Ristorante Allegria is serving up authentic Italian cuisine in Downtown Napa. My husband raved about this restaurant, and I am so glad we were able to dine here. For starters, they give you fresh bread with a side of the most delicious caramelized onion oil. The calamari fritti wasn't my favorite, but the marinara sauce was amazing. For my entree, I had the fusilloni alla bolognese, and hubby had the short rib, mashed potatoes, and carrots. All of it was cooked to perfection. The carrots were tender, and well seasoned. The short rib melted our mouths. The bolognese was absolutely mouth watering. However, the show stopper of the night was the bread pudding & gelato. There was some sort of maple brandy sauce drizzled on top, and it was fantastic. We had a great experience at Ristorante Allegria, and will most definitely return!

This was our third visit to Allegria and everytime we go the food is consistently good. I had the Rigatoni with Calabrian Sausage and my wife had the Saffron Tagliatelle with shrimp. Everything was prepared nicely and full of flavor. The Rigatoni in a creamy red sauce with just a hint of spice was delicious. The Tagliatelle with large shrimp and a wonderful blend of saffron and mushroom was also a hit. Service was fast and attentive. The inside of the restaurant is cool looking, an old bank. The only thing that keeps my review at 4 and not 5 is that the last time we visited the calamari was not cooked properly. It was rubbery and not crisp. It also lacked seasoning but maybe that was just a miss on that occasion. Being a Napa local finding a restaurant that is consistently good is rare. We will return soon.

While walking around in Napa going to visit wineries we stopped here for a little snack. The ladies at the front greeted us and let us know it was okay to sit at the bar. We met a few people at the bar who were nice and gave us plenty of recommendations as well as the bartender. The place was an old time Italian vibe and everyone looked so happy with their choices. We split French fries and a salad and I can say that everything was good. Good vibes, good times and good company. Check it out.

This restaurant was so pretty with an old school Italian feel. We went for lunch during the day and even then there was a low-key vibe with low lighting and great service. The food was all just okay to me but I'm glad we were able to experience some authentic Italian in Napa.

I always love coming here when I'm in town for BottleRock. I'm busy weekends. It's highly recommended that you come at all hours. The place can get very packed and if you don't have a reservation, you may be quite disappointed. We came in in between lunch and dinner and had the most amazing service. I'm pretty sure they always have amazing service here but since we were one of the few tables, I felt like we had a private dining service. We Split a salad and a main course, and both were plated up for us as individual meals, presented perfectly. The pear salad is absolutely delicious. I cannot even tell you how much I love the salad dressing and the salad is perfect. my sister does not like blue cheese so I got all of hers on my half. We also ordered my other favorite ditch, which is papardelle pasta with shrimp and mushrooms. It is so filling and lovely. There's no way that you could actually eat the whole plate, so splitting it is a great idea unless you're famished. Of course it be Napa. The bulk of your bill is gonna probably be online if you're a wine drinker. I love Chardonnay and Frank Family is sold by the glass. It's my birthday so they brought me a lovely raspberry gelato with a candle. Can't wait for my return next year went in town!

My wife and I came to Ristorante Allegria for a late lunch a couple Fridays ago around 2:30pm. They were not busy, just a few tables of people, so we got seated right away. They have both indoor and outdoor seating as well as bar seating. They have quite the extensive wine and specialty cocktail selection, however we were not in the mood to drink any alcohol during our meal that day. The bar area is quite large. We were waited by Richie and a busboy who were both great and attentive. Ambiance is classy, but there is no particular dress code as customers were from dressed casual to business attire. Food: - Complementary bred and dipping sauce: Bread (ciabatta?) was good and the dipping sauce was delicious with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, onions, olives, etc. - Calamari Fritti: thin, crisp batter and just the right amount of saltiness. The roasted bell pepper-chipotle aioli dipping sauce was good. - Insalata Di Arugula: Arugula salad was ok for me, but my wife didn't care for it much because the papaya vinaigrette dressing was a little bland for her. It had a decent amount of pear, jicama, roasted walnuts and not too much blue cheese. I'm not a fan do blue cheese, so I was relived that there wasn't too much, just enough to give it some flavor. - Pappardelle Allo Zaferano: fresh homemade saffron pasta with prawns and wild mushroom, finished with a roasted shrimp bisque. Very tasty with shrimp flavor and 4 large prawns. - Lunch Box Meal (available Monday-Friday): 3 Course meal. 1st course, choice of soup of the day or Mista salad. 2nd course, choice of 6 different entrees. 3rd course, blackberry sorbet. I chose the soup of the day which was a mushroom/shrimp bisque (smooth tomato based soup, wish there was actually chunks of shrimp in it). For the entree, I chose Rigatoni Alla Bolognese, meat sauce was really good and full of ground meat. The blackberry sorbet was really good. Overall, we had a good experience here and the food was delicious for the most part. My wife was a little disappointed as she wanted to order the Spaghetti Carbonara (saw it on an older menu on Yelp), but they no longer have it on the menu. The waiter said the chefs did not want it on the menu anymore, but not sure the reason. I would rate the overall expiring 4.5/5 stars.

