Five star experience every time I've been here. The place is always nice and tidy. Plenty room for large groups or intimate setting. Feel like the more people the better here. The staff is super nice and helpful. Never any issues. Food is always 10/10. The bulgogi is my favorite aside the pork belly. The kimchi is 10/10 as well.

We had a good experience doing a la carte at Chodang Village! You could either do that or all you can eat BBQ, so there are options. The banchans were good, service was attentive and quick, and portion was pretty plentiful for the price (yes, everything is expensive now). You could get the combo of soup and a meat for an affordable price, or honestly you could feed two people with a soup and banchans and the special rice they give alongside the soups. We opted for eat now and take home later, so we ordered two meats (spicy pork and galbi) along with a pork soon tofu soup. Galbi was marinated well and tender, soup was very good (especially with the drier special rice), and pork was good. It was a lot of food for us two in addition to the banchans (with refill), so next time we'll likely just get the soup and galbi. The layout was kept the same from Charm - it's pretty spacious and there's at least one private room for events.

My friend loves Korean food so we wanted to try this place. We liked the openness and quick service. You have the option of the regular menu or the BBQ side which is basically all you can eat. We were here for lunch, but we were curious to try the BBQ side. The bulgogi was great. I had the bento box and it was more than plenty. Could barely eat a quarter so the portions are generous. Its problem lunch and dinner and breakfast in a way. The flavors are on point! The glass noodles and kimchi were extraordinary. My friend now loves this place and she wants to bring her kids when she can. I'll be coming back to try other things as well. Most likely for lunch.

I love this place! It brings me back to the Korean places in California. I always get the seafood tofu soup. The bon chon comes out quickly and is always so fresh. My personal favorites are the kimchi, fish cakes, mackerel, and japchae. The seafood tofu soup is always filling and the rice is cooked to perfection. This is my regular place, I frequent this place at least 2x a month.

Pretty decent as far as Austin Korean restaurants go! We came as a huge party of around 20 people, and the workers were so accommodating. We ended up splitting between two huge tables. And one of our groups was able to use the private room. The banchan quickly came out, they were both refillable and delicious. I especially loved the potatoes and the fishcake. But not so sure about the radish (?). I got one the combination seafood and beef tofu stew with medium spiciness. It was barely spicy though, if I could rechoose, I would have gone with a spicier option for sure. The rice comes out in a little pot which I love because the edges crisped up a bit. The stew had a good amount of both beef and seafood. But it was a little annoying to have to peel the shrimp myself.

We stopped here after my daughter's hair appointment and were immediately seated. We decided to do the Korean barbecue and tried the spicy pork belly, spicy chicken and beef Bulgogi. We also tried several of the sides as well. It is such a relaxed environment and a lot of fun to cook the meat with the Kiddos, particularly my son, who considers himself a grill master lol. It's nice that you can order as much as you are able to eat and for us it was not a lot as their bowls of meat were generous as well as their sides. Our favorites of the meats were the spicy pork belly and beef Bulgogi. The spicy chicken lacked flavor. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and will definitely return.

I wouldn't go back. We came here with a large group (20ish people) and were able to split half into the large private room. Banchan was great and can be refillable. However, when taking our orders, the server forgot which orders were already taken and unluckily for me, it turns out it was my kimchi jjigae order. I also want to note that I originally wanted a lunch special, but turns out these are only available on weekdays. It does not mention that on the menu (as far as I could tell) so I wish I didn't waste my time scrutinizing that part of the menu. Maybe it was a good thing my order got left off because I was actually full from just eating my bf's pork bulgogi and banchan. The pork bulgogi tastes good but quickly becomes repetitive after eating it for a while and I suspect there's some MSG. We were not able to finish it and had some leftovers. We were also not well-taken care of and had to ask multiple times for gochujang sauce, napkins, and water. I don't know if it's because we're in a private room, but the service was minimal. Regardless of the service, the food was alright but nothing special to me. I have had lots of Korean food and worked for a Korean restaurant before so...maybe a la carte isn't the move. I know they also have all you can eat bbq but we didn't get that. Everything is priced really high. The pork bulgogi (that only comes with one bowl of rice) after tax is already $30, which is enough to get all you can eat at Kpot or something similar. If you want affordable, delicious Korean food, this isn't it.

Always down for Korean food, and this locL spot is a good one. We came with a large party and they had long tables in separate rooms which was perfect for us. They have a lot of menu items and combos. They also have lunch bento boxes but those are only for weekdays, which the menu doesn't mention. The prices for the portions are good! The banchan is not bad and comes with unlimited refills like at other Korean restaurants. I ordered chicken dumpling tofu soup and the dumplings were yummy. The spice level, however, was inaccurate - I got medium but it was barely spicy, I would've considered it below mild. The rice came in a hot pot so the edges get crispy, which I like.

