    Pastrami with fries and slaw

A few of the guys decided to try this place out for lunch after hearing mixed reviews. We made it in around lunch and the place was pretty slow. I tried the pastrami sandwhich and it was amazing. The mustard definitely makes the meal so ask for some extra on the side. I will definitely come back!

Chophouse 285 is a welcome addition to Englewood! It's an upscale space with a warm, contemporary ambiance. We've eaten here twice already and each time, had excellent steaks and service. I recommend the filet mignon, it was tender, moist and cooked to a perfect medium rare. The Brussels are nicely caramelized. Husband says the tator tots are the best he's had. We didn't love the broccolini-it was a little stringy. Our server Mia was excellent.

Chophouse 285 is such a beautiful new spot in Englewood, and it honestly feels like such a refreshing addition to the area. The ambience and decor are stunning! It actually feels like somewhere you'd go for a special occasion or just a night to get dressed up and enjoy a really good steak and something a little more elevated than the typical fried food or burgers in town. Don't get me wrong, I love my favorite beach town and local dives/happy hours, but this is such a nice change! We started with the shrimp ceviche and it was so good, fresh with a little sweetness and perfectly citrusy. We also tried the Huckleberry burger, the filet and lobster tail special, and the pistachio-crusted sea bass, and everything was delicious. The sea bass especially stood out with such a nice texture crust and flavor. The only thing I wish is that they had their homemade pastas with a red based/marinara sauce, but that is a very small thing. I think Chophouse is a great addition into town and I can't wait to come back! Give a try for a special event for sure

Too early to tell. The food was just ok and the service needs a little training. Great bar,

Their single bone in pork chop that they call a double.

The potstickers are a misnomer. They are two heavily breaded "bows" deep fried and probably 80% breading. More importantly, I asked for the double pork chop. What came was a single pork chop (See Photo). when I asked the floor supervisor why it only came with one bone., said she had to talk to the kitchen because she did not know. She came back and told me the kitchen said that's how they cut the double pork chop I'm all my years of being in the restaurant business I've never seen a single bone in called a double pork. They either need to change how they cut the pork chops or change the description. I realize if they just opened up five weeks ago and there's still a lot of service training needed. One last note. My wife wanted a dinner salad plate that all restaurants have as a starter. Not here. They only offer a large full meal salad for over $20. Big mistake.

Interesting atmosphere- upscale vibe. Food had interesting flavors. I think they are still refining their menu since they opened only a few months ago. The service was slow. The Denver steak was tender, the lobster ceviche was a little overcooked and was chewy. The raspberry dessert was the highlight of the meal. The Caesar salad was tasty- recommend ordering. Prices are expensive- be prepared. (Somewhat overpriced)

We were so looking forward to Chophouse 285 opening! Came here tonight after the great Mr Swindle's Peculiarium show on Dearborn, great night! I love the decor, waitress was great. Some things were a bit slow, but it is a week in a the place was packed! I knew that since the Farlows were behind it that it could be special. Dry afraid ribeye, can't beat that! Thanks, and good luck!

We celebrated my birthday at Chophouse 285 this past Saturday, and it was truly an outstanding experience from start to finish. We were seated in a comfortable booth in a great location, which set the tone for a relaxed and enjoyable evening. Our server, Maggie, was hands down the best we've had in Florida. She had such a warm, genuine personality, gave excellent recommendations, and went above and beyond to make the night special. We started with the bread service and the Krab Rangoon (per her recommendation), and both were absolutely delicious. For our meals: * The pork chop with a loaded potato and Brussels sprouts was incredible--the potato especially was phenomenal. * The pistachio-crusted sea bass with mashed potatoes and asparagus was outstanding, topped with a flavorful green sauce that really elevated the dish. * The filet (with added potato tots) was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. To top it all off, since it was my birthday, Maggie surprised me with a slice of cake that was like a mix between key lime pie and pistachio--such a thoughtful gesture and it tasted amazing! We eat out often, and this was truly a phenomenal experience. Don't let any negative reviews discourage you--this place exceeded expectations, and we will absolutely be back very soon.

Did I say the wine was great?!

While we were there, all the workers were respectful, kind, smiling, helpful. We actually stopped in with family members who wanted to stay near us. We popped in and were lucky enough to get a room for the night. We couldn't have been greeted more friendlier by every person that works in this beautiful resort. My family was given a room promptly. What a pleasant surprise that they had a few openings. We were graciously upgraded to a beautiful gulf side suite. For our family it was their first time there. My husband and I have stayed there once before we purchased our home when it was previously owned. The old name was the Wanna B Inn. . But let me say this the upgrades and the amenities that are at theresort are like no other You don't have to worry about renting bikes, kayaks, chairs, boogie boards. They even have a golf area, pickle board, chairs to lounge you name it they have it. If you don't see it ask they will promptly make it happen for you. The Wanna B Inn made us fall in love with Manasota key. The main reason why we bought in Englewood Florida. However, this resort will make us always come back to stay. The Manasota key resort will be out stay-cation for many years to come. Thank you to the staff/owners for working so hard to bring back this magical place we call home. Your hard work devotion and dedication. Will never go unnoticed by our community. You've also made a great impact to our family with your warm smiles and generosity. Visiting for the first time. We will be back real soon! With lots of friends.

The food downstairs is normally pretty good, reasonable pricing, with a decent selection. The reason we are writing is to suggest and encourage some changes to the atmosphere to entice customers to choose this place over the other competing beach restaurant's within the 2 block beach area. What we have noticed is that over time, the attention to the outdoor experience has slipped. It's started to feel somewhat sad and dead. I understand that live music isn't always available, but there is a stereo system that could be playing lively beach type music to help create a vibe/catch people walking by attention and lure them in for a drink and food. The T.V's downstairs are plentiful, but almost always locked on a scenery image, instead of playing sports that would help capture attention and make people want to come on in. We are locals, and really root for all the beach restaurants, and want the Waves/waverly in particular to be super successful, as it was the first place we went to on the beach after moving to Manasota Key, so please consider some small tweaks to make it a place people want to check out and and return to time and time again!

Blood Orange margarita was delish as a cold pint of Jai Lai, my friend had couple of glasses of chilled Lamarca Prosecco. We ordered Blue point oysters , clam chowder and my fav Silver hamachi roll! Everything was fresh and delicious! Great stop today at Waverly/Waves bar after a successful listing appt. Hunter and Kyle took an amazing care of me w drinks ( rum runner , raspberry Collin's, smooth velvety vanilla coffee porter), freshly shucked crisp Chesapeake bay oyster ( could use a tad more of horseradish) and long anticipated soft shell crab sandwich (upgraded to my fav sweet potato fries) , coleslaw could use some love in regards salt/pepper/spices, but everything else was lovely and delicious. Other employees were super friendly and fun to chat with. Live music was a nice touch. I should def return soon to try their sushi . Thank you for a great lunch .
