This particular Chipotle Mexican Grill is located on Howland Boulevard in a small shopping plaza. It is also basically in the same shopping plaza as the Publix. Parking was a little tight, but it was just a bit past noon, so the lunch time rush was on. The staff was overall friendly enough and though the line was a bit long, it did move pretty quickly. Chipotle Mexican Grill is pretty much my go-to when it comes to fast-food. It is tasty and is also relatively healthy, especially when compared to those huge international burger chains. My go-to order is a burrito bowl and while I might mix-up the proteins, my usual order is either chicken or steak (or sometimes I get half of both). I have also lately been getting the carnitas (pork). All are good choices. I would definitely recommend this particular Chipotle Mexican Grill. For fast-food, it is a pretty solid choice. read more

So much for a little extra, half my steak fell off the spoon as the employee was putting it in my burrito, I said really he said "I'm sorry" like what you're sorry you just shortchanged me on my meal. third time in two weeks i have come here and they ate out of something. First it was black beans. Then it was Guacamole. Today was steak. I have been to this chain all over the country. I have never encountered ONE location so poorly prepared for not having a food item. and they never warn you walking through the door. I am never returning. I am not sure how they stay in business or why. For example there is a Publix supermarket behind them about .5 miles. They could not get Avocado from there to make Guacamole? The whole staff should be retrained and the owner should be ashamed. I am done.. they will never get a dime from me again. Sadly, I was reminded why I have not been back to Chipotle in DeLand in the past 12 months. "It's just dirty". Overall the food was as expected and fine, but the dining area was unkept. Tables were dirty, chairs scattered throughout and the kitchen staff looked as if they didn't care to be working. There was food remnants all over the kitchen floor. I just had the worst experience ever at your store. I ordered a beef barbacoa bowl. The employee preparing my food was totally careless and rushed. He put very little rice in my bowl a huge scoop of beans and a huge scoop of vegetables which is great who doesn't love vegetables, but when you do it with such carelessness and scoop the majority of it with broth it's not going to taste good. To make it worst he topped it off with very little beef. When he went to scoop the beef you can see that it was all broth in there. I didn't think it was gonna be as bad and because of the long line and my short break, I didn't make a big deal. But when I sat down to eat it the whole thing was like a soup at the bottom. I ate about a quarter of it and was so disappointed I had to go back and tell them about it. The employees said they would make it again. I said cool I'll take it and eat it later (I didn't want to be late from my lunch break) Then the manager Debra English comes out and starts barking at the employee making a scene. She addresses me with an attitude and scolds me about not saying anything when I got the order when she wasn't even on site during the chaos. The whole interaction was totally unprofessional on her behalf. She pulled the bowl out of the trash and accuses me of eating half the bowl and just trying to get free food. WTF! I don't know how you would hire someone like that! I kept my cool but I told her look, if that's the case and that's how you want to look at the situation keep your food and I'll never come back here again. She said "that's fine have a nice day sir" in a very sarcastic manner. I've been a manager for 15 years, I've visited Chipotle hundreds of times, love the food and never experienced or seen people treated that way. Taking the food out of the trash! I've been to dozens and dozens of Chipotles and this is easily the worst in the nation. Awful customer service, dirty store, do NOT order for delivery because it'll be the smallest burrito possible with the wrong ingredients, the manager is too busy worrying about his makeup to care about running the store correctly, and the meat is too salty, too fatty/grizzley and not warm. The water side of the fountain machine hasn't worked in a year. They wrap burritos like they're folding a fitted sheet. And I'm sure I'm missing something. Interesting experience. I've always wanted to try Chipotle and I'm a fan of Tex Mex style foods so I was pleased when a Chipotle opened up three miles from my house. Here are the basics... Pros: Very clean, polite staff, food was pretty tasty. Online ordering is available. Cons: It's kind of pricey compared to other Tex Mex style restaurants. You pay extra for chips and they aren't cheap. Fewer toppings are available than similar places. A few suggestions when you go.... 1. Order the burrito bowl with tortillas on the side. You'll get more food. 2. Don't buy the chips. They are over 5 dollars for a large bag and I kid you not, my bag had 38 chips. (Yes, I counted them.) Small chips too. Queso was fair. Had better, had worse. 3. Chorizo and steak were both good. Toppings were fresh and tasty. Try different items to see what you like. 4. You pay extra for salsa. I'd pass on that. Overall judgement. It's worth trying. I'll probably order online to avoid the line next time and take my meal to go. read more

New location so people definitely have to be somewhat lenient with the reviews. The food so far has been consistent with the chipotle brand. Personally the layout of this Chipotle reminds me of a cafeteria. Would have been nice if they broke up the space a little more like some other locations. The only con that I have experienced consistently so far is speed of service. They are still working out the kinks and need to figure out what employees are best for peak times and strong points on the line. Overall staff of very nice. read more

The seating area itself is usually in good condition, but there has been a common theme with all pick up orders there that the food is poorly made. We ordered two bowls for pick up and it barely had any chicken. I asked the lady nicely at the pickup station for some vinaigrette and she doesn't even register that she heard me before picking out a cup of vinaigrette covered in oil and hands it to me with no words and no acknowledgment.
