I have seen this place a few times but hadn't had a chance to go eat there until now. We didn't make a reservations and they were a little busy so I just new there would be a long wait but I was wrong. We sat down right away which was nice. The place is huge inside and it has outside seating that is covered. Our waitress came by shortly afterwards we were seated and asked if we need any drinks or water. She brought us some water, some bread, and told us the specials. The bread was nice and soft, and the dipping sauce had a garlic flavor to it that was delicious. I ordered a bowl of the soup which was like a minestrone and very good. For our entrees we ordered the Rigatoni and the Penne con Pollo. Both dishes came out pretty quick. Both dishes were cooked perfect, tender pasta and delicious sauces. We were to full to order dessert. The place is really nice inside with a really nice decor. Our waitress was really good and right there whenever we needed something. I wish I could remember her name. My bad. I'll definitely be back. read more

One weekend, I decided to explore around Napa by myself and was craving some Italian food. The wait was about 30 minutes, which wasn't a problem for me. Once I got the text that my table for 1 was ready, I was thrilled to finally try some authentic Italian food since it had been a while. The hospitality and service were phenomenal! As soon as I ordered my appetizer and entrée, the server brought out complimentary bread with dipping oil made with olive oil, shallots, and garlic. It was magnificent and definitely got me ready for the meal. I ordered the meatballs as my appetizer, and they asked if I wanted Parmesan cheese on top. I quickly said YES. The host and I were laughing because they said, "Don't be shy now, I can give you more!" Needless to say, I had a good amount of cheese dandruff covering my meatballs, and it was absolutely flavorful and delicious. When my ravioli came out, we had the exact same interaction with the Parmesan, and I was cracking up! The last time I had ravioli was back in October of last year, and I must say, this was probably the best ravioli I've had so far. The portion wasn't overwhelmingly large, but it was more than enough for me to do some damage. The entrée was packed with flavor, and I completely cleaned my plate. Overall, this was such a fun and cool experience. The food was delicious, the service was welcoming, and the little interactions made the meal even more memorable. After I finished eating, an older gentleman even came by and gave me a piece of candy! Definitely a great spot to check out if you're in Napa and craving some Italian food. read more

The food was really good! I personally loved the pesto gnocchi. I've definitely had better Italian food, but this was still really great, and I had no complaints about the experience overall. The service was really nice, too. The staff were very kind and went out of their way to accommodate us. It's also in a prime location in downtown Napa, near a lot of other wine bars, bookstores, and other things to check out. Terrible service -- dismissive, rude, and unnecessarily difficult. Unfortunately, the service at Ristorante Alegria was anything but good. We were a table of five and were given two pieces of bread. When we asked for more, instead of simply bringing enough for the table, we were questioned about the request and then met with eye-rolling and attitude. We also weren't given enough serving utensils, and basic requests required multiple reminders before anyone would actually take care of them. At one point, a staff member literally rolled her eyes at me when I asked for something. I don't expect perfection, but I do expect basic courtesy when dining at a restaurant. Having to repeatedly ask for simple things--and then being made to feel like an inconvenience for asking--is unacceptable. Definitely not the level of hospitality the positive reviews led us to expect. I would not recommend this restaurant based on our experience. read more

This place is larger than it looks, which lends to the noice level. We had a reservation and were sat on the third floor, where it feels like they stick customer overflow. Our first evening in Napa, we wanted a nice dinner spot. We were celebrating our 45th wedding anniversary and Father's Day and those days hit in Yosemite, with limited really nice options. So we chose Ristorante Allegria as our fall back. We were there on a Tuesday night and they were very busy. So glad we made reservations! Our host and server were both very pleasant and accommodating. Nice ambiance, classy, but a bit noisy. Started with a Napa Cabernet, which was good. The complementary bread was fresh and the garlic dipping sauce was good, although we prefer basaltic and oil. We generally split or do a half salad and then split an entree. We started with a split insalata di arugula which reminds us of a salad at our favorite restaurant in Eugene. Pears, walnuts and bleu cheese with arugula. It was excellent and gave us hope for the main course. Our main was penne con pollo, which they split for us (no split charge). It had a wonderful chipotle basil sauce that included sweet corn and sun-dried tomatoes. It was wonderful. So glad we went! read more

Ristorante Allegria is serving up authentic Italian cuisine in Downtown Napa. My husband raved about this restaurant, and I am so glad we were able to dine here. For starters, they give you fresh bread with a side of the most delicious caramelized onion oil. The calamari fritti wasn't my favorite, but the marinara sauce was amazing. For my entree, I had the fusilloni alla bolognese, and hubby had the short rib, mashed potatoes, and carrots. All of it was cooked to perfection. The carrots were tender, and well seasoned. The short rib melted our mouths. The bolognese was absolutely mouth watering. However, the show stopper of the night was the bread pudding & gelato. This was our third visit to Allegria and everytime we go the food is consistently good. I had the Rigatoni with Calabrian Sausage and my wife had the Saffron Tagliatelle with shrimp. Everything was prepared nicely and full of flavor. The Rigatoni in a creamy red sauce with just a hint of spice was delicious. The Tagliatelle with large shrimp and a wonderful blend of saffron and mushroom was also a hit. Service was fast and attentive. The inside of the restaurant is cool looking, an old bank. The only thing that keeps my review at 4 and not 5 is that the last time we visited the calamari was not cooked properly. It was rubbery and not crisp. It also lacked seasoning but maybe that was just a miss on that occasion. Being a Napa local finding a restaurant that is consistently good is rare. We will return soon. read more

