My family and I went to Anasa for a special Celebration Dinner. It was wonderful!! Stevia/owner was very attentive and engaging. We split several appetizers and one was better than the other. For dinner, I had the whole fish which was delicious! The others had various specials. The Filet Mignon was beautifully presented and was tender and perfectly cooked as were the Lamb Chops. The Pastitsio and Moussaka were also excellent! We split a few of the different desserts and they were all scrumptious and quite decadent . (Unfortunately, there were no leftovers for doggie bags)! All of the food portions were plentiful and everything was amazing. The food was absolutely superb! I ordered lunch from work for the residents on my last day of service. No one could decide what they wanted so I took one for the team and fought my baseline indecisiveness. I hadn't had mediterranean in a while and I'm not head over heels for the place near me so I wanted to try something new. This place seemed decent enough. I ordered a greek salad and hummus with pita. There were varying gyros, another greek salad with chicken, some platters including the falafel platter that GF orderd. My salad was wonderful. The ingredients were fresh and that dressing was lovely. It was a salad I actually enjoyed instead of regretting the entire time I glared at my coworkers who ordered real shit with envy. The hummus was also very creamy, authentic hummus with a slightly different taste than I am used to but head and shoulders above any store bought bullshit. Everyone else said good shit about their food. I tried one of GF's falafel from her platter and it was really good. My only complaint is for $24 or whatever it is, i would expect more than a few falafel balls and one side. Kinda a rip off. But everything tasted really, really good. read more

Pretty good Greek food in White Plains. We ate here today for lunch. A friend of ours sent us the link for this place and we decided to check it out today. The ambience is simple, with plenty of references to Greece and Greek culture along the walls. There was a speaker connected to a Greek radio station blaring near our table. The service was attentive and reliable. We ordered an assortment of mezes. We ordered the octopus, the Greek salad, the shrimp saganaki, the spanakopita, and the pita. Everything was very good, though still not as good as some of our favorite places in Astoria. I normally order the "cold dip sampler" at Greek restaurants, but chose not to today due to the lack of taramosalata (the caviar dip) on the menu. This beautiful little Greek spot used to be Nikko's...its the same family owned Restaurant and if anything, its better then I remember. They decor is simple yet beautiful the front patio is lovely. The food is absolutely delicious, classic Greek and so fresh. Our server Javier was awesome and a wonderful representative of this establishment. Of course Central Ave is a Mecca of fantastic eating in Westchester County..and this place is literally one of the first restaurants at the start of North Central Park Ave...what a great way to start the your culinary tour. This restaurant is fantastic! Six of us came here on a Tuesday evening to celebrate a birthday. The restaurant decorations on the inside made it feel like we were transported to a greek island! The service was spectacular, both the waitress and the owner were so incredibly kind and attentive, stopping by to recommend dishes and to make sure everything was great- which it was, the food was delicious! We had the Feta saganaki to share, the spinach pies to share, then we tried the beef/lamb gyro, the chicken skewers, the moussaka, and the souvlaki. This is one of those reviews where I find myself wanting to rave about the service just as much as I want to rave about the food. I took a friend who'd never had Greek food before and this place was authentic, tasty, fun, and great value. With Greek family I've been spoiled with really authentic food for decades. I was shocked when a friend said she'd never had it so I needed to find a place that would really showcase it. We had a bunch of appetizers and they were all terrific as a showcase for Greek food. Saganaki, multiple dips/spreads tzatziki, potato/garlic, eggplant all exceptional in their taste, dolmathes, falafel & hummus, and their spanikopita was fresh and fantastic. On a Monday night we had three kind, friendly super efficient staff waiting on us--unparalleled service. The resto is cute inside and out with large outdoor seating area. Four of us went on a Saturday night. We arrived abandoned were seated right away as we had a reservation. The place was crowded. We received menus but then waited about 20 minutes or so till they took our order. Too long. We ordered appetizers which came with pita. I'm extremely particular about pita as it's a signature component of Middle Eastern food. Unfortunately, it was soft as if it had been microwaved. Dinner eventually came out and the other three seemed to be pleased, but I wasn't so keen on my fish. It tasted salty. I came here to pick up a take out order because I was really in the mood for a gyro (pronounce how you want to). The order was ready within 15 minutes of the phone call during lunch hour. I was quite impressed with Anasa after having visited only once before during the week they first opened their doors. At that time, the restaurant didn't really have it together, and we simply never were motivated to try it again. I'm glad I overcame my initial impressions. This evening's weeknight dinner for two was quite impressive. I had the lamb souvlaki and my friend enjoyed a greek salad with grilled chicken. We shared spanikopita. All three dishes were very tasty. The spanikopita was crispy and buttery without being dry, and my lamb was beautifully marinated and perfectly cooked. My friend said her salad was fresh and that the chicken was tender. She had a Greek beer and I enjoyed a Greek red wine, which the server accurately recommended as a good pairing with my lamb. Anasa has many more interesting dishes on the menu, for sure. However, for a casual, low-key midweek meal out, the basics were what we were looking for. Anasa is brightly lit, and with the tile floor, I can see it getting loud on a weekend night when the restaurant is full. For a 7:30pm arrival on a Tuesday, we were surprised that about half the tables were filled. Our server was celebrating his second day on the job, and he did an excellent job. Attentive and super friendly. The bill came to $48 pp with gratuity. Excellent cost-to-value. We'll be back. read more

