Been a customer for some time now and I love this place. It is very reliable which I truly appreciate in the food industry. I do not want a hit or miss place. I know with Tecos it's not going to knock my socks off but it will hit the spot. I had the giant breakfast burrito this morning and it will take me all day to eat it, it's so big! I had the ham and bacon - so I expected salty with those options and it wasn't too salty. And their green sauce - it's liquidy with a hit of heat and so flavorful. Very disappointing, I had been wanting to try this little spot for sometime, but it definitely wasn't what I expected. mind you I didn't order tacos I got the cheese enchiladas. Sauce was canned for sure. no flavor and the cheese on top and in the enchiladas was like plastic and not even melted. I ended up saving them for later and tried to reheat them to melt the cheese but still it wouldn't melt. Really made me feel like this was a artificial cheese. Circa 10pm my gf and I started watching a Netflix doc about tacos despite having eaten a whole pile of korean fried chicken earlier. We got a hankering for tacos and hopped on the Yelp machine. I was fascinated by Teco's menagerie of high and low reviews. Upon further examination I noticed the low reviews were primarily by entitled suburban Karen's, they reeked of unbridled Caucasity. Let me tell you, this place is tremendous. The carne asada fries were a legit mountain of flavor. We paired this culinary journey with beef and chicken tacos, and my god did we over order. The salsas provided a level of heat that I was not entirely prepared for, but it was a nice surprise, like finding money in your socks. The service was excellent, food came out quickly and girl at the drivethru was very friendly. 10/10 would return and over order. read more

So here I am in Portland attending some IT meetings. The group went out to a brewery and being that I am so sick of eating hamburgers I decided to pass on this one. I started walking down Powell Street and I came across a nice Mexican restaurant so I thought I would come in and give it a try. To my surprise they offered a great deal for me I had to pretty good sized sides of grilled chicken and grilled steak with a full avocado as well sliced. The chicken was cooked perfectly well seasoned chopped nicely and delicious it had that nice bit of char as well as a great taste the company it was a Kearny Asada was also very hot and delicious and moist as well you have a card it was fresh and cut perfectly. Next to the counter there is a refrigerated bin that has your choice of many salsas as well as Carrots onions and peppers everything was delicious the hot sauce it was hot perfectly spicy and the green salsa was good as well they both accompanied my meats excellently. This place is very convenient to where I'm staying so I will probably come here for breakfast as well as dinner several times during my visit this place is a gem. The girl at the counter is very kind and patient and the cooks are fast and the cook good food I am sure the burritos and everything else are delicious. read more

I used to live in North Portland and I had my go-to taco place over there, now I live in southeast and this is where I get my tacos. Change can be difficult, but I was really happy to find quality Mexican food in my new neighborhood, and it has a drive-thru which is really convenient for pandemic times, and even when there's a little bit of a line the the wait is never that long. There are quite a few things we've tried, some of our favorites are the breakfast burrito, it's a great value for a huge portion and you can customize it with your protein or make it vegetarian, and tacos. I tend to get the carnitas and/or chicken. The asada is not my favorite however my sister really enjoys it so that's one of her go-to's. I don't think you can really make a bad choice on the menu, their salsas are delicious. One thing that's interesting is when you order their chips and guacamole they serve it like nachos but cold. So tortilla chips with a layer of guacamole, sprinkled with shredded cheese. It's very good, but it won't keep very long because your chips are going to get soggy, that's a concern for you you may want to see if they could do your guac on the side. read more

This review is solely based on the taste and quality of the food, and the service that I received. Late night, staying in Portland for the night, I ran to Walmart to get an extra pillow and thought to myself-- I want a street taco, cause that's what people do at midnight when in a big city, right?!? So, I typed Mexican food in Yelp and used the open now option to sort through the unopened establishments and stumbled upon Tecos. I am glad I did-- thanks, YELP! We went over and went through the drive-through. It is a tight fit so no vehicles too big-- The ordering was easy, the menu is bright, the staff is friendly, the cost wasn't too bad, but the taste is what killed this place in all good ways. The food was great portioned, seasoned, fresh and well, overall good. Stop by here and get yourself some good food! read more

Cheese enchiladas with rice & beans was not even close to what I'd had prior. Also, ordered a taco salad for a friend that was tasteless. The shell was bitter and cooked in oil that should have been replaced a month ago. If it's too much for the restaurant to serve guac right now please take it off the menu. Literally looks like green food dye was added to the guac to make it less brown as it's old.
