A saleswoman called me a couple days after writing the previous Yelp review to remove it. She briefly apologized about how they treated me but spent the next 5-10 minutes asking me to edit/remove my yelp review as it was "not a nice language". After figuring out I would not remove it, the saleswoman asked nonstop on editing the yelp review to include a specific saleswoman name who helped me so that she does not get in trouble with the boss/manager. The entirety of the call was not to make amends, but rather have me edit the review to get a saleswoman out of trouble. I had no choice but to hang up the call after repeating 5 times I would not be doing be editing the previous Yelp review. The saleswoman wanted an edit, here is an edit she asked for. read more

HME. Hot Mess Express! Everything is "I'll give you good price, don't worry, good price". Okayyyy, but what is the price? SA said "if you're serious, I'll give you good price. I try my best, I promise." But I just want to know the PRICE. Jesus. Had a sweet SA showing my friend and I merchandise and I guess the manager, was running back and forth stating she will give the price. Long story short, she gave the wrong price. She wrote the total $14,920. We already handed her the cc and then she crosses it out and says it's the wrong price and I cannot buy it at that price. And to add insult, when I was taking a picture of the receipt she snatched it out of my hand. Prior to that, she snatched the calculator out of my hand as well. Now my total is $18,650 because she said the calculator calculated wrong. NO THANKS. Changing the price once you have the card in your hand? Unethical. Update 2/3/24 Thank you for your response and acknowledgment of this experience, Victoria. Human error would have been acceptable if she apologized and recognized the error on her part. Blaming the calculator, saying it's broken and it calculated wrong is an entirely different situation. When she snatched it away and stated "you cannot buy", she had no interest in trying to make a deal work. She had more interest in having us leave the store. Ironically, the store was having a visit from either vendors and owners . Everything was nice, up until they left. The security guard even left when they did and the other man was playing poker on his phone. Check your cameras.. we were there for at least 2 hours while the SA was running around and attending 2 different customers. There was no consideration to the time that we waited. And it wasn't a small amount looking to be purchased. Traditional Retail, especially in jewelry, is challenging for companies and owners. Service and merchandise should be even more exceptional! Regardless if it's $200 or $14,000, every dollar counts. The fact that she didn't even TRY to rectify the situation shows she doesn't need our business. Honestly, I really wanted to support this store and become a long term customer where I could build my watch collection and buy jewelry from, but their service really misses the mark, especially for a high-end watch store. When you are spending this kind of money, I would definitely recommend going somewhere else as you would get a much better service. This is just my personal experience, but on my first visit here, I bought a new $10,000 watch and left another one of my old watches to get serviced. As time went on, they really went out of their way to make me jump through all kinds of hoops like forcing me come back in person to pay additional fees just to get the watch looked at. It really was not about the money, but more so the unnecessary inconveniences they put me through. Through it all, I knew I could have just sent the watch to the manufacturer directly for a much better price, but as I said, I was willing to pay a markup to support their business and build a long-term relationship. At the end of it, I just had enough. I asked for my watch back and took it somewhere else to get serviced. They held my watch for 3 months, kept my $250 deposit for all their inspection fees, and handed me back a still broken watch. read more

He will help you get the maximum discount as well (wink)! Off hand I know they carry Omega, Grand Seiko, Mont Blanc, Patek Philippe, Panerai, Longines, Tag Heuer and much more on top of the jewelry. I got a sweet deal from Eric on a new Panerai. This Chong Hing branch is located towards the rear portion of a strip mall with a bunch of restaurants and other retail shops. It is not easy to spot along Colima Road. So pick a driveway and head towards the back area of the complex. The store is very nice and upscale inside. I've been told that the interior was recently renovated and it shows. The exterior is typical but nothing too fancy. Shady place, don't ever buy anything from this place, unless you are a "fob", or someone who doesn't speak English and doesn't mind getting ripped off by rude sales peep. Came here to look at some watches. The sales lady was very aggressive and the prices she gave us were all over the place. She finally gave us a price we thought was fairly reasonable (we did our research on the watch ahead of time) but we wanted to think about it over lunch so we told her we will come back after we go eat. She said ok. When we went back after lunch, the price went up almost 25%!!! She denied ever giving us the earlier price and said whatever price she gave us earlier was the price at that time. Don't EVER buy anything from this place! I came here to see if they can fix my band on my watch. The guy that usually do the repair was not working today. They asked if I wanted to leave