    Beef tongue

Was pleasantly surprised by these tacos because it's not easy finding authentic Mexican flavors in Florida. Chorizo taco - a little less spicy then what I'd expect from a chorizo but there's a little kick. Pretty darn flavorful 7.5/10 Beef - it was good but a little on the tougher side , it could've used some extra salt, then again some Mexican spots lightly season their meat so you can salt to your own liking. 6/10 Beef tongue - more tender and flavorful than the beef . It's the upgraded version of beef imo 8/10

After searching pinellas for authentic Mexican, we finally found our place. Really good food at solid prices with great (and fast) service. There are several tables to sit down and enjoy your food, or you can order at a to go window. We ordered the huarache and cóctel de camarones, and both were flavorful and enjoyable. The portion sizes are huge- and the agua frescas are fresh.

El Huarache Veloz is the REAL deal. If you are looking for AUTHENTIC Mexican food you have found it! We were immediately greeted with a smile and told to sit where we'd wish. There is a large variety of dishes to choose from and I struggled to pick a dish. I ended up ordering the 3 taco plate with rice and beans but I asked for all beans and my husband ordered a Guisado and was given the option of meat and either red or green sauce. I chose carnitas and cabeza for my tacos and my husband ordered the pork chops with the red sauce. My husband's dish was like his abuelita had cooked it for him and my tacos were perfectly seasoned and the rice and beans were on point. The restaurant is small and simply decorated but the food is a colorful explosion of flavors. Huarache Veloz will be our to go spot every time we visit St. Petersburg.

A little hole in the wall where the food is authentic and fantastic. Looks to be family run and the service was great. Had some really great asada tacos and the cabeza tacos might be the best I've had in Florida. Can't wait to go back

Needed a taco fix and my go to place was closed so this place popped up as another option. Got 3 tacos for me carne asada, carnitas, and al pastor. Hubby had the asada, chorizo, and al pastor. We got them to go. All the tacos were good, very polite service. They had a chipotle salsa that was Smokey but not spicy.

We would recommend. The food was all cooked fresh and was delicious. Service was fast and courteous. It's a small restaurant in a little strip mall and I'm looking forward to coming back.

Easily the greatest restaurant in Pinellas Park. I cannot say enough good things about this place. The service is always fast, kind, and accurate. The food is always fresh and incredibly well portioned. Don't be surprised if you're the only one there who doesn't speak Spanish; I think that only speaks to the authenticity and the staff will usually have a bilingual employee to help you out. What are you still doing?! Go try this place! P.S. I highly recommend the burrito mojado!

Great authentic Mexican restaurant. The same cute couple is working the front every time I have visited. The burritos are delicious, can definitely recommend. I tried to be adventurous and got the footlong quesadilla grande de maiz, but I found it to be really dry and not very cheesy. So I wouldn't recommend, but get the horchata or fresh juice! Be careful coming during lunch and dinner rush. This place is small and there's not really a place to wait besides outside or in your car, praying that someone will finish soon.

**** Review 165 ****…read more Found this place while searching for a lunch place. So glad I decided to give it a try. It has been hard to find a good Mexican restaurant in the St. Pete area, most are too Tex/Mex or try to be "fancy" and everything in the menu is overpriced. This place had a local Mexican vibe, small and probably family owned. The staff were really nice and attentive. The place was clean, and plenty of items in the menu. Ordered the Lunch Fajitas with a Chile Relleno à la carte. The food was delicious, both the refried beans and the rice had flavor and no burning taste. The chile relleno was on the smaller size, but very tasty. They had a few beers on tap, and mostly bottles. I was actually surprised to see the place being a little slow during lunch hour, but they might be new. Either way, if your looks for great Mexican food in St. Pete, then you need to give them a try.

The chips were hot and super crunchy, and the salsa was very flavorful. I ordered the enchiladas rancheras and it was the perfect portion. The green sauce wasn't spicy but had lots of flavor, and I loved the texture of the chicken inside. The ambiance here is very well-decorated and cute, with some screens playing sports as well. The service was good too, our server was attentive and helpful with refills. The food came out very quickly as well.

I have noticed this place for years and there are always cars out front when they're open. I've also noticed that a lot of the people going in and out are Mexicans. Now I know why. This place is authentic! It is a cheerful little Mexican restaurant with knickknacks brought across the border by the owners and proudly displayed everywhere there's room. I was greeted by Mama Nina as soon as I walked through the door and told to sit anywhere I liked. I was immediately served with chips, salsa, hot sauce, a large glass of ice water, and a menu. Mama Nina saw my interest in the little house plaques behind the register and proudly pointed out her favorite. The salsa is smooth and easy to pick up with the paper thin homemade chips. Neither salsa nor chips were too salty. A lot of places will serve you salty chips and salsa so that you will drink more. Señor Taco isn't trying for the cheap sale. This is the real deal. I immediately ordered Guacamole and Chips ($10.99). The guacamole is obviously homemade, had just the right amount of spice, and was topped with a sprinkle of pico de gallo, instead of having it mixed into the guacamole. Easily matched the best guacamole I've ever had. For my entrée, I ordered the fajita trio ($29.69). This was also the best fajitas I've ever had. Large slices of steak, chicken, and perfectly grilled shrimp, smothered in green and red peppers and onions. Brought out on a hot metal plate with a wooden under plate and still sizzling from the grill. You can see the steam in the photo. A separate plate held yellow rice, scoops of sour cream and guacamole, two different kinds of cheese, lettuce, and pico de gallo. The beans were served in a small crockpot because it was almost like a soup! I mixed the rice with the beans and ate it with the spoon provided. There were easily enough mixings to make 8 fajitas but I was only given 3 flour tortillas, although I'm sure I would have been served more if I asked. There was no way I could eat everything on the table. When I was full Mama Nina deftly packaged my leftovers to go. This was easily the best Mexican meal I have had here in Florida. Well worth the $50 including generous tip. There is a business for sale sign in the window. I hope they are moving to a better location. It always surprises me to find excellent restaurants in little out of the way holes in the wall. I'll be back!

The mix & match was plentiful and way more than I could eat, the wicked burrito, a tad spicy, but my husband ate every bit of it. Loved the shredded chicken enchilada, seasoned perfectly.
