We have eaten here numerous times the last 5 years, it had always been really good, good wait staff, the owner was always there and very involved, excellent selection of beer. This last time, however, was terrible. My assumption is that it switched hands, the menu has changed and the food was terrible. I feel sorry for anyone in the food industry right now and can understand an off day so we will try this place again. One thing that actually is easy to fix, if you're a waiter or waitress you probably should call the customer "buddy". I'd give this place a solid B. The service is slow, and very, very white - shockingly white, even. The food is good, if the buffet selection is limited. The Crab Rangoons are great. The Chicken Curry is awesome! The Kung Pao Chicken is kinda blah. The mushrooms are very, very good. Tempura vegetable? Squishy, and the sauce is too sweet. Thai Basil Chicken - good if you get to it before it's been sitting out too long. Lions Head Meatball - juicy & flavorful, well herbed. Buffet sushi includes only: tempura shrimp and california roll, both good. All in all, a good all-around buffet. The decor is kind of adorable, there's an orange textured wall, cut wood screens, industrial metal chairs, and... well this place sort of looks like it's straight out of an Urban Outfitters catalog. Wow. We got there at the end of the buffet, but were planning on ordering from the menu anyway. We took a peek at the buffet, and there was a wide variety of choices. Much more than a lot of lunch buffets offer. We ordered miso soup and hot & sour - both were great. The hot & sour had the perfect blend of sour and spice. Tempura shrimp appetizer was crispy, and the egg roll was much better than the usually "fried cabbage wad" you get at most places. Also, extra points for their condiment platter having actual chili's instead of sriracha or cheap hot sauce along with the hot mustard and sweet & sour. Entree wise we went with sushi and Ma La beef. The sushi was good - we just got simple nigiri, but will try some signature rolls next time. I don't know what to say about the Ma La beef... There has to be some sort of voodoo ritual, Shaolin iron fist technique or something magical involved. The meat is so tender - it's better than many steaks that have cost me much more. You also get a good amount of meat along with the mushrooms and vegetables In a spicy, but not overly hot sauce. We can't wait to come back and try more. The Sichuan Udon looks fantastic... Everything and Everyone was friendly and helpful. This was my first visit so I basically told the young lady behind the bar to "Surprise Me" with a selection. She brought me the Rock & Roll Raw Sushi roll (it was absolutely delicious) and paired it with a fail safe Bud Light and the Buffet. This is a fabulous little find right near a few hotels on Millwood Pike in Winchester. The menu is quite varied with sushi, Chinese favorites, and some Thai as well. The food is as beautiful to look at as it is delicious to eat. I had the New Orleans roll, which was huge, the Cantonese fried noodles, which had a ton of meat & veggies. My husband, who is not an adventurous eater, had the orange beef, which was very tender. The decor is sleek, clean, & modern; the waitstaff is courteous, professional, & knowledgeable. I'm going to go with this place being just A-OK. The food was a tad better than ok, but service was amiss. Sushi rolls were very tasty (and spicy), but every time something came out, it seemed, our server was forgetting something (like chopsticks). It was almost like she was distracted, so much so, she dropped my rice and had to get another container of rice... not a huge deal, and to be redundant, she just seemed very distracted. Food - okay, some folks have suggested it's "authentic" - I tend to disagree. Atmosphere, okay. Easy to get to? Not if one is headed east on 17 and has to cross two very busy lanes of traffic out of a "median" turn lane. The driveway is easy to miss, thinking the next drive might be the entrance, but it's actually the exit to the bank next to it. We have been to this restaurant twice over the past two years. It is certainly not real Chinese food. It is very Americanized Chinese food and it's only fair. In spite of this, the restaurant is popular and there are lots of customers. Most folks in Winchester and Front Royal don't appreciate real Chinese food. My wife is Chinese and we have have been to Taiwan a number of times. We know what real Chinese food is. There is one restaurant in Springfield, VA that serves real Chinese food. I forget the name, but it's next door to Trader Joe's and close to Kmart. When we have gone there at least 90% of the customers were Asian. One way to tell if a restaurant serves real Chinese food is to check to see if they serve items that only Asians are likely to eat; for example, chicken feet, pork blood, duck tongues, intestines and whole fish including the head. There are lots of good real Chinese restaurants in Montgomery County, MD, where the Chinese restaurants are filled with Chinese customers. Chinatown in DC is pretty good, too. read more

Excellent Asian food, which we had been craving! Wanted to do take out, looked at the reviews and the menu, and placed an order. Phone person was very clear, asked all the right questions, asked for a description of our car, told us when to be there. Food was nice and hot when we got it home: Kung Pao chicken, fried rice, orange chicken, General Tao chicken, yellow curry with chicken, egg roll, white rice, and they gave us lots of sauce packets and fortune cookies. A wonderful dining experience! My husband and I were in town for a weekend getaway and a friend highly recommended the restaurant and it was fabulous. We ordered drinks (Thai Basil Mojito and A Zombie) both exceeded our expectations. Our appetizers were my husbands go to Crab Rangoon and we also had the Crispy Yummy which was absolutely amazing, by far one of my favorite apps ever!! The Rangoon was delish as well. I also had a cup of Hot & Sour Soup, Best Ever, loaded with veggies and other yummy goodness. We tried one sushi toll, the Fresh Roll which says it all. Our Entrees were Salt and Pepper Shrimp and The Chinese Steak? (I believe, it was a strip steak). I usually do not like chinese restaurants abroad because those offer really poor flavor variety and too far from real chinese food in China which could just be amazing. This place is really good (not only for chinese food by the way) and offer some really tasty meals. I m actually impressed and especially by the fact they use only fresh green beans (they actually were prepping in plain sight). The buffet is really good and chicken curry as well as the sushi were really fresh and excellent. A very good reference for asian food. Please continue to do this great job.