The food was cooked to perfection! Nicely seasoned not dry the sauces were delicious. Our server was really nice we kept adding items to our order and she took it with a smile, unfortunately we did ask for more bread from a different server and never brought any out. Yet the two floors and outdoor scenery was really nice with bottles of wine and other alcohol all over the walls was nice touch.

Lovely ambiance! So cozy. We came in on a busy weekend night for a friend's celebration. We ordered Burrata Cheese, Portobello Mushroom with polenta, Gnocchi with pesto and Wild Mushroom Ravioli. For drinks we got Sangrias and Margaritas. For Dessert we got Tiramisu. We loved all the dishes, but the dish that stood out was Portobello mushroom with polenta. It was delightful to eat. The waiter was gracious to get us extra dessert for the celebration, strawberry gelato. Such a great place to celebrate and lovely food and atmosphere!

Came here during the Napa Restaurant Month - which I believe lasts for the entire month of January for most participating restaurants. At this place, you have to ask for the special Restaurant Month menu otherwise the staff gives you the regular menu. For a set of $35, you get a choice of salad or soup, an entree and a dessert. For our experience, we had the lentil and sausage soup, I chose the salmon with polenta for entree, and tiramisu for dessert. Wine was roughy $18 per glass and up. The food was decent but not memorable, so will unlikely return.

Napa... what a treat to get italian food so close and in wine country. I always still at the bar and the experience is great. You get to talk and meet new people and also chat with the bartender on whats going on. There is a small TV as well which they have games on or some sport. The skirt steak satay.... go with the appetizer once so you can enjoy other items. Pair this with some wine and you are set for the evening with a small salad. I flip between here and the other italian place down the road =P

Ask the Community - Ristorante Allegria

    What is the Corkage fee?

I usually look at photos of the wine menu on yelp or on their website. They usually list the corkage fee at the bottom. I didn't look at how old the photo was but I saw one on their yelp page (wine menu photo) that says $25.

Do they have a service charge?

I'm a client. Call the restaurant directly.

Will you be open on December 24th (christmas eve)?

Please contact the restaurant directly to get an accurate response. Thank you.

Do they have any Gluten-free options?

I emailed asking if they were celiac-safe with both ingredients and cross contact - this is the response. Definitely not celiac-safe but if it's a diet choice then you may be ok.…

Do they have any menu items for gluten sensitive?

If you would like to order a pasta, you can ask for a gluten free option. From what I know they normally offer gluten free rigatoni.

Dress code? Planning a trip to Napa and looking to come here for a nice dinner but don't want to over do it

It's a nice place, definitely a casual-dressy to dressy, and that is appreciated by all. Especially at dinner time. It's not an outback or Chevy's. Although, it's also not a prom so don't wear a gown. lol =)

Are you able to make made-to-order pasta sauces wtih no garlic and no onions?

You're able to order any meal with or without anything. i hope this helps :)

    Do they serve cioppino?

    No, they do not.

    Do you need a reservation?

Reservations are highly recommended because this is a popular restaurant.

Is this a good spot for an anniversary dinner?

Yes it is . Ask for a table in the vault ! The building used to be a bank so they have special table in the old vault

Do you have gluten free options?

yes. from what i remember hearing from a friend they serve gluten free rigatoni pasta. they might also have some gluten free gnocchi options, not sure about that one.

Do you have an area for private parties?

    They do,

Are there some decent vegan options here? Contemplating bringing my mom out and want her to enjoy the restaurant.

I am vegan and had no problem eating here - they had salads as well as made-to-order pasta dishes. Most of their pastas do not contain eggs, they have a vegan marinara or can use garlic/oil if you prefer that, and they had no problem substituting…

