I ordered the 8 Layer Veggie Burrito (without sour cream). It's still just as good as I remembered it when I lived in Arizona. There was only one person ahead of us in the drive-thru, so it took maybe about 3 minutes for us to get our food once we ordered. I would consider Del Taco to be a healthier Taco Bell. The drive through employee actually called me a b*tch when I tried to argue with them and the manager backed them up when I requested to speak with them. I guess Popeyes in Georgia got tired of me submitting complaints about the incompetence of their restaurants so they completely ignored my complaint and never refunded me for the food I didn't receive. I absolutely despise Popeyes for having virtually no customer support so this was a gamble that finally paid off.

I had come back on a late flight into RDU, and on my way home found myself hungry. Not many options this time of night in our area, and a Cook Out Tray just sounded great. So I pulled off of 40 and took a ride into Chapel Hill for this on-campus Cook-Out, appropriately decorated with all the proper blue. Easily 15 cars in the drive thru, but I think I was through it with hot food in around 15 minutes. My burger was cooked up perfectly, topped well, and hit the spot. The corn dogs were crispy outside like I like them, and I didn't have to ask for that. My Oreo mint shake, creamy and tasty as usual. The attendant at the window was friendly, and generally, it looked like the employees were having a good time in there while remaining busy. Good to see, as I feel like most of my Cook Out runs in recent memory felt like pulling teeth with whoever was working.

The staff is pretty friendly and your order is ready pretty quickly. My go to meat from experience is Al pastor since it is marinated pork (Do I need to say any more?). The pork pupusas are one of the best things they have to offer for $2 each. The Torta Alpastor ($8) is my go item on this bus although it is a little more costly. You can probably get more bang for your buck with tacos, but the torta is so savory and has some more nutrition. It is pretty much a lightly toasted bread containing your meat of choice (trust me with Alpastor) with Mayo, Lettuce, Tomato, and Slices of Avacado. Hopefully I did not make you salivate. It is fairly large, so you'll be full after finishing it. The taco truck also has two types of hot sauces: green and red. The green sauce is fairly spicy (4/10 rating, just right before it is slightly uncomfortable), but is pretty flavorful.
