This is my third treatment so far for my pain on my neck, and lower back after a preinstalled bunk bed detached from the wall and threw me to the floor, and I am a happy patient! The front agents, John and Michelle, who help out with the after therapy too are friendly, informative, and they pay pronounce my name perfectly (two words: Sung Hee, pronounced as it's spelled), which tells me they make an effort for their patients and are detailed oriented. Dr. Hicks is amazing too. This is my first chiro therapy so I don't have much to compare to, but as picky as I am, if I have no complaints and I'm feeling better after two treatments, I am more than satisfied! Dr. Hicks made hard impacts into my ruptured disk after telling me to be careful with it myself. I would scream in pain and nothing got better. There was no warm up or anything and it caused lots of pain after each of the 5 visits. After I notified them I wouldn't be coming back, they sent no final bill despite over-charging me during my visits. 2 Months passed and they still didn't send a bill despite me asking them. I had to come in and complain for a second time and they promised to manually put together a bill for me that outlined the charges for my visits but didn't actually have a billing system that would do that automatically. In trying to get a copy of my x-rays, they offered to charge me $25 for a CD! I brought a thumb drive and after arguing, they agreed to copy the files on to it for free... but the specific person who knows how to do that was gone, and I would have to come back a second time. Who runs a system like that? Why don't they have an online patient portal with all their billing and test results like most modern offices? On top of questionable medical practices, these guys work with CDs, fax machines, and lack a modern billing system and practice dubious billing ethics all together. Had an appointment at 9:15am called at 9:15am to notify them I would be 10-15 min late and was told by the receptionist it was okay. He was rude. As I arrived and checked in at 9:25 am the person at the front desk said I would need to reschedule because my apply was already half over ? How? It was a 10 min difference. This place seems to be unorganized and lacks customer service especially the front desk who does not give a fuck. Due to the construction in the building I was not able to find the office, there is very little direction. I would recommend the front desk to be more friendly and understanding after all it is a service where you are required to be friendly and compassionate towards patients. I would not recommend this place they lack communication, compassion and just a personality. I'll take my money elsewhere. read more

I saw Dr. Yang a month after I had my baby because I was having a lot of discomfort. Feeding, pumping, and carrying the baby were hurting my wrists and throwing my posture off, which was probably still out of whack from being pregnant. Dr. Yang was knowledgeable about how pregnancy and caring for a baby affects the body, so she was very helpful in spotting and addressing the issues. In addition to the in office visits, she provided a lot of helpful tips and exercises for me to work on at home. I was only in San Francisco for a limited time to be with family during my maternity leave, so I could only see Dr. Yang for about a month and a half; but I did see improvement during my short time. I also saw Dr. Hicks once, and he was great as well. My husband saw him too for a stiff neck, which was addressed effectively on our last day in San Francisco. The office itself is really great too. Nice location downtown with validated garage parking - it was so easy to get in and out for appointments. The front desk staff is really nice and easy to communicate with. Their appointment reminder system with emails and text were very helpful. Insurance was processed much faster than any other medical provider I've visited. read more

Well it was not, they billed my insurance then wanted 10.00 co-pay, after calling them was told sorry, we will take care of it, they lied again, I then get a bill for $170.00 And then turned me over to collections, after I tried to straighten out the mess they caused. This location lied to my face, twice! I was told twice in two weeks I only owed $10 each for the copay to find out I was not covered and now owe over $200! I was referred to the other Chiro-Medical practice in Embarcadero, but they were booked solid and I was in a lot of pain in my neck and back, and needed immediate help. Chiro-Medical Group Express were able to accommodate me in the afternoon where I supplied my health insurance and filled out a profile prior per their request. Exam was only about 20 minutes and when leaving was asked for my $10 co-pay. Left and the next morning I already felt better. I scheduled a follow-up for the following week to be safe per the chiropractor's request. This visit