Always good here! We tried more than just chicken this time and it did not disappoint. The japchae was delicious. The bulgogi was steaming hot when it came out! Chicken was good like every time. Nice to dine in this time, service was amazing!

A new little hidden gem attached to the Burnsville mall. Super clean and nice inside Friendly staff! I ordered the lunch combo for 11.95 that came with about 6 pieces of meat and a bowl of cucumbers. Really flavorful fried chicken. Tender on the inside, crispy on the outside. I ordered 'hot' and it was perfect. Not crazy hot but definitely left your mouth feeling the heat. I brought some home to let my husband try it and he loved it. The house made cucumbers are delicious too! Free parking outside!

We have been to Chingu twice now, once on Mother's Day & once this past week. The food is really great, we haven't had anything we didn't like and we ordered a ton of food both times. Not only do you get great portion sizes but it's shockingly reasonably priced and a bang for your buck- which we truly appreciate in this economy! The Korean fried chicken is SO good, we have eaten it cold out of the fridge a day or two later & it's still crispy we like the medium combo (wings & drumsticks) & it feeds at least 4-5 people if not more. Service is fine, nothing bad to report, staff is friendly. The last time we were there though, they only played Justin Bieber music which was kind of weird lol, but if that's my worst complaint it's really not much to be concerned about. 10/10 would recommend- and they have a sister restaurant in the north metro called Chi Maek which is also amazing. I ordered door dash a year or so ago & had zero expectations & we were all very pleasantly surprised by how good it was. So I was very excited when I learned Chingu was coming to the south metro.

First time trying a Korean Fried Chicken restaurant. Came with a few other people. We were looking for something relatively quick and tasty. The restaurant is on the outside of a small shopping mall. It has a large, brightly lit, clean, and well designed interior. It is a sit down restaurant with no alcoholic beverages available. When we arrived the night before Thanksgiving, it wasn't that busy, with only a few other tables. Our server got us settled in. We said that it was our first time, and we got a little help with some of the items. We ended up with an assortment of items: Pork Buns, Fried Chicken Combo, Gesokara (Deep Fried Squid), and Galbi (Grilled Marinated Short Ribs). The Pork Buns and the Fried Squid came out first. They were both very good. The buns were soft, and the pork belly was tender and fatty. The Fried Squid was amazingly good. Super crispy, spicy but not too hot, and the squid was tender and not overcooked. Next came the fried chicken and the short ribs. The chicken was very good. Nicely crisp, and the soy garlic sauce was a great touch. The short ribs were a big disappointment. You should know that these are cut differently than what you might be used to. They cut the ribs horizontally, so you essentially have something more like a flat steak with several bones running through it. The issue was not the cut but the tenderness and flavor. They were tough and a bit tasteless. Using the soy garlic sauce from the chicken helped. The dinner was very good overall. I would order most of the items again, with the big exception of the short ribs. It would also be nice to have some alcoholic drink options, beer or seltzer.

My wife and I went to the Burnsville Chingu and really enjoyed our 1st visit. We didn't order any apps since we were pretty hungry. I ordered the spicy and mild wings along with the spicy chicken tacos, and everything came out hot, crispy, and full of flavor. I also want to include that this is now one of two places I have found that has great coleslaw. My wife ordered the buldak, japchae, and mild wings, she loved her choices and told me they were full of flavor. After dinner we went over to the other side where they serve matcha drinks, and I picked one up for her to wrap up the night. We got my wife the brown sugar boba tea with oatmeal milk. There were a few little hiccups from our experience in the dining area, but Wendy made the whole experience worth it. She has such a great attitude, friendly, positive, and easy to talk to. It was nice learning a bit more about Chingu from her. The Burnsville location is clean, modern, and has a really good vibe overall. We'll definitely be back again to try other menu options, and that awesome service from Wendy.

Went in right before their rush hour and was able to dine in. The servers were running around like crazy but I never felt rushed to order or to leave. Place is very spacious but they could really make the little area they have with a big table more useful by having more smaller tables. I felt that area was a waste while there was a lot of people waiting to sit. Everything I ordered tasted delicious except the soy garlic flavored wings. It was very salty for me. The guy said Danmae flavor was spicy but I couldn't taste any spice at all. I wished they would've let customers choose 3 flavors when getting the 30 pieces but I'll just have to go back to try the Spicy level. They are attached to Kyomatcha next door so you can get a drink or dessert!

After the zoo, we went to Burnsville mall's food court to see what ethnic restaurants looked good to try. The one we wanted to go to was unexpectedly closed so we searched where else we could get Asian food. This place popped up on Google being right next to Lucky 13. We walked into such a pretty esthetically pleasing dining area and the service was very accommodating and quick. We tried half and half soy garlic wings and danmae on 10 wings and 5 drumsticks with pickled radish as a side. The outer crunch, tender meat, and marinade was literally mouthwatering! The bulgogi beef fried rice was addicting at first bite and the fried dumplings had a tasty spicy kick. The baby loved trying it all and so did I

finally!! somewhere that's not in the cities that has good kimchi jjigae and this one is insane! NOMd: - karaage. huge crispy chunks with a perfectly balanced spicy mayo sauce on FRESH cabbage. flavor was on point not too salty. the only thing missing was a lemon wedge - kimchi jjigae. without imitation crab. like the first line said ... insane. HUGE pieces of shrimp and green mussels 2 each. i could eat that shrimp all day. soft nutty tofu and well seasoned soup. exactly what i needed. and $15 for this gigantic pot ??? yes. service, etc.: my guy (waiter) jeffrey didn't miss a beat. you can tell he cares about the customers making sure you're good. this place is chic with plenty of comfy seating. my orders came out pretty quick. i wanna come back to try their lunch special and obvi will be back for the jjigae!