What a cute and nice Korean restaurant! First we got some interesting side dishes, including one where the rice sticks to the bowl while some hot liquid is poured into the bowl. We got Seafood Tofu Soup, Hot Stone Bibimbap with Beef Bulgogi, and LA style Short Ribs. My favorite was the Hot Stone Bibimbap. Everything was great and I would definitely come back.

No better place to be hungry than at an all you can eat KBBQ spot! We recently tested how much food our stomachs could hold at Chodang Tofu House and here's what we found: the setting is clean and quaint, a bit of a strange interior that's difficult to explain but it doesn't really feel like a KBBQ spot inside. Parking was decent so that's a plus. We ordered the deluxe options and ate a good amount of different meats and here's what we experienced... a lot of the meat is underwhelming. Specifically, many of the beef cuts don't have a lot of flavor and taste bland. Not sure what it is but in comparison to other similar spots we've been to nothing really stood out except for the beef bulgogi. The sides were so-so, the sweet corn being the best of them and the kimchi just not tasting that good. One thing I noticed was that for some reason the grills here charred very quickly compared to other places which left us needing to get our grill replaced quite often. When it was time to wrap up dinner and pay they took our card and returned the bill to me without my card and when we went up to ask about it we saw it hanging out of the payment machine, not a good look. As a whole the service was decent but when handling people's cards and personal belongings you just need to be a bit more on top of that. The pricing honestly wasn't bad, just a letdown for how the food was. The whole experience was okay, we would definitely recommend anyone go for themselves to be the judge of the place and maybe we'll return one day and give it an upgrade.

The food here is absolutely delicious! The sundubu is amazing, and each order comes with tasty fried fish. (We forgot to take picture of that). The side dishes are fresh and flavorful. The service is excellent. Our lady server was very friendly and always made sure we were taken care of. Our whole family thoroughly enjoyed our lunch today. The portions are also generous. Highly recommend!

Great KBBQ restaurant in the North Austin/ South Round Rock area! Conveniently located right off the I-35. Been here two times, and received great service, food, and vibes each time. The AYCE KBBQ option has four options to pick from, ranging from $30-60 (approximately). I get the second option lowest option for the Short Ribs. Meat quality is great, sides are good, and the customer service is always on point. Give this place a try!

First time trying this place out since it replaced Charm. I think it's definitely an improvement as far as non ayce korean food goes (only tried the regular menu today). It's clean and super spacious now. There was a separation between the regular diners and the ayce kbbq-ers which was considerate. We got the Kimchi and Beef Soft Tofu Jjigae as well as the Cold Noodles + Spicy Pork Bulgogi combo. The Banchan was good--i really liked their kimchi, fishcakes, and japchae. The cucumbers were alright...the mayo-y dish was a no for me, but that's mostly because i'm just anti-mayo. The fried croaker only comes with the jjigae. Onto the entrees--i really liked my tofu jjigae--perfect amount of delicate tofu, great flavor (med spice was perfect for me), and a carefully cracked soft yolk egg. There was a TON of beef in my soup which was good. However, there was no kimchi at all...i'm wondering if they just forgot to put it in the bowl or had a mistake in the order. Regardless, i still enjoyed it. Bonus, the side of rice came in a hot metal pot and got a bit of crisp on the edges. For the combo meal, the portions were massive! We had a ton of leftover pork and didn't finish the giant bowl of noodles. The spicy pork bulgogi was good, but didn't have that nice char at the bottom--also wasn't quite spicy either. Korean cold noodles aren't quite my thing, but flavor was solid. The entree combos are definitely quite worth with the amount of food that they give you. Service was friendly. Will definitely be back another day!

The restaurant has a classic look (wood, brick, and ducts), and the menu - meats priced by the pound on a chalkboard - adds to the retro appeal. Those meats are cut to order by a pitmaster. After making your selection, you proceed down a cafeteria-style line and pick your sides. Sauce, pickles, and Wonder Bread are free. We opted for some brisket, a jalapeno sausage link, potato salad, and creamed corn. The brisket was tender and flavorful if a bit fatty while the sausage boasted a firm bite and a winning combination of spicy and cheesy. Unexpectedly, the creamed corn ended up being a highlight. If that's a side you usually avoid, Cooper's version may end up converting you. That said, the potato salad was nothing special and the sauce was very tomato-and-vinegar-forward. As to be expected given Cooper's location and reputation, prices are also quite high (as in almost $40 a pound for brisket). That's not outrageous for a "name" BBQ place in Austin though if I had to pay that after waiting in a long line, I might walk away disappointed. Cooper's is not the best Texas BBQ you're likely to find, but it's a pretty damn solid representation thereof.

