I love burritos and have had them a lot of different places, some good some bad. The Franklin Chipolte is a good place to get a good burrito. Very casual with a small dining area that usually is messy and unswept. You may have to grab a napkin to clean your table. I'm not sure how this happens because there is always plenty of employees around. I've been here enough times to notice that keeping the dining room clean is a chronic problem. Outdoor seating is available and nice in warmer months. The line always moves quick and my burrito has always been served the way I have ordered it. I have been there when it first opens, peak lunch time and for dinner and never waited more than 10 minutes no matter how long the line is. The ingredients are fresh and of good quality. Efficient friendly service that will bend over backwards to make sure your happy and satisfied. A pet peeve of mine is cold food. There has been times when I have been served a cold burrito but it has always been taken care of immediately. I'm not really sure why this happens in the first place since food is continually being prepared.I realize some toppings might cool the hot ingredients but not to the point where the entire burrito is cold. Two last points, they can be stingy with the salsa. I like salsa and eat a lot more than the one 2 oz. cup that is provided. I always end up asking for more. The amount provided may be ok for other people. Last point, without going into too much detail is inconsistent portions. Nothing that has happened to me has ever kept me from returning. read more

Pre Ordering is a waste of time here. The site says 45mins but you normally have to wait longer. Tonight they ran out of veggies and then asked if I wanted to wait 20mins for the pork to be ready. Had to get chicken instead and the burritos and restaurant were overall sloppy tonight. Never mind the flocks of teenagers who live at this place. Used to be a better place to visit, but seems the employees have lost their care to please the customer. I should have known to avoid Chipotle, especially this location. I can't digest rice and beans well, so when I order my salad, I like grilled veggie substitution. I explain that loud and clear, then I get 2 strands of green pepper and sad hint of onion. I ask for some more, then she so reluctantly add few more strands of green pepper strings. By then this particular girl was annoyed at me so she gives me a table spoon worth of chicken. Oh, then the next guy takes over my sad chicken salad, I asked for "mild salsa", I moved over to the cashier. I looked at the salad which is not much at all, I complained then the cashier try to add more grilled veggies but the bin is empty and I have to wait..... I was on hurry so I did not take the offer however when I got home to eat it, the salad was covered with super spicy salsa. I picked chicken out and ate, rest into garbage can. The grilled veggie incidents are very common. Maybe they get pay deducted when they give away too much grilled veggies. Spicy salsa was my first experience, perhaps out of joke or sabotage, or plain stupidity of the employee. I would like to hope it was a sabotage, it takes more brain power to plan that out. Despite using Yelp regularly, I have never taken the time to write a review. However, today I feel compelled to provide some feedback about the Franklin Chipotle. I stopped in for a quick bite while my son was at practice, 645 pm on a Monday. I walked in to find only a few people ahead of me but it still took 20 minutes to order 1 salad. There was more than 7 staff members standing around with only one of them actually waiting on customers. I am unclear about what everyone was doing but to say that they had terrible service is an understatement. The family ahead of me had half of their meal comped as an apology for the long wait. As a regular patron of Chipotle I was sorry that I decided to stop into the Franklin location. read more

Congratulations. You have managed to create the smallest burrito of any Chipotle in the country. Don't take this the wrong way... I usually would rate Chipotle 4+ stars, but this was a disappointment. Send each of your staff members to any other location of their choice to see how it is supposed to be done. Additionally, one bottle of each sauce at the condiments bench is severely insufficient. This is the first time I have ever left a Chipotle restaurant hungry. And thirsty, because the chips were incredibly over-salted. The bigwigs of the chain should make undercover visits to this location in order to correct the many deficiencies relative to the standards of the chain. Boo!!!! read more

