Walking into Prime is like walking into an old style Chicago restaurant. The entrance is stunning with a wall of wine bottles. The decor is burgundy and black and the lighting is dim. Five stars for the ambiance. Hubby and I sat at the bar which may have been a mistake because the bar staff seemed overworked, tired and bored. Two stars for the service. We started with the Caesar salad. It was crispy, not overdressed and had nice crunchy croutons. The hunks of Parmesan really made this salad. Also the portion was generous. I didn't love the popover. They were cold and didn't add to the meal. I had the prime steak burger which I enjoyed. The exterior had nice grill marks, the meat was tender and cooked to perfect medium as requested. Hubby had the petite filet and pronounced the meat chewy and tough. He didn't even finish it and said it was similar to steak from lower end chain restaurants. Four stars for the food. Will I return. Unlikely. So overall, 3 stars.

Went here for lunch. Almost had the place to ourselves. The server was attentive and the atmosphere was nice. Not too stuffy but a tad bit upscale. The food was really good. Everyone enjoyed their steaks which were cooked just as ordered. I requested a horseradish crust or side that never came out. The only really complaint was a few mosquitoes inside that were tearing us up. I think we're still scratching from all the bites. Either way we will be back again another time. Although might put on some OFF first :).

Came here for dinner with my husband and left so Happy! The restaurant is so spacious and the pricing is great! Best Espresso Martini! The food was delicious. I definitely recommend getting the Australian Wagyu NY Strip and the house salad but with Romaine instead. So many sides to choose from and the portions are impressive. The service was phenomenal. Ariel was so kind and her recommendations were spot on! When you come ask for her!

The food was fresh, prepared perfectly and presented in a fantastic manner. The server, Marlin, was very attentive and was a step ahead. We had the lamb and Prime Rib. Would recommend both.

Very nice restaurant, the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, they can describe the dishes to the T. I had the prime NY Strip with the potato's au gratin, Parmesan chicken and the filet. Everything was delicious and the server was great.

French Onion Soup - solid 4. Tasty and the onions were made to perfection. Could have used some more cheese on top but other than that worth ordering. Pop overs - an interesting and different choice of bread. Not bad but I'd prefer something more traditional. Cinnamon butter was a fun twist. Blackened Prime Rib - Fantastic! 5/5 for sure. The rub is so much better than expected and an explosion of flavor. More on the salty side but, personally, I didn't even need a sauce to dip it in. I'd easily order it again. Fries were also very flavorful. Small filet - dry but because it was ordered too well done. Lobster Mac and Cheese - unfortunately no flavor. Not worth it, especially for an $8 upgrade. Kids meal was phenomenal for what it was! Salmon was really good. Filet mignon - cooked well but unfortunately not much flavor. Just tasted like a sirloin. Dense but not juicy or soft. Overall, it's a hit or miss here. Server was very friendly and attentive, ambiance was just fine (average), but wait for seating and food were extra slow. Given how I lucked out with what I ordered I'd give this place a 4 but if I ordered differently I might have given it just a 3. Next time I'd like to explore the specialty mixed drinks; they look complex.

This is prolly my third trip to this location in a year or so. I decided to go back due to the food and a promotion I recently discovered. I went in Tuesday evening around 6:45 and the place was absolutely packed! Table took about 45 minutes to get seated and the like was out the door. Even though the place was packed the service was as quick as it possibly could be considering. Due to the large crowds the restaurant was a bit noisy with a large party of about 30 seated in the upstairs loft but nothing too annoying. Our server was extremely friendly and the food came out quickly and hot. We decided to partake in the Summer of savings deal for two. Wasn't not disappointed per usual and extremely well priced. If you haven't tried this location you certainly should as the bang for the buck is extremely nice! Enjoy!

After golf we prefer the bar rather than the main dining room. Their bar menu has shrimp tacos, beef Wellington, mussels and ahi tuna and many other upscale meals. We do miss the live music in the lounge. Sigh. Folks if you want a fantastic meal this is where you need to go. The main dining room has a fantastic menu which includes steakhouse fare and one or two seafood dishes. The lounge has an upscale bar menu. All in all I have no idea why it was so easy to get in. I'm guessing that many Floridians were up north for the holidays.

We didn't have a reservation but were seated promptly in about 10 minutes. This must be a popular place for celebrations as we were asked by 3 different people, literally every employee we interacted with, if we were celebrating anything...tonight we were just celebrating dinner! I was prepared to splurge and spend any amount of money tonight. Started with a couple of old fashioned drinks. They had an impressive Bourbon menu, however...They didn't have the Blantons Gold, didn't have the regular Blantons, No Eagle Rare, only had enough Four Roses for one, it was hard to get anything special as the actual selection was limited. We ordered the $22 Bacon wrapped scallop appetizer and were disappointed to only get 3 very small scallops. They were good but we expected more for the price. How do 2 people split 3 tiny scallops? They came on a bed of spinach, which I enjoyed. I ordered the 11oz strip steak with blue cheese crust which was cooked as ordered and tasted fine. Nothing special, but a decent steak. My wife enjoyed the pink snapper however, she ordered rice and it came with potato wedges instead. Our server was very nice and was attentive. However the second round of drinks took too long to come to the table. Like 15 minutes too long. Our meal with appetizers and drinks and tip was around $200. We will definitely come back and I might even try their all you can eat bbq option. Maybe I'll be celebrating something...