was only about 15 minutes and again, was charged $10 for my copay. Then, all of a sudden, multiple weeks after my first visit, I'm now being told I don't have this covered on my current insurance and owe an additional $220. Why would this now be coming up, weeks later? Why was my insurance not identified after my first visit or upon completion on my application? Why is there no responsibility from the Chiropractor that was trying to get me to secure multiple appointments for the future? This location seemed to only care about securing more money and not about my actual health. The staff was friendly, but felt very sleezy the whole time. If you can find another option, go there - I don't trust this place and neither should you! read more

I want to add an update to my review. I have seen Dr. Yang for almost two years. I've seen her for my ankle sprain, shin splints, lower back pain and chest pain. Anytime I had a pain, I always went to her for help. As always, she has been great on identifying the cause of the pain, explaining things and finding a good approach to solve the pain. Recently, I had an ACL and a meniscus tear. Becuase of that, I walked differently, more in a wrong way, and my pelvis was off, holding up my muscles really tight. I know a lot of people would recommend to stay at home and not try any adjustment. However, I trust Dr. Yang. Again, she was amazing. She helped adjust my pelvis so I could exercise my muscles in a right way. I've seen her every week before my ACL surgery to make sure nothing is off. That helped me stay in a good position and make the best use of my pre-hab exercises. Chiro-Medical Group Express also has the best staffs, John and Michelle, They are on top of everything, like check-in/out, scheduling and insurance co-pays etc. Here it is also insurance friendly. I've switched three insurances and I am always able to continue using Chiro-Medical Group Express without the need to worry about my bills. I've recommended Dr. Yang and Chiro-Medical Group Express to my friends and colleagues and they all came back saying good things. read more

I was looking for a new chiropractor since my previous one is not as "great"....no test, nothing. It was literally just "oh, you need that fixed? Sure!". Crack here and there, done. So, I looked around online and found out about this place. I went to the non-Express one for physical therapy before, so I feel like it should be a good bet. They put me for an appointment with Dr. Tracy Yang. First day, she just assessed me and did some tests. I was surprised by my previous chiropractor didn't do it. One of the things that made me like this place is that Dr. Yang was able to tell me that my hip is a bit torqued. Every time I squat at the gym, I could feel like I kinda lean towards one side a little bit. I did not tell her about that and she found out about it just by feeling my spine etc. To top it off, she does not even just do adjustments, she also showed me various exercises to help me improve my conditions. I started coming to this place in early December 2017, and now I feel like my neck and hip are a lot better. Plus, the front desk staffs are great as well. They're really friendly. read more

I'm an insurance professional who works from home full-time. A few months ago I started experiencing acute pain in my upper right back/neck/shoulder from what I beleive was the result of simply a bad ergonomic set up of my computer desk. It quickly became so intense that no position was comfortable, and it began to really affect all aspects of my life: sitting, standing, lifting my arms up to shower & dry my hair, even sleeping was very painful. I've been seeing Dr. David Hicks for a few weeks now. I was a bit hesitant to see any chiropractor as I lived in 'fear' of the unknown. I have to say - I had to laugh at myself after this experience because I don't think I would have healed this quickly had I not gone this route. Long overdue 5 stars here. Dr. Hicks is a lifesaver. I had a nasty neck injury skiing and ignored the problem for way to long. Finally after seeing the doc, I started improving dramatically. I started treatment at Chiro Medical Group after injuries from a cycling accident left me with a herniated disc in my lower back. After my treatment progress at the (also excellent) 1st Street office plateaued, I was referred to Chiro Medical Express for their DRX (spinal decompression) machine. I can't speak highly enough of the team at this office. They're so awesome I went to the trouble of creating a yelp account, just to talk about how awesome they are. My experience has been absolutely stellar from the first moment I walked in the door. The office team (The fantastic Nicole and John) are friendly, personable, smart, professional and perfectly competent every time. They're also killer conversationalists. I could talk to Nicole for hours. Dr. Nick is absolutely wonderful, and beyond being great at