This was an amazing find! Absolutely delicious food, great service, fast ordering. I miss Chinese food, and Austin doesn't have a lot. I'm glad this place exists bc it has authentic Sichuan flavors.

This might be my new favorite sichuan restaurant in Austin! We ordered the mapo tofu, twice cooked pork, lazi chicken, and spicy boiled fish, the classic options. The depth of flavors really impressed me.

This was my fourth visit to Spicy House, and at this point it's safe to say they've never missed. Every dish we ordered tonight was consistently flavorful, fresh, and exactly what I expect from good Sichuan cooking. The Mapo Tofu was silky and spicy, it does need a little more flavor. The Chengdu Hot Spicy Beef came out tender and soaked in a rich, aromatic broth layered with spices, garlic, and herbs. The Salt and Pepper Shrimp was crisp, fragrant, and perfectly seasoned -- light batter, great texture. The Pork with Bamboo was simple in the best way: tender slices of pork, crunchy bamboo shoots. After four visits, Spicy House continues to deliver reliable, delicious dishes every time. It's become one of my go‑to spots in Austin for satisfying Sichuan food, and I'll definitely be back again to keep exploring the menu.

New Chinese restaurant. I ordered shredded pork chili, wonton, spicy wontons, lettuce and Woodear. My favorite is spicy wontons and shredded pork chili. Both are full of flavors and other two taste pretty light.

Excellent. Everything was delicious and fresh. They don't OD on MSG like some other places, I won't say no names (bamboo house). If you're craving spice- they definitely got you and if you can't handle spice (myself) they got you as well.

Good food and spacious restaurant, in the old Nagoya steak and sushi location. It's spacious inside with booths and large tables available. Food service was quick and efficient and prices were reasonable.

Nice food~ love it. Authentic Chinese food. I'm surprised that they have chopped lettuce stem.. it tastes really nice, just hard to chop.

I just ate here with a group of friends and had SO much fun sharing food family style!! The food was insanely good with large portions. The staff was extremely attentive and friendly. I would highly recommend coming here with a big group so you get to try a little bit of everything! Some of my favorites were the green beans, scallion beef, bean curd with pork, and chengdu spicy fish! Please come try it :)

They are in a "soft opening" phase currently, and we got to meet the owner who was very enthusiastic about his business, the community, and garnering any feedback we had. The food is - in one word, impeccable. We went in for a snack and ended up ordered 4x as much as we meant to because everything was so darn delicious. The menu consists of baos, sushi, hand rolls, adorable pearl shaped nigiri, bento, and more - they are all customizable with yummy sauces (miso butter - mmm!), and many types of protein (seriously like all the protein options you can find at a premium sushi bar). Everything is served with house made sauces so if you are a condiment gal/guy like me this is your place! Food - I had the escolar, unagi, and scallop hand rolls (all under $5 each) and was so surprised by the quality / freshness of the protein and the portions given. The escolar was so soft and buttery. I then ordered the shrimp fresh roll (also under $5, it was HUGE) and the chicken katsu baos (around $6-7) - they were amazing. The chicken tenders are panko crusted and fried crispy. BF tried the steak baos and LOVED them too. Okay also did I mention the PRICES?! You can't get quality food like that for a greater deal. Drinks are all $8 and hit the spot :) The interior is not completely redone / set up yet but I can't to come back when it is! The phone / QR code system makes it so easy to order. It is pretty cheap, but the serving sizes match the price, not really filling you up. The baos were pretty good. The char siu pork belly didn't look the most appealing. But it smelled and tasted pretty decent. They give you a good amount of meat too. The turmeric chicken was pretty good too, I really liked the seasoning on this one. The sushi was ok though. The presentations was super cute, with the little sushi balls! But the fish itself didn't taste as fresh as I would have liked. The workers were all really friendly though. You can practically see inside the whole kitchen when you walk in, so it's a little unsettling walking in and seeing all the workers like standing there waiting for you to put your order in online, but interacting with them, they were really friendly.

