CHOP5 was my second choice after "Fat Shack" turned out to open at 3p during the week (Dumb). And frankly, it's a complete opposite which offers healthy salads and bowls in comparison to whatever Fat Shack offers. I wanted to Build My Own Bowl, but their pricing structure seemed way off for that vs a pre-made bowl. I chose the Mexican Bowl and since I don't really like corn in my food (I like it on it's own, but keep it OUT of my other food, I'm talking to you horrible KFC Bowl), they were able to switch it out for black olives (which I love and should be available on everything). It made for an excellent bowl (with brown rice too). Back to their pricing, I think this bowl was 10.99 which was pretty good (although chipotle still kicks its ass for 3+ cheaper). The Mexican bowl included chicken which is a $3 upcharge for a BYO bowl (which starts at $9.29). If I built this bowl on my own, it would definitely cost more which doesn't make sense. It could use a little more simplification. Their drink selection was also on the healthy side so I skipped it and just got water. It's probably a good thing as I saved a bit of money. I don't know if I'd come back or not. Dollar for Dollar, I can get essentially the same thing at Chipotle (without olives though... shame) for a LOT cheaper. And paying over 10 bucks for a salad seems like a rip off too for a counter service restaurant. I feel I can get a higher quality salad at a sit-down restaurant for about the same price. But it was tasty and relatively healthy which is always a bonus. read more

I was surprised at how good this salad despite it looking a little boring. They have a lot of options and the service is pretty quick. I had only added 4 toppings since that's all it came with the but they don't disappoint! The dressings have so much flavor and really add so much to the salad. I think more toppings would've definitely added a lot, especially since a lot of places,like cava or chipotle, will offer most toppings included in the price. It's tucked away In the corner of the plaza so it's a little hidden. Only downside is they're a little pricey. read more

First review of 2022!! Woohoo!! I was out running errands and needed a pitstop for lunch. I was feeling good and wanting something healthy so I decided I'd try the new CHOP5 near UCF. It's a pretty large location in the same plaza as Sus-HI Eatstation and Valkyrie Donuts. There used to be a Flippers Pizza in this corner spot before CHOP5. My first impression was they had a lot of outdoor seating with umbrellas and there were a couple occupied tables outside. Inside was empty aside from the staff busy at work prepping food. I was greeted at the counter and warned her it was my first time so I wasn't sure what I wanted, but as soon and I finished that sentence I saw a sign for their seasonal special which was the butternut squash and I didn't have to look any further than that. I'm a sucker for gourds, what can I say. My bowl was DELICIOUS!! I had a water with it, but they had a nice assortment of juices and lemonades in addition to the soft drinks. The portion size was not huge, but just enough for me to finish the whole thing without feeling stuffed or like I'd overeaten. The squash was delicious with the quinoa, kale, cranberries, creamy avocado (a half an avocado, pretty large serving of that IMO) and the the green sauce overtop added a great acidic tang that set the whole thing off. I will 100% be back and I hope this place sticks around longer than its predecessor because it's always nice to know there is a place you can get a quick AND healthy bite when you're out and about. I should also mention how many vegan and vegetarian options there were! Extra bonus points for that. Definitely check them out when you're in the area. Went with a work group to lunch today and ordered an Asian Chop with chicken. This is the only salad i've ever ordered here because it's usually been pretty good. . . up until now. Unfortunately, it didn't happen this way. When they made the salad all was going well until they grabbed the chicken to put on the salad and it looked almost reddish/orange - like it was HEAVILY seasoned - not the regular rotisserie chicken i'm used to. I thought maybe it was just 'me' and the lighting, but when i started eating it I realized it was NOT the same. Either they've changed their 'rotisserie' chicken and it's not good OR they chose the wrong chicken. The flavors of the salad and chicken did not mesh well at all to the point i barely touched it. I had heard about this place and wanted to check it out since "good" salad options seem more limited these days. Great concept - Sort of the build your own salad concept that reminded me of a Subway or Blaze Pizza. They have preselected salads that you can choose or build your own from the ground up. Staff is super helpful so if you are having them build a salad from the menu they will ask you about each item to be sure you get exactly what you want. Once prepared it gets cut into nice bite sized pieces and you can even have the dressing mixed in so everything is covered. Of course you can get it on the side but they do a great job mixing everything. There are premium ad ins and even some meats like chicken. Hot soup is also an option. The drink station was nice too with a selection of lemonades, Teas and fruit infused drinks. You would think it would not fill you up but each time I find myself too full to try one of their cookies. The salad was overly saturated and I just had to toss it out and leave. Service was ok though and I always tip everywhere I go but this made me reconsider eating here again. We had the pleasure of previewing Chop5 before the grand opening and I'm very excited to say it is exactly what I've been waiting for in this area! When you first enter, you'll notice that the restaurant is bright and open with very cheery and minimalistic design. The staff is vibrant and genuinely excited to be there. They are all very helpful and eager to offer suggestions (speaking of, try the homemade lemonade. It's delicious and light!). We tried the Harvest and the Korean Chicken Chop. The Harvest was a perfect mix of savory and sweet. I recommend adding dried cranberries to it for an added element. The Korean was tangy and very filling. Wanted to try something new and fresh, I just wish I went somewhere else. I was excited to try this place as they have tons of options however when I made my custom bowl and took a bite I was anything but happy. First let me say for 1 bowl and 1 flatbread it was $30 which is crazy expensive and even if the food was good I doubt I'd go back just because it's ridiculous. I got the honey chipotle chicken on brown rice with sesame ginger, wasabi crème, and a few veggies. The first thing I notice is all the veggies looked really bad and I don't think they replenish them unless they are gone because no other customers were there and they looked wilted and warm. The rice was chewy and ice cold. The chicken which was not cooked fresh they scooped it out of this huge bowl not on a heater. Its was extremely dry to the point where even water was not helping. I wish we had more fresh food places that actually delivered. This is a nice concept but it's too expensive for the quality of food. You could make these at home and it would taste better. read more

