Great little spot for a quick lunch. I was hesitant at first, but we were both very happy overall. While Bibimbap is conceptually a pretty simple dish, it's also surprisingly different from place to place. This spot does it quite well, but I would recommend the following... (1) Unless you like mild flavors, opt for a stronger sauce, or get the hot paste on the side. Lemon soy with hot paste and just hot paste were both good, (2) pick lots of veggies, there's no limit on how many, (3) get the fried egg, thd runny yolk mixes in so nice, and (4) eat in, and get the stone bowl (for adults). It keeps it hot the whole time, allowing you to keep adding sauce if you wish, and makes the rice so nice and crunchy along the edges. Get the stone bowl. Get the stone bowl. ...get the stone bowl. Probably the best choice for Korean Cuisine in Worcester! Hands down! Tried it for the first time with a friend and I ended up ordering the stone bowl with the sweet potato noodles, Chicken, Onion and red pepper with teriyaki sauce. My friend had tofu, sweet potato noodles and loaded it with veggies. She ended up having the sesame oil on top but it didn't add any flavor to her bowl. You can tell. You can tell when you walk in and get a warm genuine smile and a "welcome" that really means "We're glad to see you, thank you for your business". You can tell by the patient customer service given to those who need help ordering. You can tell by the samples of sauces freely given to help undecided patrons decide. You can tell by all of the above, that this place is stellar, that the food is gonnna be great, and that the management and workers really want to please you. We had a small wait ahead of us, but the line moved quickly -really not too different from a typical per person wait at Subway. The young girl making the bibimbap bowls was very friendly and had a great personality. It seemed as though a lot of the patrons were here for the first time, so he had a lot of explaining to do about how things worked, and we saw her doling out a lot of small samples of the finishing sauces. We ordered three bowls of bibimbap, an order of steamed shrimp dumplings, spicy pork, galbi, and an order of the plain crispy chicken wings. The bowls come with a small cup of miso soup, which was REALLY good. The dumplings were outstanding. But oh my word, were the chicken wings stellar. Crispy. Juicy. Flavorful. Meaty. Among the best I've had in a real long time. No exaggeration guys, they were excellent. We ordered them plain & crispy, and they also have sweet, mild hot, and hot. My spicy chicken bibimbap was ordered with brown rice and everything except egg. I had the hot paste with soy lemon finish. Man oh man, was this great. Seriously great -flavorful, great meat to veggie to rice proportion (plenty of meat). So when I look at the wonderful customer service, the friendly management and employees, the really good value, and the delicious food, this place deserve a 5 stars. I'm not even sure where to begin with my review, that's how pleased I was with my first experience at Choose & Mix. You know a place is good when it's only been open a month and already has multiple 5 star reviews on Yelp, right? A friend of mine suggested that my boyfriend and I stop by Choose & Mix the next time we were in the area (we live in Quincy and have family in Worcester), so this evening my friends and I decided to stop in and see what this place was all about. The interior is small (think take-out pizza place size) It has two 4-person tables and bar seating facing the window. The staff that greeted us were simply the most genuinely friendly and helpful that I've ever had the pleasure of interacting with. The young woman explained the menu to us although my boyfriend is Korean and we're pretty comfortable in our knowledge with Korean food. Regardless, their menu is small, but efficient. You can build your own bibimbap, which is a really great concept. You essentially choose your base (rice, or glass noodles), Then choose a protein (chicken, beef, shrimp, tofu etc), then choose which veggies you would like (there's tons, I just said "throw them all in!") and then finally, choose a sauce. I suggest the gochujang/hot paste, although they have quite a few other options that sounded delicious as well. Their menu also offers a variety of different Korean-style meats like Kalbi (Korean ribs) Bulgogi (marinated beef with onion and carrot), chicken wings and boneless friend chicken, as well as dumplings. They have a small selection of Korean banchan (side dishes) as well as miso soup. We ordered: Spicy Chicken bibimbap with white rice, all the veggies and hot paste. DO NOT skip the stone bowl. It's $1 more, but you get a fried egg as well and let me tell you, the stone bowl comes out sizzling hot and all the rice at the bottom gets crunchy and delicious...this is just the best way to enjoy bibimbap. It was piping hot, fresh and delicious. My boyfriend and split this and still couldn't finish it on our own. My friends ordered the bulgogi and the boneless fried chicken. Both were outstanding. I make my own bulgogi at home and this was really authentic tasting My boyfriend said it tasted just like his moms recipe. Sweet and savory, just like it should be. My friend said the fried chicken was some of the best he's ever had. The Pork dumplings (fried) were also delicious and large! The side dishes were clearly fresh and homemade. Even though my boyfriend is Korean we definitely are too lazy to make our own Kimchi, but you can definitely tell the difference