Came in during the afternoon with my girlfriend and there was no line, so I thought it'd be a quick and good experience. Music was blasting for no reason, but thats whatever. While making her bowl, the employee (CJ -- long blue hair down to his back, not tied up) put red sauce on it even though she clearly asked for it on the side. Instead of just remaking it, he joked "it's only on half the bowl," which nobody laughed at, not even the cashier. Then he used both of his hands that did have gloves, to scoop through her bowl to take the sauce out and just put ingredients back in. At the time we didn't say anything, but about 30 minutes later we realized how unsanitary that was and came back. When I asked for a manager, it turns out CJ is the manager. He said he didn't remember the situation, wouldn't offer a refund, and told us to wait in line again behind 8-10 parties for their mistake. Only after I pushed back and expressed how crazy it was to wait in that long line did he agree to remake it. He kept insisting that scooping half of the food out of a customer's bowl with gloves is part of their training, instead of completely remaking it. At least use a spoon to get rid of 50% of the ingredients. Calling it "protocol" is hard to believe. Mistakes happen, but this could've been handled better, especially by a manager. Also, having long hair down to your back not tied up or covered while preparing food didn't come off very professional. At minimum, the bowl should've been remade immediately instead of trying to "fix" it, and the customer service when we came back was disappointing. If that really is the protocol, thats surprising, but then this still felt unsanitary to me. read more

This is the smallest burrito I've ever received from Chipotle, barely covering my hand. $20.70 for this, just the burrito. An hour and half of minimum wage for five bites of food. Even though this location has a drive through and a "burrito loading zone" for orders initiated through the app, I prefer to go inside to ensure my order is filled correctly. When you build your own burrito bowl, which is my preference, a lot can go wrong. The carne asada is my choice for protein. Despite a very steady flow of walk in customers and delivery pickups the staff were upbeat and functioned like a well oiled machine keeping a good flow going. I wanted to take advantage of this promotion for Chipotle a few weeks back and for whatever reason all of the ones within a 10 minute drive for me were closed due to short staffing or not accepting online orders.  This location was about 20 minutes from my home, but at this point I was craving Chipotle and was determined to get some, distance be damned. I placed my order online and put an arrival time at about 90 minutes later.  I arrived at the location and parking was wild.  Cars everywhere with no spaces to park and everyone just circling the parking lot over and over.  The line for indoor dining was wild as well extending to about 8 people outside of the door.  I walked in to pick up my order since I preordered.  I scanned the wall of web orders and did not see mine.  I asked staff if they could help me locate it in case someone might have walked out with my order.  I didn't realize it when I made my order, but this appeared to be a brand new Chipotle with all new staff which probably contributed to the less than ideal experience.  Manager informed me that my order would likely be another hour before it was made, or I could wait in the physical line and reorder the same thing and they'd cancel my web order without double charging me.   I decided to wait in the physical line, and there was roughly 25+ people in that line so it took quite a bit of time before I got to the front of the line.  Once I got to the front, you could tell the staff were just overwhelmed and stressed and I felt bad for them.  My food was prepared in the traditional Chipotle fashion with no further issues.   Not sure why there was a huge delay for web orders as the whole purpose of going through the trouble of doing a web order is minimal wait time.  I probably spent about 50 minutes that day in the store and missed a good portion of the first half of the Blazer game that I was intending on watching at home. She so unprofessional I couldn't get her name but she is the heavier angry rude lady in the back. now to the details my coworker took a last min trip out the country his way of buttering up to us was to buy us lunch for covering. we made an online order. there food was right but mine was mixed up somehow way to many toppings and I can't eat corn. not to worry its untouched ill take it back when I get off. ended up working late so went the next day. long story short she didn't care what happen she didn't care to hear it was either provide a receipt or buy it again. im far from a broke boy so I was ready to buy my lunch but it was the way she thought she talked down to me that turn my whole stomach. I was no longer hungry and was ready to leave everything and I did. if you hate your job go find something else to do. don't sit there and display such poor management and customer service skill in front of the kids that are moving out into the workforce. your setting a poor example is why I felt