Street Corn & Chicken for 1

Delicious lunch at chook - all the food was excellently prepared and had great flavors!! The service was great but the restaurant seemed a little dated and not the most comfortable to sit in - would be great for take out. We got the chicken salad BLAT and the chicken for 1

Needed somewhere to eat and my hubby and I decided to get something different besides sushi or pizza so we got rotisserie chicken but the chickens different since they stopped using the charcoal fire rotisserie that gave the chicken a smoked taste. My veggies were room temperature- could have been hot. Now the wedges are delicious but not a big fan of the ketchup they make in house. It was nice to have them bring our order to us. So I like that about the service. Sad they were out of the chicken salad this time. But if you love wedge potatoes this is a great spot to get them and have a side salad!

Today, I discovered a little Australia in Denver. I started seeing this restaurant pop up in several parts of Denver in the last several years. My curiosity got tickled each time passed by the Pearl Street location more than a handful of times. As much as I wanted to know badly as to what kind of food they served, I walked past by it as if I didn't have the guts to spontaneously pop in and dine. I don't know why I had kept bypassing it until today. Luckily however, I was able to muster up the courage I needed to try it for the first time at their Orchard location (it's their newest location I believe) as I had some business I needed to take care of in the same shopping center where the restaurant is located. Glad I did. This place focuses on "clean eating". Chook apparently is an Aussie lingo and it means chicken. It's a rotisserie chicken place that sells affordability but with class. They truly care about our bodies so what goes into their cooking is a big deal to them. This all resonates with me. Alex Seidel, the guy who is responsible for the creation of this restaurant chain also owns none other than Fruition and Mercantile Dining & Provisions. I had no clue. The time was around 4:30pm on a beautiful September day (Monday). A bit early for dinner. For me, it was a super late lunch and early dinner combined. I wanted some quality protein to satisfy my hunger. As I was checking out this place on Yelp, I simply could think of anything else than this. I knew I came to the right place once I was inside the restaurant. A very clean entrance leads to the ordering counter but before I got there I took the time to take some photos of the decorations and wall art. No rush/no hurry; I was pretty much the only customer. A young man friendlily greeted me (Derrick per the receipt.) He made a quick recommendation as I told him I was looking for the best/signature dish. He said to get the Chook for You, a plate of quarter chicken and a side. He then asked me if I wanted the white or dark meat. As my first meal at this restaurant, I simply couldn't think of anything other than the traditional white chicken. For the side, I chose the Smashed Cucumbers. I wanted a bit more on top of the combo plate. I hence got me the very popular Mac and Cheese. At that moment I simply couldn't wait to go home and experience my very first chicken from Chook. Chook does know how to perfectly cook chicken. The meat was well seasoned and yet it wasn't salty at all. The moisture level was consistent throughout the quarter meat. The Smashed Cucumber was another bomb. It resembles the Japanese "sunomono" so it's a bit sweet with a little bit of tanginess. Perfectly smashed to the point where cucumber pieces were not too soggy. Mac and Cheese was equally delicious. Again, not salty; not too cheesy. Not that I eat a lot of mac and cheese but I may have to say that this may be one of the best Mac and Cheese I've had in the past (if it's not the best.) There are other items on the menu that simply didn't escape my notice. I will have to go back and try it at a later time. Chook is solid. It's a fast casual restaurant where you are not breaking the bank but the quality is guaranteed. There are other eateries that serve rotisserie chicken but Chook truly shook me. For this reason, I am expressing my sincere gratitude for today's exceptional to-go experience. Enjoyed it!

Cut up the chicken! We had to wrestle that rascal to the table to saw off the wing and leg quarter. I know, first world problem.... But it was very tender and tasty. Also had a chop salad, mashers and gravy (Mama's) and Mac and Cheese. I've gotta say the Mac and Cheese was fabulous, especially the macaroni ... cooked perfectly. Had 2 sauces: BBQ and chimichuri (sp?). Most store traffic appeared to be takeout. Very industrial feel, order at the front and they bring it out. It appeared we were supposed to bus our own table ... so why tip? Anyway, large portions with take home boxes. Good enough to try again.

