Meh...the rice was pretty bland, the veggies a little soggy, the website is not great...but their ability to manage allergies is excellent!

I had the bibimbap, which is a korean mixed rice type of dish. You pick a base (white rice, brown rice or sweet potato noodles). Then you pick your protein, vegetables & sauces. I got white rice, spicy chicken, all the veggies & all the sauces. I added a fried egg...cause I'm fancy, haha. I also chose to have it in a stone bowl, which keeps the food hot & makes the rice crispy (extra cost). It came out fresh, sizzling & delicious. Definitely reccomend. Tiny hole in the wall right at the top of the Summit in Worcester. I get take-out at this restaurant at least twice a week because I work right around the corner. The girls that work there are super friendly and remembered my name within 2 or 3 times of me coming in. Whenever you leave the joint, the way they say goodbye is "see you tomorrow".. because they just KNOW you'll be back. The combination of everything was delightful and even though the dish was predominantly vegetables with spicy chicken on the side, it was definitely filing. Was looking for a new place to order out from and stumbled across choose and mix and was pleasantly surprised by the quickness of our order and the quality of food. We have been back 4 times since our first order and each time has been great. My wife has ordered the same thing each time and it's been great and I have tried the bulgogi twice, the pork and the short rib and have enjoyed each greatly. We also have liked the dumplings and boneless tenders. We would highly recommend giving this place a try and will be back again soon! Had a few past pleasant experiences here. Unfortunately, they blew it this time! I ordered a Bibimbap bowl & chicken tenders to go. When I got home, I discovered the tenders were badly overcooked & too hard to chew. I immediately called to complain and was told they always come out the same and I had complained about them in the past (I didn't) and there would be no compensation. Honestly, the Bibimbap wasn't so good either. It was near closing time which may have been a factor, but that's no excuse for the attitude. A couple of weeks ago, I finally decided to try this restaurant and I am sorry that I hadn't gone in here before. I love all types of Asian foods and this one was probably the last one that I had to try. I have had Kimchi before (I actually have a jar in the refrigerator), this is a staple, not a meal. I had the lunch special, which consists of a cup of Miso Soup, which was delicious, a bowl of Bibimbap (simply amazing) and a beverage. I chose to have the Spicy Chicken as my protein, along with white rice, red cabbage, bean sprouts, mushrooms and egg strips. I also had them add a fried egg on top. For a sauce, I chose the Soy lemon sauce. Delicious. I also added their spicy gochujang pepper sauce to it. I had decided to get it all in their hot stone bowl. Take my word for this, do not even think of touching the bowl. It was still just as hot when I finished my meal. One thing that was great was the bowl made the rice that was touching it, crispy and crunchy. WOW. While the storefront looked unimposing, the food that this restaurant puts out is absolutely amazing. They don't have a super sized menu, but this isn't one of the Korean restaurants that also has live seafood (which I would really love to try), or the facilities to self cook at your table. I will definitely be going back and getting more as it is very delicious food and the staff was amazing. read more

