I was in the area with my kids and we stopped here on the way home to pick up some dumplings. I remembered coming her years ago when my son attended SBU. We had a decent meal and I thoroughly enjoyed their soups and dumplings. I'm not sure if it's due to the pandemic but I feel like the quality of the food fell off. The have a small parking lot located in the rear of the establishment. They're a small restaurant but have plenty of seating. When we ate here the first time, they were extremely packed in the middle of the day but on this particular day, they were very empty. I arrived hoping to get a myriad of dumplings but unfortunately, they now only have three types: chicken, pork & leek, and pork & Chinese cabbage. I ordered two each of the chicken and the pork & leek, all pan-fried. I was going to order some pork buns as well but the guy taking my order said they would take 20 minutes to make. I declined because we still had to drive back home another 90 minutes. We ended up waiting over 30 minutes for the 4 orders of dumplings and I'm unsure as to why. If I would have known they would have taken that long I would have said forget it. I also ordered some frozen chicken dumplings and paid for them but was told they ran out. Instead of bothering with a refund, I just told them to sub the pork & leek dumplings. When we finally got our order, we rushed home. I warmed up the dumplings for dinner by steaming them for a couple of minutes, and served with some quick ramen, addicting cucumber and a dumpling sauce I had to make because they didn't come with any sauce at all. They were OK. They are filled quite nicely but the flavor is definitely not as I expected or remembered. The chicken dumplings we "meh" but the pork & leek tasted much better. A few of them tore open very easily. Regarding the establishment itself, they could do some cleaning in there. I know it's a college area restaurant but while we waited, we noticed a lot of concerning things. Their doors are utterly disgusting. They are painted white and it looks as though they've never been wiped down. There is so much grime and crud from people touching them. Neither bathroom had soap which is a HUGE red flag. If the staff also uses the bathrooms, who's washing their hands correctly, and how? I also saw one of the guys in the kitchen wipe his face with tissue and place it on a tray. He neither had gloves on or cleaned his hands afterwards. He legit, went right back to handling food and the pans. I'm sure many people don't really pay attention despite there being an open kitchen but since we were not wanting to wait there that long and we were wondering why our order was taking so long, we had all the time in the world to just observe. The dining area really isn't very clean and I would probably skip another visit in the future.

Delicious! I got the cabbage and beef meal and the pork and cabbage dumplings and it was all amazing. Though they don't have dumpling dipping sauce. It's either soy or chilli sauce for that. This is a big university take out place but you can eat here. Lots of Asian students and more traditional Asian food than American-Chinese food. This is an order at the counter and take home or eat at the table and bus your dishes but very good food and comfort food! Lots of students coming in to get dinner and either eat there or take out. Looking forward to trying other dishes here.

Trio of Spring Rolls cost a mere $2 without tax

Yelper Grub Adventures D. raves about this place. I could see why. The stick bean curd absorbed all the flavors that it was seasoned with: chili and sesame oil, as per my server Daniel. It is a cold appetizer that is made from dried tofu skin. Delicious! I cannot thank you enough for the recommendation, D. Now I will look for this chewy delight in any Asian restaurant that I patronize. I also ordered a trio of spring rolls. They were a crispy and tasty treat. Last time I came here, I devoured the beef sautéed noodle. It was succulent and prepared al dente. China Station is a Northern Chinese restaurant that specializes in hand pulled noodles. Black History Trivia: The first Africans in China arrived as gifts from the King of Kalinga in Java (pre-Islamic Indonesia) to the Tang emperor in 813 A.D. They were children who were treated as ornaments. Adult Africans were imported by Arab traders living in China. Some wealthy Chinese owned Black slaves and used them for hard labor or for work as doorkeepers. The Tang Dynasty's capital, Chang'an (present day Xi'an), was considered a golden age of cosmopolitan culture because foreigners redefined the Tang through dance, clothing, food, painting, religion and more. The Tang Dynasty ended in 907 A.D., leaving a legacy of racial integration. Yes, I got all this interesting info from Google, keyword: African slaves in China. Happy Lunar New Year everybody!!! It's the Year of the Tiger!!!! Let's all celebrate by eating some authentic Chinese food, lovingly prepared at the impressive China Station.

This spot is located in the middle of no where lol... it's disgusting never eat here! The 2 overweight brothers definitely put in that extra special seasoning, from touching raw foods & money without washing there hands, then handling your cook food for you to consume. They don't give a damn what they feed you. Everything is made with as poor quality ingredients as possible. Come on look how dirty the workers are. I have witnessed the cook wiping his nose with his hand, then grabbing the cook dumplings with his paws and placing it in a plate for a customer to eat. The health department so shut them down! The cook & the other cook aka cashier are the definition of Nasty & Dirty! I can guarantee they use the bathroom number 2, then touch all the food on propose, just so they can laugh inside, when they serve it to all the patrons that eat here! I have never seen a establishment like this! Like I said Long Islanders don't know shit about goods Chinese food! And that is me keeping it 100!!!