As a recipient of the prestigious Texas Monthly Top 100 BBQ Award, the expectations were high--and for the most part, they were met. The venue itself provides a fantastic, relaxed vibe, complete with plenty of TVs and a music stage, making it the perfect spot for chilling out on a lazy afternoon or settling in for an evening hang. The Main Event: Pitmaster Excellence The true test of a Texas BBQ joint is the holy trinity, and here, they nailed the fundamentals: * Brisket: This was Texas BBQ as it should be. The brisket was super juicy, delivered a profound, deep flavor, and possessed a flawless, great bark that spoke to hours of skillful smoking * Spare Ribs: A study in contrast and texture. The ribs offered a satisfying "good pull"--firm enough to bite but still falling cleanly off the bone. The thick, peppery bark was beautifully balanced by a slight sweetness from a pepper jelly glaze, adding a layer of sophisticated flavor you don't always find. * Pork Belly Burnt Ends: These were pure decadence. Each bite provided a delicious, melt-in-your-mouth experience with a distinct and welcome hint of Fierce Whiskers bourbon woven into the smoky, fatty flavor. They are so rich and irresistible, you know you shouldn't eat too many, but good luck stopping. * Jalapeño and Cheese Sausage: This locally sourced link brought the heat with a good level of spice. The flavor was excellent, though the texture leaned slightly toward the processed side, which was the only minor drawback among the meats. The Supporting Cast: Sides A great plate of BBQ requires sides that stand up to the meat, and while two of these were stars, one needs a little work. * Mac & Cheese: An absolute winner. It was cheesy, creamy, and featured an excellent smoked flavor that permeated the dish. The slightly charred edges added a delightful textural counterpoint. * Hash Brown Casserole: This was a surprisingly strong contender, offering a nice assembly of savory flavors. The secret weapon was the corn flake topping, providing an unexpected but welcome crunch, complemented by a satisfying hint of bacon. * Creamed Corn: Unfortunately, this side was the weakest link. It tasted primarily bland, despite a slight peppery note. It desperately needs some fresh jalapeños mixed in to cut through the creaminess and add the essential Texas kick. Final Verdict The meat selection here is truly Top 100 worthy, excelling in technique, flavor, and execution (especially the Brisket and Burnt Ends). The atmosphere is perfect for a relaxed gathering. While the Creamed Corn missed the mark, the stellar Hash Brown Casserole and Smoked Mac & Cheese prove that their side game is usually strong. Come for the high-quality, authentic Texas barbecue, stay for the great outdoor patio.

This spot was close to my hotel, and on my departure day, I decided to have one last hit of Q. It's a big restaurant, and it appears to also be quite the music venue. When I went, a little on the early side for a Friday dinner, there was not a wait and I was sat immediately. My server was attentive, and got me in, fed, and back out in plenty of time to catch my already delayed flight. I ordered their 3 meat combo plate, which also came with two sides, and added on a piece of cornbread. I chose brisket of course, as well as turkey and sausage. The server recommended the serrano pepper spinach (like a creamed spinach) and onion rings, and I took those recs. The best of the three meats was the turkey. Not a good sign. It was moist and tender, though not particularly smokey. Even so, I enjoyed it more than the brisket and sausage, which I would have guessed the reverse when ordering. The brisket was on the dry side and kind of bland, it did not smack of being freshly carved. The Stubbs BBQ sauce helped me eat some of it... now I see why they are famous for their sauce. I had a couple bites of the sausage and pushed it aside, I didn't enjoy their recipe on that at all. It was cooked seemingly well, but the blend of spices and meat they use wasn't pleasant to me. The sides, the onion rings were very crispy which I like, but again... something in the batter. Maybe even the oil they were cooked in, I did not enjoy as much. The spinach was actually quite enjoyable, maybe even a little rich. I think if it were warmer, if might help milden out some of that. It was really thick. The cornbread wasn't worth the add-on. No sweetness or anything to make it memorable. Vessel for butter. The portion was massive, and I had leftover food, but did not take it... and that would have been the case even if I wasn't headed to the airport. I wouldn't recommend this spot.

