Wow-this was my second time going here and I will definitely be back as often as possible, I keep forgetting to go. We were able to talk to one of the owners-Johnny and he could not have been more friendly and helpful. He told us about their business model, they make all their chicken and meats fresh each day and all ingredients are not used the following day to ensure maximum freshness. The salads are tasty and very filling-you can tell all the ingredients are extremely fresh as are the dressings which are all handmade. They are open until 830P as well during the week and on Saturday which is super helpful to me as I often work late and want a salad for dinner--all the other local shops close early. I had the Southwest Chicken Bowl Salad and it was amazing-all the ingredients I want in a salad and worked perfectly together. My friend made multiple modifications to her salad and they did not charge extra for all the changes and additional ingredients she added which was so kind. Johnny also gave us a sample of one of the bases for Acai bowls they make and it was delicious. I have been to the other salad locations in White Plains and this one is by FAR the best--better than Chop and Go, much better salad than the Iron Tomato for a better price too. The salad was huge and filling, without costing a ton--I think with tax the entire salad came to less than $15 and it was really enough for two meals. Take the time to support this local salad shop--it is worth the effort to drive perhaps a tiny big farther outside of downtown White Plains to get the fresh salad here. Many people no the chain Chopt--which is good but also is inferior to this shop in my opinion. They also offer some outdoor seating which is nice and the area is a bit quieter than on the downtown part of Mamaroneck Avenue. You can tell they truly care about their customers and want people to leave the shop feeling happy and we sure did! Chop It Up (on Mamaroneck Ave in white plains across from Ice cream social) did a great job making sure my daughter's made to order freshly chopped salad was safe for her (she has celiac)! Every topping has its own scooper so there is no cross contamination. Their gloves are changed after each customer and they cleaned the mixing bowl and chopper again right in front of us to make doubly sure they were clean. Also the owner/manager came out to show us that the quinoa is Gluten Free and was very clear about which dressings are GF. Will definitely make this our go to place for food on the go.
