You have to dine in at O'Betty's to understand the charm. An ode to hot dogs and history, you have to see it to believe it. The hot dogs themselves have fancy names, but they're straightforward in their delivery and taste. The Cajun fries had a bunch of seasoning added after the frying process. It led to an inconsistent taste as some fries were submerged in spice and others were barren. Overall it's worth the trip if you're on campus at Ohio University.

Hot dogs are great. We had fries which were quite over fried and not really edible. Neat little place. Very limited seating.

I was looking for someplace interesting and different to have lunch before leaving Athens, and boy, did I find it in O'Betty's. A quirky little (emphasis on little!) hot dog joint off Court Street and not easily seen from the road, O'Betty's was everything I wanted. We were greeted as soon as we walked through the door by friendly staff behind the counter. Their menu is an awesome collection of all-beef hot dogs with different toppings- from the standard condiments to their version of the truly quirky Chicago style hot dog. All of the dogs are named for burlesque pin-ups. The 3-room atmosphere is an interesting clutter of things. Room 1: the counter. Room 2: burlesque. Room 3: all tings vintage hot dog. The spaces are tight. Tables are small. I had a Mata Hari- a dog with chili and cole slaw, and loved it. My second dog was a build-it-yourself consisting of the traditional "texas weiner" toppings of chili, diced onion and yellow mustard. I also ordered a large Very Cheesy Fries. I could wax poetic on the fries! Freshly cut, fried to crispy perfection, and the combination of spicy cheese sauce and shredded cheese was absolute perfection. Staff was great and super friendly. They brought to order to our table. We'll be black!!!!

Dixie, Cajun fries, and a Coke!

Bob and his team have sustained this unique (and tasty) Athens business for over twenty years. I've loved their food since their early years and enjoyed it once again this past weekend. It may have been my favorite meal yet. Their consistency both with their food and friendly service is incredible! Thank you for all of the memories, nostalgia, and all of the delicious food!!!

While looking for a place to go for lunch, someone said "you have to try O'Betty's!" So glad we listened to her! Delicious hotdogs and French fries I could snack on for days! I definitely want to stop by here again next time I visit my sister at OU.

Best Chicago style dog south of Chicago. Great little hole in the wall with a bonus Hot Dog museum included. Quick, friendly service and outstanding variety of hot dogs.

O'Betty's has been an Athens staple for years! Tucked just off of Court Street, the quirky hotdog stand offers several variations of dogs to choose from. The Mata Hari is the perfect combination of spicy chili sauce and sweet, creamy slaw. They boast an Ohio made, no filler, snaps when you bite quality hotdog! The unique interior hosts burlesque themed decor and a hotdog museum! O'bettys is a must stop when in Athens! Garlic lovers: don't pass on the fresh garlic fries!

Great for a late night snack when you're out bar hopping. They have a restaurant inside but at night they only have their window open for quick convenience. The hotdogs and chilli cheese fries were pretty good. If the cheese was melted, it would have been awesome!

    Inside

The inside is insanely cool. It's like a museum of hotdogs. My dog was delicious, but I forget what it's called. Def recommend.

Dixie hot dog and hand cut fries.

Most excellent! The Dixie hot dog was delicious. This is definitely worth a stop just to see the hot dog museum and the vintage burlesque room. Service was great.

She took the time to walk us through the menu and even shared how she cashed in her retirement to follow her dream of owning this place. You can tell her heart is in every bite. The menu covers all the good stuff--burgers, fried bologna, chicken tenders--but as the name suggests, the real stars are the loaded hot dogs. They start with a big locally sourced 6-to-1 all-beef dog and then pile on some wild toppings. I went with the Mactastic Dog--two strips of grilled bacon, creamy housemade mac & cheese, and a drizzle of sweet and tangy BBQ sauce, all on a perfectly steamed bun. Absolute perfection. I also couldn't resist trying the Bologna Coney, which was a thick grilled slice of bologna (cut in half) topped with Debbie's "almost famous" homemade coney sauce, a hit of stadium mustard, diced onions, and a generous handful of shredded cheese. I made it a combo with fries and a drink, and it did not disappoint. My wife ordered the Slaw Dog and loved every bite. As a former chef, I've got a soft spot for simple food done right--and that's exactly what Crazy Dog Grill delivers. The place itself has a fun, casual vibe with tables on two levels and some great classic rock playing in the background. If you're anywhere near Chillicothe, run, don't walk to Crazy Dog Grill. Ask for Debbie's "almost famous" coney sauce (I'm trying to make it officially famous!), and if you're a mac and cheese lover--trust me--get the Mactastic Dog. You'll thank me later. Lots of selection, whether hot dogs or burgers, so be ready if the line is rushing through on a lunch break. Apparently the special here is a root beer slush, which my buddy got and was happy with. I ended up getting a burger and hot dog, both were on a toasted bread, which is a little bit unique. Loved that the menu is pretty pickle-forward. Flavors were on-point, the bread could have been a little less-firm, but maybe it's because I took a couple minutes to step to my burger and it firmed up like drier toast. Kind of wished I got the chili dog, but was completely stuffed before the end of the meal, so wasn't able to further gorge. Will be stopping here again when we make a dedicated trip to Parkersburg later in the summer.

First of all I noticed that there are no prices on the menu that they have been painted over.... I'd like to see prices. We had hotdogs with sauce slaw and onions and it wasn't anything special or that I would return for. I ordered an iced tea and it tasted like it was old and so watery that it resembled water. The french fries were crinkled and sprinkled with Lowery's or something resembling that... no ketchup packets, but ketchup squirted into a plastic side container also a big yuck!!! It took 20 minutes to get: two hotdogs, a small fry and a small drink at a hotdog stand. No We definitely won't be back. It was 430p & they were closing?