what he does, is genuinely caring and acutely aware of patient progress. He's extremely straightforward with setting treatment expectations, making appropriate exercise recommendations for each stage of progress, and ensuring that you know what to expect. Before I my treatment here, I was afraid that I'd have to resort to surgery to get back to normal, but the rate at which I've improved has been startling. Halfway through my treatment program, and I feel 99% better. The entire staff has been absolutely on the ball with my treatment, and caring and attentive to my progress over time. Dr Shah is the best! I came to the office because I had severe upper back and neck pains and limited mobility turning my head. Dr Shah carefully listened to my issues and gave me the proper adjustments to get me moving again. He is easy to talk to and someone cracking your bones can be scary but he put me at ease. I just had my first visit an hour ago with Dr. Nicholas Grant, and I have to say I am very, very pleased with his service and execution. John was very friend and greeted me very well - assisted with warming up, which was a first time for me and amazing to have. I have lower left back pain from sitting too much at work and my weekly ~3mi run on treadmill for health I hope would be easy on my body. However, the pains that hinder me even moving around or easily getting out of bed. After he cracked my lower back, the strain isn't there so much anymore. I am satisfied. This review is for Dr. Shah and the front desk team - they are simply the best out there. Going to any sort of doctor has never been a comfortable experience for me, prior to coming to see Dr. Shah. First of all, this express location is awesome - very convenient for those in SF's Financial District. Initially I was making the (relatively short) trek to the 1st Street location, which wasn't too terrible but I much prefer the layout and convenience of the Embarcadero location. To start, John and Nicole are always so pleasant and accommodating. They have great sense of urgency and are engaging in their patient interaction, making the overall experience that much more enjoyable. Dr. Shah is the third chiropractor I've been to and I'm hoping is the last - unless he relocates which would be disappointing for FiDi! I've been seeing Dr. Shah for almost a year now (this review is LONG overdue) and from his professionalism to his practice, he's been very consistent through and through! He has always been swift to diagnose my back issues, which makes me confident to continually come back, even just for preventative care visits. When I leave a visit with Dr. Shah, I know that I'm leaving with the proper knowledge and appropriate exercises to better my condition - he knows what he's doing! Another great quality is that I never feel rushed! I personally, as I'm sure many do, dislike it when I'm being rushed through an appointment. Dr. Yang and her staff are incredibly helpful, kind, and knowledgable. I came in with a persistent issue that they were able to better educate me on and provide relief. When I had a sudden flare up one day, they were able to fit me in same day to make sure my pain was addressed and best help in my recovery. I've been seeing Dr. Shah for a few months now. He's been great in helping with my hip alignment issue. Very professional, friendly and knowledgeable. The staff is wonderful as well. I came to see Dr. Yang after I felt neck/shoulders/ back pain and tightness from sitting, driving, computer work (and wearing heels; I can't give that up). I had to do something different from my normal monthly massage. Being new to chiropractic work I choose a female provider for a more gentler approach. I've been going to Executive Express Chiro for years now. It's really conveniently located by my work, and making appointments is a breeze. Been through several chiropractors at this location now, and I've enjoyed working with them all! They are friendly and professional, and most importantly, keep my body working the way it's supposed to. My favorite part of my appointments is the warm-up, which is basically a mini-massage. I wish I could go in just for a warm-up in between visits. haha Dr. Supreet Shah took over this office a couple months ago and instantly impressed me by being the first to recommend taking an X-ray on my neck. He was able to identify an underlying cause for my chronic neck and shoulder pains, explain to me what wasn't working, and scare me enough (in the nicest way possible) to actually do the assigned stretches and exercises between visits. Originally had to come in b/c of a stiff neck and on-and-off pain around my right traps. It was my first time trying chiro, so I was skeptical at first, but after a little more than 4 sessions with Dr. Shah now, I have not felt better before. Dr. Shah was quick to diagnose the problem and used a variety of techniques and tools (progressively) to help me regain