the watch overnight to get a quote. I said no because I wasn't comfortable leaving my watch overnight. I was then looking at their collection of Omega watches and asked to try on one of their watches. Oh what a mistake! I should of walked out after inquiring about the repair on my watch. After saying no when they asked if I wanted to buy their watch, the saleslady got very aggressive with me & trying to close the sale on me! Goodness, it was to the point where she dropped $2,000 on the price tag to make a sale. On top of that the manager came close to me and the saleslady to hear and see what was going on. So if somebody come in and buys a watch without negotiating the price, this means that they are most likely overpaying for anything that they have for sale there. Came in with my Aunt to get our watch batteries changed and asked the sales lady if she had time to do so. She accepted the work and went to the back room. Within 10min a tour bus dropped off a bunch of tourist shoppers who came into the store. She came out with one watch completed and asked us to wait while she waited on 4 customers over 60min! When I asked her to just give me my watch back after 30min, she said she had already opened the watch and to wait and walked away. OMG! If she had it open why didn't she just take 5 min to finish the job! I am so angry. Just because I am not here to drop $10k on a watch doesn't mean I shouldn't be treated like a customer. Came here looking for an Omega. I already had a fairly good idea about current market price on the watch. The sales lady gave me a price that was way higher than the going rate. When I told her what I believe the reasonable price should be, she quoted me a price somewhat close to the market price. However, she denied ever quoting me that price when I came back about 40 minutes later. There's another shop by the same name in DTLA. They are just as shady on pricing. It's as if they are just out to pull a fast one. It is very very sad that people operate like this. I ultimately bought the watch at another place. Way better customer service and competitive price without all the hassle and games. Do NOT buy from any of their shops. I am a big watch enthusiast and collector and came into Chong Hing Jewelers looking for a very specific Omega watch. The Good: During my first visit, the watch I was looking for was not in stock. The sales associate (Peggy) was very friendly, and took down my information to let me know as soon as the watch arrives. She even offered to place an order for me and offered a decent discount up front, but I wasn't in any rush to purchase especially without seeing the watch in person first. Sure enough within 2 weeks or so I receive a text message letting me know that the watch has arrived and that they would hold it for me. I was even sent some nice pictures of the watch via text message just to confirm it was the exact model I was looking for. I was very happy with the initial follow up Peggy provided, and this is the reason I gave my review an extra star. The Bad: Being a watch enthusiast, I did a ton of research and have a pretty solid idea of what the current going rate for the watch in question is at reputable grey market dealers. I simply use this as a starting point for negotiations, and understand that I will have to pay more than grey market when buying from an authorized dealer, no issues there. Sometimes I end up getting the deal I want, and sometimes an authorized dealer just simply cannot or does not want to give me as aggressive of a discount I am looking for, I fully understand that and don't take it personally. I did however take issue with being outright lied to, and the manager being petty and unprofessional. Here are some of the specific examples: 1) I initially asked if they had more than 1 of the watch in question in stock, as I would prefer an unboxed one rather than the one in the display case. I was told no. Once I noticed that there were some scratches on the bracelet of the watch in the display case, all of sudden they had another one in the back. 2) The sales associate told me that this watch was special because Omega uses special steel which is different from other brands and therefore justifies a premium in price. This is just factually incorrect, Omega uses 316L steel just like all other manufacturers do with the exception of Rolex who uses 904L steel. 3) When I cited the grey market price (from very well known, reputable dealers in the watch community) as a reference/starting point for negotiations, both of the employees that were helping me laughed, told me that I didn't know what I was doing, and basically started making up facts and excuses for why nobody should ever buy grey market. Some example include: - If I was buying grey market, the pieces must be defective or used returns that nobody wanted- Not true, these pieces were listed as brand new from very well known, popular dealers. I provided 4 specific examples/names. -The prices I was seeing online must be before taxes- Not true, I offered to pull up the details but they declined as soon as I pulled out my phone. -The grey market dealers would have fake movements in them- Not true, these are reputable dealers, but in any case I said that I could always take the watch to an Omega boutique to have its authenticity confirmed. -Omega does not authenticate watches not bought directly from an AD- Not true. I pointed out that when buying grey market, it is common to have watches appraised (and authenticity confirmed) in order to insure them. 4) Once it was becoming clear that neither