We tried this place because of the great reviews n the birria tacos. Note- they ran out of the birria by the time we arrived at 4pm on a Sunday. We ordered the chips with guac, salsa and queso- all phenomenal. The guac was the best I've had! Since they were out the birria we ordered a steak torta, steak quesadilla and chrorizo tacos. Everything was fantastic- steak was seasoned well. As we were finishing up, the owner said he made more birria and gave us two free tacos!!! Best birria ever!!!

This would have been a 5 star review if not for the water. My son and I asked for water with our meal. We were charged $2 for each bottled water, which is fine if I were ordering bottled water. We were not told that water was an extra charge. This chicanery removes 1 star from this review. Chinelos Taqueria only has 7 tables, most of their business is carry out, so I can understand the charge for water. What I can't understand is why we were not told the water was an extra charge. We started with Guacamole and chips ($6.95). A decent amount of homemade guacamole with cilantro, onions, and just a hint of tomato. I ordered the Steak Burrito ($12.95). This is the first burrito I've had here in Florida that was NOT mostly beans and rice! My son ordered the Steak Fajitas ($18.95). Plenty of meat, 3 different sautéed peppers and onions. My advice: Order carry out. The food is great and at a decent price.

Very solid spot for tacos! No frills, fast and friendly service. We would definitely come back and try the other menu items (burritos, bowls, etc).

This is real Mexican food as I remember it from 20 years in Los Angeles. Tacos made the correct way.

By far the BEST Birria Tacos I have had in the Tampa area. Small cafe inside but well worth it, service was prompt friendly and fast. Started with Chips and Trio of dips, fresh guac, queso and fresh salsa. Also tried the Steak Fajitas, again phenomenal! All melas come with fresh rice and beans. Try this place, you wont be disappointed!

This is the most authentic Mexican food I have found since moving to Pinellas County 10 years ago! It was phenomenal. I got the Birria tacos, my husband the steak quesadilla and we got the chips and queso. Everything was amazing! We will be going back to try more on their menu.

It's just a small restaurant kind of hard to find. The server was sorta nice but he was saging and had an AirPod in the entire time. He had a hard time hearing us but that's fine he spoke good English but better Spanish. There wasn't any soft drinks but in a plastic water bottle. Very little staff but the cookers were hard at work. The decorations were okay they were in random places and didn't fit in some spaces kind of much. I had turned around a he was hitting his vape so that's not good the bathrooms were a mess needed some cleaning up but had good amenities. Kind of a weird smell but that's fine. I got the asada bowl it was good just sorta small would've wanted another on top. Overall okay but there is potential

Mom and Pop Mexican restaurant. The food is tasty and the prices are reasonable. However, they don't offer tab water, but bottle water is $2. Minus 1 star for that.

We saw some great reviews and thought we would stop in for lunch after leaving the airport. It is tucked away in a small business area. The place is nothing fancy and had limited seating but the food was delicious. I had the burrito de carne asada. It was large size with some chips and green salsa. It was stuffed with wonderfully seasoned meat, beans, and rice. My wife had the asada tacos and they were great. Our server brought us some hot salsa and a creamy jalapeño sauce in squeeze bottles. Both of those sauces were amazing. I believe the gentleman who stopped by our table was the owner and he really wanted feedback on the sauces/food. If you enjoy authentic Mexican food with just enough spice, this is the place.

    The Tres Leches was wonderful!

We were looking for some great authentic food for lunch and we found this gem! The service was excellent and the food was amazing!

We wanted to eat something that would be filling, comforting, grab a few drinks but not necessarily need a whole sit down experience. So we stumbled upon Casita Taqueria. Thanks to the other awesome reviews, we knew this was the place to go! It literally feels like a casita when you walk in. They have lots of outdoor seating, picnic tables and such. Inside had a bit less seating (especially when it's raining and most of the people want to stay indoors). Either way, we found a table for 5 in no time. The ordering is easy, you go up to the register, order what you want and then they bring the food to you. No servers no waiters just easy. Highly recommend ordering a pitcher of margarita, we got the spicy jalapeño one and it was so refreshing! The food was delicious, freshly made, quick, and perfect for a lunch break. We got the tempeh nachos, rice and beans bowl, chips guac and salsa plus everything else the rest of our table got. We left full and our hearts happy! The ONLY THING I wish I would see was a super spicy house sauce. Which btw, they have a little fridge of their house made sauces for you to grab and enjoy. I just WISH there was a spicy one, the sweet one was pretty good!

We ordered the chip trio, 2 tacos, and a burrito. The queso was fantastic, the guac was decent, the salsa was very smokey which is a personal preference if you like that flavor or not. I really enjoyed the barbacoa but unfortunately did not like the carnitas - it had a sour flavor. Also, I was disappointed by the hot sauce because it wasn't hot at all (even the habanero one- just very sweet and tasted only like honey). However, everything is very reasonably priced and if you want a quick, affordable Mexican place in St Pete then this is a very solid choice. I give it a 3.5/5!

Don't be put off by the exterior appearance. It's a little shabby looking outside. We almost didn't go in. I am so glad we did. Inside is cutely decorated with some small flower vases on each table. The wait staff was friendly and service efficient. It was a Monday night and only one other table was full. They were doing a brisk takeout business though. My wife had the chicken enchilada from the appetizer menu. It was big enough for a meal. She said it was the best she has had. First basket of chips and salsa was included. Wife not a big fan of the salsa but I feel each restaurant has their own take on salsa. We also got an order of Guacamole. It was fresh and delicious. I finished it off myself. I got the Mojado burrito with carnitas. It was stuffed with tender, juicy pork and I could barely finish it after devouring all the guacamole. We had no room for dessert. Overall a nice casual experience with friendly service and fresh food.

If you are looking for authentic Mexican food do NOT go here. This is honestly worse than having Taco Bell. We tried a couple things and none of it was worth the money. The carne asada, al pastor and chicken all were SO bad. The salsa wasn't good or the horchata. Don't be fooled by these reviews like we were and trust this one. Whoever's tried this and left a good review clearly has never had real Mexican food.

Immediately were seated in a large, comfortable booth and chips and salsa were brought right to us, so good! The chips were crispy and salsa was fresh. The menu is quite extensive and they were serving both breakfast and lunch at the time. For our mains, my husband and I were both confused between two options. Paola made recommendations based on what we were interested in - my husband ended up getting the Faji-torta and I got the Veggie Tacos. The tacos were perfect! Soft blue corn tortillas, piled high with sauteed veggies and queso fresco, with a side of black beans and rice. Every bite was tasty and I was really happy with my meal. My husband loved the filling sandwich as well! Overall, great experience, would recommend, and big thank you to Paola for elevating our experience and really taking care of us.

And right on the top edge of the salsa was some white goo all over it. Yuck. I was shocked. I'm still shocked. First because, I don't understand why it was not cleaned properly and second, why the waitress who brought it to me didn't see it either. Does everyone have their blinders on here? Does anyone care?
