If I could give more than 5 stars I would. My wife and I came to Chiriya on the first night of our honeymoon and it was the perfect choice. We started off with a grilled romaine salad. Who knew that you could grill romaine? It was tossed in a house made lime and lemongrass juice and sprinkled in parmesan cheese. I didn't think we would finish the big serving of romaine but it was so delicious we couldn't help it. I ordered the chicken massaman curry and let me tell you, WOWZERS. I am thoroughly impressed. The curry was deep and smooth, rich with flavors, and the vegetables (a combination of carrots, potatoes, green beans...) were also delicious. My wife got the pad thai with beef and that was also delicious. Plenty of noodles, sprouts, and peanuts. The sauce was not too overwhelming (you know how it goes, sometimes the sauce turns the dish into a big pile of mush). My wife also ordered the Hawaiian iced tea which was pineapple juice, lemon juice, a little bit of ginger, mint, and crushed strawberries. I barely got a sip in before it was finished. We would return to Chiriya and actually considered eating there a second time during our vacation. Overall, the food was delicious and the service was great, too. The server was very responsive to my shellfish allergy and made sure that the food would be safe for me to it. I find that this is rare in most restaurants. We were charged $3 to replace the white rice with brown rice which is not something I would do again and in general, the food is a little expensive but we have no regrets. Delicious Thai food just outside of Savannah. I had the Tom Yum with noodles and shrimp. I also added bean sprouts and it was delicious and perfect for a night I was feeling just a little under the weather. It opened me right up and cleared my throat. I also had the Thai tea which was nice...they served it with whipped cream on top ..something I had not seen before. I had the green hot tea and our server was nice enough to offer me honey since I had already told her my throat was itchy. We had the shrimp dumplings as an app which was very good. My husband had the Pad Se Wee which he loved and it had great flavor....we had kept the dipping sauce from the shrimp dumplings in case he needed it to flavor his meal but there was no need for it. I order food from this place on a regular. I've lived around the area for a while and just tried this place for the first time about 6 months ago and I've been over a dozen times since then. The house special noodles are delicious, the spring rolls are amazing and home made. Everything from the curries, to the pad thai, to the garlic meat is tasty. My favorite restaurant so far, since living here in Savannah; the past 7 years. My go to dish is Chiriya's special noodles w/ chicken and lime. Every bite is a bust of fresh citrus, savory chicken and cilantro; without it being too rich or over powering. Their Thai tea is also great. This was hands down one of the worst restaurant experiences I've every had. Boyfriend ordered the special duck for $30 and it was literally ice cold, the meat. Our waitress pushed us into ordering quickly at 908 when they closed at 930 (on a Friday night). She never came back to the table after leaving our food and I had to flag down another server after 15 minutes. Her only comment about the inedible duck was oh ok I'll take it back. There was Not one word of apology. He had to eat off plate of paf se ew which was average at best. Our appertizer showed up in 2 minutes and was clearly Frozen or refrigerated then brought out. We were blown away! I got the pineapple curry and my mom got the green curry. I loved both, but would order pineapple curry if I went back. We ordered summer rolls and they were great as well! Okay Thai food. I got the pad ke mao with chicken. It was good, but it was almost too creamy and they used cilantro instead of basil. They also altered the spiciness with chili powder which I thought was a bit odd...but they did have the traditional chili sauce on the side for me to add which was nice. For appetizers we got the shrimp egg rolls which were also just ok and kind of greasy. I know I shouldn't be expecting the most authentic stuff in Savannah, and I might be too picky, but I will probably only come back just to try the Hawaiian fare. read more

This place is good, but I'm sure there are better Thai places in Savannah. I ordered basil chicken, which was pretty good, but no better than other Thai restaurants that I've visited. My husband ordered some type of curry, I'm not sure which one, but it tasted very sweet. I know some curries are meant to be a little sweet, but this was too noticeably sweet. We ordered Thai tea and Thai iced coffee, both had good flavor, but were extremely sweet. I've never seen other restaurants top their Thai tea or coffee with whipped cream either, so this combined with the really sweet taste was a little over the top for me, but those with a sweet tooth might enjoy. read more

This is my go to Thai in Savannah but this is the second order in a row that was wrong. What is worse is I was fully expecting a nice spicy panang and instead got a spice less massaman loaded with potatoes. The extra side of rice I got was also a rubbery cake consistency. The restaurant is nice looking and comfortable. The menu is a bit interesting with the Thai/Hawaiian mix and then also having a Korean bulgogi? Outside of the satay, I found all of the preparations to be very heavily sweetened - to excess. Yes, Thai food may have some sugar but it is to balance flavors, not to be dominant in most cases. The portions were quite large. The presentation was very beautiful. The ingredients were good. But I did not find the flavors to be particularly representative of food I've had in Thailand, made by my friend's Thai wife or other authentic Thai restaurants. I went to Chiriya for lunch and it was amazing. On the outside, the restaurant doesn't look like much but it is very nice inside. Our server was very nice and accommodating, and even allowed us to substitute items in the menu. The best part about Chiriya was the food. This was the best Thai food I have had in a long time. They had another location prior to this one and one day the owner was extremely rude to me , over a discount deal I was using . Even though had met the conditions for the coupon she was still mean , I promised myself never again would she get another dime from me . Okay fast forward a few years I've mellowed and the location had changed so I decide to give her business another try . Yes I can say that I'm happy my stubborn attitude allowed me to mend fences and go in . The food was always first class and I'm happy to report it still is , they give you so much food there's no way you'll be able to finish so expect leftovers which warmup nicely. The one thing to avoid is their calamari which wasn't very good & even with that they still get five stars . Very slow service. it felt like we were invisible to them. I had to get up twice and ask for water as food was extremely spicy. Parking is a issue- they have very few dedicate spots so you have to be lucky or take your chances to park on someone else's property! We ordered tofu soup, fried rice and cashew curry. tofu soup came after 45 mins and no service in between. they forgot spoons! so we asked another server as our server was invisible! food came after 1 hour 20 mins! No kidding and guess what they messed up order! We have to get up to tell them about order and they said- do you want money back or want to order again but it will take another 10 mins. at this point we were so hungry I said please bring it correct order. and we mean time we had cashew curry which turned out super hot!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I eat spicy food but this was painful :) and no water..finally got up and asked for water!! by the time correct order came out I already had stomach ache!! tofu soup --yes do yourself favor and don't order tofu here! I am vegetarian so don't have much option :( I did not have much time in Savannah and wasted almost 2 hour 30 mins there :(( (went at 7 and left after restaurant closed ) one start is for Hawaiian fried rice as it was ok compare to other food!
