I've been here several times for breakfast and lunch.b three egg omelette is big enough to stuff you. The breakfast is always good. I enjoy the crepes the most. It is counter service and the ambience is old-fashioned. The price is certainly right. Stopped in to grab a burger and fries. Burger toppings made to order - I had double patties, grilled onions, ketchup, mustard and relish. My friend had a double cheeseburger with raw onions and mayo. Both were good. Bread - super soft. The fries were a little crispy (just the way I like them). Soda in bottles and on tap. The dining room is bigger than it looked on the outside. Order at the counter, and then pick it up when they call your number. Decent prices - especially in today's economic environment. I think I would have been underwhelmed with a single patty, for whatever that's worth. Two was good and worth the extra money. I just want to mention one thing. They have two kinds of lobster rolls - a $14 "regular" and a $22 "loaded" roll. These are great prices (in 2025.) However, the cheaper "roll" is actually served on a grilled hamburger bun with the thinnest layer of lobster. It is NOT good. That said, the loaded roll - which is still less than competing lobster rolls at other spots - is amazing. Tons of lobster on a top-sliced, buttered, toasted hot dog bun. That a place can serve the best lobster roll ever *and* the worst is almost an achievement. Didn't try the burgers. Roy's is amazing - and for good reason. Definitely get the cheeseburgers - they have soft pillowy buns and a relish that's to die for (and I usually don't enjoy any relish). The food isn't fancy, but it's great! Also, if you are looking for breakfast, highly recommend the breakfast sub - it is absolutely loaded with toppings and overflows sometimes. It's delicious and you definitely get your moneys worth! Breakfast can be ordered from a table for dining in, but lunch / dinner needs to be ordered at the counter (then you can still eat in the dining room). Food was basic without any frills . Home cuts fries was my fav to the meal of hamburger and fries. I made home made pickles so wanted to try out a local momma and poppa restaurant for a hamburger. I'm not a usual hamburger eater to begin with and these were okay. The fries however was fresh and delicious. My ultimate favorite food item. Welcome to Roy's. It's not the prettiest place to eat and they don't accept credit which ticks me off when I am rushing, but they do have an ATM so they can get that extra ATM fee. That's all the complaining I am doing for this place. The flat grilled burgers are great. The fries, excellent. The chicken nuggets at this location are fantastic. The other location still uses those nasty fake nuggets. Here they are lightly battered pieces of breast meat. It's a fast food joint. Don't expect Bobby Flay making some fancy burger. Excuse the splash of Ketchup on the napkin...I did that on accident. The presentation of the meal looked like the photo subtract the Ketchup. The burger patty was very thin. Some of the fries were a little too brown/overcooked for my taste. The taste was fantastic. They do not provide a free refill. For the price I paid for this meal I thought I would at least get one free drink refill. A little over $12. I am from out of town so I can't say for sure if this is a decent price. I'm from a different state so this price to me is a little too much for this meal. The staff was very nice and prompt with getting my meal cooked. They do not take cards or checks CASH only. Glad I had a little something since I didn't know and I typically pay with a card everywhere I go. The tables were clean. Salt Pepper and Ketchup available. Napkin dispenser was full. They did not provide me with a receipt when I paid for my meal so be sure to ask for one if you keep your receipts. Overall it was a decent meal. Roy's All Steak Hamburgers are the real deal. Beware, they are small. They do come on steamed buns(which I love). They do not however come on plates, none of the food does. It's all served on paper napkins. Here you build your own burger you can add anything you want, from condiments to veggies. The fries are crinkle cut in house and fried to order, they arrive hot and fresh. First things first - cash only, totally cool with this and their no frills approach ... but that no frills, low overhead business model should mean a better bang for your buck. Portions are very small for what they charge and I honestly didn't find their burgers to be overly tasty or anything special, essentially a local "McDonald's" with slightly better quality. Best burgers ever!! My only suggestion, get a plain cheeseburger! These are true steak burgers where they grind up the meat fresh and the best way to experience them is just plain and simple! The first time I got it I had toppings and felt it was an "ok" burger. After listening to my sister who swore by their plain burgers I got just a cheeseburger with nothing else and it was a million times better! I have never had such a fresh delicious tasting burger. I get that in the old days burgers were not a 1/4 pound or more but a Roy's burger makes a McDonald's happy meal hamburger look huge by comparison. I don't even know how they keep the wafer thin tiny patty together before cooking. I like sweet relish, but for those that like dill pickle chips on their burger are out of luck. They put on the condiments for you and since there is so little meat, it tastes like you are eating a mustard and ketchup sandwich. If there is something special about the supposed "steak" quality meat, I could not tell because I could only taste condiments. Make sure you have cash on you. Even though I am writing this in 2015, they do not accept cards. They do have an ATM where you can pay a $2 fee. Not including the ATM fee, I spent nearly $12 for 2 small sodas, two White Castle sized cheeseburgers, and 1 large fry to split between 2 people. The counter person was not especially friendly but I noticed that regulars are treated better.