While walking around in Napa going to visit wineries we stopped here for a little snack. The ladies at the front greeted us and let us know it was okay to sit at the bar. We met a few people at the bar who were nice and gave us plenty of recommendations as well as the bartender. The place was an old time Italian vibe and everyone looked so happy with their choices. We had been to Allegria before but it was so long ago that we really didn't remember the experience. So for our 5 year wedding Anniversary we decided to celebrate and have dinner here. I had made reservations about a month prior requesting to sit on the second floor overlooking the restaurant. When we arrived we were greeted normally. Hostess walked us upstairs but sat us away from the tables over looking the restaurant. She said those were already reserved. So I asked if she could just sit us downstairs. ** i just want to preference while it wasn't a big deal, the tables were empty the entire time we were there. (Picture attached) We were seated at the corner of the restaurant near the front door. Again not a deal breaker but it could have been a better table. Once seated we were greeted by our amazing server Jessica. I cannot stress how wonderful she was, from beginning to end. She was so attentive and super sweet. She opened a bottle of wine that we had brought with us to celebrate. (Crock fee was $25, fyi). She even offered to pour our wine into a decanter. We started off with some appetizers, the crab cakes and skirt steak satay. OMG these two items were just absolutely delicious. So much flavor! For our entrees I ordered the chicken parmigiana with Alfredo and my husband ordered the Linguine Frutti Di Mare. Again, the food was absolutely amazing. We definitely will be coming back. I've had this place bookmarked for a while now. My friend posted the Linguine Frutti Di Mare on her IG story once and I knew I had to have it. Had a day trip to Napa and checked it off our food bucket list. Service was great, food came out fast but the quality was so good. My wife's dish (pappardelle allo zafferano) was so mouth watering as well. I tried hers and it was hard to stop myself from asking for more. You can tell the pappardelle was made from scratch. The shrimps were big. Literally only needed to eat a few to get full. They did not skimp out!! The ambience was warm and cozy; sort of like early 2000's Tuscan aesthetics. It was nostalgic. Lovely ambiance! So cozy. We came in on a busy weekend night for a friend's celebration. We ordered Burrata Cheese, Portobello Mushroom with polenta, Gnocchi with pesto and Wild Mushroom Ravioli. For drinks we got Sangrias and Margaritas. For Dessert we got Tiramisu. We loved all the dishes, but the dish that stood out was Portobello mushroom with polenta. It was delightful to eat. My wife and I came to Ristorante Allegria for a late lunch a couple Fridays ago around 2:30pm. They were not busy, just a few tables of people, so we got seated right away. They have both indoor and outdoor seating as well as bar seating. They have quite the extensive wine and specialty cocktail selection, however we were not in the mood to drink any alcohol during our meal that day. The bar area is quite large. We were waited by Richie and a busboy who were both great and attentive. Ambiance is classy, but there is no particular dress code as customers were from dressed casual to business attire. Food: - Complementary bred and dipping sauce: Bread (ciabatta?) was good and the dipping sauce was delicious with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, onions, olives, etc. - Calamari Fritti: thin, crisp batter and just the right amount of saltiness. The roasted bell pepper-chipotle aioli dipping sauce was good. - Insalata Di Arugula: Arugula salad was ok for me, but my wife didn't care for it much because the papaya vinaigrette dressing was a little bland for her. It had a decent amount of pear, jicama, roasted walnuts and not too much blue cheese. I'm not a fan do blue cheese, so I was relived that there wasn't too much, just enough to give it some flavor. - Pappardelle Allo Zaferano: fresh homemade saffron pasta with prawns and wild mushroom, finished with a roasted shrimp bisque. Very tasty with shrimp flavor and 4 large prawns. - Lunch Box Meal (available Monday-Friday): 3 Course meal. 1st course, choice of soup of the day or Mista salad. 2nd course, choice of 6 different entrees. 3rd course, blackberry sorbet. I chose the soup of the day which was a mushroom/shrimp bisque (smooth tomato based soup, wish there was actually chunks of shrimp in it). For the entree, I chose Rigatoni Alla Bolognese, meat sauce was really good and full of ground meat. The blackberry sorbet was really good. Overall, we had a good experience here and the food was delicious for the most part. My wife was a little disappointed as she wanted to order the Spaghetti Carbonara (saw it on an older menu on Yelp), but they no longer have it on the menu. The waiter said the chefs did not want it on the menu anymore, but not sure the reason. I would rate the overall expiring 4.5/5 stars. read more

