This is a very okay Chipotle. I have been coming here maybe once every two months for the past 1.5 years. What I've noticed is to have minimal expectations. Sometimes the soda machines won't work, sometimes they will be out of chips, sometimes you'll get a to-go order and the order is wrong or missing items, and most likely you will not be greeted with a smile or small talk. All that being said, this place makes for a fine dinner option when I do not want to cook. And if you have loyalty rewards on their app, you can treat yourself to free guac. And that stands for something. I can't say the best things about this place, but I would never tell someone to avoid it. Just come with an open mind, check your to-go order for all the items, and enjoy at home. And I will most likely be back again! read more

Chipotle is one of my favorite places to eat. BUT.... every single one of them is so fast paced and short staffed that they are always filthy. Out of forks, out of the colorful teas, tables dirty, and the doors are absolutely just gross. I wish there was a spray and towel out so you could wash your own table. I decided to give this location one last chance recently and they failed miserable to even earn the 1-start I am giving them. I walk in to the dining room and there is nothing setup on the dining side and two people working. I stand there for about 60 seconds and then one of the workers tells me they are only accepting online orders. I need to download the app, place and order and they will make it. I attempted to download the app, but being inside you lose most of your signal and I was unable to download it. I was told by the worker that they only accept online orders and they are unable to take orders in the dining room. When I exited the restaurant, there was no sign on the front door that said they were taking online orders only and dining area is closed. I honestly don't understand how this place has fallen apart given they were hopping prior to COVID. After COVID they did not recover at all and it seems, from what I have heard, they have gotten worse and the management doesn't care any more. I was trying to be positive in 2023... But on a work trip to Maine ... And we decide to stop for a quick bite to eat before we start our event. I suggested chipotle since I Don't try to eat at the fast food places that serve fried food.. Lets just say I wish I went to McDonald's and ordered all the bad stuff... I honestly didn't think I had to check yelp for Chipotle... But here we are looking at its 1.5 star place. And I had to share my not so good experience.... 1.. Didn't have super greens salad.. 2. Only had cut- up chicken or streak 3. No fajita mix. So the young lady made me a bowel with "crunchy" brown rice, cold steak... Mild salsa tomato mix, corn. Small amount of sour cream, light on the cheese and guac.... After paying over 15.00s, I took a bite and felt something was off..... Took another bite or two and figured the tomatoes were "sour" also after she served my bowl i saw her bring another container of the mild tomato mix.... The wait was extremely long hence only one person fulfilling orders, we had 4 orders we needed so going up to the counter we all tried to have everything ready so the process was easy. The first person in my group started their order "What rice" and immediately after "anything else" like we just started... then the protein again with the "anything else" as me and one of my friends were laughing at something on my phone the guy helping us stopped filling the order and walked up to us and said "is their something funny" and i said would you like to see what i'm laughing at and he immediately jumped down our throats and cussing us out telling us we were "too broke to eat at chipotle that we should go to mcdonald's instead" i proceeded to say can you just fill our orders for us so we can leave and he continued to yell at us laughing and pacing around he screamed at us. Told me he was not making my bowl because i was "mad and weird" he told me i was "weird" about 20 times. After i stopped responding to him because i simply couldn't process what was happening he said "get the fuck out of my store" as we were walking out to try and just de-escalate the situation he continued to scream and cuss us out saying " you can pay for your broke ass bowl or leave". as this was all happening nobody said anything nobody stopped this guy (he wears glasses and has a beard and dark curlyish hair) i am very disappointed and honestly should've called the cops the way this guy was acting is unacceptable and he should be fired! Ok...I tried again. It has vastly improved since my last attempt, but still needs some work. The staff seems more engaged and not as stressed, but the place is still dirty and lacking. It isn't anywhere near as dirty and disorganized as before, but still a little off-putting. I came at 3pm, the burrito line was filled and everything was fresh, they were restocking as I was ordering and they all seemed to be working well together. I'm guessing that the people who were in the dining room were district management checking in, probably should have taken their discussion to a more private area, I overheard more than any customer should hear. Again, the soda machine was out of ice in the front and the back, but I was not told and didn't know until after I had pruchased my drink and went to put ice in my cup. Communication from the cashier is still lacking. Soda was also flat and didn't taste quite right. It was quite warm in the restaurant, so a cold drink would have been very appreciated. This is my second visit at this location to pick up an order I had placed on the app. My first visit here was not good as there are errors in the order , but I was willing to try again. I chose to pick at up at drive thru on app. The app says my order is ready and I am at drive thru . Waited for 20 min as there was one car ahead of us. Waited and waited then I decided to go to the front door to pick up in store instead except the front door was locked. Now if the location decide to lock the front door , then please update the app so that it reflects. Finally got our order and drove hime . We ordered 2 exact steak burrito bowl with extras and paid for the extras. We ordered brown rice and got white, one bowl had guacamole the other one did not. One has romaine lettuce , one did not. One had 4 pieces of steak , missing corn , missing red salsa and other toppings. The food did not look appetizing at all. I called to complain and tried calling 3 times at which my call was answered at the third call . I talked to one of staff saying that I did not get extras when I paid for it. The response I got was we were low on food. Not a good thing, Say that one visit . Ok. But on 2 different visits. Sorry. We will not be back at this location. All retails are short of staff I get it. But when problems such as food quality , not enough food , and accuracy of orders, it is the staff who are not caring about their work in getting it right . read more