There are recommended salads you can choose from (I chose the cobb), bowls (hubs had the spicy chicken teriyaki), and both kids chose to do a custom salad and add their own topings. I asked to add avocado in my salad and they told me the avocados didn't look that great on the day I was there and didn't recommend the add. I really appreciate that they keep the items fresh and didn't try to keep the extra charge so I would still enjoy my salad. I'd say it had a great mix of toppings with the salad blend and my favorite thing is they chop up the salad (thus the name) and it is in more bit size pieces. You can chose to have dressing on the side or mixed in. I chose to mix in since they will ask how much dressing you want so I can keep my dressing amount small, but still have it all mixed it. The kids ate all of their salads and enjoyed being able to pick the different toppings. They had a good time with the options. My husband said his bowl was very flavorful and prepared well. Perhaps we missed the wraps or they're only for catering. It was pretty empty. I had been wanting to try this place for a while. I do love a good salad, but I was disappointed. I ordered straight off the menu. I didn't know until it happened that your salad ingredients all get chopped into small bits and then put in a bowl. Guess that explains the name. I didn't like that. It makes your salad watery and you almost need a spoon to eat it. Your ingredients are so chopped up, they're unidentifiable. Something in my salad was slightly spicy which I dislike. I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed CHOP5. I'm not much of a salad person but since the new year has started I've been trying to eat better (yes that typical "new year new me" bs). From the moment you walk in, you can see that the place is pretty clean and nice on the inside and outside. You start at the end and work your way down the ingredients. It's pretty efficient and easy to see all the toppings. I created my own salad and made it pretty basic but it was still delicious. The quality of everything was great. Quality seems to have gone downhill.. Chicken in my salad was tough, like cooked days ago and just taken out of the fridge. Salad was not very fresh, but maybe it was the chicken. Rag I saw being used for cleaning salad chopping area seemed dirty. And in general food prep area did not seem very clean, like there was dressing all over the place around the dressing bottles. Employees were handling food then going back to the cash register with gloves on and then going straight back to the salad prep with the same gloves to grab the greens with their hands etc. What is the point of gloves if you're then touching everything else. I always get the same exact wrap and they always come in different sizes, usually thin with not much inside (and I pay $12). Yesterday I picked up my same wrap, when I got home I found 3 extremely thin wraps . When I initially ordered my food I was a little skeptical about the portion size but it ended up being such a good amount of food and SO tasty. I was really iffy about coming here because I didn't want ~just a salad~ but hear me out... they make a salad taste so dang good and I have no idea how. I ordered the bbq chicken chop salad and the southwest rice bowl and split them both with my boyfriend because I couldn't get just one thing. Update: their wraps have been significantly smaller but the price still stayed the same. Yes it tastes good, but I should not be paying $14 for a wrap that is not stuffed as it should be. I work over in this area and have for a while. However I have been working at home for an extended time due to covid. So the areas landscape of restaurants has changed. I was excited to see a new healthy option with Chop 5. I ordered a salad to go, without a protein, so just salad mixed with some vegetables and it's way too expensive for what you get. Over $10 for a small salad. They limit ingredients to 4, after that it's $.89 for each additional topping. I might feel different if it was large but I've eaten it and still feel like I need to go eat again. Sadly I won't be going back. There are better more filling options for healthy food over here, like Chipotle, Hummus House, Poke places, Sus-hi, etc. sad but it is what it is. read more

I have been SO EXCITED for Chop5 to open. I grew up eating Saladworks and the area has needed a go to salad place. I always create my own salad, and they offer a plethora of toppings which makes it even better. With both the customers and workers wearing masks and the design of the space, in conjunction with loud music, its difficult to hear while you're going down the line. They also offer a reward program which I finally signed up for after going 3 times in the past month. It's been busy the few times I've been, but I'm glad to see it. We paid $38 dollars for two salads, one rice bowl and one drink. We can easily go to a sit down restaurant and be served for that price. Not sure we will be back. Very disappointed. read more

So, I come to this restaurant frequently, and I typically eat in. The management even knows me by name. They always say "is that enough dressing or do you you want more" , and they put in as much or as little as they want. So I was in a rush, and had to take it to go, so I ask for 4 dressings (those little small containers). I get to the checkout, and I notice, they charged me for extra dressing. I said, what's that, and they said, well you got extra dressing. I said, I've never been charged for extra dressing, they said, well I charged you for one extra dressing. So I thought it myself, I think it's ridiculous when you will put in as much as I want if I ate in the resultant. They said, well I "have to charge you", so I said, well take one out, already not happy, she then says, well I'm still going to charge you because you only get 2. I said, I come here frequently, and you want to Nickel and Dime me, even when I say take one out? I said take another one out. She did, rang me up, and then proceeded to throw away the 2 dressings in the garbage. I looked at that and said, okay, you refused to let me have 2 extra dressings because "you have to charge me", but you throw it out? I was so insulted by the lack of customer service or care for the customer. Maybe they think they have plenty of customers because they are a cross fro UCF, well, they took someone, who even wrote a good review previously, and they have told me, I don't care about you as a customer. So, I will not be frequenting this establishment any time soon, and I will take every opportunity to let people know that, they don't care about their customers, and will dismiss you, all over a dressings they tossed in the garbage. When she threw the dressings in the garbage and didn't put it back, she said to me (non verbally), I'm throwing you in the garbage. Things cost so much these days, for 49 cents, they upset a "former" regular customer. Good luck with tossing customers in the garbage.