I lived near the original Chipotle in Denver back in the '90s. That was some good stuff. Since the McDonald's purchase the burritos have gotten smaller (by half) but the ingredients are still generally pretty good. But bad management & training can ruin even good ingredients, and this location was the saddest I've seen. My son and I both got barbacoa burritos. I watched the meat person shake off as much meat as possible from the tongs before putting the smallest portion I've ever seen on the burrito, maybe 2 oz if that. I asked for more. I'm not a pig. But I've seen a hundred of these made and they've all had twice that amount. He looked confused but complied. I then watched him roll the burrito so that all the meat was on one end and all the cheese & sour cream was on the other (it was also a loose mess). Ok, we left, got in the car, and my son said "they put the wrong salsa in mine and it's got way too much guac" (he asked for light guac and since he's young he probably didn't watch them too closely). He also said he'd had do ask for more meat as well. Ok, I took it back in and asked them to fix it, they said ok and made a new one. AGAIN I had to ask for more meat, and the manager lady was now watching the guy on the line and asked me "do you want double meat?" and she could tell by the look on my face I was not happy and I replied "your portions are very light" because I'm super polite and didn't even curse like a sailor which is my normal thing. Then I watched the guy roll the burrito in the same way, meat one end, guac on the other, and it was such a mess that the foil was all covered in slop. I re-rolled it in the car for my kid. So, they skimp on meat to try to cut food costs, and can't train their staff to roll a burrito. I know there are people who have it worse in the world. Just posting this as a warning to all those who might dare enter these dark doors. Don't. read more

I'm with Shane B. This is a perfectly legit Chipotle; not sure what happened with all those negative reviews. Yes, they are quite careful with meat and cheese allocations, but all Chipotles do that. But every burrito I have ordered is hot, tasty, made exactly the way I ask and is served cheerfully. I always want fresh jalapeños, and they always go to the kitchen and track it down for me. This franchise is better than most chipotles. The long lines of yesterday are gone. They have a steady stream of customers, but never a long line anymore. Most of the time, the servers are friendly, the place is kept well too. The only con is that the portions can vary quite a bit from person to person who is serving. read more

This morning my flight touched down at Hanscom Air Force Base from a fifteen month to deployment to Iraq. I really just wanted a warm steak burrito from Chipotle so on the way home my fantastic girlfriend stopped at the Franklin store. I was worried about catching Ebola from the food here, but I took the chance. Unfortunately, Ebola wasn't what I should have been worried about, it's the employees here. Rude? You want to talk about rude? Imagine a sarcastic, narcissistic, want-to-be bad girl thinking she's better than everybody. Here's the story, I was fighting for this little girls freedom for 15 months away from the comfort of my family and home while she sleeps in her princess bed at night and has mommy and daddy cooking all of her meals. Do you know what I ate, bags of instant milk and bags of assorted foods. I'm sure she doesn't understand. I paid over 20 dollars for my burritos and chips. I was ASTONISHED to find that the water at chipotle was dark brown. Then the rude employee has the audacity to accuse me of "stealing" soda. Excuse me? Your water is dirty and nasty! I was so infuriated, this Ginger was so rude to my significant other and I. The employees then congregated together and STARED AT US WHILE WE ATE. This was by far the worst restaurant experience of my life. These employees should be terminated immediately. Treating a service veteran so poorly, my mother would have slapped me. These kids need to be taught a lesson. I sincerely hope Chipotle management sees this and takes action. I will be reporting this to corporate and will NEVER be eating at a chipotle again because of the horrible service here. And I urge all of you who support your veterans to not eat at this chipotle. read more

We often try to frequent Chipotles after events across Massachusetts with positive experiences. The area tacos here contained the smallest amount of steak of any place we have seen. Quite amazing how little there was. Taste of burrito good and line ups small - maybe because word is out this is a sub par experience. read more

The selection of things to add to your burrito pales in comparison to Moe's. At Moe's the chips come with the meal - Chipotle you pay for a tiny bag. At Moe's you can have as much salsa as you want (all kinds) - Chipotle you pay for a tiny container. At Moe's the burritos are huge - they bend space-time and cram as much stuff in there as possible. Chipotle - they are obviously looking to save a few cents where they can. Given that there is a Moe's about two miles away .. I cannot imagine why anyone would go to chipotle and pay more for less. read more

