This has to be the worst Chipotle location I have ever visited!! I have been to many locations in several different states and this one was an absolute let down. Small food portions, messed up one of the bowls in the order and when it was remade was not made correctly. Sadly now as well a bowl with just rice (not extra - just two small scoops) cost more than purchasing a kids meal with rice as the side for the same amount of rice received. Skip this location and eat at a different joint. **Believe what others are saying about their portions being small - I had to ask on every bowl purchased for extra rice to equal the regular amount received at all other Chipotle locations I have eaten. read more

*3.5 stars* Chipotle always reminds me of my adventures in LA and I'm a sucker for a bowl of anything with guacamole, hence the extra 0.5 star. The times I had a Chipotle in LA were far different from this visit, no line (but I guess because we came on a Thursday late afternoon). I ordered right away - Chicken bowl with my customs faves. You have the choice of brown or white cilantro/lime rice, black or pinto beans, sour cream, salsa (mild, medium, hot), corn, cheese, lettuce and a MUST-HAVE their Guacamole (extra $2 charge though). The chicken was okay, not dry not moist and had mild grilled flavour, the rice had a pleasant taste of lime and cilantro, no beans for me so I don't know how they tasted, the sour cream was thick and cold, salsa wasn't as fresh as I hoped and it didn't have as much flavour I'm used to, corn was sweet and crisp, cheese was light in flavour, and the guacamole was creamy and fresh and helps bring all the flavours into a delicious mouthful of yumminess. I felt like they were skimping on the amount of ingredients but the bowl was just big enough to satisfy my craving. Service was nice and quick. Seating was clean and there were outdoor tables to enjoy the sunshine. Out of all the food court options at BellisFair, Chipotle just has the perfect mishmash of ingredients for a delicious meal for around $7-10 depending on your options. read more

Today was the last time I'll go to this location, which is a bummer because I love Chipotle and have visited many across the country. I've never had an issue with small portions like others are reporting and I've easily been here over 10 times. I basically go every time I come in town which is usually once a week. It boils down to that the good people here don't know how to make a burrito. I get the exact same thing every time I come in (not really one to tamper with a good thing) and somehow it has gotten botched the last five or so times I've visited. Today, after requesting 'just a little cheese' like always, I was given a whopping handful that completely overpowered everything else in my burrito. And I'm not normally one to complain about too much cheese. Pizza is like my second language. I've worked as a line cook at more than one restaurant and there are two ways to be a line cook: treat it passionlessly like an assembly line, or take some pride in what you're doing. The outcome of both can be similar, but one can tell the difference if one tries. The owner/operator has made my burrito the last three times I've been in and he always tries to scoot me through as quickly as possible even if I'm the only one in line. As I came in the door today, he yelled to me what I wanted to get started before the door behind me had shut. Then he tried to juggle me and the only other person in line's orders at the same time, which somehow resulted in him asking me what my protein choice was three times. I'm not trying to be persnickety here, I just know what it takes to make food on a line and it's really not that hard to make it decent. I ended up with a burrito with all the vegetables on one half and nearly a measuring cup of cheese on the other half and pinto beans instead of black beans- a mistake I didn't see made or else I would have pointed it out. It's an okay establishment, hence the three stars, but if I come in to get the exact same thing on a weekly basis and it continuously is made wrong in some miraculous way or another, I'm just going to go somewhere else. read more

Visited about a week ago for a late lunch while doing some shopping. I was pleased to find a longer lineup at Chipotle than the Mcdonalds a few doors down. Though there were about ten people ahead of me in line, it took no time at all before I was at the front. Serving staff were all eager to please. I found the menu easy to peruse and quickly chose a bowl with a generous combination of chicken/sofritas(tofu mixture), plenty of brown rice, corn, salsa and some veggies. The portions were of an excellent size and were more than enough for my appetite. I found the medium salsa a bit too spicy for my liking. In retrospect, I wished I'd bought some chips & salsa to go just to try them. I didn't have salsa with my meal as it would have been too much food. They have plenty of seating in this location, but need to clean the tables a bit more frequently - several of the tables around me needed attention. Overall, I felt this was good value for around $8 and would definitely return - hopefully sooner than later. read more

Not impressed at all. I had never been before and the gal that was the first person in the line was not helpful at all, questions were met with pointing at the menu board. Going down the line the others seemed to not want to answer anything either. Finally got my bowl (I think that is what it was) put together and sat to eat it expecting explosions of flavor and yummy.....nope no flavor. The cheese sauce was very apparently made from a powder or something very coagulated looking. I paid way to much for food I did not eat. When I pooked at my reciept I saw I was alao charged for extra things and had to go back to the counter and try to get someone to help. I've never written a negative review in my life, but this chipotle is literally disgusting. It's filthy. The counters are a mess and the food is all mixed together. The stainless bins are always empty or look like they've been sitting out all day. I usually love chipotle and I just moved from San Carlos where I would eat chipotle in 3 to 4 times a week literally. I've been to pretty much one in every city that I've ever been to because it's my favorite food. But I've gone in here several times during my visits and a couple of times I've actually turned around and walked out. It's the least appetizing restaurant I've ever seen. I see that there's three health violations. When I do go, I just pray that I don't end up getting sick. If you ever walk in just look at the food and rice and cheese and tomatoes and everything is just all over the place. Had a 27 minute wait In line over the weekend, I admit our timing wasn't the best it was lunch time. We almost did digital order while In line but I was optimistic it would move. They were kind when I drove back to show them the order and added more to the bowl, I should've paid attention because it was only sour cream and fajitas they added. Do not shop at this location. The rice was unseasoned, the fajitas weren't cooked, and there were no chips or corn salsa, this location NEVER has chips by dinnertime. The employees also don't know how to roll the burritos, they came apart in the wrapper and leaked all over the bag on the drive home. Thankfully we used to work for chipotle and were able to reroll it when we got home. This is severely below standard and we will not be returning to this location again. The store is also FILTHY, it looks like they don't clean the floors at all. All of the garbage cans were so full you couldn't cram another napkin in. read more