First time trying this newer place and it was good! The inside is spacious with a lot of seating. The decor was very nice and staff were very friendly. Food was fast and hot. We got the wings and bibimbap and both were fresh and good. We look forward to going back to try more.

Excellent food, service and ambiance. It was so bright and clean when we walked in. The service was wonderful. There was always someone checking on us. Simple menu with great photos and good descriptions. We had soy garlic wings, chicken fried rice and bulgogi bibimap. Some of the beat wings we've had. Flavorful, right amount of crisp. We'll try the other flavors on our next trip. My husband enjoyed his fried rice. Again great flavor and plenty of ingredients. The bibimap was the perfect mix of color textures and flavor. This will be a new favorite spot.

The food was absolutely phenomenal! The food came out pretty fast too! Staff were polite. The place was such a nice ambient atmosphere, the lighting was soft and light enough where you can could see but not too bright. It was a warm setting. The wings were so so good. I cannot explain enough how good the food was. 10/10 will be back again! I will now be recommending this place to everyone!

The whole ambience and vibe of the restaurant is really nice. Granted, we were the only people there at the time, but it's still a really cozy and relaxing atmosphere in my opinion. The waitress that helped us was more than kind as well. Very nice, great service. The only thing I wish they would've asked is if we wanted the bill split, they just brought it to both of us. I was with my sister so we had to split it later. We didn't want to inconvenience them so we just paid the full bill. The BBQ pork bun was absolutely amazing. For only $5.50, I would recommend getting it as an appetizer. It's a fairly decent size too so you could split it with at least one other person. Or, you could have the whole thing to yourself!!! I'll probably get one just for me next time. I liked the chicken satay skewers. Those are really good. But, I was expecting more than just two small chicken skewers for the cost. Really good flavor though. Then we got sushi rolls. They were all fantastic. I remember I got the Ooka Roll. It's the most expensive role on the menu, but it's fantastic. I think we also got the 150th roll. Also fantastic. Overall, I really recommend this place if you want some sushi. Just be prepared to pay a lot of money. If you need a cheaper option, there are other sushi places that are a bit cheaper close by. But these guys are very good and I will be back. I would rate 4.5 out of 5 stars, but Yelp only lets me do full stars - so I'm bumping it up to a 5. I'm excited to try their hibachi when we go back, and more sushi.

We called the day before to make a reservation for Saturday night and there were very few spots available. We snagged a 8-10PM slot. You enter through Hoban (which smelled delicious), and then are led through a hallway with various rooms. It reminded me of practice rooms in the music department or a college. Except...they aren't soundproof. We got a large room for 6 people because that was what was available, but the small room looked like it would have done the job. The host explained the karaoke system and we were singing. Full disclosure: the remote is in Korean-but there's a piece of paper that explains the controls. There was a...unique list of songs. We had no problem finding songs to sing, but some specific songs would be missing (I.e. sometimes the artists' most popular songs wouldn't be there, but obscure singles would be there). It was pretty random for what would be available. You have full access to the menu at Hoban and drinks while in the karaoke room. We already ate, but we ordered drinks. We were having so much fun that we asked the host if we could extend our time. Online said they closed at 4AM, but we were informed that they actually close at 10PM. All in all, I hope to be back!

The first time I went to karaoke, my friend told me something that forever changed my point of view…read more- as long as you're having fun at karaoke, you're good at karaoke. As someone who trained in the art of singing terribly, this has been my motto going to karaoke since then. It doesn't matter if you're good or bad, are you having fun? Yes? Then it's a success. Doremi Karaoke is a lot of fun. If you're looking for a private Korean-style karaoke place, this is it. I mean it's legit - some rooms are equipped with the tambourines and everything, and rooms are decked out with long benches for parties, complete with the good old TJ karaoke system. Seriously, noraebangs in Seoul weren't even as old school as this. The only con about this place is the lack of microphone condoms, which is surprising with the COVID-19 pandemic, so we're all hoping they're cleaning those mics real well. Soundproofing also isn't great - you can usually hear the group next to you, and even if you're rocking out to your own jams, expect to potentially overhear bits of your neighbor's session - for better or worse. Sometimes you get a little inspired to queue up their selection next for your own session! Like other reviews mentioned, the entire system is controlled by a big remote, all in Hangul, but they have a placard with the English translation next to it. Make sure to ask or mention how to use it if you've never been there before or used the system - our server assumed we knew, and almost dashed out of the room before we mentioned this was our first time there. In addition, my friend and I were prepared to break out some old classics in preparation for an older, outdated song catalog, but to our surprise they had a pretty updated and robust catalog! Service was also pretty slow - there's no dedicated staff for Doremi, which seems to be owned by Hoban next door - they share bathrooms and are literally connected, so if the staff for Hoban are busy, you have to physically leave the room and flag someone down. The call button on the wall? Useless. So either eat before you go and play (you do get a 20% discount on your room rates if you eat at Hoban) and known what you want to drink right away unless you want to hunt down a server. Their prices are all pretty reasonable with the exception of soju - I know there's always an up charge, I would have thought $14-$15 was reasonable, but Doremi is charging $18 for a 375ml of soju. Oof. BIG OOF. They do take reservations, which is a boon, and you check in at the front of Hoban for your time slot - they get busy during the weekends, so it's always a good time to plan ahead of time! Also call to double check the times they're open - pandemic changed how their operating hours are, so the most accurate time is going to be the one they tell you over the phone. There's not a lot of places in the Twin Cities that offer a private karaoke experience, so I'm happy to sing (get it?) the praises of Doremi. While parts of it could be better, it's a great option for a fun night out.
