This Chipotle fails to live up to the generally positive representation of the chain. The place is TINY as other reviewers note. It makes it impossible to dine in there while a the line for food is forming practically on your backside. I always have a problem with the food quantity that the staff provides- you always have to ask for more, which seems to exhaust the workers as they scoop a minuscule amount more of tomatoes onto the food. The staff has also bothered me recently. Reading other reviews, I see they have a high turnover rate. The staff have never been friendly at this store, and seem to only do the bare minimum to get your order going along. Today when I was there, it was empty, so the employees were messing around with each other and yelling in Spanish, making it hard for my server to hear my order. They were also all over each other, touching and whatnot- something that is both unprofessional and uncomfortable for the customer. I never thought I'd say these words, but I may be searching for the closest Qdoba soon. read more

Terrible. Ordered online. Did not receive guac on either burrito bowl. Kid's quesadilla wasn't even melted and we did not receive chips with it. When I called the store they said they're out of guac but offered no way to rectify the situation besides us requesting a refund online. We have an issue every single time we order food from this Chipotle location. read more

It's a smaller chipotle and can get crowded at peak hours but has always been clean. The staff is always very friendly and efficient. I have been coming here at least once a week for over a year, 70+ visits and never had a bad experience. The only real issue I have isn't necessarily with chipotle, it's the tap water in mount airy. Every time I had drank it my thyroids would swell and become irritated. I'm guessing a fluoridation issue with the city water. read more

The place is very small and if you go there lunch hour, you may not find a spot to sit. The food was good and the cashier was friendly. They didn't have spoon and as soon as I asked, they handed to me. I didn't use the bathroom, so I can't comment on that, but the tables and floor were clean and the store seemed to be well maintained. read more

NEVER order catering from this Chipotle!!! I placed an order for 45 people and it was never fully filled! My husband waited over an hour and had to just demand that they give him whatever they had. Spent $600 for an incomplete order filled by kids who couldn't have cared any less. read more

everytime i go to other chipotles they give me good portion of rice,chicken, beans but at this one every single time the same lightskin african older women gives me a small portion and if i ask for a little more rice she charges me extra? i think it should be less about portion control and more about kind service. it'd make sense if i asked for a whole 3 extra scoops but just asking to add more? the staff here doesn't seem happy at all either. read more

The Mt. Airy, MD location only does online orders. You cannot order in the restaurant. Not to mention, the employees are beyond rude. I walked in, thinking I could order something to eat, and was immediately greeted by a rude, Latino female. She didn't say hi, can I help you, nothing. She looked at me and with an attitude, said "online orders only, you gotta leave, order and come back". That was enough for me, I'd rather take my money to someone who is polite. Chipotle is yet another chain restaurant so my expectations are ... realistic. I think it's actually somewhat better than other chains, at least the ingredients are somewhat fresher, not everything is fried like many other chain restaurants. You mostly get beans and rice with your dish, meats are borderline ration size. This is not just my subjective opinion; during my last visit I watched the line manager(?) scold one of the servers on the line and show her how little (not how much!) meat to serve. For what you pay, not really worth it, but it is convenient so 3 stars. Mount Airy could really use a fresh-mex restaurant. read more

I love Chipotle! I have ever since its delicious nectar touched my pallet! I think this Chipotle meets all expectations. They give you hearty amounts of food, they are fairly quick, and the prices are always so fair! I have been in here on the busiest of nights and fly through the line. This place sucks, there was no lettuce, small portions, the staff smelled funny. Staff was borderline incompetent as they messed numerous parts of the orders and even couldn't roll a burrito properly. The cashier had a huge hickey on her neck and they didn't have Pepsi. They lead you to think that online orders are supposed to be picked up from the pickup shelf because the shelf is sitting in plain sight but you actually have to pickup online orders up from the front counter (which was never clearly explained and resulted in me waiting 15 minutes). Additionally the employees were having unprofessional conversations loud enough for customers to hear. Hopefully other people start to catch on to their poor service as well so that this place either changes or shuts down. This chipotle is pathetic and I'll never give it my business again. read more

The only reason why I give this location one star is because of the food and service. What made our experience bad was the seating and bathroom. Definitely NOT family friendly. No changing table in the restrooms. I had to change my baby in the hot car while constantly closing the door so people could park. Seating was horrible. People were rude, and could care less if you were disabled, old or had children- perfect representation of America right now. :-/ read more

I've actually never been to a Chipotle before, but I hope they're all not designed like this one. The place had all the ambience of a prison -- concrete floor, stainless steel trays, steel-top tables, and one whole side was a plywood wall which loomed out into the seating area (enclosing the restrooms, I think). Extremely uninviting. Carry-out might be the way to go. The food itself was decent, but $11 for a burrito bowl and a drink seems pretty steep. Staff was friendly and helpful. read more

