If you haven't been to Christina's Restaurant in Kingston since the new owner, Amanda, took over in January 2026, you need to go right now! Amanda was the first face to greet us, and she is so sweet and welcoming. The restaurant has such a great, friendly vibe. Bonus points for the spacious parking, which makes getting in and out completely stress-free. The food highlights: The Bread Basket: Not your average starter! It comes with bread, pita, and an amazing hummus that rivals my own mother's. Plus, fried dough that my daughter polished off instantly. Burrata Board: Super unique, fun presentation, and totally delicious. Main Courses & Kids: The kids sliders and fries were a massive hit with my daughter. My chicken and eggplant over pasta was phenomenal and tasted so fresh. Dessert: The chocolate lava cake was the perfect, rich ending to a great dinner. We left totally full, happy, and leftovers for tomorrow from the generous portions. It is a complete turnaround from how it used to be under the old owners. It's Veterans Day and we are out with friends for dinner. First I am very disappointed that they don't do anything special for the veterans, not even a free drink or dessert. Our server was also very slow, it took so long just to get some beers and sodas to the table. Actually the service was not great at all even though she was nice. It was just so slow. Let me take you through our evening. First apps. The presentation of the Burrata board was great! I was so excited to try everything. Most of It was good but the meat felt dried out and the Burrata was lumpy. I know it's not supposed to be like that. If you've been to Italy...you know what it's supposed to be like. The calamari perfect . It was moist, not rubbery and fried nicely. I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs because that's usually how I test out a new Italian restaurant. The sauce is okay, plenty of spaghetti and three meatballs. The meatballs are moist and soft. One of the meatballs was salty but the others were ok. Two at the table ordered the chicken francaise. The lemon flavor was very light and the cutlets were thick. I personally like thicker cutlets but I know they preferred thinner, crispier cuts. You know what you like so just know that. The fourth guest did not say too much about their chicken dinner with rice but it looked good to me and it was a big portion. I tried a small bite but I honestly can't remember if I liked it. I guess it didn't leave a great impression. Lastly desserts. I had the crème brûlée. It was a larger portion than I expected and delicious. The cheesecake was also good. I liked the denser texture in the cheesecake...no soft cheesecake for me! Unfortunately my husband's favorite, Tiramisu was a disappointment. He kept saying that the lady fingers tasted like slabs of cake. I personally don't like any Tiramisu flavors so I can't say. I would probably not come back here. Food .... Turkey dinner tasted like it was reheated leftovers. Served barely warm and extremely bland. Service .... Absolutely abysmal! We had 2 menus for 4 people. Waited a long time before the waitress took our drink order. The order was screwed up. We had to remind her 3 TIMES that I ordered a cappuccino. The cappuccino I ordered was strong coffee served with 3 little creamers. I got the feeling the waitress doesn't have a clue what cappuccino is. She also didn't bring or offer any bread which we noticed other patrons getting. She did offer to give us some bread to take with us as we were leaving but, only after we told her she didn't bring the bread. She screwed up the salad and soup order. The soup was also barely warm. Shortly after we finished our soups and salads the waitress came to us and offered her apologies for not being able to bring the Pasta Fagioli because there was none left. ..... Ooops, wrong table. We ordered our deserts to go and she brought them to serve there. Ambiance .... A beautiful building to eat in ... If the food is edible which it barely is. In place of music patrons are entertained by constant dropping of dishes, glassware and loud voices. Four of us went there for a Thanksgiving Dinner .... Hosted a dinner for 20 at Christina's for my Mom's 90th birthday. Private room. Delicious food. Not exactly inexpensive but more reasonable than a lot of other places in the area. My husband and I went to CHRISTINA'S the other day for dinner. The restaurant was quiet and clean. Wait staff were attentive and friendly. We had lasagna and chicken piccata. The food was solidly good and cooked perfectly. My cup of pasta fagioli was tasty and I really enjoyed it. I would go back and try other dishes for sure. If you are in that area and want a nice relaxing dinner... it sure beats the other options. They also have pet friendly outdoor seating. read more

Very nice Italian restaurant with an extensive menu. We were a party of 7 and the server did a great job keeping drinks fresh and any issues resolved (e.g., missing napkin). The food was quite good -- what one would expect from an upper-tier Italian restaurant. Missing, perhaps, was a wider selection of seafood. Italian does not mean just pasta. I would have liked to see some interesting fish (the special was red snapper and sold out) or other Mediterranean dishes for one with a more piscivorous appetite. Offerings such as Zuppa di Pesce, Gamberi alla Busara, or a Baccala variant would have given the menu a more interesting flavor. While I had clams with Linguini this takes little imagination and in this particular case was not exceptional. Overall, a pleasant experience but if you want a less Americanized version of cuisine you'll have to drive back down to Little Italy I'm afraid. This is too bad because the CIA (Culinary Institute of America) is literally a 30 minute drive away. Regrettably, the menu's lack of some iconic Italian dishes reflects simple economics...Americans tend to eschew trying dishes they can't pronounce! read more