Do. Not. Go. Here. I cannot stress this enough but going to this establishment will only cause you headache. We were extremely excited when we first found out that Chipotle would be coming to our "neighborhood" however this one has extremely missed the mark. At first I chalked up all the issues this location was having as being a glitch due to opening in the middle of the pandemic... yet that doesn't seem to be the case because they are still happening and they are only continuing to get worse. The last experience we had here took place on Saturday and it will be the last time we give this location our money. On top of the line that had accrued due to several workers chit-chatting towards the back of the kitchen, the restaurant was out of: regular steak, guajillo steak, fajita veggies, guacamole, cilantro for the rice, and ALL fountain drinks. Additionally, the restaurant refused to accept a Chipotle gift card (yes, a gift card to their own establishment) that I am fairly certain could have been purchased there in the first place. One gentleman did not wash his hands before putting gloves on after wiping sweat from his face and the entire staff as a whole seemed just be rather lackadaisical about everything. Some staff was friendly and accommodating however with so much of their inventory out, there should have been a sign on the door or an announcement made to individuals who were waiting in line for 20 minutes. Our tacos were poorly made, burritos poorly wrapped, and in general, what was supposed to be an easy, relatively care-free meal, just resulted in stress. I was able to contact customer service and inform them of the incident as well as receive a full refund for our food (considering the gift card ordeal.) I want to hold out for a change at this location but I don't think it will ever happen. Even one of the employees told my husband that it was a systemic issue for their store and it only continues to get worse-- how sad. I've heard news that a local-to-Maine taco business will be opening in Auburn sometime this year. Keep an eye out for it and support local over giant chains who can have a whole store slip entirely through the cracks and still do nothing to help it. read more

Drove to the Auburn ME Chipotle since the Augusta ME one closed. We tried going there twice in the last few weeks. Both time the doors were locked. The sign on the the door says it opens at 10:45. We arrived at 11:30 one day and 2:15 on a different day. Doors locked both times and workers clearly visible inside. No other sign on the door indicating why the doors were locked. Couldn't get an actual human to answer the telephone...just rings and rings. Pretty disappointing. Do better, Chipotle. read more

