    that's Brooklyn bagel
    Josephine M.

Brooklyn bagel is real. I stopped by to grub a quick bite before heading to the airport. There are so many options of cream cheese spread and I couldn't decide which one to go with. The staff was very friendly by making recommendations and offering samples. I ended up with the Jalapeno & Cheddar. The bagel had a great texture: chewy interior and slightly crisp crust. Highly recommended!

Treated Poorly at La Bagel Delight Despite Being a Paying Customer Today I went to La Bagel Delight (284 7th Ave, Brooklyn) and purchased a can of Celsius and a Coke, totaling $5.74. I paid $6 out of pocket, took my drinks, and left -- not because of any mistake I made, but because I was overwhelmed by the staff's complete lack of compassion, basic understanding, and professionalism. As someone living with a disability, being dismissed, misunderstood, and made to feel like a burden is exhausting. I tried explaining my situation clearly and calmly, but they showed no empathy, no effort to understand, and certainly no apology for how they handled it. Not even an ounce of decency to acknowledge what happened. This place is right across from a hospital, where people -- especially disabled folks like me -- are more likely to stop in. The fact that the staff are so untrained in basic respect and human decency is upsetting and unacceptable. I hope the management seriously considers staff training in disability awareness, because I wouldn't want anyone else to leave feeling the way I did today.

Super cute neighborhood sandwich spot with fresh sliced meat and cheese to order. Staff is funny and friendly! Amazing vibes and delicious food.

Needed bagels and saw this place had good reviews and was close to Dumbo. Glad we stopped in and grabbed food. The bagels were perfectly soft and the cream cheese was plentiful.

Gas, fire, delectable, all of the above. Quick and amazing service. I got the protein bagel w egg white. They also have jalapeño and cilantro cream cheese that SLAPS

My friend lives down the street, loves this place, and says it's very special for locals. Manager and cashier were great but prices are steeps. I had avocado on a pumpernickel bagel and it was perfect. The bagels are dense, doughy, chewy, and are the perfect size and thickness. It's two blocks from Prospect Park so it's perfect to grab a bagel and eat at the park.

Our receipt, indicating 3 bagels and 1 salt with strawberry cream cheese.

Good bagels, poor and inaccurate service. There's nothing like calling a restaurant to notify them you did not receive what you ordered, and to ask if they could possibly send the correct item, but not even being able to get the sentence out. The woman on the phone kept insisting "you didn't order that." I explained to her that I was looking at my receipt and I ordered and paid for 3 bagels, but one of the bagels was wrong and could they please deliver it? But she did not want to hear it. She continued to argue with me until I hung up. Very disappointed in the lack of service and the inability of the person on the phone to allow me to finish a sentence.

Turkey Sausage, Cheese and Egg on a Bagel

Stopped by this bagel place as we were hungry on our way to the Barnes & Nobles nearby and ordered a turkey sausage, egg and cheese bagel. The staff were nice and the bagel was good but I have to take a star off due to the confusing menu pricing structure and lack of prices on the beverages on the fridge. I wish they would include the pricing on the drinks because I got an orange juice and I felt incredibly ripped off. Just feel like this location is way overpriced for what it is offering. 4% discount if you pay in cash by the way

The bagels are indisputably the best around but I'm taking stars off for the store nickel and diming customers on everything else. Aside from my dozen bagels I ordered turkey sandwiches and discovered after paying that each sandwich was charged .75 extra for lettuce and 1 dollar extra for tomato. That's just obnoxious. I'd rather see it all rolled up as a cost of a turkey sandwich. Seeing that I paid $1.75 for lettuce and tomato has assured that I will never order anything other than bagels from here again. There's also a "4% discount built into the pricing" if you pay in cash, meaning they charge you 4% for using credit card.

Bad customer service, the food is mediocre and bland. You can get a bagel from nicer people somewhere else.

There's a couple of tables in a small store. Above the register there's a menu board resembling a train departures board, cycling through the options (it looks neat, but the printed out menu on your right is a lot more practical). There's a cooler with drinks and salads as you enter on the right. The sandwiches, however, are something special. On my first visit I went with something familiar, the Mean Streets (their Italian sandwich). The bread itself is fantastic (locally baked), and the toppings delicious as well (if I recall correctly the dressings are house made). Pleasantly, they also give you a paper plate with your order, which is a nice touch compared to eating off a wrapper. I enjoyed the first sandwich so much I came back the next day to try the No Sleep Til Gravesend. The sandwich is essentially a hot roast beef sandwich, with a jus on the sandwich reminiscent of a French Dip. Perfect on a cold, rainy day. Overall, 1 of 1 has great (and mostly house made) ingredients and great execution. There's a level of creativity on the menu that you rarely see elsewhere in the city. 1 of 1 is among the best sandwich shops in the city, and a very welcome addition to the area.

When the hype got large enough, the owner decided to start a pizzeria and the rest is not history. This is one of the more worthwhile TGTG orders to me. Expensive though, about $55 dollars for a vegan 18-inch Margherita pie with 3 toppings. Was it worth it for the experience? Yes. Would I recommend to someone who wanted to try it at least once for a good dairy-free pizza? Absolutely, I couldn't even tell this was vegan cheese. Would I get it again? Maybe (?) once in a while as a treat with price being the only barrier. Service 5/5: This was great. I came here the other day to inquire about their vegan pizza and just wanted to try a slice. The person found his manager to talk to me about this. They were super friendly and explained to me the situation. This location only sold vegan options in full pies and their other DOP Fast Life location does sell vegan slices, but they didn't try to push me to buy. I came back today and the staff today were also very welcoming. Ambiance 5/5: Rustic red brick interior with warm lighting. It was definitely bustling on a Friday night. Food 5/5: Delicious pizza. I do regret that I ate it cold after driving 30 minutes to pick it up so I did not get the full experience. But the crust was still crunchy. I do wish the toppings were a little heavier but the tomato chunks in the sauce tasted very fresh. A very classic New York style pizza and I couldn't even tell it wasn't real cheese. Vegan garlic knots were great too.