    Beef with rice noodle

This is the second time we are trying a Chinese restaurant here in Long Island. Having being spoiled of great authentic places in Queens, we decided to give this place a try and also taper our expectation at the same time. Price wise, it is definitely more expensive than ones in Queens, but onto the food. I got pork with dried bean curd with rice which also comes with vegetable and an egg. The rice portion was too much and price wise, it was about $14. My wife got the beef with rice noodle which didn't come in the big fat rice noodle and was more so the thin ones. My wife enjoyed it a lot. We also got order of fried dumplings. My only complaint is it could have been more fried. Also they didn't give any dumpling sauce. All in all, I would give this place a very strong 3 stars and will recommend based on today's visit. Will definitely visit this place again.

Really solid Chinese Noodle house nearby Stony Brook University and I have so far visited twice. The price is pretty good, most menu items 10.50 or under; since this place is more of a noodle house I would suggest eating here rather than take-out. The Food: The food was really good, the noodles actually seemed handmade and you can see them make it in the open kitchen. Many places advertise as hand-pulled noodles while using instant ones, but this place is legit. The beef noodles in broth were really good, had it twice. The bok-choy pork bun wasn't very good and the menu mediocre outside of their hand pulled noodles. Anything Else: Service was fine and the food came out really fast. Beware of limited seating.

Shareable with up to 4-5 people with $8-9 per person. If each person gets a side of rice ($1.5), it is a filling meal. Super addicting taste!

Delivery Review: 1) as a business you are supposed to be clear about tip and total payment. I was not impressed with the clarity let alone the customer service. 2) they're not clear about what ingredients they add in their soups. You could be a vegetarian and still not know what broth you're consuming. 3) I ordered a fishball handpulled soup extra spicy. It was hysterically spicy on a cold night so I was satisfied. However, there is so much oil that you cant consume the broth alone. Loved the noodles. 4) I ordered their scallion pancake and chicken dumplings. Both are low quality. The pancake was only refined flour in flat form. The skin of the dumplings are thick and inedible. They ask for a $5 tip for future notice. I believe they need to step up their game.

Beef noodle stir fry and a pork bun! Amazingly good and super fast.

Kick ass good! I stumbled on this place and I happen to be lucky or good and finding the home run eateries and this didn't disappoint. I love the photo menu above the counter top. I love the super busy open kitchen, you get great food and a show! Hand made dumplings and buns! If I were local I'd eat here a couple time a week! My noodle dish was out of this world amazing, and the portion was humongous. If you see this review and don't eat at this joint you will regret not trying one of the greatest Asian joints I've been too anywhere in the Country!

Not the best mapo tofu. Why would you put eggs and cabbage ?
    Jenny L.

Didn't like their food much at all. Ordered mapo tofu and it is not good at all. This isn't the right way to make it. Other food wasn't even good too. Fried rice was dry and chicken was so soggy. Only thing that's good here or ok is the buns. Disappointed and upset. This place also desperately needs AC. I was afraid the sweats of the chef will go in the food. It's like 100 and they really need to spend money on AC

    Kiki L.

Employees here are awful... I asked for a spicy tofu over rice, it was $8.25 before tax, and it also showing on their cashier machine. Then the cashier said $8.96. I asked "why your cashier machine showing $8.25 not $8.96. " He gave me a fierce glare, and said:"how do I know?" I said: if you didn't pay tax, then I would not pay you tax. He said:" do you want to see my tax bill" I said "Yes". Then he just give me some changes and leave me alone...... what attitude they have! I said "stay", waited on my couch for 10min, then he give a "carry" bag.... To be honest, the spicy tofu was awful, too much oil!!!

check your food before putting into your mouth :)

When we walked in, the restaurant felt run-down and it was freezing inside. It was so cold that my entire family kept our winter jackets on the whole meal ,I even had to keep my hood up. We noticed other diners were also wearing their coats, which says a lot. I repeatedly had to ask for hot tea just to stay warm. Service was also lacking. The waiter was inattentive, and despite the restaurant not being busy, no one came by to check on us or ask how the food was. As for the food: * The soup dumplings had almost no soup inside, and the dough was thick and heavy. * The egg and tomato soup was completely bland and had almost no flavor. One thing that may explain the high number of reviews: there's a QR code on the wall offering free bubble tea in exchange for leaving a review. That definitely makes the rating feel inflated. Honestly, if this restaurant were located in Flushing, it probably wouldn't last long given the level of competition and food quality standards there. Unfortunately, I can't recommend Red Tiger based on our visit
