I came on here to write a review (which I never do lol) but enjoyed myself so much that I just haaad to. However, the first review I read a customer named Erin M wrote such a nasty review that now instead of talking about what an amazing dinner we had (food and service 5 star... and I'm bi-coastal and have dined at the best)I think I would rather address the totally unconscious skin suit void of a soul Erin M. How how HOW can you come on here to review a restaurant and insult someone's voice? "So loud it was comical"...? Really? Criticizing someone's god given voice is despicable and you need to do some serious introspection. You had nothing to say about the servers service. You were pissed off because you "only" got 4 shrimp for 14 dollars. Hahahaaa Where, may I ask, do you regularly dine and how long has it been since you've been out to dinner? You should be ashamed of yourself hurting someone's feelings like that on purpose. It's like saying "I didn't like the service because the server had an accent, or brown skin, or .... shall I go on? Digggg Hence why I don't come on this app and write reviews about any of the fine places I've been. I can't stand reading such nastiness. Again... the way a person talks and the service they are providing (serving unappreciative ignorant uncompassionate people, such as yourself) are two different things. Do you realize that you are hiring a human being for a couple of hours for,, what?,, ten bucks or so,, to be your servant? Show some respect and remember to say please and thank you. I'm sure serving, especially folks like you, is an extremely difficult job. Anyway, my husband and I had a lovely dinner. My filet was cooked a perfect mid rare and my husband's scampi was fabulous. The service was wonderful and on point. Actually, I was surprised to find such a fine restaurant in the charming little town of Kingston. The price is fitting for the exceptional food and service. I can't wait to pass thru town again! PS If the server who had the unfortunate pleasure of serving Erin reads her review please don't give her insensitivity another thought. We approached a number of restaurants and bars about hosting an after-party for our wedding at the nearby Senate Garage in September, and after a few discussions decided to go with Chops. First, Denny the owner was extremely flexible and willing to go above and beyond to make the event a success. We settled on a very fair price that included a number of appetizers, including sliders, chicken fingers, cheese & fruit, fries, veggies, and a handful of other classics. Our guests loved absolutely everything, and Chops kept the food coming without any additional charges. The staff were working incredibly hard making a wide array of drinks (which were delicious and fairly priced), and were friendly and accommodating. Small suggestion: we wanted to play a video for our guests on the TV and use the restaurant sound system. Unfortunately, the sound system was too quiet to be heard over the chatter of guests. Recommend an upgrade! However, Chops still gets credit for their willingness to let us take over the AV system. Overall, I would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking to host a large group. Denny is a person of great integrity (he and the team found and returned a number of valuables that were left behind) and will go out of his way to provide a great experience. read more

One of our ABSOLUTE FAVORITES! Chops Grille in Uptown Kingston is a must visit restaurant. A great place for a big family gathering or cozy date night. We used to live within walking distance, and would go at least once a week. Some favorites are the Shrimp Cardinale and the pork wing appetizer. I recently had the salmon special on the 3 course prix fixe menu - it was cooked perfectly. And of course, every steak is excellent. We now live in Albany, and haven't found a single restaurant that compares with Chops' delicious and perfectly prepared steaks, burgers and entrees. We come back to the area for dinner as often as possible! Add this to your regular rotation, and if you haven't been yet - get to Chops Grille!!! read more

We checked out Chops, in hopes that kingston would finally have a real steakhouse- and it didn't disappoint! I got the 14 oz strip, which ended up being an amazing cut of beef, cooked to perfection. If you're looking for a steak dinner to fill you up for the day, this is the place! My husband got the One Eyed Jack burger, which was definitely one of the most original and flavorful burgers in kingston. The owner also gave us a complimentary rice pudding, his father's recipe, which was amazing- and I typically don't even like rice pudding! Had the BEST fish fry ever on Friday, August 19th while vacationing in the area! Taste and presentation were spot on! We had a great time at the bar before dining. So much fun we came back the next afternoon to hang our for awhile. Everyone was so friendly and the food we saw delivered to waiting diners looked as fabulous as what we were served the night before. If we had not dined at Woodstock that afternoon we would have definitely stayed for dinner. Please do yourself a favor and try Chops Grille!! Chops is hands down one of the best restaurants in the Kingston area. I went to visit a friend and we went there for dinner. The staff and owner are very welcoming, friendly, and accommodate their guests with any requests they have. We ordered a variety of food, I had the pasta, which was a very healthy portion size and delicious. My favorite though was the chefs special (Chef Frank's) Asian calamari as an appetizer. Hands down one of the best calamari's I've had. Not to mention a great drink list! Now, whenever I visit my friend, we will definitely be giving Chop's a visit for dinner. read more

