I came here to hang out with a friend for dinner. We had ordered the gyro and chicken rice bowl with red and white sauce. Rice bowl- The chicken and gyro did not have any flavor. It was very bland. The other sides it came with weren't very appetizing. I tried to finish my bowl but I couldn't take more than a few bites because I didn't like the meats. Good service though and there is space to sit inside if it's a small party (3-4 people in a group). They have nice decorations inside which gives it a nice upscale feeling. read more

Wow. The portion is large and the food is delicious! I saw everyone raving about the fried eggplant, and it did not disappoint! I've never had eggplant like this before and I love it now. The most cleanest halal restaurant I've ever been to in town. I ordered the kofta bowl, loaded fries, rice putting, and hummus. Everything was great. I loved how the kofta was seasoned. The rice was cooked well too. I like that you get to pick your own sides to add to the rice bowl. All of the salads look really good too. I can't get over how clean this place was. Inside and out. This place has amazing and delicious food. I usually get the gyro and chicken meat with yellow rice, and I also get a lot of sides, like the potato wedges. My only concern though is that the portions got significantly smaller, and the price increased by a lot. I still love this place though! read more

My goodness this place was good. I was in Richardson for a training and the trainer had pita wraps and rice bowls delivered. I had the chicken pita with hummus. Really like this place!! If you're looking for quick and easy, but still fresh and wholesome food -- this is a great pick. I had the salad bowl, with gyro meat, and selected the eggplant, sauteed onions/mushrooms, and broccoli as my toppings. no regrets - it was really yummy! Like I said, it tasted fresh and wholesome but still satisfying and flavorful. good falafel too -- hot and crispy on the outside, while moist on the inside. They also offered us some complimentary rice pudding today at lunch - not sure if that's a standard offering or not, but it was a nice enjoyable sweet way to end a good meal! The food is really good and favorable, I would definitely try them again, I ordered the rice bowl with gyro and chicken paid $3.50 for extra gyro meat, was a little disappointed in the extra meat portion I received, however like I said earlier in my review the food was very good and tasteful, the one issue I did have were the side sauce of tzatziki sauce, now this was a major disappointment, the sauce was very good I order extra for 50 cents and the size and amount of sauce was worth about 15 cents, wasn't enough at all. read more

Watch out Halal Guys! I'd rather prefer Chopped over Halal Guys. This place is close to UTD and next to a boba place. Inside, the place is clean. I love the live succulents at the tables. Nice to have some freshness. Note: the place is a bit small so don't expect ample seating for large groups. You choose your protein, toppings and sauce. Simple enough. What I really liked is that you have a lot of toppings to choose! I got the chicken rice bowl with hummus, roasted potatoes and chickpeas. I wanted the roasted cauliflower but they had run out. Darn! You have a variety of sauces to choose from and you can choose multiple sauces. Overall, I really liked the food and just wish they didn't run out of roasted cauliflower. I missed the NYC 52nd street side cart chicken platter with white sauce that I used to get when I worked there back in the day. This place has done it right and even better. I got the chicken bowl with lentil rice. I like how they have different side choices for you to pick from. Food was fresh and delicious. Hummus was outstanding. This is a Mediterranean chipotle. I ordered a rice bowl with: yellow rice, chicken, kofta, potatoes, broccoli, falafel, spicy garbanzo and sauces: bbq, hot and white. Great selection of food and sauces. What they have in the store is actually what is more on the menu. Since halal guys there have been an outpouring of these types of places. I really liked the rice, chicken and falafel. The kofta is more of broken up pieces of kofta kabob but seasoned very well. If you go, get extra white and bbq sauce makes a huge difference. Great! Such a welcomed addition to DFW! Halal Guys was one of the first to bring Mediterranean bowl style to DFW (Austin had been ON it for awhile now). Sadly, HG is awful-- quality is very poor and sub par. Chopped Grill, however, has saved us from the lack of options. Fortunately, DFW has caught on, and there have been even more concepts of the like popping up around town. However, the chicken at Chopped is seriously the best chicken I've had at any of these grab n' go type Mediterranean places. Such a great location for great Mediterranean food! Great lunch and dinner option right across the back of UTD. Being a student, I am always up for any type of discount I can get. I visited around the time when they first opened and offered me a small discount. A big plus in my book! I really liked the "clean" taste they had compared to when I had halal guys. If you know what I mean. I don't feel as guilty eating here as I do at many other halal places. Everything was full of flavor and the staff was really nice too! Pretty good food. The shwarma is a mix of beef and lamb, which is unusual (or maybe I've just been spoiled haha). The baba ghanoush also has a nice smokey flavor. I found that mushrooms and onions I added to my rice bowl were excessively oily however. A little pricey, but I got 2 servings out of my $12 meal, so not bad! Chopped Halal girl just recently opened up very close to UTD campus. I would rate this place better then the new gyro guys that opened up in Plano. I liked how you have three options as your base, I chose the rice base. I liked that we had two options for the type of rice; three options for meat, and then three options as topping. The meat was delicious but the problem was in the toppings. Some toppings they have is worth choosing as your 1/3. For example my friend had gotten the hummus as part of his topping and they gave him a tablespoon amount. I had also gotten a side of falafel, and it took them a good 20-25 minutes to serve that. We wanted to eat that with our food so we just sat there with our food staring at us till they finally served us. But honestly the wait was worth it they were so fresh and crunchy on the outside and so flavorful and soft on the inside. I highly recommend getting them. So if you're ever by campus I highly recommend going. Their flavors are spot on. read more

I've been working my way through the Halal street food places in the North Dallas suburbs and I really enjoyed my bowl. The chicken and kofta had a subtle and pleasant flavor and I really enjoyed the variety of add ons. Having been burned (literally) with the hot sauce elsewhere, I had a mere dollop and found it to be spicy, but not so hot you'd only eat it on a dare. Will have to get more hot sauce next time. The seating area is pretty small, as is the overall floor plan of the dining area. If you live or work close by, I'd suggesting getting your wrap or entree to go as I did. read more

This place is the bomb after a hard asf day. Its a cute restaurant at Northside across from UTD. Very clean and tidy for how small it is. It's affordable and you get a variety of carbs, meats, veggies and sauces to choose from. The owners are super nice, and they also give you a stamp card. Their rice pudding and baklava is also so good as well as the mango lassi. You can tell the ingredients are really fresh too. Love me some Halal food. Located in a new shopping center close to UTD and many surrounding businesses in Plano/Richardson area. Great menu, selection, and prices. I ordered the chicken/kofta bowl with basmati spinach rice. I like how they have a large selection of sauces, vegetables, salads etc. in order to allow you to fully customize your bowl. So good! Great options for toppings, I like the spicy chickpeas. I wish it was a bigger place, It was quite crammed! The person sitting behind me was practically almost back to back I would also suggest more drink options, but it's not a big deal as I try to stick to water. My only tiny disappointment was that the red sauce was not hot maybe it was just that day. I drove 30 mins to get lunch here and I would def do it again, I'm gonna try the falafels next time! I like this place quite a bit. They are super fast and everything is tasty. There is not much seating inside. Not good for groups. There is some nice seating outside. Nice is in comfortable. And visually appealing. The tazikis sause is very salty and drying. Drink lots of water during and after eating here if you get taziki sause. Especially if you get extra taziki sauce. Which I would recommend because it is very tasty. read more
