I wish I had taken photos of everything we ordered, but we all dug in way too fast. We got the chili crisp pork nachos during happy hour, really good with a nice kick of spice. The pastor tacos (also happy hour) were by far the best pastor tacos I've ever had. Super flavorful and cooked perfectly. We also tried the lettuce wraps. They were good, but probably not something I'd order again. The fried chicken sandwich was solid, juicy, flavorful chicken, and I loved that it came with fries since that's becoming rare in Napa. The burger was also good, again with fries (much appreciated). THE STAR: the octopus. WOW. So tender with the perfect balance of flavor. It was the only dish I managed to take a photo of because the presentation was beautiful and honestly better than any octopus dish I've had in the valley. 10/10!! I came here with my family for a birthday dinner and we were a party of five. I would definitely consider this restaurant more of a date night spot for up to two people because it is small inside. However, there weren't a ton of people in there so a larger party like ours thankfully worked. I was a little bit confused by the menu because I felt like it was attempting to be a fusion restaurant of some sort. Flavor profiles ranged from Asian cuisine to Italian and to Mexican/Latin. That being said everything that we ate was delicious. I do feel like some of the entrées felt a little bit incomplete. For example, the octopus dish was very good, but clearly needed a vessel to soak up all of the rich sauce. A side of rice would've gone a long way had it been included in the entrée. Our server and the bartender were amazing though. They came over and checked on us regularly, refilling our waters as needed, and took a group photo of us more than once lol. This was such a great option for Happy Hour during a recent girls trip to Napa! Standout service, wonderful food, and gorgeous cocktails. SERVICE: Our waitress was awesome, she was able to look at a recipe on our phone and craft a cocktail that was so incredible! I felt very taken care of throughout our experience. FOOD: I loved the taro chips that came with the guacamole. Such a unique addition to what is otherwise a simple appetizer. We also ordered the happy hour nachos. I found the queso to be slightly underwhelming but the pickled onions and other toppings definitely made up for this. DRINKS: In addition to the custom cocktail, our table also ordered the "guava cup" which was not too sweet. I had a non-alcoholic drink (iced tea): perfectly refreshing. We love this place for a drink. We haven't tried the food but this was our second visit and the bartenders are all super knowledgeable. Our favorite part is that they will ask you questions about what you like and prefer and bring you a cocktail crafted for you. They have always hit it out of the park. The restaurant is always super clean and organized, staff attentive and our water glasses were never empty. Their happy hour looks like a great deal-- we just haven't made it during the hours. We were curious of the Iguana Juice because of the guanabana, but it was currently 86'd so we'll have to try it next time. Enjoyed a dinner date on a Wednesday night and loved the experience. It was open seating and not too busy as we showed up around 6pm. You can make reservations in advance which helps if it does get busy. We started with a round of cocktails - many are tequila or mezcal based and they are very creative! We came here on a whim Saturday night after trying to make 7:00pm reservations (which was all booked). We walked in and were able to get a high top table near the bar immediately. There were plenty of tables available so don't be afraid to walk in if your preferred eating time isn't available for reservations online. We enjoyed the food and the cocktails. The ceviche was fresh and the accompanying chips were crispy and went well with the ceviche. The calamari was good, and the steak was good but like another Yelper mentioned.... The "cooked" chimichurri doesn't really pair well with the steak. I think it would taste a lot better if the steak was topped with a fresh chimichurri instead. The service was great and the vibe is perfect for a date night or a dinner out with friends. Chispa was a stop on our pedal bus experience and we were so glad it was! When we got there, it was happy hour so we definitely took advantage of the $3 oysters and $10 house margaritas. We sat at the bar and got to watch the bartenders work their magic. Now this place was chic and modern, the decor was beautiful and we were told a private party was about to happen after our group left. With the many options of intimate seating, bar top, and indoor and outdoor tables, we can easily see how you'd want to host an event there. I'm a regular at chispa, however my experience with the bar tender Yazmin was very disappointing. I asked for my tab twice and she never brought it to me. After waiting for a while, Ramon stepped in, helped me, and checked me out promptly. As I was leaving, Yazmin tried to stop me and claimed I hadn't paid, even though I had already paid through Ramon because she never brought me my tab after multiple requests. She saw me waiting and looking toward her because I wanted to let her know I had already paid, but instead of checking with me, she walked to the other side of the bar and started cleaning glasses. Came on a Sunday night to hang with my girls and had some great drinks and great bites! The interior is super cute! Nice, clean, and elegant (but not to the point where you look out of place if you come in some jeans). I love how the bar is central where guests are seated. Their drink menu had some good variety to it. Among the fave cocktails ordered were the Side Eye and the Guava cup. We also did a round of their Chispacho shooters, which I sadly and immediately regretted once we took them. As far as food goes, I was actually pleasantly surprised. I didn't expect much, but everything we ordered was pretty good and went well with our cocktails. We got the guac and queso (which you obviously can never go wrong with), an order of calamari, which was perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the oyster mushrooms (so umami!!). Here's what we ordered: Fried Avocado (this was super delicious) Tequila Steak (this was undercooked, came out medium rare even after asking for medium and they did take it back and cook it to temp) Roasted Oysters (this was really good too) Crab Roll With Caviar (this was really good as well) very fresh and tasty. For desert we ended with Silvanas, this was really tasty. The service was mediocre, never really checked in on us, had zero food or drink recommendations. Which sucks for it to be empty. The drinks were good but not memorable and definitely not strong for the price it was disappointing. Here's the kicker, we spent almost $300 for dinner and left and went to McDonalds for a large fry. Nice new restaurant in downtown Napa. I hope they succeed and do well! Quiet on a Saturday morning brunch at 1030am. It was restaurant week so all my friends opted for the tasting menu which was a great deal. I ordered off the regular a la carte menu and got the mushrooms which were very flavorful and the crab roll which came with a nice buttery roll and some large lumps of caviar. The crab tasted very fresh so I enjoyed that. My friends like their steak as well. It seems to be quite a small portion though if you are having that as an entree... but maybe it is bigger if you order from the regular menu. Very clean and luxurious feeling indoor space. I've been to this place many times and have always had a great experience, which is why this visit was so disappointing. We originally came in just for drinks but decided to order some food as well. Unfortunately, the wrong dish was brought to our table. When we politely let our server know about the mistake, her response was unexpectedly aggressive and filled with attitude. When we later asked for her name as she passed by, after letting us know her name she then came around the bar and asked for our names in a rude, smirking way.