This place is great! I just started a strict paleo diet but I can still eat here. They have recently added paleo, whole30 and low-carb options to the menu. Which is totally awesome! Everything tastes great here and really fills you up. And all of the meat is responsibly raised so you can feel better about what you are putting in your body. Always great and fast service. i am a dedicated Chipotle enthusiast. it's my go-to spot for healthy, quick lunches. I haven't had Chipotle since they first started popping up 10 or 15 years ago back east. I had mostly indifferent feelings about them then. When I saw they were opening a store here, I decided to give it another try. We placed an online order and timed it for 4:45 pm. We showed up about 5 minutes early and our food had already been sitting In a holding cabinet for quite some time. The little bit of cheese they were able to spare for my burrito bowl had been melted then congealed into a small nugget of tasteless rubber. The guacamole and sour cream were quite warm and the only thing that had any flavor AT ALL was the hot salsa. Very bland rice, beans, chicken and guacamole. I cannot recommend this place at all. But if you do try it out, don't order ahead of time, and get the hot salsa if you want to taste anything at all. I think you're better off trying a taco cart around town. MEH. read more

Second visit to a Chipotle, first visit to the brand new Bellingham Chipotle. First take, lines seem to be part of a visit to Chipotle, ours took 15 minutes until we were able to order. This location is at Bellis Fair Mall which makes it easy if you're already shopping, less so if you're not. This location is about the same size as the other Chipotle I've visited. Seating looked like it would be challenging but things cleared up nicely, we got nice seats by the floor to ceiling windows. Service was good, the servers were quick and answered questions with a smile. Because the restaurant was busy, food was hot and fresh. I had a bowl with carnitas and pinto beans. Brown rice with medium green salsa (I would call it mild) sour cream with lettuce on top. This was a very tasty and healthy post-Thanksgiving Day lunch. My companions had a burrito and tacos. My son loved the burrito, though he made the mistake of unwrapping it before eating...whoops! He loved it (chicken, brown rice, black beans, mild salsa, guacamole and sour cream) and was stuffed. The tacos were a hit as well, though it would have been nice if I'd had the choice of hard or soft tacos (we got soft tacos, we'd have like hard shell tacos). Why 4 not 5? The line was pretty long and didn't move that fast. Our table wasn't wiped clean, and it would have been nice to have taco shell choice. 2.5 stars Let me start off my saying, I do love Chipotle. The food is pretty consistent and fresh. I can always count on my carnitas salad bowl (paleo-friendly, may I add) having a healthy helping of meat, full of flavour, and worth the money. But is it worth the lines? Chipotle is notorious for this but for some reasons, people (myself included) stick it out! The lines are especially at this new Bellis Fair location. Perhaps it's because of the lackluster alternative options in the food court...but I waited in line for 30 minutes for a bowl of lettuce and beef. Was it good? Yes. Was it worth it? Good thing I wasn't in a hurry. Tip - I am not sure about this location, but at other Chipotle's you can order online in advance and have it ready for when you arrive, bypassing the line. THIS IS THE TICKET, people! I will definitely be taking advantage of this option when possible, but probably not at the Bellis Fair location. read more

So my girlfriend and I came here for the first time tonight; I've always wanted to try it because I'm all for ethically treated meat sources, and I've only heard good things about the business behind chipotle as well as the food being nothing short of delicious. We Bellingham folks tend to get excited when big national chain restaurants think we are worthy of them. I know I was just as excited as everybody else when I heard that a Chipotle was finally opening at Bellis Fair Mall. Today I got the chance to check them out for lunch, and ordered a carnitas bowl with a side of chips. As other reviewers have mentioned, the service behind the counter is slow. I'd like to think this is just because it's a brand new restaurant and everybody is still learning. But I felt lucky that I got there early enough to avoid the very long line which had formed by the time I left. The unwiped tabletops were also a little off-putting. I found myself wondering if this place even has a manager? The food was good though, and I'll definitely be back especially once they get their liquor license and can serve beer. Meanwhile I hope the staff is able to hone their burrito making skills, and provide faster service to the lunch crowd. read more

We love Chipotle. They've been good to me during Whole30, making sure to avoid cross contamination. The online order and pickup makes the slow service others have mentioned in their reviews irrelevant, because it's waiting for you when you walk in the door. I ordered a Burrito with the following ingredients: -Barbacoa -Veggies -Black Beans -Cilantro-Lime Rice (the most flavorless rice I've ever had) -Hot Salsa -Cheese -Guacamole -Sour Cream -Lettuce The burrito came in decent size, but was so bland and flavorless, which is a contrast of what authentic Mexican food is like. I really don't understand the hype of this chain, especially considering the very long lineups. I thought the prices were reasonable, but I've heard it's overpriced back home (Vancouver, BC). I went on a weeknight so it was relatively slow, only 3 people in front of me. It still seemed to take an inordinately long time to serve those people. Having never been there before I asked how to order and the girl sort of sighed at me and said just pick your toppings. I asked which was better, the white rice or the brown and she said they are cooked the same and taste the same. ...?? Why offer a choice then? Paying was confusing. The cashier didn't know what I ordered and didn't ask if I wanted a drink. My husband got his food faster from mongolian grill where it was cooked to order. While my burrito was edible, it was bland and sloppy. I felt cheated after all my friends from across the country had kept saying how much they loved chipotle.
