The HongKong wonton Noodle soup is amazing!!! The broth was savory, rich, yet seeing that the base of the broth is wonton soup broth, it was also light and super clean and deeply flavorful. Maybe it's the MSG but that's an Asian staple seasoning. They did give large chunks of roast pork and about 4 shumai dumplings in the broth. The noodles were thin and cooked to perfection. What set this right even more so was the addition of chili oil. Bummed they didn't have Chinese black vinegar but I think that's just me being snobby. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my experience at Haochi and it's definitely fusion but not in the way that it satisfies the western taste as there is still a prominent nod to the Chinese and South East Asian flavors. Worth hitting up for a lunch spot or a hang with friends.

Unfortunately, this ended up being a pretty disappointing experience. We ordered chicken egg rolls, a side of broccoli with chicken, lemongrass chicken with rice, and a medium chicken pho. The chicken egg rolls were actually pretty good and came with what appeared to be a peanut-style dipping sauce. That was probably the highlight of the meal. Things went downhill when the broccoli arrived. We found what appeared to be a hair in the dish. I've included photos so others can see exactly what we received. We immediately sent the broccoli back. Finding something like that in your food is obviously unpleasant, but we decided to give the rest of the meal a chance rather than let it ruin everything. Unfortunately, the food itself didn't do much to turn the experience around. I'd rate my lemongrass chicken and rice about a 5/10. My wife also rated her chicken pho about a 5/10. Nothing was terrible, but nothing made us want to come back either. We also asked for additional lemons that never arrived. The staff did apologize after we paid our check, and I appreciate the acknowledgment. They appeared to be short-staffed, although the restaurant itself was not particularly busy while we were there. This was our second attempt at Pho 24 at a different location, and unfortunately we've had disappointing experiences both times. Between the cleanliness issue, missed request, and average food, I think we've reached the point where we'll simply choose somewhere else when we're craving Vietnamese food. I really wanted this visit to change our opinion, but unfortunately it reinforced it.