Hey Denver. Remember Chook Chicken? It been a while for me. Probably you too. But it's like seeing a good friend after a while. You just reconnect easily! I went to their first opening in Denver back in 20I8? I remember back then how good their chicken was. I went a few more times and life happened. Their chicken is seasoned well, and cooked on a rotisserie. Their sides-OMG-how I missed everything! Their sides are amazing! We had the Mac & cheese and charred mixed veggies. You might end up liking this veggie side even if you're not a veggie loving person. There's a crunch in every bite because it's cooked on a grill. It's just delicious! The Mac & Cheese is just right. It should come with a warning! They only use wholesome, pure ingredients. Not a single additive or preservative. Oh and the salad. It's a revelation! Beets and Berries. Only uses Colorado raised Chooks. This location is much bigger than the Denver location. I'm so happy they're still around and still serve delicious food! All this is Alex Seidel's idea! He came up with the entire menu! Oh and they care. By giving back 1% of their sale to the community! Chook means chicken in Aussie lingo. This a fast casual I can put my back into. Reasonable prices, healthy and local! Featured: Chook for two Half chicken ( you can choose dark or white meat. We did ) Includes choices of two sauce. (We chose Piri- Piri and chimichuri). Shareable sides is the Charred mixed veggies. Carrot, broccoli, cauliflower, lemon tahini, cashew dukkah V/GF. MAC & cheese Orrecchiette, white cheddar, bread crumbs Beets and Berries-spiced nuts, grilled gold beets, greens, berries, dried cherries, balsamic onions, parm, balsamic vinaigrette. Friendly staff that's eager to extend their help!

I was impressed with Chook Chicken! I ordered the chicken salad sandwich and it was so flavorful! I really like it because the chicken wasn't covered in mayo like it normally is in chicken salad sandwiches and you could taste the seasonings. The chicken was very moist! I also ordered the Chook wedges and one pacific roll, which were both delicious as well! The staff were super friendly and I loved that they drew a smily face on my roll wrapper. Made my day!

Absolutely loved this rotisserie chicken spot! The chicken was perfectly seasoned and juicy, that left me wanting more. Their sides were just as impressive--flavorful, fresh, and paired so well with the main dish. The cucumber salad is my favorite side to go with. The drink selection was great too, with options that complemented the meal perfectly. The service is great. Very friendly staff. They've got an outdoor patio and plenty of sitting inside of the restaurant. A fantastic place for a satisfying and flavorful meal!

This place is amazing, my wife and I have been coming for years! The chicken dinner for two is a two course meal at a reasonable price.

A little overpriced for a piece of chicken and one side. The chicken was great, but the sides need some serious work.

The classic was nice, the slaw gave it a nice flavor. For some reason though, the coleslaw by itself was not that spectacular. The 303 was not too spicy. It could have used a little extra heat. The fries were the star unfortunately. We wanted more but knew better not to order more. The food arrived hot and seemed fresh. Have I had better chicken sandwiches? Absolutely. Have I had worse - sure. They hit the spot but just barely unfortunately.

I ordered traditional Buffalo and BBQ wings. This is the first place I have been where you could specify the cut of chicken you wanted. It's an order at the counter and pick up at the counter, kind of spot, so we chose a table near the windows. We opted for an order of 10 wings (half dry rub and half medium buffalo) and the 2 small sandwich meal - with fries. It took about 10 minutes for our order to be ready before we dug in. The sandwiches featured crisp slaw + chicken tenders (which we ordered medium) on a fresh bun. While the flavor was decent (and not too hot) the bun fell apart upon first bite. bummer. The chicken was breaded nicely, juicy with good flavor and the fries were delicious. I'm a sucker for wings but was disappointed in the dryness of the chicken. They tasted pre-fried and like they were sitting before being drenched in sauce - which made them a little meh, for me. I wouldn't go out of my way to return here again, but it sufficed the needs for lunch.