The seafood pasts was good but nothing extraordinary about it and not that much seafood in it for the $37 price tag. I was curious about the green pesto looking one! The branzino did not look appetizing for me. Fried and thin, my partner finished it but i dont think it was bc it was spectacular. We were able to grab one of the last reservations of the evening, and after the short drive over, we were seated right at our 9:00 reservation time. One of the managers, Stephen, stopped by our table and welcomed us with complimentary glasses of Prosecco for the birthday celebration, which was such a thoughtful touch. Our server was attentive, friendly, and made sure we were taken care of throughout the evening. We started with the Pasta Fritta con Prosciutto--crispy, rosemary-scented pasta dough wrapped in prosciutto with mascarpone espuma, honey, and Parmigiano Reggiano. It was the perfect balance of savory and sweet. We also shared the Caesar Nero, made with little gem lettuce, black garlic, and Parmigiano crostini, which was fresh and flavorful. For cocktails, we both ordered the Porch Punch. Made with Redwood Empire Pipe Dream 101, yellow peach, oolong tea, lemon, vanilla, and clarified using the milk punch process, it tasted like a refreshing peach tea. The etched ice cubes with wine glasses and utensils were a small detail that made the presentation even more memorable. For our entrées, Face ordered the Salmon Risotto, while I had the Carbonara. The carbonara is topped with an activated charcoal Parmesan tuile, and while it looks dramatic, it doesn't change the flavor at all--it simply adds a beautiful presentation. The pasta was rich, creamy, and absolutely delicious. Bottega didn't just serve us an incredible meal--they rescued what could have been a very disappointing birthday dinner. Now, I am kind of a pizza snob so, my expectations weren't that high. Wow! Was I wrong! The crust was crisp with a soft center. The sauce was perfect, not too much or too little, just right. The Caesar salad was surprisingly lemony and refreshing. Everyone loved the pizza for the small crispy pepperonis and hot honey flavor. And the pasta was simply delicious. The gelato was the most interesting item of the meal -- they brought it out for a birthday we were celebrating. It had pine nut oil on top, which gave it a distinct popcorn / kettle corn taste. It was the kind of dessert you try knowing that you'll likely never get anything like it anywhere else!

It's not the most spacious restaurant, but they do cram a lot of seats in the space they do have. Most of the seating is inside, but they have a decent amount of tables out in front. The parking lot is small, so I had to park a few blocks away and walk. I'd heard this was a favorite among the locals, so I was excited to try it, but unfortunately, it just wasn't great. Not terrible, but not really all that good either. and the price (for the quality of food) really makes this a one-and-done place for me. - Mezze Rigatoni (pork belly, chard, prosciutto): this pasta came with some sort of butter sauce. the combination of the minced pork belly and prosciutto made for a salt bomb. I couldn't really taste much else, and I love salt... but this was just... too... much... - Spaghetti (chicken skin, lovage): I guess I had made a bad assumption in thinking this would be dressed with tomato sauce. nope. it had the same exact sauce as the rigatoni. it would've been fantastic if our waitress would've mentioned this when ordering. I was excited for this bc I love me some crispy chicken skin, and crispy it was. unfortunately, it was also much too salty. not quite as salty as the rigatoni, but still very much so out of balance. - Pepperoni (mozzarella, hot honey, basil): I was actually a little afraid of ordering this at first bc I had seen some comments mentioning how this place does not really accommodate requests for changes to their dishes, and I wanted the hot honey served on the side. thankfully, they happily obliged my request without any grief. The pizza was pretty good. Unfortunately, my palate was still suffering from the salt of the prior dishes, so the saltiness of the pepperoni was not great. But even so, I appreciated the pizza for what it was. As anticipated, I preferred eating it without the hot honey; though, I did take a few bites with it drizzled on. The crust had a nice char to it. I wish there was a bit more sauce on it though as it ate a little dry. would I pay $32 + tax + tip to eat this again even if I didn't have to deal with reservations or wait times, etc? nope. it wasn't that good. I would've actually been happier eating a Round Table pizza.

I still had to pick my kid up from school, so it just made sense to slide somewhere close by that never misses. Pulled up to Ristorante Pasta D'Oro -- this was my third visit -- and just like every other time, it delivered. Honestly, it might've been even better. We grabbed the regular spaghetti and split it between my two sons. Plenty of food, easily enough for two. I did ask about the spaghetti and meatballs since they usually run that as a special, but it wasn't available today. Still, the regular spaghetti held its own with no problem. I also picked up the mixed greens salad, and the vinaigrette is different in the best way. It's flavorful, balanced, and seriously one of the highlights. When I brought it home, my fiancée tried it and immediately said I should've asked for extra. I didn't realize it was going to be that good, but now I know. Pro tip: ask for extra dressing. We grabbed the penne pasta as well, which my fiancée said was great. And once my toddler finished his spaghetti, he went straight to helping her with the penne. That's how you know it's fire. On the side, I ordered the mozzarella sticks -- handmade, big, crispy, and cooked perfectly. I believe it came with about four to six, but they're large and filling. Everything was 10 out of 10. If I could give it a million out of a million, I would. Since I can't, it's a solid five out of five stars every time. Pasta D'Oro for the win.

We ordered the ribeye dinner, shrimp Alfredo, misto frito, and bread pudding (bread pudding was DISGUSTING because it's premade and microwaved). There's a few things that could be a lot better 1. Dining-in wait time was long even without no one dining in. 2. Our food came out very very cold 3. Mash potatoes lack creaminess and flavor. 4. We had to ask for the complementary bread and olive oil which was premade low quality. The ribeye was juicy had flavor the veggies was perfection in flavor the mash potatoes whew failed miserably almost tastes like box mash potatoes. Chef needs to get the mash potatoes recipe together asap. The portion size of the sides are very very small. Especially for the price you're paying for the ribeye dinner. The Alfredo was a chef kiss perfection ! Stay away from the BREAD PUDDING AT ALL COST!