June 2, 2026 - Two for Dinner, our 36th wedding anniversary. (we had last been here a year ago for…read morethe same occasion.) First up - PARKING was awesome!!! we parked in their lot and had plenty of choices. yay. Second - When I had made a reservation for our special occasion I was asked "Inside or Outside" which I picked Inside. I was then ASKED "window table?" to which I happily confirmed yes that would be great. I then confirmed to my wife. 6PM, Inside, & Window seating. When I arrived I was quizzed if I had a reservation. Yes. Then I was asked did i want to dine Inside or Outside and I replied I had confirmed an Inside, window reservation. And he brought us to our inside aisle non-window table. When I asked why not a window as I confirmed - I was informed they only give them out when they are available and he can't guarantee it? I then asked "Why do you ask then when the reservation is made?" He just walked away. Probably not a good candidate for a public or customer facing role. As others have stated (and I in my first review) the staff and server experience here is highly variable. 1/10 Third - Our server was excellent and gregarious. we were seated well over 5 minutes until we able to tender a drink order, but then everything went very smoothly. The bus staff seems "nervous" and inexperienced, I had to ask twice for more water. The bread and butter was a little disappointing. one of the rolls was ok, the other either old, stale or did not sustain the heating process very well - inedible. There were two flatbread crackers in the basket as well. 3/10 Fourth - We both got a cup of seafood bisque soup. This was a smooth and flavorful soup. Chunks of seafood of various types and a little shot of sherry on the side to pour on. (my 10 year AA medal pushed it away - smile) 9/10 My wife ordered a Pompano special with scallops and the chef special vegetables and green beans. This was very substantive entree and she did bring half of it home. The fish was nicely prepared and properly cooked, the vegetables were cooked al dente and not just something on the plate - good job. The green beans so nice as a vegetarian / vegan plant based eater I am going to order them as my entree! 9/10 I ordered a shrimp cocktail as part of my main. I haven't had shrimp in a few years, and these were fairly decent. the cocktail sauce was disappointing as I am a Kelchner's horseradish and Heinz Chili Sauce kind of guy.... pink from the 50/50 mixture. The sauce here was a restaurant pack can of catsup and a splash of tabasco. yech. 5/10 Also as my main an Arugula Salad with Roasted Beets, NO goat cheese, Almonds, Honey-Citrus Vinaigrette, Raspberry Coulis. A VERY nice salad with an extremely fresh and beautiful collection of arugula lettuce, and the roasted yellow and purple beets were nicely cooked and prepared. The dressing was light and tasty and not some gloppy oil slick of goo. 10/10 Finally, our server brought us out a little keylime pie to commemorate our occasion, we were actually pretty full from the dinner and declined dessert but she brought this out and we took a few pictures!!! VERY nice touch!!! Thank you. I think the kitchen has improved over the last three reviews and last three or so years. The reservation and front desk and the service is variable and inconsistent, still. The communications and reservation situation is flawed - a reservation is between two parties - if we agree on something the expectation is we BOTH deliver (I arrive on time and pay, and the establishment seats and accommodates as per the expectation) Both should expect what was agreed to? Obviously this is all personnel and seasonally dependent here in Venice, FL, now that we enter the slow and less tourist oriented I think the employees and the patrons will be less wired and unpredictable. I started with the pain pill cocktail - their version of a pain killer. It was really tasty. It came in a very tall glass with some cinnamon sprinkle. The pineapple was fresh. While I looked over the menu, she brought out some warm crusty rolls with salted butter. Yummmmm. I was famished so I dug in. They had so many things on the menu I was a bit in information overload. I started with the coconut shrimp, which they say is a house specialty. The dipping sauce was interesting - like a cold coconut milk? The shrimp were butterflied and lightly fried. There is four on the plate. Pretty good. For dinner, I had the fresh catch with mashed potatoes and the zucchini medley. The medley had zucchini. squash, onions and red bell pepper in it. They have other sides like sweet potato as well. You get your choice of two. The entree came with a side salad. It was a small portion. It had some sweet candied nuts on it, with some shredded mixed cheese and a side of their house French dressing. Some of the pieces of lettuce were really long so it was kinda messy to eat. The red snapper was my choice of fresh catch. I asked for it grilled but the other option is blackened. The fish was a good portion. About 6 to 8 ounces. The mashed potatoes were delicious. I enjoyed my meal and I was too stuffed for dessert. But I saw the bread pudding with ice cream at another table. Wow! The scoop of ice cream on that dish was huge! The key lime ice cream pie sounded interesting and I imagine they have a good tiramisu. Next time I'll get dessert. Service was stellar. I was not bothered but I was checked on often for another drink and water etc. plates were cleared often but did not distract me. I really enjoyed being outside because they had a one man band playing guitar and singing so wonderfully. It's a gorgeous setting outside. A bit warm, but I was gross from golf anyways. They do have quite a few fans but I'm glad I was away from them. I hate when I'm trying to eat and it's all I can do to keep my hair from blowing in my face and mouth from overzealous ceiling fans. Bathrooms are clean and well stocked. Parking is a private lot out front and I easily found a space. This place was recommended by a coworker. I am so glad I took her recommendation!

This was a hearty soup with chunks of white meat chicken and soft dumplings. Basically chicken dumpling soup as they say, vs potatoes cube soup. It is a must have.