However, when we went there, they told us many of the dishes on the online menu were no longer served, due to recent change in ownership. So no, they didn't have Bánh Xèo or many other items anymore. I'm not sure if they have added items back yet. But if you want certain items, I'd recommend calling ahead. I got their hot stone filet mignon rice noodles. This dish was served by a heated stone bowl with broth. On the side were two plates: one with bean sprouts, Thai basil, and jalapeño slices - the classic trio, and the other with filet mignon, rice noodles, and veggies. I was supposed to add ingredients to the bowl to cook them. Since the stone bowl was already full of broth, I had to ask for an extra bowl for me to scoop out some broth to get some space for other ingredients. That was fine, but the stone bowl was extremely hot, so I ended up overcooking both the meat and rice noodles... Their stone bowl rice noodles is from $30 -$45. Given the price and experience, I wouldn't come back.

For roughly $60 the wife was full and we had roughly 6 dishes and one cocktail (I was still slightly hungry). Think of it as more of a tapas style ordering. Soft shelled crab - My absolute favorite and by far the best dish! Crispy from the breading, soft shell and subtle crab taste, and to top it off the fried egg adds some creaminess from the yolk. Not greasy at all due to the way it's fried. And who doesn't like a little microgreen to add some freshness to it?! It could likely use a little more salt, and this particular time the yolk was a overcooked. Sushi Tacos - 2nd favorite! You get two, and frankly I prefer not sharing these (although my wife forced me to). It's such a unique dish. Each taco is palm sized. They take a yummy piece of laver (seaweed), coat one side and deep fry it to make a nice hard shell taco casing. Then they fill it with sushi rice, top it with plentiful tuna, add a slice of avocado, and top it with micro greens. Refreshing, light (once you squeeze the tiny lime on top), slightly filling due to the rice, and absolutely delicious. Takoyaki - I'm not a fan, but the wife is. For me it's a texture thing. Even when visiting Japan I didn't enjoy this dish. Honestly though I do think it deserves far more bonito flakes, as the dish is meant to look alive from the waving flakes. Honestly we love this place so much, I always get engrossed in the food so much I forget to take pics. The overall ambience is chill and refined, albeit no white tableclothes, but it acts like it should have them. This place happened to be just a few minutes from our hotel and I'm really glad we gave it a shot. First off, it's very mom-and-pop -- no frills, straight to the point, and focused on the food. I did think it was interesting that they also operate as a Chinese restaurant, but honestly, it's probably a smart move given the area. More ways to bring people in the door. The staff were incredibly friendly. It genuinely felt like being back in the Philippines. They were also super accommodating with our toddler, which always earns bonus points from me. We ordered the pansit, sizzling sisig, and sizzling chicken BBQ and all three were delicious. The pansit was savory and loaded with veggies and shrimp. The sisig was nicely peppery with just the right amount of spice. The sizzling chicken BBQ was such a great twist on the classic -- I might actually prefer it this way over skewers. It was easier to eat and came with extra sauce to drizzle over rice. Even though we were stuffed and already had to-go boxes, we couldn't skip halo-halo. It was the perfect ending -- refreshing, sweet, and exactly what we needed. If I lived here, I'd honestly be a regular. If you're looking for solid Filipino food in Austin, this is definitely a spot to check out.

Meat portions are generous, especially the tender brisket and rare steak in Pho. Good portions, often enough for two meals, making it feel worth the price. Huge, well-filled egg rolls are a big hit. Decent, fresh, classic ingredients, especially Pho and sandwich. I easily noticed their quick, attentive, and polite staff. The restaurant exudes a bright, modern, and clean atmosphere. A point for consideration: when ordering, use the number/letter code instead of the food name to prevent any mistakes. My son who happens to be a vegan ordered a vegan Banh Mi (Banh Mi Chay) which has almost the same food name as a pork Bahn Mi (Banh Mi Cha Lau). They served a pork Bahn Mi, it took some time for my son to realize that he was eating a pork sandwich. It was partly a mistake from both sides, we did not blame the restaurant. The restaurant manager/owner was kind enough to give my son a complimentary fresh vegan Banh Mi upon everybody realizing the mistake. I was glad that my son never had a stomach upset that night. Despite the mishap, I am still giving this restaurant a high rating. One of the best Pho I have ever tasted.
