Uncooked potato and burnt gyro- crisp.

The potato is uncooked/ raw. And the gyro meat is hard, dry and old. It was delivered and I wonder if this is how the food always is? I am very disappointed. The broccoli is flavored well and a bit crispy. Rice is good. Sauce on the side which is good.

Rice Bowl chicken and falafel. Yellow rice, broccoli, corn, and white sauce.

Very convenient location. Friendly staff. Came for lunch around noon. No wait. They gave me fresh food. It tasted ok. I was unhappy with the falafel. It was cooked too hard and lacked flavor. Overall it was just ok.

Slim pickings for sides when they aren't serving what they advertise.

After eating here, I get why this place has fairly high reviews. What I don't understand is how this place operates itself. I came in on a Wednesday on May 24th at 3pm. They were out of a lot of things. Like 60% of what they offer. When the server offered me eggplant, there wasn't even any eggplant in the steamer! While some options I would not have ordered to begin with (like cauliflower), its annoying to think that so many items are out. Because I was nearby the area the next day, I went at 8pm and they still had 40% of stuff missing. I can understand that with a small staff that not every single item is going to be in full stock, I question whether this a management issue, or they don't care after lunch time? I ended up getting a gyro rice bowl. Lots of rice, a decent amount of meat, and skimpy amount of sides. With that said, the sides were delicious! The garlic sauce, spicy green sauce were great as well. They also offered a mango habanero, which was mango puree with specks of habanero. I appreciate the effort but the sauce could have been more harmonized in its heat. The gyro meat had plenty of savory flavor, but there wasn't much seasoning to it. The rice was good, but I thought it could have been a little more fragrant for my own taste. Overall, it satisfies and I ended up woofing it down after my workout with a smile on my face.

I ordered online because I was in the mood for gyro and rice. The portions are very generous, and they don't skimp out on the meet. I like my food spicy, so I will have to get more of the red sauce next time. Everything tasted fresh.

I went for the lunch and enjoyed! I order the chicken rice bowl with yellow rice, chicken, and three topping. I liked that the to-go box had a separate section for the toppings. I ordered the roasted broccoli which was well seasoned (may be salty for some). I'd probably make 2/3 of my selection the broccoli next time. I also had the house salad which was a mix of cucumber, tomato, and onion. Last, I had the couscous salad. It didn't have much flavor. It had chunks of bell pepper in it I believe. The server was really nice and made a great recommendation to mix the sauces! I did the white sauce with a little garlic and red spicy. The location was clean and aesthetically pleasing. I loved the succulent features on the tables. There's seating inside and outside.

I got the falafel rice bowl with onions and mushroom, chickpeas, and hummus. I was mostly impressed with how the onions and mushroom were sautéed and caramelized perfectly. Another thing I noticed was that the falafels were crunchy on the outside but easy to chew on in the side which made it much easier to eat and actually enjoy. Aside from any of the specifics, the meal was just absolutely mind-blowing delicious. Definitely the best halal food I've ever had, although very pricey.

Chicken rice bowl and some cute cacti decor.

I wouldn't even really compare this place to the Halal Guys because it's more than just your meat, rice, lettuce, and tomatoes. You have the option to get veggies and other toppings in addition to your choice of either the yellow or lentil rice. I picked chicken as my protein and then opted for brussel sprouts, red potatoes, and the onion/mushroom mix. I wish the brussel sprouts were actually roasted like the sign said they would be, but the other veggies added some good flavor and texture to my bowl. The white sauce really ties everything together, so don't hesitate to get it over the entire bowl. The employees were very sweet and asked me how if I enjoyed my meal at the end since they knew it was my first time. I told him about my brussel sprout dilemma and they were very receptive. I walked out of there having spent $9 and had 3/4 of my bowl leftover because it's a very filling meal. Oh and the decor is super cute with succulents on the tables and very clean white tables.

Got the yellow rice, falafel, roasted potatoes, chopped couscous salad, butter curry chickpea, pita, and white sauce with hot sauce as well. Not the best I've tasted if I eat them all together for some reason. It's better eating them on their own?? The falafel was a bit overcooked for me but everything else was okay.

