We like the convenient location on Gate Parkway with ample free parking lot parking. Reservations are encouraged as we came last week and they were completely booked up. We made a reservation last week for a 5 PM booking today. I was in a party of three, and when we came to the restaurant, we saw there were three open tables. Our host initially told us to sit down at bar style seating facing a wall where we would not be facing each other. We asked to be seated on a table as we had a young child with us and was initially told that we could not as they were expecting other parties. We reminded the host that we made a reservation a week ago and we could visibly see open tables that could accommodate our party. She then offered for us to sit outside, but it was very cold. We insisted on getting a table and finally she gave in. We later realized she forgot to bring us silverware after we were seated noting she didn't for subsequent parties. Ordering was easy with the QR code on the table. It was recommended we use the QR code as not all the menu items were available. The dessert portions were large to share and taste was acceptable but not outstanding. I think this establishment is good for a date night once you make reservations in advance. The service staff may need more training. Dessert was decent so I encourage you to try it for the experience and then make up your own mind. read more

We went to Chocolate Bar specifically for dessert and ended up having a much harder time choosing than expected. I ordered a chocolate mousse cake, and it was rich without being overly sweet, with a smooth texture that made it easy to finish the whole slice. We also shared a hot chocolate, which was thick and indulgent enough to feel like dessert on its own. Our experience here was great! They're still in their soft opening phase so they are doing appointment only but allowed some walk ins if people no showed. We got their molten lava cake which was absolutely delicious! Since they're just opening up, the wait time was a little longer but the staff was very sweet and gave us multiple free desserts including a banana split and multiple gelato flavors while we waited. The mango gelato and tiramisu gelatos were a must! There's no place like this in Jax so far and I'm excited that we have this great new addition :) I'm looking forward to going back soon once they're officially open! read more

Do not recommend. While placing our order, the staff and owner, Will, were extremely dismissive and seemed to discourage us from ordering altogether. What made the experience even more uncomfortable was watching patrons behind us in line immediately be told to take seats, while we were told there was no seating available. The difference in treatment felt very discriminatory and unwelcoming. Afterward we decided to take our chocolate dessert to go, but were told it could not be packaged for carryout. We then asked if we could sit outside and were told the patio was 'too wet.' Yet just a few minutes later, a staff member went outside and cleaned a table for another family to sit there. Stopped by ChoColate Bar in Jacksonville during their soft opening, and wow -- what a treat! We tried the #62 Brownie, and it was incredible. The chocolate flavor was rich and smooth without being overly sweet, so you can almost convince yourself it's a guilt-free indulgence. The vanilla bean gelato deserves its own spotlight -- easily the best gelato I've ever had. Creamy, flavorful, and an absolute must-try. To top it all off, the owner Ricky gave us amazing customer service. His energy and attention really made the experience special. Oh, and in case you're wondering where the picture of the dessert is -- let's just say I have an excellent after photo... of an empty plate. We will most definitely be back! read more

This is a new restaurant and my visit was on a Friday night and it was very crowded and they were working on their process but the staff was working very hard. I ordered a dessert to go and they were very attentive. My dessert was wonderful. The atmosphere is decorated in a modern decor with beautiful touches from the wood grain of the tables to the bathroom. Second visit was on a Tuesday night. We ordered multiple desserts as you can see in the photos. The service was great but the dessert was the star! The owners greeted us and checked to see how the food was. Made a reso during soft opening. There's a ton of hype about this place but for me it didn't live up to it. We came in and were sat and told to order from QR code. They were out of something's on menu which is understandable. We ordered. Mango tea (7.49) the chocolate volcano (17.49)the lotus milk cake (13.99) and the sweet mountain ( eclairs covered in melted chocolate both types 16.99) So the tea looks like it's a a mini carafe but when we got it it's a mason jar very sweet and pretty pricey for what it is. They did explain when I asked why it doesn't look like photo that the carafes are on back order in Dubai. But I did have to ask. The eclairs came out next. They were crunchy filled with cream and covered in yummy chocolate. Good but I don't think they are fresh baked they seem like a frozen item. The only way anything is hot here is if it's topped by chocolate. The volcano looks cool and is quite a show but the holes don't go all the way thru and the brownie was not warm so it was hard. Again the flavor of the chocolate saves all. But this dessert is really just a show. The milk cake has a good flavor but all texture is lost due to the milk. Like not even like a tres leches it was as so soaked it tasted like pudding. We got these items including a 20% tip given when ordering for 74$ and some change. To me underwhelming is the word. They need to figure out some kinks. I do wish them luck but not sure I would return. read more