my range of motion, relieve pain, and strengthen the areas that caused the problem(s) in the first place. Dr. Shah listens carefully to my concerns, keeps close track of my progress on his tablet, and follows-up appropriately with the right combination of chiropractic adjustments, stim machine, and the exercises. I was especially blown away by the impact that Dr. Shah's simple exercises/techniques have had on my recovery, most notably the lacrosse ball and foam rolling exercises that have since become my go-to exercises when pain creeps back up. John and Nicole at the front desk deserve huge cudos as well - they were very easy to communicate with when it came to insurance coverage and scheduling and were always courteous on and off the phone. John also happens to be GREAT at what felt like a gentle shiatsu massage. Sometimes he'd do that to get me warmed up before an appointment - that was a real treat. I enjoy going here and it has truly helped me recover. Best of all, it's taught me a lot of things I can do outside the visit that has helped me maintain the improvements I've made. I can't say enough good things about the care I've received at Chiro-Medical Group Express from Dr. Tracy Yang. I initially came to Dr. Yang on the recommendation of a good friend for what I thought was an isolated issue with my lower back due to a long flight followed by some heavy furniture rearranging. It soon became very clear that I was actually suffering from chronic injuries and imbalances with my spine that had been exacerbated by the recent activity. Dr. Yang helped devise a treatment plan that focused on correcting the structural issues, strengthening the surrounding muscles, and alleviating pain in the meantime. Throughout my sessions, she was responsive to the way/speed my body reacted, provided lots of explanation, and gave me a variety of exercises and stretches so I could improve more quickly and feel empowered in between appointments. Her comprehensive and well paced treatment has been a game changer for me-- not only is my back in the best shape it's been in a long time, my posture is better and I'm experiencing far fewer migraines. As if the physical results aren't enough, the office is also a very friendly and motivating environment-- I don't think there's been a session yet where I wasn't laughing (and that's even with some grueling IT band work!). I have been to the other location many times over the past several years. My wife and I have always gone there for our sports injury needs. This time I ended up with a very painful lower back...with an Ironman only 11 days away at the time of the problem. I initially went to this location because the other was booked, however I'll continue to go because of the service and results. The front staff was welcoming and friendly, and their office is very nice. Walking into the room Dr. Shah was friendly and easy to talk to. We discussed the problems I was having and my serious concerns for the race I have coming up. He explained in detail what the problem was, then did an adjustment, and asked me to come back the next day. In just one visit I went from being in constant awful pain to essentially no pain. I've been back for more visits since then for tuneups as I get nearer the race, but I cannot express enough thanks for what Dr. Shah was able to do. It went beyond just adjustments. This review is for Dr. Shah, John, and the DRX decompression table. A few months ago, I herniated a disc in my cervical spine (C5/6). I was bedridden for about two weeks due to nerve compression, extreme pain, numbness in my forearm and thumb, and weakness in my entire right arm--I could hardly hold my head up or pick up heavy things and I was taking narcotic pain meds around the clock. After getting an MRI and epidural steroid injection (at another medical facility), I had enough range of motion and decreased pain to start getting adjustments to my neck and decompression therapy. I found Chiro-Medical Express which is conveniently located next to my office. Here we are, about 8 weeks later and 9 visits in and I am 100% pain free, able to do just about everything I was doing before my herniated disc, I have no numbness in my thumb/arm, and my strength has significantly increased. Dr. Shah spends a lot of time with me. He does very precise and simple (but highly effective) adjustments. And he teaches me exercises, stretches, and ball-massages that are supposed to help me long-term. He seems to really care about me getting better. John, the technician at Chiro-Medical express, is also very knowledgeable of the tools and equipment they use (the DRX and cold-laser) and, in general, he's just a pleasure to be around. I know that going to a chiro office is not necessarily supposed to be a relaxing experience, but I look forward to every appointment, as it's my time to loosen up, listen to music, interact with great people, and get my neck stretched out!
