I was pleasantly surprised. It sits next to a hotel with its outdoor patio facing the hotel parking lot. With that, we did sit on the patio as it was a nice evening. We ordered the queso as an app and I have to say, one of the tastiest queso dips I have had. For dinner I had the chicken avocado pita with veggies as a side. It was tasty. Hubby had a pasta that he is still talking about (the following day) My Son had a burger and waffle fries that he said he really enjoyed and my Daughter in law the chicken quesadilla. That was an eventful lunch at Clive's! When we were there we had to do CPR on a gentlemen but we were glad we are CPR certified and were there to help! Right place right time! The response time for this emergency by the employees here was amazing so I'm glad they were on top of it. Let's talk about the food though, it was amazing! Pretzels were soft, beer cheese was strong on beer flavor. Cheese curds were probably the best there. The burger was flavorful and cooked right. The ranch was really good here! The portions are pretty big, we all had leftovers. I liked the different options of sides that come with the entrees. The drinks sounded delicious too but it was a bit too early for me to drink. Dani was an awesome waitress, very attentive and calm even through the emergency. This place gives off small town dive bar when you walk in with the bar side but the other side has plenty of seating options with big booths, it was nice it was separated and depending on what type of mood you are in you can choose to sit wherever. Great roadhouse vibe that is great for watching the game. Big menu with a variety of standard eats but also some unique choices. Service was quick on a busy Friday. My mother said the chicken fried chicken is the best out there. I had the blackened walleye tacos, great portion with fresh salsa and guacamole. Clive's is one of my favorite spots in Burnsville!!! The staff is always friendly and welcoming. There is plenty of indoor seating with a large bar in addition to high tops, booths, and tables. There is also a smaller outdoor patio. They do have a decent size parking lot but it can fill up during peak hours. The menu is big but I've liked everything I've tried. My favorite is the Hot Club Melt with a side of tater tots. They have pull tabs and free popcorn... what's not to love?! The only annoyance at the moment is that construction in the area has shut down the bridge on Burnsville Parkway going over 35W, which can make it a little more difficult to get to if that's your normal exit/ route. read more

Despite having to park near the back of the lot we grabbed a table right away. Service was attentive and quick. Ordered the honey crisp chicken melt without tomato. It's slightly elevated bar food. The tots were good with the sour cream, but a little salty overall. We were left to yap for as long as we wanted without feeling like we were taking a table or being pushed out. For what was available in the area, we were all able to get something we wanted and were happy with at Clive's. We also plan to visit again for trivia night. read more

What I love about Clive's is they have one of those self serve popcorn machines that you can snack on as you wait for your food. I would say stick with beer, the cocktails are so so. Stopped by Clive's last minute with my husband and young kids. The place was hoppin' even at 5pm, likely due to to their happy hour which runs til 6pm on weekdays. It's located right next to a hotel which probably also explains the crowd. Parking was running out but we nabbed a spot. There was no wait for us and we were seated in the very back at a low top, which seems to be where all the families were located. The beer menu is pretty small but I enjoyed the seasonal craft beer I chose. Our food arrived pretty quickly and we found it decent. Nothing to write home about, but pretty classic pub quality food. I enjoyed the Cajun walleye dinner with veggies and rice pilaf. It was overpriced for the portion of fish, but tasty. My husband got a burger which was okay. The kids shared Mac and cheese. One recommendation to the restaurant is to add a baby changing table to the restrooms. Definitely a good spot for a low key dinner out but I wouldn't go out of my way. read more

We went on a Monday night around 530. Parking lot was packed and we were a little nervous as we brought our 2yr old toddler with us. We got in right away, and sat at a table. Server was quick and friendly. Loved that they had free popcorn (our toddler loved this lol). I got the Grilled Salmon with Creamy Cajun Butter, sautéed veggies and garlic mashed potatoes. For $18.25 I felt this was a great deal. The portion sizes were very nice, and food was very tasty!!! Husband got the smothered beef tips with sautéed veggies and French fries. Went here for coach bingo and will never go again. It was PACKED. Could barely get to the restroom. We did order a bunch of appetizers before. They were on a steep discount so why not! All the appetizers were good except the quesadillas. They had whole chunks of jalapeños that made them almost inedible. Let me start by saying that I really wish I could give them more stars because the food was really good; service though...that's a different story. From the parking lot, it looked like it was poppin but when we got inside, it really wasn't that busy. So, that was weird. We were sat right away -- the hostess was nice. 5 stars for her. After being sat..we sat and stayed that way for a really long time (without being acknowledged what-so-ever) even after making eye contact with our server multiple times. It was about 15-20 minutes. Someone in my group attempted to grab the bartender to see if we could at least order drinks...ya'll, this man was SO rude. He stopped her mid sentence and acted like he was a golden god who could not be bothered because how dare we try to take him away from behind the bar. Excuse me while I roll my eyes so hard I fall out of my chair. We still sat, waiting for a server for another 5 minutes after that. When she did finally come to our table, she was short with us and seemed irritated. Insert another dramatic eye roll. For the food, again, it was super good!! The chicken was perfectly cooked and breaded and the seasoned sour cream with my fries -- yum. Highly recommend if you're into a classic Nashville hot chicken sandwich. They would have gotten more stars from me if service wasn't so trash. Bummer. OH and while we're still here, it's nice that they have free popcorn but it would be nicer if it wasn't stale. I love Clive's Roadhouse. Big portions, comfort food, and a nice rustic,antiquey yet trendy setting. What more could you want? Their food is tasty and their is a wide selection to choose from. I tried the 3 Little Pigs sandwich this time around, what a WINNER! Picture this: Bacon, Smoked Ham, and Pulled Pork slathered in BBQ sauce on a toasted onion bun. Carnivore heaven is what that is, hachachachacha delicious. This is my third time here and I love this place. Prices and service are also very good. You can tell they care about serving their guests well. And their bathrooms smell amazing. If they care that much for a place where people defecate, imagine how detailed they are in everything else. Went here after an adult night at the MN Zoo. Sat at the bar and just just going to have drinks when the word poutine jumped out at me. I am PASSIONATE about poutine so just had to add a few more calories to the night. As far as poutine goes, it was good, please do not get me wrong, but I have had better. The fries were the very skinny variety which I just do not prefer. The gravy on top was beyond salty which made me suck down my Long Island at sharp speed. The drink was decent but a bit too sour for my liking. My husband and I sat at the bar and neither used the facilities so no comments on the dining area or the restrooms. But we did have a nice chat with the guy next to us who seemed to prefer to talk to us about our dogs vs paying any attention to his date so that was fun. read more

This place really surprised me! Good food, quick service and fun atmosphere. My coworkers and I stopped by for lunch and we all agreed - we will be back! Food: We ordered the queso, sort of by recommendation of the server. Great choice, really good. We also split the Godfather flatbread (yum) and the chop salad (super yum). I couldn't believe that all of these things were as good as they were... we certainly crossed a lot of food "types", so certainly exceeded my expectations. Atmosphere: really unique and it shows the minute you walk in. Even their patio is cute. It's dark and cozy, but in a good way. The booths are big and spacious; for our group of 3, more than enough space. I could imagine hanging out for a while after work. Service: really, really fast. But not once did we feel like we were in a hurry, so huge bonus there. For a lunch, I normally expect to go over the normal hour (oops), but we actually got back with time to spare. Yay!
