Stopped by The Fink on a Saturday night and enjoyed the chill vibe. It feels a bit like a speakeasy at first, you walk into the building, go through a second door, and then you're in this island-style tiki bar. Cool transition. The bartender was super kind and sweet, which always makes the experience better. We ordered Painkillers (our go-to at tiki bars). The flavor was a little different than what we're used to, not super pineapple-forward, but still good and unique. The bartender shared that the syrups are made in house, and the presentation was definitely fun. My experience here was incredibly frustrating. I was approached by a crabby female employee who immediately hit me with a terrible attitude. She snapped at me that I couldn't take my drink outside, and then proceeded to berate me for smoking a cigarette--despite the fact that I was standing completely away from the entrance and not bothering anyone. I stopped by The Fink in Napa and really enjoyed it! I had the Phoenix Down cocktail, which was absolutely delicious, and my friend got the Painkiller, also great. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the bartender was super friendly and attentive. We shared an order of fries, and the dip that came with them was surprisingly good, definitely worth getting. The only downside was that they happened to be hosting a bingo fundraiser while we were there, which made things a little loud, but the event itself looked fun and I imagine that's not the usual vibe. Located in downtown in it's own little plaza. Parking was fairly easy to find late night around 10pm. The waitress was so nice and when i told her i wanted a fruity drink she asked if i liked gin and then said if she could pick my drink. I got the boisenberry gin cocktail and it was refreshing and not too strong and tasty. The vibes are nice inside. U can seat urself there are booths, high tops, and couch seating area. Fink has been on my radar and in my saved places for quite some time. The namesake owner, "The Fink," spoke at a mid-century modern design event I attended a few years ago, and I've followed him on Instagram ever since. So when he casually posted on NYE encouraging people to stop by--no cover, celebratory vibe, rad DJ--I was genuinely excited. We were already going to be in Napa for dinner and hadn't chosen a place for the countdown, so it felt perfect. When we arrived around 10pm, we were greeted at the door by The Fink himself. After the obligatory thanks-for-coming pleasantries, he immediately tried to dissuade us from coming in, saying the bar was too busy, there was no seating, and we'd be waiting a very long time for a drink. This was odd, considering I've been in far busier bars on regular nights, and we had no issue standing. I mentioned we just wanted to have a drink by midnight. It was raining, and we weren't about to wander around Napa looking for another spot. In reality, we waited maybe 15 minutes for a drink, and by 11:30 we had seats. People were actively leaving before it even hit midnight. Then came the countdown, or rather, the lack of one. The DJ completely fumbled it. How hard is that? There were also zero New Year's decorations--no horns, no hats, nothing. This stuff is inexpensive and feels like the bare minimum when you're promoting a celebratory NYE vibe. Around 12:15, possibly earlier, The Fink got on the mic and announced the DJ would play two more songs and that it was last call. He seemed visibly stressed, and the overall energy felt tense and inhospitable. The vibe was like being at a high school house party where the host spends the entire night worried someone is going to break their parents' vase or that the neighbors are about to call the cops. It was one of the lamest New Year's Eves I've experienced. Maybe this place shines on other nights, but NYE is not it. Also the decor was nothing that I imagined. The image branding doesn't match - not a Mad Man retro vibe - more like a regular bar in anywhere USA. Drinks were ok. One was genuinely awful. We did enjoy a pour of straight, well-aged rum, which my husband ordered specifically because we didn't want our last drink before Dry January to be bad. We even bought the bartender a pour, and that ended up being the best thing we consumed all night. read more

This is our new favorite bar in Napa! From the outside, it blends in with the surrounding complex, so you'd never guess how cool it is inside. The drink menu is so impressive and I love how they categorized it by location and theme - there is something for everyone and every mood! There was also a food menu available of snacks - we ordered fries which rounded our drinks very nicely. My husband kept saying how much he loved the atmosphere, and I agree! What a great spot! Came in on a Sunday night where two events were happening at same time. Location is great with tons of free parking all around! One event was the owner was hosting a wine appreciation event for his winery, Judd's Hill. Three wines were tasted and amazing yummy bites came out. The pizza which was on a focaccia bread with sauce and light cheese. The real winner was the fries and an delicious sauce for dipping. Fries left me wanting more! The other event was a bar takeover over by six local bars. I was only able to try one from local bitters- wow!! Would love to come back to experience the normal Fink cocktails. read more

Be very cautious with this place. As a luxury travel company that has operated locally for over 15 years, we've experienced many establishments in the area, and this one gave off a very unsettling vibe. If you're a single woman, be very weary and careful. Even tonight we attempted to tip our waitress, but she was gone now and we were were told she didn't get the tho they'd "share" it. In addition, staff members behaved inappropriately toward my wife, trying to involve her in something that felt uncomfortable and entirely unwelcome. Wtf?? When we tried at the end of the night to tip our waitress, the bartender stepped in, disrupted the interaction, and shortly afterward the waitress disappeared for the remainder of the evening. As the night went on, it became clear that something was not right with the way this place operates. I do not recommend this establishment. I strongly suggest choosing a venue with more trustworthy and transparent ownership. read more

Well, our 10 day trip throughout Oregon all the way down to California was mostly based around family and kids.