Everything was great! My mom and I split the calamari special, plenty to share! LOVE that it's rings only!!! The sauce was great, not too spicy. We each got the special chicken, which was a coconut crusted chicken breast, with pineapple rice and carrots...AMAZING. When I saw the portion I didn't think I was going to be able to finish it..I left everything but a bite because I couldn't stop! The bartender, Steve, was great as well, I had a watermelon mule and my mom had a pineapple coconut martini, delicious! Definitely will be returning. read more

Chops Grille is the best steak and seafood restaurant in town. The food is outstanding, the service professional and prompt and the prices reasonable. Denni, the owner is gregarious and treats his customers like family. I frequently go there on Fridays when I am back in town. Lori is the bartender that night and she is second to none as a bartender in Kingston. I highly recommend Chops for those seeking a fine dining experience after a day skiing, hiking or taking in the sights and sounds of this historic and vibrant city! Enjoy! read more

Six of us had dinner here tonight. Two had burgers. Two fish and chips, and two had the cod plate. ALL of us were very happy with the food. My wife said it was the best cod she has ever had. I got the side salad with my "shroom" burger. It was served with a creamy dill dressing. The salad was as big as the half pound burger and delicious! Take a look at the pictures of th food on line. It all looked as good as the photos. The pork wings look really cool. We can't wait to go back! By the way, the service was excellent. read more

My fiancé and I are frequent flyers at Chops Grille. We were just there last night discussing the fact that we have never had a poor experience there. Most restaurants' quality can waiver, however Chops never disappoints! Their specials are always amazing, and the service is excellent. We feel as though this place is a hidden gem in the heart of Uptown Kingston. If you're on the fence about trying it, just do it! Reasonable prices and delicious food await. My family and I had a wonderful experience dining here in July. We had a large group of 30 plus and loved our dining experience. The owner, Denny made us all feel welcome. The chef, Frank provide a fabulous meal for all. The service was excellent as well. I look forward to dining at Chops Grille when we return to Kingston from Indiana in November. I went when they first opened and it was very good! They have lost their spark...drinks are extremely overpriced and subpar. Food was not cooked properly at all my burger was to the point of being burnt and my friends steak was very well done. All the sides you could tell had been left on a warmer until the main part of the entrée was done. Not worth the price...for a restaurant that calls itself Chops you would think they actually could cook them! read more

Our favorite restaurant bar none is Chops Grille in Kingston, NY. We always enjoy an incredible evening there. My wife swears by your Figenza Martini. Denni is a great host. The service staff is fantastic. Hat's off to Frank the chef who always prepares superb dishes presented beautifully. My wife has a Gluten Intolerance and Frank goes out of his way to accommodate her needs. Make sure you save room for the home made rice pudding. Oh What a Night! read more

I visited chops this past week with my family and the food was great! We had a decent sized group and ordered a variety of dishes, all of which came out excellent. The prix-fix menu offers three courses for a great price, I had French onion soup to start which was my personal favorite, a great chicken entrée and delicious Greek yogurt with fruit for dessert. Went to Chops last night ,started with the Baked Eggplant it melted in my mouth so so so delish,for dinner I had the Rack Of Lamb 8 Chops !,a potato Croquet,fresh vegtables the sauce on the lamb was a rosemary butter sauce that was amazing ,finished with a piece of HOMEMADE Cheesecake that was great can't wait to go back highly recommend. We discovered Chops while looking for a new place to eat in uptown Kingston. What a find!! The staff is just wonderful, the setting is relaxing, the chef original and creative. Best steak I've had in a long,long time...and I order steaks all over the country! Cooked to perfection! My wife's free range chicken was perfect! Rice pudding was one of a kind. We added salads for $4 and they were entree sized! Our total tab with drinks was less than a Franklin! Definitely a hidden gem in Uptown Kingston! read more