The food was a 7 out of 10. The prices are high, and the portions are small. The staff was ok and there were a lot of employees, they all seemed a little lost. The place was very pretty and comfortable, we ate outside which was nice. My food came cold, and my server got lost. I can't believe it has been here so long and you would think they would get it right, but no. There are so many restaurants in the area. the bill for the four of us was $150 no liquor. read more

I have been meaning to write this for a while now. Christina's is amazing and one of the best Italian restaurants in this area. Many new places are coming into Kingston but please don't forget the ones that are here. Christina's has been here for 30 years! Our favorites: Eggplant Rollatini: my measure of a good Italian restaurant and you can't go wrong. Thinly sliced eggplant, ricotta filling, light sauce. It would only be better with a slice of prosciutto. I order it every time. Veal Marsala: lovely Marsala sauce, mushrooms and a beautiful cut of veal. No breading or heavy gloppy sauce. Beef and Pork Bolognese: this is my favorite. The meat is cooked so long it melts in your mouth, in a wonderful carrot and tomato sauce that is light. Sometimes it tastes a little different but it's still excellent. And it's at least 3 meals. Fettuccini Alfredo: it is so good and I can only eat a small portion at a time. Super rich sauce, the pasta is beyond good. Sometimes we skip what sounds ordinary but don't skip this. We order delivery; can only assume it is more amazing in person. read more

We were in town for an event, and happened upon Christina's so we decided to try it! Nicole was our server and sat us right away. She was so friendly, welcoming, and helpful. we decided to order a few things off of the Happy Hour menu. the Burrata Board was soooo impressive, and we also loved the meatball flight. we ended with a French martini which was fantastic! the prices were great, the food was excellent, but the highlight was Nicole and her excellent service. We came here as a group of 5 and had a great dinner. We got a couple of the specials including a lobster and shrimp risotto. We also got the friend calamari, amaretto shrimp, chicken parm with marinara, pasta with vodka sauce and clams. Everything was delicious and our waiter was also really nice. Portions were huge and great for sharing. The clam chowder was yummy and the salad was pretty good too for the dinner sets. The only thing that was not good was the tiramisu - there was no mascarpone cheese and it just tasted like yellow sponge cake with chocolate powder and cinnamon. I'd come back :) read more

Christina's never disappoints. The service and the food is always amazing. We made reservations for 6 PM FIR 4 people. We were seated right away and our waitress took our drink orders. Drinks were slightly slow in coming but she was busy. We were able to talk a little before she took our orders. I ordered a salad, chicken parmigiana and panne pasta with extra sauce. My husband had soup, and lasagna. My friend had soup and chicken francaise and her husband had soup and chicken Marsala. All meals were perfect and so much that 3 of us took a doggie bag home. They didn't rush us out and we enjoyed our friends and our conversations. Always a pleasure to go there. read more

Our traditional Valentines dinner spot. I was so disappointed this year. 2023. Their service is fine, they are welcoming, very competent. I don't know who or where the chef was but everything we ordered was tough and overcooked, not usually the case. We love the amaretto shrimp but they were tough and the bread was hard. My sliced steak was not rare as ordered but medium and tough. Salads were bland but nicely chilled. The veal francaise should have been so tender but was served with a steak knife-it was needed. Was with another family during pandemic on a ski trip to Hunter Mountain, drove 20 mins from our hotel because they had a great Yelp rating. Good service, great food, friendly manager! Felt like being at her house. Zeppoles in the initial bread basket was awesome! Pretty pricey though, party of 7 of which 3 were teenage girls, total bill with 18% tip was $262. Good thing we don't eat there everyday huh? But happy to support the restaurants during covid. read more

We've been here a few times, but for some reason I have not yet written a review. We were there on Sunday for dinner, and once again we had a wonderful meal. They have specials all day on Sunday, and that was one of the reasons we decided to stop by for dinner on our way back from Albany. Not only are the specials a great value for the money, but the food is amazing. From the home-made hummus to the soup, salad (tossed tableside with blue cheese crumbles!), entrée, dessert and coffee - everything was top notch. Service was excellent - and with a smile - which makes a HUGE difference. I had the meatloaf roulade, and I was a bit skeptical because I tend to be very picky when it comes to meatloaf. It was great! The mushrooms and the brown gravy really made it perfect. Potatoes and veggies were good as well. My love had the chicken with mushroom risotto - and he was very happy with it. (I tasted it, and I thought it was an excellent version of risotto!) We decided on the chocolate mousse for dessert, and it was perfectly light, creamy and chocolatey. Coffee was also very good! Portions are large, so we both had enough leftovers for another meal - which was very nice. We really need to come here more often! read more