I always love coming here when I'm in town for BottleRock. I'm busy weekends. It's highly recommended that you come at all hours. The place can get very packed and if you don't have a reservation, you may be quite disappointed. We came in in between lunch and dinner and had the most amazing service. I'm pretty sure they always have amazing service here but since we were one of the few tables, I felt like we had a private dining service. We Split a salad and a main course, and both were plated up for us as individual meals, presented perfectly. The pear salad is absolutely delicious. I cannot even tell you how much I love the salad dressing and the salad is perfect. my sister does not like blue cheese so I got all of hers on my half. We also ordered my other favorite ditch, which is papardelle pasta with shrimp and mushrooms. It is so filling and lovely. There's no way that you could actually eat the whole plate, so splitting it is a great idea unless you're famished. Of course it be Napa. The bulk of your bill is gonna probably be online if you're a wine drinker. I love Chardonnay and Frank Family is sold by the glass. Came here during the Napa Restaurant Month - which I believe lasts for the entire month of January for most participating restaurants. At this place, you have to ask for the special Restaurant Month menu otherwise the staff gives you the regular menu. For a set of $35, you get a choice of salad or soup, an entree and a dessert. For our experience, we had the lentil and sausage soup, I chose the salmon with polenta for entree, and tiramisu for dessert. Wine was roughy $18 per glass and up. We chose this place because it was really close to our hotel (right in downtown Napa) and because Italian is always an agreeable option for our kids. The decor is really interesting. It feels like the location was previously an old fashioned bank. There are big columns and just overall the atmosphere feels grand. Also, the service was excellent. The food was good, maybe not amazing. Calamari is exactly what you expect, and it was done well. There were some bits of fried vegetables mixed in (like fried fennel), which was nice. The burrata seemed very fresh, although it felt more like the hardness of a mozzarella rather than the runniness of a burrata. The pastas had very rich sauces, and our daughter really liked that the pesto sauce was more creamy rather than strictly pesto. The gnocchi was good, but not quite as pillowy soft as the best gnocchi that we've had. The chicken parmesan was very well made. Finally, the desserts might have been the best part of the meal. The Tiramisu was very rich and had very strong adult flavors (i.e. it wasn't overly sweet, and it had a very strong coffee aroma). I only got a tiny bite, because our oldest daughter pretty much ate the entire thing. The chocolate mousse cake was also good, but I felt it had a little too much sponge and not enough mousse. You get to talk and meet new people and also chat with the bartender on whats going on. There is a small TV as well which they have games on or some sport. My daughter and I spent a few days in Napa, and this was one of the first places we tried -- the perfect spot for a relaxing afternoon lunch. We chose to sit on the patio, and with just one other table occupied, it felt like our own little oasis. It's such a cute setting! We did have to switch tables because the shade kept swinging into ours, but the staff couldn't have been nicer -- they happily helped us move and even carried our drinks for us. To kick off our mini getaway, we shared a bottle of sparkling wine, which they served with a bucket of ice to keep it chilled (though I did end up refilling our glasses myself ). My daughter ordered the ravioli and I had the pesto gnocchi -- both were absolutely delicious; we practically licked our plates clean! The biggest surprise was dessert -- the Lavender & Orange Crème Brûlée. I'm a huge crème brûlée fan but usually avoid floral flavors. I ordered the Bellatini cocktail (Grey Goose pear, pomegranate, fresh lemon/lime). It was perfectly balanced and refreshing. My fiancé had the Salmone Alla Griglia served over creamy Parmesan polenta and sautéed spinach. It was beautifully prepared and full of flavor. I ordered the filet mignon, pan seared and pepper crusted, served with garlic mashed potatoes and broccoli, topped with gorgonzola compound butter and finished with a port wine reduction. I normally don't care for gorgonzola, but the butter was actually amazing: rich, smooth, and not overpowering. Truly one of the best steaks I've ever had. The only small downside was being seated on the third floor. It is a lovely space, quiet and intimate, but the main restaurant downstairs is so lively and beautiful. After seeing that area, it felt kind of felt like being walked through it to a side room. Still, it didn't take away from the experience because the food and service more than made up for it. I came here for the first time for Valentine's Day from out of town. We got the Caesar salad, the calamari and the chicken parm over alfredo pasta. The appetizers were pretty good, but nothing special. Our main course did lack some flavor unfortunately. I had to add salt to my pasta. The chicken was very tender and juicy, and that was probably my favorite part of the meal. We were sat outside in a covered area, which didn't seem too romantic to me. I was hoping we would've been sat inside, but there was no preference when reserving for that. I probably wouldn't come back to this restaurant. I've been here several times over the course of 2025 and even before that and wow, this place just never disappoints. I came in with my girlfriend last week and we ordered the burrata with prosciutto, a caesar salad, the penne con pollo pasta, and for dessert we got bread pudding and crème brûlée and everything was PHENOMENAL. The highlight for me was the bread pudding, there was so much flavor and the ice cream was to die for! The bread pudding might just be my new favorite dessert and if you come to Allegria, it is a MUST. The service here was also incredible, all the servers go above and beyond to make sure you have a great experience and everyone is so friendly.
