Despite it not having much weight to it, it traveled surprisingly well as I took it home on my three train commute! Similar to what others have said, the real highlight of the shop, in my opinion, are their cream puffs. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but the outer layer was thin yet had a nice little crunch to it. We tried the classic milk, cookies & cream pistachio and ube flavors. Our favorite was the pistachio by far, which had such a unique yet decadent flavor and our second favorite was the milk cream puff. There's not much else I can say other than you really have to go here and try the desserts yourself. If you're a fan of Japanese desserts that are rich yet not too sweet, you'll be a fan of Keki.

If I can give this place no stars I would! The racism my stepfather recieved at this location over a cup of coffee was ridiculous!!! DONT OPEN A BUSINESS IN A SPANISH COMMUNITY AND TREAT THE SPANISH CUSTOMERS HORRIBLY BUT THE WHITE ONES LIKE ROYALTY!!!! My stepfather asked for a cup of coffee he was informed the seating area was closed. He was on his motorcyle and it was raining. He was just trying to wait for the rain to stop so he can come back home. The employee then went on to tell him he couldn't stand near the bar either. When he goes to leave he sees a white woman doing the same thing he was told he couldnt do and when he confronted the employee he said it was different because it was espresso! HE GOES TO THIS PLACE ALMOST ONCE A WEEK, HE GIVES THIS PLACE BUSINESS AND THIS IS HOW HE GETS TREATED??? UNACCEPTABLE!!! And then the employee goes on to say he doesn't make the rules while the dumb ass owner stood there and didn't utter a word. These people should be ashamed of themselves. This shop is amazing!! When you come across something that's really great, you can't keep it to yourself. So here I am sharing. First of all, the decor of the shop is very stylish and classy. I walked into the shop and my senses are enthralled with the delightful smell of chocolate and baked goods. The staff is so pleasant but the treat is the open kitchen...seeing the chef and owner & his staff create masterful works of art is a pleasure to behold. I'd suggest coming and trying anything. My favorites are the caramelized croissant dipped in chocolate, chocolate cherry torte and the Jubilation - a chocolate cake soaked in rum caramel and finished with a choc ganache. Today I treated myself to a cherry French macaron, a hazelnut cake with a caramel buttercream, and a smore. The cake and macaron was so flavorful and delicious. Chocnyc has to be one of the premier bakeries in my neighborhood of Inwood and beyond! When they first moved in, it became obvious to my family that they were going to stand out in a good way. I've been in the area well over fifty years and NEVER once has any of the store clerks or owners of establishments made an effort to ask me my name! Jemal and Brad both set the tone. Obviously their baked goods are outstanding , but the personal touch of being friendly and professional is just as important. A family entering a business wants to be appreciated, and Chocnyc has exceeded our expectations. I had the chocolate cherry cake from Choc NYC Bakery and it was absolutely decadent rich, flavorful, and way beyond what I expected. Every bite was a perfect balance of chocolatey goodness and tart cherry. On top of that, the service was warm and friendly, and the ambiance of the bakery made me feel instantly welcomed. It's the kind of place you want to come back to not just for the sweets but for the whole experience. I'll definitely be returning soon to try more cakes for upcoming celebrations. I have nothing bad to say, they can have all my money! It's fresh, delicious and over good service. I copied someone in lines order of iced latte with salted caramel syrup and it has been my daily summer drink. I just wish they had hot breakfast items such as hand pies or croissant wrapped with egg. Also, a variety or limited selection of different muffin based on season, a cranberry orange spice muffin would be nice in fall. read more

As soon as I left, I immediately regretted not getting something to go. I went on valentine's and they said that's the only day of the year they make chocolate puff pastry, so I guess I have a whole year to familiarize myself with the rest of their menu before my patience is rewarded. My first reaction was wow, This place is beautiful. You can spot the amazing "CLEAN" kitchen as soon as you walk in.
