I stopped in this morning to buy two pieces of cake to sample before I purchase a cake for my best friends birthday. I tried the red velvet and the double chocolate soaked in rum caramel and both were really good!!!!! I cannot wait until lunch time to devour them! Aside from the cakes being so good the customer service was exceptional! Both Ben and Brad were super friendly and nice and informative which is a really good thing, because when you come into a place in the morning and have such pleasant customer service it really sets the tone of your day! If you are a chocolate lover like myself you will love the chocolate cake soooo good I had to fight myself to put the fork down because it's too early to eat an entire piece of cake lol! Sorry guys; I think this place is just OK. I ordered a slice of cake and boyfriend ordered the savory tart (i think caramelized mushroom and blue cheese). My biggest mistake was to choose something from the menu (vs the case) that they said they actually did have to serve but they actually pulled it from the fridge - i wasn't told until after it was boxed. So I couldn't enjoy it in the moment, and even after the cream softened i was not impressed with this pineapple flavored slice. Overly sweet and so dense. Also when we bit into the savory tart it was also cold as if out of the fridge. Not light and crisp. My favorite thing about goods "fresh" from the bakery is that they should feel just so; disappointingly not the case with the couple items we tried. read more

This place is a new dessert spot. Ive tried several of their desserts and breads. The red velvet cupcakes have an awesome red inner filling they are soft and super fresh. I've also had a slice of their red velvet cake with awesome cheesecake filling. The mini eclairs are a good size and very fresh. It seems every item here is made daily. read more

I was craving chocolate, baked goods and ice cream at the same time, so I pulled up my Yelp app and found this place that seemed fit the baked good and chocolate description quite well. Once I got to the storefront I saw that they have home made ice cream as well, including chocolate. Jackpot! Upon arrival, I was greeted by a friendly baker and immediately assisted. I got a brownie and chocolate ice cream that was nicely put together for around $5. The quality was fanatic. The ice cream was as Anthony Bourdain would say "just what I need right now" though he's not a fan of desserts and I am. :P It was quite rich and creamy. It had a true high quality chocolate taste. I love chocolate mouse and it was close to an ice cream version of it. The brownie was also quite rich and chocolaty, with a nice balance of walnuts. Both seemed to be made of high quality ingredients, so it was worth the price. I want to try more now! read more

They have very good fresh pastry, especially mille-feuilles. If not humid outside they remain fresh even in the late afternoon. As for cakes, then I found them very crumbly and sweet (though sweetness is very personal & relative), they lack texture, just fall apart & you end up picking up the crumbs off the plate instead of slicing it with a spoon or fork. But whoever is at cashier's desk has a very arrogant demeanor (I heard it's one of the co-owners), gives me a "you-are-not-welcome-here" sense. That became the only reason why we decided to change the venue of Sunday palate pampering. read more

You must come here for their brownies. It is one of the best brownies I have ever had. You can tell they use premium chocolate and even if you put it in the fridge for the next day it is still moist. These men were so kind as to create a beautiful wedding cake for my partner and I complete with a unique white chocolate blossoming flower atop a delicious pumpkin spice cake. UNFRIENDLY toward KIDS. My wife was paying and getting two coffee when our two years old son got excited around the sweets and was tapping on the glass case. Just the time for my wife to be able to pay and one of the owners seemed instantly upset, I promptly entered to pick my son and I smiled and apologized. As an answer I received a very bad look and the person gave me his back walking away in the cooking area. But my biggest surprised was when I was greeted by the other owner at the counter and once I told him what happened, no sympathy but a "the baby should not touch the window case" was the answer. Both were top-notch: Elegant, Attractive, Creative and Flavorful. It is great to find a stand-alone business where the owner and his employees take such pride in their product. The man who helped us was super nice and helpful despite my being indecisive and asking about half the items in the display. Stepped in today after noticing this place over the last month. I was skeptical at first since this block really seems to be cursed, with the numerous openings and closings over the past few years. I also had the hilarious idea that this "bakery" might just another creative scheme to morph into a hookah bar at night. However I was pleasantly surprised! ChocNYC It certainly is a step above many of the places in Inwood, which generally offer mediocre food and poor service, because they don't have to do any better since we're stuck with them all the way uptown. I came in around 1pm on Saturday and there was a steady flow of customers. I was pleased to see that the clientele was diverse, not just "gentrifiers" but a true representation of Inwood. Another positive thing I noticed was the calm and respectful way the owner worked with employees. That certainly comes through in the good service. I didn't have time to really take in everything they have there, but the selection and quality of pastries was amazing. I like to try a standard item at a new place, so I got a brownie, which was perfectly balanced - rich and moist, dark chocolate chunks, not too sweet, some walnuts, exactly how I like a brownie. I'm definitely coming here to get my daughter's birthday cake. After visiting, I learned that they make ice cream, which I'm really looking forward to trying. I also really liked the very clean and organized open kitchen, where you can see the pastry chefs at work. These are just some initial impressions... This Bakery is a quaint delightful place to get some superb pastries. On a whim I needed some pastries to take to a friend's house and stopped in. The amount of the variety of pastries were awesome. Some of them were super unique. I decided to take a sampler of the pistachio eclair, the pleasuredome, some type of tart thing with some strawberries on top, the caramel cheesecake, two cupcakes with passion fruit in the middle, and 1 more item I can't recall. Even though I was only able to taste the cake tart thing with the strawberries on top which was very light and delicious and moist, I was also able to taste the cupcake with the passion fruit in it and this was to die for. It was so delicious. It has a light fluffy frosting with a Sprinkle of coconut on top. I highly recommend doing the same thing I did and taking one of each to sample and see how delicious these pastries are. I am definitely making my way up to 212th & Broadway very soon! read more