When I tell you these ribs were a religious experience I am not embellishing. Full disclosure: I do not currently live in the south so I don't consider myself a BBQ connoisseur, but I did spend 4 years in the south and have sampled many BBQ joints in the meantime. Take this review as someone who really enjoys BBQ (and any slow cooked meat for that matter) but who could not list more than 10 BBQ restaurants they have eaten at in the last 5 years. So the beef ribs. Great texture, tender meat but still had a bite to it. Expertly seasoned so they were not wet with sauce but still moist. I would consider 1 beef rib a snack, 2 a small meal. I also tried the chopped brisket (brisket and burnt ends sitting in a soup of BBQ sauce). That was also delicious (and more reasonably priced), but I could have done with slightly less sauce. It really was like a soup and while the sauce was tasty, there was too much of it. I went later in the afternoon (around 2/2:30pm) and got their last two beef ribs so going earlier is better. You order at the open kitchen and then pay at the counter when your food is ready. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, you can take your food and sit at any of their tables of which they have many (this place is pretty big). This place has the country vibes, old school store front with bottled cokes in old ice coolers, walk up order, get food handed to you then head to the register to pay. Prices were high for bbq, side options were Mac n cheese, beans, coleslaw, potato salad. Etc. Our group had pork ribs (2) with sides of beans, potato salad, coleslaw & mac n cheese, and a pulled pork sandwich served with pickle and raw onion on the side. Plates came with a slice of white bread. Unfortunately the food was okay but not amazing for what we paid, We will be searching for a good quality bbq still!!!

We both subbed beans for mac and cheese. My friend appeared the most jolly I'd ever seen him and thoroughly enjoyed the chicken. I really liked the mac and cheese, and I liked the chicken as well. The coleslaw was decent, and I often don't like coleslaw. The skin was tough and too much for me, but the food itself was great. The two piece was substantial for me, and the four piece seemed to be a little too much even for a big boy. The restroom floors were suspiciously very wet. I feel like they could provide some moist towelettes because the chicken was very greasy, and we had to just pour water on the napkins. Downtown street parking was a struggle, but I found 2/3 of a spot close by that I decided could count as a spot.

There was a small hiccup with the sides, but the staff was quick to fix it. The sides were good, and the chicken was juicy, flavorful, and didn't need any extra seasoning at all. I just wish the chicken pieces had been a little bigger! Overall, I had a good dining experience. The restaurant was clean and cozy, the service was great, and the chicken was delicious!

The wait was 2 hours , we arrived at 11:48 and we finally ate our food at 1:45. Let me tell you it was worth it . Nestled on the corner of the street not to far from downtown Austin. I suggest you get there when they open if not sooner. While waiting for our food , a server does come down to see more or less what you would like to order . Once inside you are able immediately hit with all kinds of smells . We ordered a pound brisket , and a half of pound ribs and a side of coleslaw and pinto beans which all came with a side of bread . Let me tell you it is more than enough. Obviously the larger the party the more food you have to order The brisket was so tender and juicy and well seasoned. The ribs fell off the bone and the side were really good and I don't even like pinto beans . The women at the register were so lovely and nice and they answered any questions you had . There is indoor and outdoor seating so there is enough space . I did not indulge in the desserts but i would next time . Please do me the favor and visit franklins, it is 1,000 % worth it . Until next time .

I always heard great praise for the brisket from Franklin's and am happy to be able to admit that they have some of the best. As someone who doesn't typically enjoy lean cuts, their leans came out juicier than some place's fattiest cuts. On the fatty cuts, the meat was very well rendered, and it remained succulent! I will say I was expecting more flavoring from bark, but it was very much a "taste the essence of the quality of craftsmanship of this meat" rather than an emphasis of seasoning. While very well prepared, I did need some bbq sauce to make it hit. I enjoy ribs from a couple other spots more than I did from Franklin's, but ya can't do it all. As for the sides, I was sadly disappointed. The pickles were incredibly salty and the beans were a flavor and textural miss. The potato salad was okay, but I would call it not far off from what you'd get in a bucket from HEB. Had me missing the quality sides from Interstellar 100%! We did pickup to split with friends and skip the line. In ordering ahead, you're not allowed to eat there. Unfortunately, they didn't provide any utensils or napkins for our BBQ picnic. Eat with those hands and lick them fingers!

We found Gebby's BBQ to be reasonably priced compared to other Austin BBQ restaurants. From the beginning, both Chris (The Owner and Master Pit Man) and Elizabeth to be extremely professional and prompt. Any questions or changes needed on the quote, they were on top of anything we needed. The day of the event, they arrived early as they said they would and set up quickly. The aroma of the food was wonderful throughout our venue. We had a handful of vegetarian/vegan employees and the offer a smoked vegetable tray with corn tortillas as one of their options. The food we chose was a 3 meat plate with 3 sides and cookies for the dessert. We chose Brisket, Turkey and Sausage. For the sides, we had Gouda Mac and Cheese, Creamed Corn and Beans. Everything was extremely delicious and the feedback I gathered from numerous employees was nothing but positive reviews on the food. They even allow us to KEEP the leftover food! This was awesome as we had a few bbq quotes that STATED that we could not keep the leftover food! Overall, our experience with them far exceeded our expectations and I would recommend them for your catering needs!