Let me start by saying the actual staff here are usually really nice. In fact I've had real conversations with a couple of the guys who work here in the afternoons/evenings and they've been really friendly. With that said, this is probably the worst managed business I've ever encountered in any industry including other subpar Chipotles. Tonight I went just a few minutes past 7pm. Online and on the door the store is scheduled open until 10pm....this is a Friday night remember. Doors were locked with no sign on the front door saying why. No ability to order online. This happens incredibly frequently at this location and it's not fair to your staff that they must likely take the brunt of people's frustrations that I have a feeling are not their fault at all. I'm sure they also catch flack for never having enough ingredients...like simple things like Fajita vegetables, or whatever the special protein is at that time. I've been I think 10 times in the last month and 1 or both of those key ingredients were out of stock. If you can't stay open on a BUSY Friday evening until your posted time, you shouldn't be open at all. Which sucks, I like Chipotle, but the Maine franchises of this chain have made me begun to feel otherwise. Do better. People obviously want to spend money with your business and you're straight up not letting them! Look at the reviews here, it's crazy that you have one of the only Chipotles with a drive thru and you can't keep it open. read more

Unfortunately this Chipotle is just not good. The food was subpar (dried out rice, burnt chicken, waterlogged tomatoes in the pico, burnt chips) and the restaurant is FILTHY. Every table was dirty, the windows and doors were so gross I didn't even want to touch them. The bathroom was not stocked, there were no napkins, and the service counter was covered in bits and pieces of food that missed bowls/burritos. No one even attempted to wipe the counters down. The employees had piss poor attitudes - no pride in their work whatsoever. When asked for napkins I got an eye roll and then roughly handed a stack of napkins. If they weren't actively serving someone they were just standing around popping attitude towards each other. Just an all around bad experience. Do yourself a favor and skip it. read more

Separately, ordered on mobile from here last week, a double-wrapped burrito, chips & queso & a drink, what I got was a box with ingredients dumped in with my chips and cheese. Basically ordered myself a $50 order of slop in a box to dip the chips in - because they were out of tortillas and didn't make any mention of that. I have never been so disappointed and sad about a food order, and there was no way to rectify it. Money basically thrown out. I almost didn't eat it but I was so hungry and had spent an hour waiting (and spent $48). Usually have really happy people there, however, the newer girl working the register was combative, disrespectful, rude, and empathetic, and told me I was a grown ass man, and that (in so many words) should understand that she was she was having a bad day. Worst chipotle I have ever been too. Today I walked in to approximately 30 people waiting in line with multiple workers out back standing doing nothing. They had turned online orders only on, while they had a full station of food and people readily available to quickly serve the food, causing an extremely long wait time. Didn't even bother to continue waiting. Listened to an employee swear at a customer for asking why this was stating "I don't f**ing know, I just got here, nothing I can do about". Management there is a complete joke and not a single person seems to care. It is disgusting in there and they are usually always out of items because the staff claims there out of stock however, I truly believe it is because they are too lazy to refill the items. Portion sizes are so much smaller than normal because they don't want to have to keep refilling. I have never once had a good experience and it is 100% due to the poor staff. They're rude and lazy and don't give a crap about the customers. One time I was fed up and asked why they turn online orders on randomly and why a single person couldn't walk 3 feet to make a bowl which takes literally a minute. I was told the employee standing around was about to make a bowl for himself because he just got into work and hadn't eaten yet. I love chipotle. If I could afford to eat everyday I would. I've lived out west, down south, and travel the country for work and always seek out Chipotle if I can. They are consistent and staff is polite. This store has to be...by far the worst store in the chain. They are never open on time. Yep - another disappointing visit to Auburn Chipotle's. As others said, this location just needs to close. In the way it's being ran, it is ruining the Chipotle brand. There is always something resulting in another negative customer experience. One visit a couple weeks back, they were out of key ingredients to make anything, including burrito shells! Another visit, workers were scraping dried food off the counter back into the serving bins. Today, front door and back door is locked yet you can see workers inside but they won't make eye contact. There is no signage on the door explaining the closure except hours of operation being 10:45a - 10p daily. I was there at 1pm. I have made numerous complaints to Chipotle through the app, and they are always pleasant. However, something more needs to happen other than Customer Service absorbing the complaint with seemingly no action from Chipotle to correct the issues.
