Chip City is not unfamiliar to me - I actually remember when it was a smaller chain called Chip NYC, and have slowly seen it grown over the years. This was actually one of the last businesses I visited before the COVID shutdowns, so I will always associate it with cusp of the pandemic. The company has definitely come a long way - you know you've grown when you're expanding into the Bronx, as they have a location in Co-Op City. Annnyway, I was in Queens and looking for some dessert to bring home - since cookies sounded good and this particular Chip City was closeby, I made the short drive over to pick up some sweets. This Chip City is located in the Bay Terrace shopping center, so access and parking is no issue. Walking in, it wasn't too crowded - and the space is set up like a typical bakery with the display case/production and some seating off to the side. Chip City offers big, cakey/gooey cookies similar to Levain, though I noticed they had some flatter cookies for sale as well. Aside from cookies, they offer ice cream - usually in combo with the cookies. We decided to pick up a box of 6 - chocolate chip, dark chocolate PB, Dubai chocolate, oatmeal apple, berry lemon, and s'mores. Note the cookies are large and totally shareable - when I brought them home we cut them into quarters. They were all very good - kinda rich, and each with their own unique flavors. Their chocolate chip is solid, and the Dubai chocolate was another standout for me. Service was good, the people in front of us were being kinda indecisive but the team did a good job keeping the line flowing as much as they could. Overall, a solid Chip City experience - they're not my favorite cookie shop, but are definitely a place I would order from again. read more

My friend recently introduced me to Chip City. As she put it - and I agree - they're delicious without being as oozing-ly sweet as competitor cookie places. I had the chocolate chip and sprinkles thins, and they were really satisfying. Honestly, all the flavors looked enticing, but the calories counts kind of freaked me out. The sandwiches and the original cookie with delectable fillings look so good. They have themed releases, which is unique. A recent one was cereal themed! I love to support local chains. I'm so old that I remember when Chip City was called Chip NYC. Perhaps you are as well since they were only established in 2017. It's remarkable to see the proliferation of stores and trucks through out NYC and beyond (thus the need for a name change), but it is not so surprising because who doesn't love a good cookie? I've always enjoyed every cookie I've had from Chip City some more than others. The best one I've tried so far is the Banana Creme one that actually has gooey banana filling and the cookie itself is is a bit more crispy on the outside making these pie/cookie mashup a winner for sure! The cookie butter cookie is a great cookie with a bonus of being dairy free. I like they now have a 3 cookie box special that offers a slight discount because my discount loving self could not pass on the buy 5 get 1 free special they've always had. Got a couple cookies during National cookie day. I love that they have new flavors every time I visit. This time we got the blueberry cheesecake, the cookies and cream, peppermint chocolate, and of course, the original chocolate chip. I purchased one of each of the available cookies, strictly for scientific purposes, of course. Located in the Bay Terrace Shopping Center is Chip City's newest location. The lines were quite long but moving quickly at today's grand opening. The décor is typical and like other Chip City locations. You'll find the pastel walls and city mural with the cookies in the display cases. Unlike the other locations in Queens, this one is a good size. There are a few tables to the right side and feels a lot roomier. I love how the aroma hits you as soon as you open the door and boy, did it smell heavenly. Chip City is known for their giant cookies that rival Levain's. They sell roughly 40+ cookie flavors but they only offer 4 each day. The flavors are rotated daily apart from the chocolate chip cookie which is sold every single day. This happens to be my favorite cookie, so you know I had to order one. I also got the chocolate peanut butter, and cookies n' cream. I love the texture of their cookies; the exterior is crunchy with a warm, gooey center. At $4.50 a cookie, it is a bit of a splurge. Luckily, the cookies are large and delicious. This location also sells Chip City merchandise like t-shirts and bags. They are open daily and location next to the bank. Great spot to stop and unwind after shopping in this strip mall. read more

Chip fans know the deal, the baking in progress scents waft through the air the minute you get close to the door. Lines tend to form here but that's ok, moves pretty quickly since the menu consists of cookies and more cookies. Oh they sell beverages too to go with all that sugar. I came in to buy the box deal, $22.50 gets five -- but you get one free. So there, you get six. Love it. The chocolate chip is a classic, of course. Crunchy in the outside and gooey on the inside. The triple chocolate was not too sweet, surprisingly! It almost tastes like a brownie. The cinnamon roll cookies were very nicely layered with a nice glaze on top. The Funfetti was the most mild cookie, but a nice throwback to childhood cake. Definitely check them out! I didn't actually go to the store, my wife brought them home from Queens. They have a rotating selection every week. We tried a few different varieties. My favorite was the Brookie which was a brownie/chocolate chip cookie. I also really enjoyed the Nutella sea salt. It was deceiving because the Nutella was in the middle so it's not in every bite. It was a nice surprise when you finally get to it. The cookies were a little big compared to regular cookies. I think if they were a little smaller, there would be a little more flavor.
