    Walnut Shrimp

I was greeted at the door. She was very friendly. The restaurant was very busy with customers picking up orders. I only had to wait a minute or so for my order. The egg roll was average can't say a tasted any chicken. The walnut shrimp were very fishy and the dish was very watery from the broccoli. I missed the light crispy batter on the shrimp. The portion size was appropriate. Not please for $23.

Very delicious Chinese food. We got a bunch of meals For take out and it was ready when I got there.Me like that. The restaurant is clean and has a decent amount of seating if you want to dine in. Me like that.My grandchildren love this place. Me like there input. I deducted one star because we ordered thee different kinds of beef meals and the sauces all tasted the same. Kind of generic you know. They should all be slightly different you know. Anyway we enjoyed our meals. God bless all my fellow foodies

I ordered a pad Thai and it was the most unsatisfying pad Thai I've ever seen, the chicken tasted like it was super salty and rubbery also they throw the chicken skin in it (Gross) one would think it was egg but surely it was not. Completely disgusting and disappointing I would rather get it at noodles and company

Love this place! And if you go try to get Larry as your server! I have been to a few different Red Bowls in NC but this has to be my favorite so far. The most amazing thing is the 1/2 price sushi menu from 7:30-9:30 if you order a drink. I usually go with a soda but if you go with an alcoholic drink the prices are very good as well. The stir-fry bar on the menu is really good as well! If you order the lo-mein or the fried rice you won't be disappointed in the portions. If you find something you don't like I would be surprised...

Pretty good size shopping plaza and it's a standalone building. Don't have to walk thru the plaza dealing with people. Park and walk right in. For me, service is what made it just an OK experience. It was a little late for dinner but the restaurant was still open. I understand the side work for closing as I've been in the field before but if you have a table, it should be a focus on the guests not the other way around. There was a mix up on the bill and the annoyance on her face seemed as if she felt it was my fault. But she did fix the issue almost seeming begrudgingly. I'll also mention that I had to flag down other staff for refills, as well as the bill. And you know how it goes - one thing is off and it makes for a forgettable experience. But I will say that dinner was fine. See pics. Can't complain about prices or portions but when I was annoyed, I was just eating to eat. I don't know anyone out here whose tastes for Sushi/Sashimi aligns with mine so it's hard to say whether I'd go back or not. First, obviously I don't live there and second, more places I'd probably want to try before I go back for service like I experienced that night. But it's probably not likely

We wandered into this little…read moreKorean spot and before we could even ask for the menu, the table started filling up with little bowls of kimchi, bean sprouts, pickled vegetables, and enough side dishes to make you wonder if you'd accidentally ordered for twelve. The dumplings came out first--golden brown, crispy on one side, tender on the other, and disappearing faster than a politician's campaign promise. Then came a bibimbap still sizzling in its stone bowl, daring you to stir that runny egg into a mountain of fresh vegetables and rice. Finally, there was a kimchi pancake the size of a hubcap, crispy around the edges, soft in the middle, and just spicy enough to remind you it wasn't playing around. Everything tasted fresh, well-seasoned, and made by someone who cared more about feeding people than impressing Instagram. The service was quick, friendly, and never let our drinks run dry. About the only disappointment was realizing we'd eventually have to stop eating. If you're looking for fancy white tablecloths, keep driving. If you're looking for authentic Korean food that'll have you planning your next visit before you've paid the check, you've found your place. As a Bay Area foodie, I'm always searching for Chinese food that gives me that same feeling I get in San Francisco or Houston's Chinatown. Lam's comes close. The ingredients taste fresh, everything is made to order, the proteins are tender, and the flavors have depth without being heavy or overdone. This visit, I ordered the scallion beef, and it was excellent--tender beef, plenty of scallions and onions, and beautifully seasoned. I asked for something spicy on the side, thinking sambal or hot chili sauce, and they brought me chili crisp. Perfect. And yes, I know sweet and sour pork can sound cliché, but theirs deserves some respect. It's made with cubes of tender pork, bell peppers and pineapple, and the sauce isn't cloyingly sweet. The quality of the pork makes the dish. I'm already looking forward to the leftovers. Other favorites include the string beans with ground pork and the beef with broccoli. Both are stellar. They also have an extensive dim sum menu. It's ordered from the menu rather than served from carts, which means there's plenty more for me to work my way through. There's something comforting about eating here. Seeing families gathered around the tables enjoying Chinese food sometimes makes me a little homesick for meals out with my mom. Food has a funny way of doing that. The restaurant itself is clean, comfortable and nicely air-conditioned, with a large live seafood/lobster tank. Service is friendly and fast. Portions are generous, prices are reasonable, and there's an easy parking lot right outside. Lam's Kitchen has earned a permanent spot in my rotation. I'll happily keep making the drive to Matthews and eating my way through the menu. Life is too short not to eat well. Get out there and find your next meal.