My big fat Greek dinner, OPA. We had a really good meal while dining outdoors on their patio. A gorgeous spring night sipping Greek wine and eating. We ordered appetizers and main meals at the same time while instructing our very pleasant waiter to not bring out the food at the same time. He promised that wouldn't happen and it did not. I usually like to order an appetizer and then wait to put in the dinner order, but it wasn't necessary here. The Hummus was creamy and tasty served with a lot of pita bread points. I wanted to try Saganaki as I've never had it. They had 3 different Saganaki's. The first choice was the Greek cheese kefalograviera which I've never eaten so that was more interesting than the Feta which I've had often. The Ketalograviera was fried, and the feta pan-fried with a drizzle of honey and sesame seeds. I wanted the honey so I asked if they could do that with our choice? Our waiter replied that the honey came on the Feta. I asked if we could have it on the ketalograviera and he said yes. So, accommodating. What disappointed me though was that the cheese was just plated. A square of cheese with honey on top. No flame, no fanfare, I thought that is how saganaki is served? I really wanted to see it sizzling. Besides being an Instagrammable moment it would have made the cheese gooier which I would have preferred. It was tasty, but not what I expected. For entrees I ate the pork souvlaki platter. Two nice sized moist wood skewered pork kebobs with tzatziki sauce on the side and lemon potatoes. We asked for more pita points which the waiter was happy to bring more out. You can order broccoli, rice, lemon potatoes or fries as a side dish. The lemon potatoes weren't roasted, there was no char or crispness to them nor were they lemony tasting. They were also a bit hard, not good in my opinion. My daughter ordered the beef-lamb gyro platter. The meat was so flavorful and tender. She also had the lemon potatoes and tzatziki sauce on the side. For dessert we shared the Loukoumades which are dense small fried dough balls with honey and walnuts. They were good. We appreciated the staff refilling our water, busing the tables and checking on us throughout our dining experience. I would return to try other Greek dishes and sit outside. They were doing a bustling business so both indoor and outdoor areas were fairly full by dinner hour. The indoor were very nice but when I can dine outdoors that is my preference. read more