This location is consistently the slowest and filthiest Chipotle's. If there is even 10 people in front of you, you know that it will be a long wait. Even though we live in Mount Airy, we travel the extra 6 miles to go to Chipotle in Damascus rather then visit the Mount Airy location. read more

Make sure you call before you go! Or better yet go somewhere else. My son flew in from Chicago and wanted Chipotle. We passed other locations so we could bring hot food home. We stopped at Mt Airy at 9:30pm on Saturday night and they were CLOSED ! Sign on the door says open til 10pm, but I guess they can't read their own sign. Disappointed ! Will never try this location again. The door was locked and the restaurant cleaned, so not like we just missed them. read more

This one star rating is for the Mt Airy store specifically. I've been to many Chipotle locations, and I actually love their burritos and bowls. One consistent at every other store is a plentiful portion. I've been to the Mt Airy location multiple times and have been disappointed by the portion size every time. Even my wife and daughter with pretty small appetites complain that they feel "ripped off". Imagine that! I've learned my lesson. Never spending another dollar at this location. read more

Smaller place compared to other chipotole's but still amazing food. I love their shredded beef and ask them to mix up your burrito it tastes so much better mixed up. Sometimes the line is kind of long, but they are usually pretty quick at getting people through. The only problem is that there really isn't that much space so the people in line usually bump the people sitting down. That's the only negative thing about this place. read more

I don't recommend eating here. Overall, the food quality was below Chipotle standards. At this one they didn't know how to make a kids' taco kit and the soda was watery. The food (veggie burrito and chicken tacos) was kind of bland, but otherwise was ok. read more

We are fans of the Chipotle chain, and you can expect the same good food at this location. We've always had good service here, but it is more efficient than friendly. Because of the physical constraints of this small location, eating-in may be problematic. We are surprised that we can almost always get one of their very few tables, even during their busiest times. (It definitely appears that most people are using carry-out.) It can be a bit odd when the line extends near your table and other customers are waiting just behind you as you are eating. To house the bathrooms, ugly plywood takes up half of the area. It looks like construction in-progress, but it has been that way for years. read more

Three stars just for being Chipotle. The food is excellent. But this is one of my least favorite ones. It's very tiny, seating is very limited (and communal), and they do call in orders right on the main line so it can be really slow. I hope they take over the closed up Quiznos next door to make it bigger. read more

I have been eating at Chipotle since the one in Frederick opened up. I have eaten at all but the newest Chipotle's in MD and many in other states. I have to say that Mount Airy Chipotle has the least consistent food of any I have eaten at. I still miss the Frederick Chipotle it has always been my favorite, but since we have one in Mount Airy, I don't drive there for it any more. I can't believe somebody said the chicken was mystery meat? Really compared to the other Mexican places, ANY I have been to in Maryland.. Chipotle has the least processed, healthiest food. I looked at a yelper's other ratings who said Chipotle's food was unhealthy, and they had given places like Ruby Tuesday's 5 stars. Really? You think Ruby Tuesday's is healthier than Chipotle? Yes a burrito has a lot of calories and salt, but no one told you that you had to eat the whole thing. Half a burrito is a meal. I share one with my son. This is a whole lot healthier than any other fast food. Chipotle tries to be more healthy than any other fast food joint. They could do better, and they work on it. The reason I think Mount Airy tends to be the worst, is they have a lot of turnover. I was back at the Frederick one recently and was disappointed to see that no one was the same. I think all Chipotle's are experiencing more turn over. I've never had a bad experience here. Always clean, and the people working are always nice and courteous. My only complaint is that the portions can be iffy and you have to ask for more occasionally. The place is also pretty small, but that's just because of location, so that isn't a big deal. Great place to eat. read more

Every time we go here, the rice is ridiculously undercooked. We have complained to management a few times, but the problem doesn't seem to have been remedied. Tonight my husband declared that we won't be getting food from this location again; the rice made our burritos almost inedible. :*( read more

Found a dead bug in my burrito. Their backdoor was wide open in the middle of summer night I guess allowing all sorts of bugs to fly in to the kitchen area. I will think twice before I eat there again if this kind of thing continues. read more

This is BY FAR the stingiest Chipotle I have ever been to and lacks seating on top of it. They consistently give meat servings which are half of the normal serving size at any other Chipotle. I suspect based on multiple experiences here, all of which have been this way, that the manager or owner is very cheap. Bypass this one and go to Frederick. read more
