Found this place through Yelp and we were very pleasantly surprised! The lunch specials are a fantastic value, under $20 total for my wife and I to get a cashew chicken and a kung pao chicken. Both tasted great (our favorite between the two was probably the kung pao) and a very good portion size for the price. Even came with an egg roll (pro tip, ask for sauce if you need it, since they don't give it to you by default). They shut down their seating area, so it's take-out only. The employees are super friendly, and they do have restrooms available. Wish we had one by us. Would definitely recommend! read more

I always get delivery, they are amazingly fast, the driver is always friendly (and even remembers us, which is a nice personal touch), and the food is amazing. Really reasonable pricing, especially with all the inflation going on lately they've had only minor price increases in the past several years. Not sure if you can give zero stars. From call in my to order the food to eating it was a horrifying experience. The girl that answered the phone answered the phone with Hello? With full attitude, btw. I had to ask if I had the right number, to going to pick up my order, I walked in to same girl screaming a coworker about something that needs to be charged. Not caring at all that I was standing there stunned into silence by her foul worded tirade. Then snapped at me what's your phone number? I give it to her, she slammed my order in front of me, sees that I am using a credit card and points to the card reader and says, you can add the tip there too..... I actually had to laugh out loud at that. The guy who brought the order out from the back looks like he hasn't washed his hair or bathed in the last 6 months and the entire place was filthy. Ridiculously over priced for over cooked Lo Mein. I should have just rejected the order once I walked into this filthy little hole. My husband ate it (shocker right?) Perfect greasy spoon. If your looking for a quick delicious bite to eat China Taste has American Chinese food done at its best. I am never disappointed with what I order. The General Tso's chicken, fried rice and Lo Mein are better than every where else if those are your go to. You're all going to think I'm crazy but this place makes the best chicken wings around. Let me start by saying that for your run-of-the-mill Chinese takeout, this place has decent food, but is overpriced. On comparative orders from other Chinese establishments, on average you can expect a moderate increase in price at this restaurant. With that aside...let me review my most recent order. The order was simple. Two orders of STEAMED chicken with broccoli with sauce on the side. That's all. How this managed to get messed up is incomprehensible. The order came and it was regular chicken with broccoli. There was baby corn in the order as well, and get this, no broccoli. So we called in... The incompetence of the person answering the phone was incredible. We had to explain numerous times what the problem was and she enlisted the help of the manager/owner to clear things up. After we explained what happened, the person now on the phone was seemingly irritated by the mere phone call and tried to blame us for ordering incorrectly and then retracted and said the employee who answered the phone must have misheard. In a normal transaction, you'd expect them to correct the problem and bring out the correct order...NOPE! They said they would only bring out our original order if we paid an additional $5.xx because there was a price difference between what they sent and what we ordered. Begrudgingly we paid as we didn't want the slurpy garbage they brought. We've frequented this restaurant many times and have ordered all of our Chinese food from this place. That now ends. Moved to Vernon at the beginning of the summer and so happy to have this as our go to Chinese food spot now. Everything is so fresh, feels home made from scratch. Impressively good Chinese take out. China Taste had some of the best General Tso's Tofu I've ever had that I went back for thirds! I also liked their wontons in peanut sauce, something I haven't seen before. I also liked their seafood stirfry and appreciated that they didn't skimp on scallops or shrimp. The China Taste Restaurant is in the Northeast Shopping Center - across from Subway and Dunkin Donuts, it is plain looking and with a name like China Taste, I was not quite sure what I was getting into. On my first visit I ordered General Tso's Chicken.. I was very pleased and since that visit I have not been disappointed. This is not a cornstarch slurry type of sauce, I loved the sweet, spicy garlic flavor. If it's incredibly convenient for you, then it's probably good enough for quick take-out, but I wouldn't choose China Taste for a meal out with family/friends. I'd also pass on the hot and sour soup. Food is really good but it is not worth dealing with the rude man who takes orders over the phone. He is consistently rude and impatient and treats you as though he is in a huge hurry and as though you are inconveniencing him. The food, however is very good, I just don't feel that it is that much better than any other Resteraunt in the area that it's be worth putting up with that jerk. This place is pretty standard suburban New England American-Chinese food, but it does it decently and consistently, and I've yet to find better in the area. We get take-out from here at least once a month, and hit the lunch buffet a couple times a year. We'd probably order delivery a few times a month if they'd delivery to our neighborhood but to my frustration they won't, even though we are closer than some neighborhoods they do deliver to. Our favorites are sesame chicken, crab rangoon, spring rolls and chicken wings. Decor and ambiance are standard suburban strip mall. Excellent choice for best-tasting Chinese. This Chinese restaurant has been in business for many years as far as I can remember as a child (over 25 years ago under the name Wongs Too). In my opinion, this is the best Chinese food in the Tolland/Vernon area. The dining area is small and quaint. They always answer the phone promptly and take out orders are typically ready in 15-20 minutes. I hope they never go out of business (I doubt they will any time soon). read more