I think it's funny all these review that say the dinning room is dirty or its long lines. If you've ever stopped to have a conversation with the employees you'd learn that, this location is the busiest next to Boston. This place used to be my fav. After tonight...I may just give up and go back to Moe's. The portion sizes were nothing...I barely got enough rice to fill a table spoon. They were out of steak and the guy prepping more would have been fired if he worked for me. He obviously doesn't realize he is in the service industry as he moved about as molasses with no care that they were busy. He was definitely marching to his own beat. I waited in line for 10 minutes to get the worst meal I have had in 6 months. The gentleman facilitating my order argued what a double portion is when I order this same thing at least 2 times a week. Christ, I know how to make my order in my sleep with the correct servings. To top it off not only were they out of steak but mild salsa and lettuce too! How is this guy supposed to complete my order without a support staff to help him. Not sure if the manager was on duty as it was 7 PM but if he/she was....that is where Chipotle should start to make changes. Have loved Chipotle in the past and have given the Franklin location 2 recent chances, no more. I agree with another review that says they put whatever they please in your burrito. Tonight's food was atrocious, cold without the requested cheese or salsa. It was a mushy cold mess of sour cream and some meat and beans, unequally dispersed. Cold sour cream in the middle and all the beans at one end...just terrible. The other meals were wrong also, one had sour cream when none was ordered and the other one was non-descript with none of the requested lettuce. We could not tell one meat filling from the other a or if there was any salsa of any kind in any of the burritos. If this chain is going to survive they better make some changes. This is the worst Chipotle I have ever been to. The entire restaurant was filthy. Tables were covered in trash, floor was disgusting, and there was plenty of staff goofing off in the back. One of the people goofing off was the manager! Bret was apologetic, but the fact that it was that out of control was inexcusable and i doubt he cared. Love this place. Moving from Southern California to Massachusetts was a big change and I was happy to have some nearly authentic mexican food to help with the adjustments. I'm not reviewing for the food as much as the service...the first time I went in, they asked me if it was my first time to which I replied yes, I ended up getting my first burrito free! It was so good. The next time I went in with a friend and I didn't order anything because I had no money, and when the manager came over to ask how the food was, he noticed I wasn't eating and gave me a burrito on the house! Worst Chipotle I have ever been to. On three straight occurrences they are out of main condiments for food. Tonight: Guacamole, last two times: CHEESE, how can you operate a Chipotle and be out of cheese or guacamole 3 hours before you close. Management is rude and atrocious, and the flow just does not work out- one person makes the entire order regardless of line (almost always out the door here- it is a converted Taco Bell). Chipotle is about to go downhill, the food is not that good, and the operations behind the business are beginning to fail (as you can see from these views). I agree with the other reviewers here who have left a poor review. This place is very loud and noisy inside. The acoustics are terrible. As you sit and eat, it's a cacophony of jabbering and noise. The interior is way too small, there is almost no decent place to sit and eat. The tables are always dirty and the service is slow. However, I've not had any trouble with the quality of the prepared food. I've had burritos there several times and it's always been acceptable quality. That said, if you want a truly excellent burrito, go to Anna's Taqueria in Brookline - it's much better food and it's worth the drive. read more

I got a chicken burrito bowl here (Franklin, Ma - Chipolte) for lunch and about an hour later started to vomit nonstop. It was my first meal of the day so I know it was the chipolte bowl that caused this. I've thrown up about 10 times in the last 2 hours and I am writing this review from my phone in my bathroom. I always get the same thing at this chipolte and have eaten here many times with no issues, but all it takes is one food poisoning incident to ruin your experience for life. I will never eat here again, I think the chicken was either undercooked and contaminated with bacteria or someone might not have washed their hands while preparing the food. The employees are mostly college aged kids who obviously do not take food safety too seriously. Please do yourself a favor and don't eat here, its like playing russian roulette, you might get food poisoning you might not, but why chance it..... read more
