Salad with chicken

Good for a quick meal at RDU in the Southwest terminal. Several great options for a bowl and the chicken was decent. Fast, friendly service.

Service was quick, toppings were plentiful! A lot of food for 15.00! Feels like 3 servings worth!

I was actually pleasantly surprised by this Salsarita's in Terminal One. Terminal One has such limited food, so options are scarce. I got a bowl and the employees were friendly and efficient. I also appreciated that they had fountain soda, not just the bottles. The toppings looked fresh and everything tasted okay. It was fast and just what I needed before my flight. Overall not a bad option in Terminal One.

Bean... juice? Dripped everywhere. All over my uniform, my pants and left a puddle in the bag.

Located beside A5 in the airport, I ordered a veggie burrito. Their idea of veggies is just sliced peppers. For $12 I got some rice, beans, cilantro, tomatoes and cheese and a tiny spoonful of salsa in a tortilla. The liquid from the beans went absolutely everywhere. All of the salsa was in the middle so most of the burrito was severely dry in my mouth. There were no pop out flavors, no wow factor. It was a burrito I regretted ten minutes after ordering it.

Chicken taco, chips, and salsa

Reasonable place for a quick meal at RDU Terminal 1. The employees are friendly and efficient. The set-up is similar to Chipotle. Choose your entree, protein, toppings, and sides. I opted for a chicken taco with chips and salsa. They piled the taco with ample selected toppings (corn salsa, cilantro, lettuce, etc.). The chips are crisp and seasoned. For the salsa you can pick the spice level. All the ingredients are fresh and tasty. It is a little pricy, but so are all the other restaurants at the airport. Our order was made quickly and we sat in the nearby dining area. Overall, Salsarita was a good option for a quick, nutritious meal.

Came here while waiting at the Raleigh airport. It was a good meal for the airport. A make your own bowl is always good. Lots of sides to add. The rice was a little crunchy. But the guac and extra tortilla side did not cost extra money so that was nice. Workers were kind. The bowl was filling and a fair price around $12. Overall if I was waiting in the airport again I would come here.

Nachos were very filling

Excellent Nachos for an Airport. I rarely order 1 item and get full. Well these nachos did it for me. They were loaded. Options were limited in the terminal but the staff made my order quickly, made it look beautiful, and satisfied my hunger before my Southwest Flight home (that 0.5 Oz snack mix just doesn't cut it these days). Thanks Salsarita's!

Here is a chicken quesadilla for 9.79. Seriously this place sucks.

Terrible. I would never eat here again. Terribly overpriced and terrible food. Just terrible. They up charge you for literally everything. If you have a family you're better of killing yourself. Never again even have an airport discount here and wouldn't eat here if I had a gun against my head. Screw this price gouging place.

I would rather get hit in the head with a frying pan than eat the $25 quesadilla I got from here. Made my tummy churn so bad

Place sucks and staff is rude. They ask you for a tip as well and get upset when you don't give a tip.

The 1 woman working there didn't change her gloves between register and food prep. And the burrito contents were room temperature.

While the food is on the pricey end, the portion sizes make up for it and the quality is there. On my first visit, I tried their Tres Amigos dish. It is basically a mix grill with shrimp, steak and chicken. It came with rice, beans, and veggies. The meats were super flavorful and the rice and beans were actually great! I hate it when a Mexican place just dumps overcooked rice and goopy beans and calls it a day. The veggies were very clearly frozen and came from a bag, wasn't all that excited by that. I think arroz con pollo (ACP) is one of the simplest, yet, most delicious Mexican dishes. It is chicken, cheese and rice, how can you mess that up? Mamacita does their ACP justice. The chicken is tender, there is a nice balance between the cheese and rice, and it is just a great combination altogether. They also do a decent job with their birria tacos (although wasn't the biggest fan of the consume) and their churrasco plate. They even top it with a legit salad, not just the chopped lettuce and tomato. In the end, I am always full and satisfied with the meal. I certainly think this is worth a visit. Oh, I forgot to mention everyone's favorite thing about the place, they have a robot server! Definitely very cute.