between fresh, homemade Kimchi and store-bought. They also offered seaweed salad drizzled with sesame oil and I believe cubed radish and carrots in a sweet, tangy marinade. All three were great. They come in tiny solo cups, and as someone who's used to shoveling a pound of kimchi in my face during daily meals I was hoping for slightly larger portions. Having said that, Korean side dishes should be small bites that add to your meal, so in the end the small portions didn't take away from the experience. Overall: Absolutely delicious, fresh and AUTHENTIC Korean food. The food was ready quickly, reasonably priced with very large, satisfying portions. The restaurant is bright and clean, the staff is knowledgeable, helpful and incredibly friendly. My boyfriend said the food reminded him of eating his mom's home cooking, and that is a huge compliment coming from him! This is going to be a regular stop for us when we are in Worcester. read more

This place is awesome. They are super friendly and greet you at the door. Then they give you a thorough explanation of the menu and how to order if you are here for the first time. I ordered the Bi Bim Bap which is $9.49. You pick a base (brown/white rice) or sweet potato noodles. Then you pick what veggies you want on it. I had everything put on it. Why not. Then you pick a sauce and they allow you to try them first. They suggested to mix n match. The food was fantastic and healthy. I highly recommend to try it out. It's a small place with only a few tables if you want to sit down and eat. It was worth the 15 minute drive. It's a little bit hard to find but it's located in a plaza. You get to customize your own bowl of bibimbap and it came with little side dishes including kimchi, seaweed salad or potatoes. For carbs you can choose from: white rice, brown rice or sweet potato noodles (which are really delicious.) We were able to try them before deciding to get them for the bowl! This place is great! Similar to subway, you are able to build your own bowl with your own choices of noodles or rice, vegetables, protein and sauces. Seeing that it was my first time visiting, I asked for help along the way. The lady working at the counter was incredible and SO friendly. She took the time to explain everything to me and checked in afterwards to make sure I liked my selection. She deserves more than 5 stars herself. I ended up with sweet potato noodles, all of the vegetables, tofu and a mix of the teriyaki, sesame and hot sauces. It was incredible! The miso soup that came with the meal was great as well. The restaurant serves mainly bibimbap, which you can customize to your liking, bulgogi and also a lot of side items including fried chicken, wontons and soup. Simple setting and menu but so delicious. Definitely a great asian comfort food. Tip: Though chicken wings come out piping hot and bursting with saucy flavorful and crunchy goodness, ask for sauce on the side ( if you choose to have sweet or spicy favored). Incredibly helpful, perky and efficient, the staff at Choose & Mix In addition while Choose & Mix is in the small Bennie's plaza, the interior has been renovated in to an incredibly and modern space, which makes dining in just as enjoyable as taking out. My only advice is to eat inside and get the hot stone bowl with your bibimbap. The dining area is a bit small but is just fine and there's always seating available every time I go.. my go to is the beef/brown rice/all veg's/sesame oil and hot paste. It's the bomb.. We decided to hit his place up after seeing the great reviews on Yelp, well I'm glad we did. The staff were incredibly friendly and eager to introduce their concept. The ingredients were very fresh and homemade except for the seaweed salad but no one makes that haha. The pickled daikon and kimchi taste amazing. The Bi Bim Bap was delicious and you can get the option of getting it in a hot stone bowl, so worth it. The fried beef dumplings had a crispy exterior with a soft inside, incredible filling and sauce. The authentic Korean flavor is out of this world. I highly recommend this place, so good! read more

We didn't know what sauce to get so the staff member gave us samples of them all. The staff were more than willing to make sure we were taken care of and enjoyed our experience. The staff is super helpful and explained the menu very thoroughly. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. The person behind the counter asked if we had been there before and, when we said that we hadn't, began explaining how to order. Basically, you choose your starch, your protein, and your veggies. At the end you choose your sauce. They also give you the option of having your food served in a stone bowl, which continues to warm your rice as you eat, and is stopped with an egg. I didn't opt for the stone bowl, but I enjoyed my meal nonetheless. I could have easily made two meals out of it, especially because the lunch special includes miso soup and a beverage. I liked my meal a lot, but by the end I was kind of bored of the flavor. That's on me, though, for the protein/sauce combo I created for myself. Disappointing - two stars Ordered pork fried dumplings and two bibimbap - one with shrimp & teriyaki, and one with beef & soy and lemon. Firstly didn't get the fried dumplings and didn't realize until we were home. Second, everything was just bland. Lacked flavor. Teriyaki was sickly sweet. Beef was ok and shrimp were meh. Overall not sure I'll be back. Disappointing to see a new place in the neighborhood and then for it to be blah.
