. Crispy, crunchy and very good. Portion was very small in relation to the price. I had Pad See Ew whichbis a broad flat noodle w some broccoli, bok choi, and tofu in a sauce. The portion was moderate in relation to the price. It was unbelievably and *overbearing* in the sodium content. It was basically a salt bomb, sadly. Very few dainty sized vegetables, decent portion of tofu and plenty of noodles. Since I was totally alone, I did share my concern about the sodium to my server in a kind and polite manner. Her response was there's another restaurant about 5 minutes from here and that I should go there and eat. She spoke in a polite manner, matter-of-fact demeanor. So, I will not be returning. $30 for food and I paid 20٪ for the tip even though I was offended by her reply. The value was not there for vegetables. Restaurant has lovely ambiance and is sparkling clean. I was there for about 50 minutes and was the only patron the entire time. Not worth $36!

My friend and I strolled into Thithi's on a Tuesday evening and it was poppin! The bar was full and there were several tables filled with happy diners. Our server, who was friendly enough but seemed performative, came by and immediately asked for our drink and app orders. She didn't go over the menu or ask if we had any questions. Since I had already checked out the apps, we ordered the seafood crispy rolls and two iced teas. She came back and asked if we were ready to order---once again, she didn't ask if we had any questions. Since I was torn between the spicy bail catfish curry and the banana curry duck, I asked which one she would recommend. She said the catfish was very popular and highly recommended it, so I went with that. My friend ordered the beef tenderloin pho. Our seafood rolls arrived and they were very tasty, but could have used a touch of finishing salt. Soon after our entrees arrived. Well, she was right about the catfish, it was amazing!!! Very flavorful, with a thick and creamy, -curry cream sauce and tender chunks of catfish. The portion was huge and we were able to share it with plenty for me to take to lunch the next day. I tried my friend's pho and it was quite good. He loved it and polished off the huge bowl of phoey goodness. After looking at the dessert menu, the apple crisp with ice cream looked tasty so we ordered that to share. It was delicious. Now here comes the bill. My friend took a look, reached for his wallet and pulled out two, crisp $100 bills. A bell went off in my brain and according to my math, the bill should have been a little under $100, I mean, yeah, maybe all he had were those two hundos and needed to leave a tip, but something told me to ask him if they included gratuity. He didn't have his reading glasses on and asked me to take a closer look at the bill. Sure enough, they included gratuity. That's just shady business practice to me. Most restaurants nowadays have a written notice on the menu or the server will kindly tell you gratuity is included, but not at this place. He was pissed, because he was absolutely going to leave a nice cash tip. Even though the food was delicious and we both want to go back, it just left a bad taste in our mouths.