I usually rotate between the tacos, enchiladas, and molcajetes, and while the tacos themselves are just okay, the overall experience is solid. The fresh chips are easily some of the best I've had at a Mexican restaurant (warm and crisp). Add queso to those chips and it really seals the deal. They more than make up for the tacos being a bit underwhelming and are honestly reason enough to come back. This is a great neighborhood spot if you're looking for authentic flavors, generous portions, and excellent chips and dips (biggest downside is no liquor aka no margaritas). Not every dish is a knockout, but the highlights keep it comfortably in 4-star territory.

I was really one mayonnaise filled torta away from missing out on my favorite Mexican restaurant of Cary. The food is some of the freshest and most authentic in the area, and is consistently spot on. Forget heavy burritos or overly sauced enchiladas, this place is the real deal. When you come to Esmeralda Grill, you should really focus on the meat heavy dishes, whether it be via land or sea. There are so many different options to choose from, from both categories. When thinking seafood, expect the full fish. If you find yourself with the fresh grilled tilapia, you will receive a delicious whole fish that tastes as if it was caught that morning. It is such a fantastic option. I also appreciate the camarones a la diabla, or Diablo shrimp. The shrimp are plump and juicy, the spice of the dish is excites your taste buds and is a great dish. My favorite entrees are the land meat dishes though. El Trio Perfecto is my go-to order, it is grilled steak, chicken and pork all on one plate with rice, beans, salad, and tortillas. The Mexican spice rub on the meats is absolutely mouth watering, the flavors are so bold and tasty. The meats are all cooked to perfection and the portions are gigantic. You can make different tacos with the various meats, it is seriously one of my favorite Mexican dishes. I would highly recommend this! Additionally, Esmeralda Grill has so many other wonderful dishes for different flavor profiles. My grandparents are pretty particular about empanadas, but simply cannot get enough of Esmeralda's version. They also make some killer tacos, and some very affordable ones if you were to come on Tuesday! The moral of the story? Don't base your opinion of a restaurant after a single visit. You don't come across a fantastic hole in the wall every day, Esmeralda Grill is one that every Mexican food lover should know!

The staff really get into celebrating the birthdays, and that part was really fun! However, it took close to an hour for the server to ask us for a food order - including appetizers. Service was around a 3.5, friendly but slow. We wanted to start with the dip trio, but after waiting about 55 minutes from when we sat down, we had to flag down our waitress and ask if we could put in the order. She then came back to take the regular food order, not leaving a whole lot of time between the dip coming out and our food coming out. The dip trio was OK, the queso was the best part. I'm not sure if the dip was supposed to be a cold dip or a hot dip, but it was like a lukewarm. I got the chicken and steak fajitas, which I would give a 2.5 out of five. The meat was a bit chewy. Overall I'd give the food a 3. The drinks were a bit too sugary and not well balanced--more filler than alcohol--so I'd give them a 2 (tried a sip of friends, the house marg, mango marg, and drink that comes in a little bathtub). It's a really nice spot for a party/celebration atmosphere, could be very fun for a bday, but you'll need some patience and to keep your expectations at bay for food. They also add a 3% credit card fee when using card, which I personally dislike. In general, I don't tend to patronize businesses that do that.

We've recommended this place more times than I can count, so it genuinely pains me to write this. Today's Sunday brunch was a frustrating experience from start to finish. The wait was long, which we've come to expect and honestly never minded because the food made it worth it. What made today different was the service. One person in our group never had their order put in. We only found out when everyone else's food arrived -- after an already lengthy wait. Getting our server's attention to correct it was its own ordeal, and by the time the missing order finally came out, the rest of the table had long finished eating. To top it off, the music was blasting at a volume that made it impossible to hear each other across the table. At Sunday brunch. We asked our server to turn it down and were told the manager said it couldn't be done. I genuinely don't know what to do with that answer. The food, as always, was good -- and that's the only reason this isn't a one-star review. We'll give it another chance because the kitchen hasn't let us down. But the service today was unforgivable, and someone in management needs to know that.