I had high expectations after seeing all these great reviews in Yelp, it almost convinced me that this was going to be the new Korean joint for me, but this place did not hit the spot. I mean, it complete missed the target! Lackluster is the term to sum up my experience. The super friendly & enthusiastic lady, who I believe to be Regina based on the all the reviews, recognized that we were first-timers at this place, and had her employee walk us through the menu. I was surprised to see the beef they used in bibimbap was ground beef, and was actually having second thoughts because that's not what I'm used to, but went with it anyway in their hot stone bowl of course. Truly am disappointed, for many reasons: there was so much rice, meat portion was so small, very skimpy on the veggies even though I got it fully loaded, was quite bland and had to keep adding gochujang even though that wasn't doing much for seasoning, was the egg even fried?? It had no signs of frying involved it was just an egg cooked by the steam. The miso soup serving was the smallest I've ever seen, and the kimchi was unpleasant. I had to have pickled daikon with each spoonful of bibimbap to add a boost of flavor and although I finished everything, I was unsatisfied. Oh! I even forgot to mention about the fried dumplings just like they forgot about mine! It seemed like they forgot to put the order in, because it was taking way longer than I anticipated and it turns out "there was confusion on the tickets, sorry". The pork dumplings, although perfectly fried, weren't anything special, they're forgettable and actually are not made in-house. "See you tomorrow!" Actually... I don't know if you'll ever see me again! The restroom was very pristine though. Regina is so welcoming, I almost feel bad writing this review, the food isn't terrible but I was simply not a fan. Excellent food! We had the pork steamed dumplings which were very good and the sauce was excellent. I got the chicken hibachi without the veggies so they gave me extra rice! Made it look like I had no chicken! I also got a large yummy sauce! So worth it! Delicious! My bf got the bibimbap bowl and he thought it was very good. He got his with spicy chicken, sweet potato noodles, fried egg, all the vegetables, soy lemon sauce, and an extra sauce - hot chili paste! Bibimbap (No Protein / Tofu / Chicken / Spicy Chicken / Ground Beef) A rice bowl with vegetables and protein. Make your own bowl. Choose your base, choose your vegetables as many as you want, choose one protein, and choose your sauce. (Vegan, Vegetarian, and Gluten Free options are available) I get the one with the shredded chicken. My coworker recommended this so we usually order takeout and parking is easy. The "Subway" kind of structure is really interesting for bibimbap. The choices are a mix of really traditional and some mix of things you wouldn't find in a bibimbap (e.g. Japchae). The staff's super friendly. They're so cute as you're leaving they'll say "see you tomorrow!" Good stuff. read more

I gave this place 3 stars because the food is terrific. But, that's the best thing about Choose and Mix. The ambience in entirely lacking. It's really a luncheonette with formica tables, harsh lighting. Not a "dining" spot at all. Just a place to fill your tummy with excellent Korean inspired food. To be honest, I'd rather spend more and go to simjiang for Korean-ish food and a fun hip ambiance or travel to Westborough Center for really amazing and authentic food at a local hole in the wall, but a cozy hole in the wall. Sadly, I miss Providence with it's plethora of excellent Korean spots. Had high hopes for this place given the high reviews. We got take-out as dine in was not available. I've had bibimbap before and it is not this! Both the beef and spicy chicken bibimbap were disappointing. Rice was hard, veggies & meat were flavorless despite the sauce. Also visually unappetizing given that they mix everything together before packaging. Maybe this would have been different had it been served on stone pot. My boyfriend & I decided to dine-in, so we could have our bibimbap in the hot stone bowl (he had tofu & I went w/ beef). While we were there, we noticed everyone dining or picking up orders, were regulars (bc the girls behind the counter would greet them by name)! Really great little place-- I thought the food was great. I don't opt for the nuclear powered stone bowl and the food is hot enough without it. They have a limited menu which I think is a plus-- I don't need to pour through the Encyclopedia sized menus some places have-- and yet I've found several things to try and much to like. The place itself is very clean and the staff is very friendly-- nice little quick lunch or dinner spot but you aren't impressing a first date here so maybe save it for a few months in. read more

I co-ordinate a mother's group and we voted to try Choose & Mix for a night out. I contacted the restaurant to let them know we were coming and they were friendly and professional. Their service was great and they accommodated our group in every way. Thank you for making our night out so relaxing. The restaurant was incredibly clean. We were there for awhile chatting and I noticed that every customer was treated really well. On to the food, I got the Bibimbap in a hot stone bowl. I had rice, spicy chicken, and quite a few of the vegetables with the lemon soy sauce. It was great. I could probably eat it every day if I lived closer. I also had fried shrimp dumplings which came with a flavorful dipping sauce. Everything was hot and fresh. I had wanted to try Bibimbap forever and I left happy and full. We were traveling from NY to boston at the time and we craved some korean food. After a long search we found that this place were not to far from thw place we stayed. We hit the road and had some suprisingly good dishes. From the outside the place is like a regular takeout spot but I was suprised when my order came. The food is made fresh, Ingredients are fresh and tasty. You know when it comes to some old vegs the taste are off, but not with this place. We were so happy when we found out about the spot but we left even happier. If you are a hater dont do it to this place, be grateful for this place in existence because other wise your lunch will be boring.