the need to address this issue. This Chipotle is never open when their official hours say they are open. They seem to think that because they are located right next door to food carts, they too can open or close whenever they feel like it. I've come here multiple Saturdays to see a piece of paper posted to the doors that say "We closed early today" just an hour after their opening time. I also come here on weekdays, the hours posted on their door say that they open at 10:45am. I usually arrive close to noon to a closed Chipotle and always see a handful of other people try to go inside only to find out the door is locked. I've had to find else something to eat at the last minute so many times. It is even more inconvenient when this happens on my lunch breaks. This is a national chain, not a local food cart. Ordered a veggie bowl with brown rice, beans, corn salsa, guacamole, NO lettuce, and NO cheese. What I got was a bowl swimming in liquid red salsa, a couple of beans, lettuce, cheese, a teaspoon of rice, and NO GUAC. The other items on the order looked like they were prepared, by a 5-year-old. The only thing accurate on this order were the chips. The delivery driver was polite and on time, the rest is really infuriating. I hate to think you have to order on-site, micro-managing every spoonful to get what you actually want. Avoid ordering for delivery from this location (35th and SE Powell) if you're not able to return it or make it right. I can't believe I am writing a Yelp review for a Chipotle, but here is my story. It's 1:30pm. I'm running late for lunch, and my car is broken.. so I decide I should order delivery. I'm in the mood for a burrito. Chipotle is easy and fast, right? So I ordered a chicken burrito on DoorDash and it was being fulfilled at this location. Around 30 minutes later, the order was cancelled with no explanation. Curious, I try to find a way to ask DoorDash support what happened. They give me zero opportunity to talk to a human about a cancelled order. I decide I have nothing to lose. I place the same order again through the official Chipotle app (which as far as I know uses DoorDash as the courier). Order cancelled, no explanation. Now I try calling the location. I'm in robot support menu purgatory. Absolutely no way to reach a human. Spamming the "0" button makes the robot say "okay" repeatedly in a funny way. At this point, I'm fixated on finding an answer to why my burrito can't be made. I'm also getting refunds every time I do this. Someone, somewhere, is seeing me put the same order in over and over, and cancelling it. If I can't contact a human, maybe that person will reach out to me. I order a third time. A change: this time the order is coming from a different location. Ten minutes later, the burrito is on its way. So the only conclusion here is that not only was this location closed at 1:30pm on a Tuesday, they did not bother to tell their couriers. I think they lost like $50 on refunding me. I was excited that a Chipotle was opening up in SE Portland. There's definitely a time and place for easy burritos for the family, plus hey a drive through can be a good thing! Sadly this location disappoints. I'm not quite sure what is wrong but I've tried many times and have to conclude that this location seems to be pretty badly mismanaged. I've yet to have an issue-free experience. I've waited forever in the drive through line - seriously one person at the window for over 15 minutes while my food was ready for pickup presumably getting cold. I've gone there at 6pm on a Wednesday to find it totally closed. I have had stale tortillas and ingredients out of stock several times. They are not trained to differentiate burritos by writing on them...I guess you just have to grab and start eating to tell what is what. I hope the management reads reviews and gets their act together. I really want it to thrive and not go under because of issues that could be fixed with better management. read more

I don't like to write negative reviews. Not so much because I'm concerned about the company, I'm more concerned about the workers. Workers first. But I also don't want others to experience what I experienced. I submitted my online order tonight for three chicken tacos with a corn (vs wheat) shell. The lady who handed me my order gave me the order quickly and order was on time. The main concern about the order I picked up my the taco shell. The shell wasn't corn, it was flour, not the taste I want and not what I ordered. I may have a health condition, so even including a post it note or handwritten note that says "flour" (or "gluten") just some warning. That would be a minimum. Perhaps logistically the company was short staffed. That responsibility, much like with training or supplies, falls with the company and the manager for that location. There were also a couple pieces of either excessively spicy or overcooked chicken. It was, or those pieces were definitely off. This isn't something I normally experience at Chipotle but it's also not okay. I would rather ordered lower quality, but better flavor, at a taco truck. The slightly better health standards, what I consider very basic meat quality, is the reason I order at Chipotle. Needs improvement. read more
