Pad Thai with chicken, shrimp, and steak
    Jenn D.

This is my go to in Indian Trail for Thai. The pad Thai is always consistently good with plenty of sauce on it. This visit I decided to try a Thai tea and I am so glad I did. It was delightful! Lots of great spice flavors throughout the drink. I did order it less sweet and the server made sure to put a little less coconut milk or whatever it is they use it in. It is an order again for sure!

Strangest Sesame Chicken. For $19 with no side?

Normally I love this place but I haven't been in a while. Today's was pretty disappointing. Sesame chicken was weird and didn't come with rice or anything- for $19? The spicy edamame was refrigerator cold and very different tasting - not in a good way. Everything else was warm. The Shrimp hibachi was good, but it was requested without veggies. The pho was okay, but didn't come with jalapeños. Spring rolls and sauce were delish as normal! Overall still good, not bad, just disappointing in comparison.

This has been my go-to for Thai in the Charlotte area but it's been a few years since I was here. All I can say is that it's even better than before! The decor is updated, as is the menu. They offer a good selection of entrees, appetizers and sushi. Cameron, the server was fast, friendly and efficient. We had the Pad Thai (one chicken, one vegetarian/tofu) and a trio appetizer as entrees. All were fresh and delicious. The veggie pad Thai has a better selection of vegetables than any other I've had in the area. All the appetizers were well cooked, crisp and hot. This was a great experience and I'll definitely be back!

    Crab wontons

FINALLY!!!! I have found a delicious Thai spot in the Charlotte area! Their spice level (1-5) is beautiful. I ordered the pad kee mow at a level five and was not disappointed. Their crab wontons were also delicious- you could tell these were made fresh and not frozen. The only sad thing was they used jalapeños instead of Thai chili but I'm willing to overlook that because the flavor profile was delicious. Ambiance is super cute- you wouldn't expect it from looking at the small plaza area from the outside. It's worth the obnoxious drive down independence! I'll be back to explore more of their menu!

I've been intrigued by this little restaurant located off of a busy Independence Blvd in Indian Trail for the past few months, and my wife and I intentionally chose a cold rainy Saturday to try it for lunch. They offer the traditional Asian specials, however we ordered the Chicken Larb and Pho Ga, both Vietnamese specialties. Everything was delicious particularly the Larb, which I had never had before. There are a couple of South Charlotte places that have slightly better pho but not by much. Service was friendly and attentive. The dining area is polished, contemporary and full of natural light. I'm not sure if it has been recently updated, but it's nothing like the drab atmosphere that I was expecting based on some other Yelp reviews. Sanitary rating was a 96.5 and everything did indeed looked immaculate. Will return.

Very good food and service. I enjoyed the Crab Rangoon and a delicious bowl of tom kha. Decor was simple, cute and very clean.

I definitely can't say enough good words about the food and the service and the overall experience. Five stars is all I can give but if there were more this restaurant would well deserve it. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of food served! I have eaten here many times and I have tried virtually everything on the menu. With that said, here is my take on it. Everything that I have tried has been delicious! For cold appetizers, I am a big fan of the Black Fungus W. Vinegar Sauce, Cold Spicy Sour Cucumber and the Spicy Beef Tendon. For hot appetizers, everyone raves about the Popcorn Chicken and I concur that it's very good! I really like the Frled Pork Gyoza too. For the main course, they have some rice dishes, but the main focus is the hot pot soups. They bring out a 300°F Stone bowl of broth (in an insulated pot holder) and the ingredients to put in it. You put the meat and lettuce in first, then the other ingredients and the noodles last then wait for "10 seconds"thus the name of the restaurant. I have tried all of the broths and they are all good depending on your tastes. The original broth is the bass broth. Then they add things to the other others to differentiate them. My favorites are the Tomato Soup (especially with Beef Flank) and Spicy Soup. If you like things VERY spicy, they can bring you some cut Thai peppers. The wait staff are patient are very helpful in guiding patrons. They understand that this is a new experience for them. They also pay attention to their customers eating habits. One time when I went in, they noticed that I added lots of chili peppers and chili oil to my food. That's when she said she could bring me some very hot fresh chili peppers. Charlotte is truly blessed to have so many great authentic Chinese body shops popping up all over town! I highly recommend this place! Cheers!

We started with the pork gyoza, which were delivered quickly and were delicious. For our entrees, I had the Tonkotsu Black with added braised tofu, and my husband had the Spicy Tantan. I don't usually like eggs in my ramen (because they are never cooked enough), but Menya cooked theirs perfectly soft boiled, and I loved the flavor the egg added to the soup. Both soups had complex flavors, and we loved them. The tofu was great--thinly sliced and flavorful, if a bit salty--but I am not sure I'd need it again. My husband thought his soup was perfectly spicy. A note about parking - if you can park in the lot in front of the building, you scan a QR code, and open a parking time block. (I believe Menya paid for a 2-hour block.) You then enter the information on an iPad at the back of the restaurant to validate your parking and start the clock. It was easier than I expected, and I'd definitely use this parking service again. And if you can't get a spot in the lot in front of the building, you can park on the neighborhood streets just one or two blocks away. All told, it was a great meal for a reasonable cost. We'll definitely return!

I'm inclined to believe this was intentional and that they know what they're doing. The cucumbers were not good at all. The skin was tough and the texture of the cucumbers were rubbery rather that crisp and snappy. The dish itself lacked balance and was very heavy on the vinegar. It's important to note that the fried tofu add-on was excellent. They used soft tofu and it was fried to perfection. The service was standard. The food was brought out quickly.