side was going to budge during the negotiations, and I specifically pointed out some of the untruths I was being fed as outlined above, the manager asked me where I bought the watch I was wearing and what discount I got (it was a fair bit more expensive watch than the Omega I was looking to purchase that day). Even though I had no need to, I shared the name of the AD and percentage discount I got (very healthy discount, extremely close to grey market price), and she said that I got a terrible deal and that they ripped me off and walked away. Not only was this completely inaccurate, I also found it to be extremely unprofessional and petty. Bottom Line: Overall Chong Hing Jewelers does have a pretty solid selection, and if someone is looking for a decent discount with minimal effort, it's probably not a bad place to go. As many of the other reviews have mentioned they cater to a very specific clientele, and as a result the customer service is definitely lacking. Additionally, some of the employees don't seem to be the most knowledgable about the time pieces they are selling, and often make up facts or lie to try and talk up the watch. If both sides cannot agree upon a price when negotiating, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that, however it is extremely disappointing to deal with an authorized dealer that would make up facts and outright lie to a potential customer. read more

I came in to look for a watch for my wedding. This is my first expensive watch purchase and I wanted to make sure I was going to do it right. I've been to a great number of luxury watch stores in the past few months and I can say this was the least intimidating. I was immediately approached and helped by Peggy. She did not pressure me at all and was very helpful. She encouraged me to try on all of the watches I was considering and did not rush me at all. I had a few watches in mind from previous visits at other watch stores. Unfortunately, at the time of my visit, they did not have the watch that I wanted. Peggy immediately went to work and called to make sure that she can get my watch in before my wedding date. She went above and beyond and even gave me a really good deal on my watch. I am writing this review because Chang Hing Jewelers in Rowland Heights store took my $1500 deposit, lied to the customer, and never delivered the order to me for TEN MONTHS. On July 18, 2015, I paid the store $1500 deposit to order an Omega watch named "Speedmaster Apollo 13 silver Snoopy Award" at Chong Hing Jewelers Rowland Heights store. Because this watch is a limited edition from Omega, the sale person told me that the watch had not been released to the jeweler dealers yet. But the store would order the watch for me and they required me to pay a deposit, which I paid $1500 on July 18, 2015 to secure the watch. During the past ten months, I have been contacting the store sales person many times through phone calls and text messages. She confirmed with me that the company had ordered the watch for me and it was guaranteed that I would receive the watch once Omega sends to them. Furthermore, in mid-March of 2016, the sales person called me that she would have the watch soon according to her inform received from her boss. By the end of May, when I called her to ask for the delivery date, she told me that she would not have the watch for me anymore. The watch has been sold out. How can they sell out a watch that has been pre-ordered and deposited TEN MOTHS ago by a customer ? The store never informed me that they could not get the watch for me. Now, it has been ten months that the company kept my deposit and lied to me that they would have the watch for me. When I finally confronted with store sales person and spoke to the company manager Jenny, she said that they cannot sell the watch to me that I ordered ten months ago any more. All they have to do is to refund me the $1500 deposit and that is the best they can do. I cannot believe this company that sells expensive jewelries and watches has no any credibility or basic customer service manner to consumers. Now, I cannot order the watch at any other store anymore because the other store has sold the watch to the customers who per-ordered from them. Chang Hing wasted my TEN MOTHS value time!!! I got nothing from them and they still kept my $1500 deposit. I will fight to seek the fair customer service from Chang Hing caused me. In the meanwhile, please be careful when you deal with this company. My suggestion is going to other jewelry stores, so you will have less headaches. Bought couple things here for my wife and myself. My tag heuer watch stop working one year after and I didn't bother coz I thought was me not taking care of it well... Bought another tag heuer watch for my wife just to match me years after and then turn out battery was dead 2weeks after... she walk in try to get replacement after all the trouble and explanation. Few month after.... battery die again!!! And then finally a year after that battery die again and we had hard time to get it replace just because we don't remember when we bought it (shouldn't they have all records? Finally we found the purchased date and tell them and end up watch didn't work after we get back from them.... because they replace the battery wrong!!! Now talk about the ring I bought for my wife... same problem about I need to find out the purchase date when we ask for re-size. After 2 month get the ring back.. one of diamond fall off and we don't know where it goes!!!! Holy shit!!! And they told me they sent back to Hearts on Fire!!!!