What is great about this is that the initial room is great for placing your order, looking at the menu, chatting with the staff, paying, and waiting around for your food to come out. The next room over is great for finding a seat, relaxing, and eating without being jostled by people coming and going. Food was pretty good. I forgot to specify the bread wrap, so my sandwich was more like panini than a shawarma. My husband was less than enthralled. He wasn't a fan of the lamb mix, but that is to be expected as he didn't grow up with it and hasn't learned to acquire a taste for it. Staff are really friendly here. Food comes out quickly and remains hot on the way home.

Prior to driving there, I call the restaurant to ask if they could accommodate me -- and they said yes. I got the chicken ramen and subbed for katsu protein, shrimp tempura, karaage and milk tea and my friend got the black garlic ramen. The karaage came out tossed in a an acidic sauce with sesame seeds -- almost like saucy wings. This caught me off guard because the menu does not indicate it would be covered in sauce -- and we didnt want it sauced. Shrimp tempura had 3 shrimps and the rest vegetables. Another surprise because the menu listed shrimp tempura as an item on its own, and then another line item for vegetable tempura. My assumption is this is a cost saving approach -- and while I have no problem with that, transparency would be good for customers. Just list out what is included in the dish so no one is surprised. The ramen was disappointing. The broth came out clear (like water -- i wouldnt dare compare it to pho because pho broth is packed with flavor). There was absolutely no flavor. It was the only ramen on the menu that I could have (again not what I was told when I called). I asked for soy sauce, chili oil and even dumped the leftover sauce from my tempura into the liquid broth and still it could not be saved. The black garlic broth was also bland. Neither of us finished the meal. Service was slow, only one girl working the entire dining room, (it was a weekend so packed). We waited for a while, they forgot my milk tea and it was impossible to flag the waitress until the very end. The only plus, they are extremely generous with the eggs.

I've tried Abu Omar Halal in Orlando and now at two different Texas locations, including this one in Dallas--and the consistency is seriously impressive. Wrapped tight and no soggy mess. * Falafel - Crispy, golden outside with a light, herby interior. Afrah is THE place to be for Mediterranean food - before Greenville Ave became Arab central, before there was anyone, there was Afrah. A beautiful, airy restaurant with gorgeous seating, a bustling dessert case, ice cream center and so many treats to offer under one roof. Afrah is to the Muslim community in Richardson as a glove is to a hand. It truly is a one stop shop for all your nostalgic cravings, and it would be a grave injustice on my part if I didn't stop by here and sing praise to one of the most loved Mediterranean restaurants in the DFW area. We visited here recently for an iftar buffet experience and were very very happy with the food we got. The buffet line was running smoothly, from staff working diligently to hand everyone a tray with napkins, plates and cutlery already set for you. Waiters were going around the massive dining hall clearing plates, making sure everyone had what they needed, seating patrons and asking if everything tasted good. This establishment runs like a literal well oiled machine and I am so impressed. The food was as always out of this world. Carefully prepared menu that satisfies everyone's taste buds. A good selection of classic cold appetizers like the baba ghanoush, hummus, and variety of salads. Always including something unique for a typical Middle Eastern flare. Hot lentil soup available with bowls carefully placed in the vicinity. So many different types of kebabs and freshly made hot pita bread being replaced like clockwork. The buffet had many of my favorite classics like Shawarma meat, beef kebab, chicken kebab. Lamb, chicken stew, baked chicken, everything was present in abundance. They even had salmon which I deeply appreciated as a seafood lover. My only complaint is the food wasn't hot enough which can be annoying with a buffet that is serving so many people during a busy time like Ramadan. Everything tasted absolutely phenomenal and when I returned for dessert, I was greeted with six different types of sweets from all over the world. That's the thing about this place. There's always something for everybody. The dining hall was bustling with not just Muslim patrons, but also a lot of American white patrons who equally enjoy the food here as much as we do. Inclusions of dishes like shrimp pasta, fried fish, chocolate mousse, and other fan favorites is a humble nod to non-Arab customers who love to frequent this place as much as we do.