This place is such a perfect addition to Jacksonville! There are no other concepts here like this! I was not expecting the menu to be so big. Every page on the menu has a QR code where you can watch a video of the dessert! SO helpful!! I went with a couple friends there was plenty of seating. Everyone is so friendly and helpful! It was really clean. It was sup busy but it was well organized. As we were waiting for our table we got to sample gelato. Lotus was like a biscoff cookie the other selection was really good and creamy. There was a large selection of food and drinks. The food was filling and good. I really liked their espresso ( espresso con Panna) and they had the cutest cups. I had the brownie crust crape which was good and the fruit on it was really fresh. My friend had the banana roll which was a regular crape and bananas with chocolate. She thought it was good but didn't love the regular crape. She said she would order mine next time. We arrived at 2 o'clock and had a reservation. We walked in the door, nobody cared. The waitress walked past us. We ordered our food at 2:18 did not receive our food until 2:47 which was after we ask a manager about where our food was. We ordered two milkshakes, and chocolate fruit, lotus waffles, and chocolate covered cream puffs (Sweet Mountain). Lotus waffle was good but only 1/2 waffle for $16.99 was ridiculous. We have a place by the house called Aroma waffle, and ice cream. They have something very similar, which you get the entire waffle and ice cream for $10.99. I honestly think it tasted better. The Sweet Mountain was cream puffs with chocolate on them. Some of the cream puffs didn't even have chocolate on them and they didn't taste any better than the ones you get out of the freezer section at the store. $16.99 The chocolate covered fruit was chocolate covered fruit for $13 We ordered a strawberry milkshake and a chocolate milkshake. The chocolate milkshake sat on the counter for at least 10 minutes so by the time we got it, it was melted. It was chocolate milk. The strawberry milkshake was super sweet, but didn't have any strawberries in it. Our bill is over $80 and we wouldn't go back again. You have to order and pay on your table by a scan code, which means they want you to tip before you ever get your food. The service was very poor. I know it was their soft opening, but they've been doing this for two weeks and you couldn't tell they were very disorganized. I write very few reviews, but it would've been nice if somebody would've told me any of this before I got there. I took my two adult daughters as part of their Christmas present. The place to go for deserts in this city !! I've had deserts here several times and I'm never disappointed in my selection. The banana splits are the best as well as the pistachio bar. There were plenty of tables opened so we decided to just order at the counter and sit down. The lady at the front was really nice. She asked if we were to go or sit in and if we had a reservation. Once we replied, I started to tell her what I wanted but she said we could order later and led us to a table. You can either order from your table through the barcode embedded into the table or at the counter. It seemed like they preferred the use of the app. Kind of just a weird setup. Maybe if you make a reservation they can give you a take number and email you the process with your confirmation. I ordered the Sebastian cheesecake and it was delicious! Would definitely get again. My friend got the molten lava cake and she said she would definitely get that again too. It was literally steaming! Definitely a bit pricey but honestly everything is nowadays. Most of the dessert were between $12- $17. I would've liked a sampler tray or something on the menu since they have so many options. My granddaughter and I love chocolate so we made a reservation for 2:00 PM. The ordering is unique and I'm glad my g'daughter was there to help navigate the order and payment on the iPhone. To start, this place was a 10/10. We originally ordered the Brownie Pouch, a pistachio cookie, and a vanilla cafe latte. While we were waiting, the owner noticed our table was empty and he gifted us a free Chocolate Burger that he said was extra from the kitchen. The chocolate burger was amazing, a double layer of pancakes with whipped cream, brownies, strawberries, and bananas in the middle topped with Belgian Chocolate. My family downed this immediately. We then received the Brownie Pouch, which was a crepe filled with brownies, strawberries, and whipped cream topped with chocolate. This was pretty good but i honestly don't recommend the crepe as much, but I personally just don't really like crepes. The vanilla latte was light and great to wash it down and the pistachio cookie was also amazing. I could tell the owner was stressed as this place has a constant rush and you can only get a table through reservation. But I think he was able to manage the rush well and you can tell he really cares about maintaining the place. If you do go, try to make it earlier in the day because a lot of the things I wanted to order were sold out.