I love Greek cuisine when it's delicious. In this bracket, falls my only and truly favorite, Taverna Kyclades in QNS (and NYC) because they offer top-of-the-line seafood and it always slaps. So when hubs and I heard about Anasa on Central Avenue in White Plains, we had to come and try them for Sunday dinner. If it matters, long-time Nikos held this same spot until their closing in Dec'22. I'm picky with Greek food- especially their seafood+ seasonings. Since seafood is my only source of (meat) protein, it's gotta be tasty. Anasa, was that. Definitely not Taverna Kyclades level- but for the area, food was good. Anasa is fairly new since Feb '23 and there were minor setbacks. For instance- hubs and I loved the tenderness in the grilled octopus we ordered- but we weren't particularly fond of all the red vinegar that was almost swimming on the plate. Or that our server was attentive- but a bit choppy, forgetful and running back to the kitchen to 'double-check'. Stevia- the owner made sure her restaurant was running smoothly as she treated us as if we're part of the family. Hubs' lamb gyro made the cut for its good taste and my requested rare tuna medallions were melt-in-the-mouth fantastic. Our Greek salad with a considerable amount of diced, chunky feta in it was refreshing. As if feta wasn't enough, we ordered a side dish of it that had a nice olive oil drizzle. Anasa didn't hold back when it came to flavor on a Sunday in March when we came- plus they've got their hospitality down to a tee. Yamas- To many more years to come! read more

We stopped here for lunch one afternoon and it was amazing! The inside is so nice, the staff was so friendly, and the food was delicious! We ordered the hummus, beef/lamb gyro platter with a side of fries and side of rice, and the loukoumades and Greek coffee for dessert. I'm just realizing we were probably supposed to get pita with our platter and didn't so I'm a little sad about that now... Everything was so good though! Who doesn't love a good bread, fries, and rice though! I'd definitely recommend it and I will be back! Also please note there is a small parking lot nearby but it is not for these customers :( so you'll need to use the meters for parking! TLDR: Pros: Great service and execution. Cons: Limited menu, pricey special. From the point of view of service this is a definite upgrade on Niko's, which formerly occupied this space. We received a friendly greeting from the host and had no problem getting a two-top for an early-ish Saturday dinner-- they advised they do not take reservations for two. We ordered wine - they do not seem to have cocktails yet -- while we perused the menu. The dishes offered are pretty standard - where they will distinguish themselves is execution. Apps are generously portioned, there were three good sized triangles of spanokopita in the order, and the spicy feta meze was plentiful. If you are a party of three two apps should suffice. I took half the feta home where it livened up a number of meals. Mains were not as generous. La Portena's tuna ($27) was a decent portion, perfectly medium with a hint of pink, with nicely prepared broccoli and spinach on the side. My swordfish (a special) was disappointingly small at $39, but it was nicely prepared, cooked through but still moist. The fries that accompanied it were excellent, and there was also that excellent spinach. We had room for desert, and enjoyed the Portalokopia (orange cake), which I heartily recommend. What they could use is a little bit more variety than the typical Westchester Greek menu. Still, we'll be back, as this is closer to home with more ambiance than Lefteris. read more

There are not many Greek choices in the Westchester area. So when I saw the good reviews for Anasa I figured we would give it a try. It's a cute little place that definitely screams Greek restaurant. The food - the Greek Salad was very good, nice and fresh and good flavor. The grilled octopus appetizer had very good flavor but the octopus was a little chewy. The spinach and cheese phyllo dough app was good. Seemed similar to spanakopita but was called just spinach pie. For mains we had Tuna, again good flavor, ordered rare came medium. Grilled shrimp was probably the best dish we had. Lamb souvlaki platter, meat was tender. The sides of lemon potatoes were good but needed more lemon flavor and seasoning. I didn't have the rice but others said it was good. Our waitress was great, very attentive and on point regarding food allergies. (I can't have gluten) So we felt confident that we were in good hands in that regard. If you can sit outside as they have nice tables in front of the restaurant that are nicely spaced. The inside tables are nicely spaced as well but everything in the restaurant is a hard surface and so even with a half full restaurant it was pretty loud. I would go back and try it again. read more

Came here with my hubby for date night. This restaurant DEFINITELY lives up to the hype. Not only was the food amazing, but the service was phenomenal. Our waiter Javier, was awesome and VERY accommodating which I appreciate, especially because we were there on a Saturday evening and it was a full house.
