I have been to the Chipotle location in Athens Ohio several times before and I keep going back! Located on Court street this location is constantly frequented by college bodies nearly all the time. I did not know how the whole process worked upon my first visit, I was actually quite confused. I just followed my friend's leads and surprisingly I was actually quite nervous to order the first time! A part of me was terrified it would taste terrible, or I would put something on it I would not like and I would have wasted my money. I am so glad to say I was proven wrong! My personal go to is a chicken burrito with differing toppings and a side a guacamole. I will add in my burrito fajita veggies, brown rice, sour cream, hot salsa, cheese, and black beans. This place is great for people who don't want to spend a lot but want quality food. Though it is considered fast food I will admit I have had some instances where I had to wait in long lines. These lines were even longer on weekends on nights where there were big events happening on campus. The food though is usually well worth the wait and the price. The servers are also incredibly sweet and nice to work with. They are accommodating of the long wait times when they are present and present differing options of what they do have.There were a few times that they either did not have what I had wanted or the wait was just unbearably long but the good definitely outweighs the bad in this location.Overall I would definitely recommend this location and anyone to try out Chipotle. read more

To be honest this Chipotle is just okay. It's a bit frustrating how they just don't seem prepared for the lunchtime rush. There seems to be a scramble for ingredients around 12:10-15 every time I've come during this time. I guess it's because things are fresh but don't expect to grab and go. Long lines out the door for sure during peak time. Staff are friendly and not stingy with the food so no complaints there. They need to improve their efficency. Only 2 people on the line making the burritos and other items at 12 is ridiculous. read more

I really didn't like their service here. I have been to plenty of chipotles in columbus, but this chipotle in athens... they literally gave me half of what they would give me in columbus. I am sorry I am comparing to columbus. I am not neccesarrily comparing to columbus. I just kept asking them to give me more stuff - they pretty much refused to. I am not a fat person. I'm not the type of person to write poor reviews because I know people are human and they make mistakes. However, I have given this chipotle three chances, and three times I have been disappointed. All three times, I have placed an online order because I don't like to wait and my commute home to Athens is about 30 min. All three times I have gotten there after it says my meal will be ready, only to find out they hadn't even started making it yet, so I have to wait there while they do it. Two of the three times, I haven't gotten any chicken on my chicken quesadilla, even though I paid for it. I love chipotle (not this one) but management needs to step their game up. read more

Chipotle remains one of the premiere fast food spots on campus. The service is unmatched even compared to other restaurants in the chain. The workers have adapted to the insane demand during meal times. Waits in the line can reach as much as 45 minutes, but to no fault of the workers. They are a fine oiled machine that delivers high quality meals in great time. If you plan ahead enough online ordering is definitely the way to go. read more

Beware when you order a burrito at Chipotle in Athens. The salsas are so cold that your burrito will be freezing.

I was picking up an online order for my wife and her friend, the pickup time was for 4 o'clock pm on September 30, 2018. I arrived around 4:05 pm and I was the fifth person waiting for their 4 o'clock order. Finally after more than thirty minutes of waiting I finally received the order. I am not one to complain about a busy restaurant but when I could have arrived and gone through the long line that was there and gotten the order faster is a little ridiculous. Never have had a problem before but after this I am not sure I will eat at this location again. No employee or manager asked about my order or even offered a simple apology or reason for the wait. read more

Normally I never have an issue with this restaurant, however this time because there is a long line the person barely put anything in the bowl, barely any rice, barely anything at all. It was like paying full price for half a bowl. The crew was nice but you shouldn't shorten people due to the line. read more

Long lines. Food tastes terrible compared to any other regular chipotle. Often times under stocked on forks, napkins, etc. Don't bother ordering online because you'll still stand and wait for 40 minutes as they serve everyone else who's also been there 40 minutes. This location is usually pretty good most chipotles are usually the same but for some reason whoever was working there on June 9th decided to not give he whole experience of chipotle and underserved. Worst service I have experienced in any fast casual dining place EVER! There is always a huge line, even at irregular mealtimes, because the staff are so ridiculously slow and incompetent (And rude!) I have seen plenty of restaurants with 15-year-old employees who are more hardworking and attentive. Even the manager at this Chipotle moves at a glacial pace, is rude to customers, and obviously doesn't care about his job at all. Don't go here! read more

I probably won't go back to this location. I am a chipotle freak, and the Athens location has let me down almost every time. It's always something- today my steak was 90% gristle. This is the worst Chipotle in the world. Every time you go there they are guaranteed to screw something up. Whether it be the remarkably slow service, the low quality ingredients (steak is often charred chunks that taste like grill scrapings, salsas are always freezing cold, 75% of the time they don't have vinaigrette), or just the overall ignorance of the staff, you are certain to be disappointed. The employees making your burrito skimp on the ingredients and then act like you're insane for asking for another scoop of rice. There is usually one overly enthusiastic employee that makes you feel uncomfortable, and the rest of the staff are either too stoned or hungover to look you in the eyes, let alone assemble a burrito. I'm assuming this place is managed by students because I have never seen an employee over the age of 25 in this location. I love chipotle, so I have been putting up with this chipotle for the last 4 years as I've been in school, but I can assure you that I have had something go wrong every single time I have come to this location, and it's something that would never go wrong at any other chipotle. The food is usually really good (although I have gotten some questionable chicken and undercooked rice). What bothers me is that often I can't go until I get off work, meaning I make it to Chipotle at 9, which is an hour before it closes. Every time I go there at this time they are out of something, be it fajitas, chicken, rice. If my restaurant only had 10 or so different ingredients, believe me we would have them stocked every day until close. This restaurant is worth going to, but make sure it's at least an hour and a half before close. read more

I walk into Chipotle and instantly it's loud and crowded. I wait a while in the ever forming line near the ordering station. My knees shook while I ordered because I had to speak extra loud to be heard over the background chatter. I ordered a carnitas tacos with sour cream, lettuce, brown rice and american cheese. It was okay. The taco shell was greasy and easily the worst thing about my order. I'm always hesitant to order from Chipotle because I don't like eating meat. I would eat the vegetarian option but I've heard that's not very good. I was more amazed by the layout of the restaurant then by my food. I liked how there was a lot of different seating areas. The only traffic seemed to be in the line that was always forming around the ordering station. The area where I sat had a few crumbs, but once I brushed those off it was fine. One thing that bugged me was the bag of chips you can buy. The bag makes it seem like there's a lot of chips but there's not. It bothers me how much paper they can waste doing that.