Our family was visiting the Hudson River Valley to escape the Florida heat and we came to this local spot after combing through some reviews. We are now HUGE fans of this local gem, all of us! (My 8 year old daughter even added this to "favorite restaurants" list. The service was incredible (Jen was our server) and food was delicious. My wife and I went to Christina's for our 30th wedding anniversary yesterday, and let me tell you , it was FANTASTIC! The restaurant was beautiful, the service was great, and the food was AMAZING. I am saddened to have to give this restaurant such a low rating, however, management caused this to occur. We were seated quickly on Halloween at 6pm. We were seated at a booth near a window with a white curtain. The lights were dimmed and it all seemed good. Our waitress Taylor was super sweet. She took our drink order and returned with a bread basket that included pita slices, mini zeppoli's, bread slices, butter, and hummus. She then took our order and went to get our salads. As we began to eat, we noticed a couple of gnats. We weren't too bothered as we shooed them away. However, when our broiled Tilapia, and Chicken Cordon Bleu arrived, the gnats became out of control. Although the food was delicious and very tasty, we were unable to truly enjoy it. When Taylor came over to ask if we wanted dessert, she witnessed about 30 gnats flying around us and on the curtain. When she went and reported it to management, they did absolutely nothing to rectify this situation. They did not even offer to discount the meal or spray the area. This is the second time eating at Christina's and second time disappointed. Came without reservations on Sunday around dinner time. Place was empty although there were several tables with patrons. Service is friendly and attentive, and portions a nice size. Thats where it ends. Food is only mediocre. We began with a bread basket with garlic knots and a plate of humus which were good. We ordered fried calamari as an appetizer which was greasy. Our two mains were shared, eggplant rollatini smothered in mozzarella that you had no idea what you were eating and pasta bolognese which was just ok. I would think if you don't finish your dishes and don't ask to take home the leftovers they might think about questioning. Outside the place has a nice garden, inside its stuck in a time warp of the 80's dark and leathery. read more

Was in the Kingston area today and heard good things about Christina's. What a great dining experience from the friendly wait staff, and tasteful decor to the huge portions. The bread basket had 3 different types of delicious breads with some kind of garlic spread for dipping. My entree was the penne bolognese and it was delicious. Entrees come with soup or salad. My boyfriend took me to this restaurant for our 11month anniversary and it was perfect. Atmosphere- This is a very chill and cozy restaurant for any occasion, family dinner, date, breakup date, you name it. Dim-ish lighting and happy hungry conversations. Wonderful service. Appetizers- Automatically you are welcomed with regular Italian bread and pita bread accompanied with butter and delicious homemade humus. We ate it all in 5mins. We ordered fried calamari as our started and they were so juicy. Huge portion as well. Entree- I ordered the Italian Lover's Trio ($23) which included Linguini Alfredo, Chicken Parm, and Homemade Lasagna. This included a side of soup or salad. I chose the French Onion soup which was truly the star of the night. My boyfriend ordered the Surf and Turf ($28) which included steak, THREE shrimp, and mashed potatoes. This was so delicious and juicy but only 3 shrimp? Wish it had at least one more. This also included soup. He got the tortellini soup which was eh. I got so full from the apps, bread and soup that I took my entire entree to go. It was delicious though. Dessert- We got the Tiramisu. Delicious. Worth it. Big portion so we shared one. We came here to have Thanksgiving dinner and I must it was a nice dinner. We had the mozzarella sticks and fresh mozzarella for appetizers. The sangria my sister ordered was not good; she had to return it. For entrees we had the lasagna, Italians lovers trio and the shrimp scampi. The lasagna was not to my liking it had too much sauce and it was overly seasoned. The Italians trio was perfect and I enjoyed it very much. My dish the shrimp scampi was very good. They have a good amount of shrimp and the angle hair pasta was cooked perfectly. The portions are really big and you can easily order one dish to share. We had leftovers for two days because we ordered too much food. I had the turkey cream soup and I liked it very much. Our server was nice but she very busy; she did answer all our questions but there were times when our table was full of dirty dishes. I am not sure if I would be back to be honest. I give it four stars because it was open on Thanksgiving and overall it was a good experience. We just came for the holiday and were happy to find an open restaurant. read more

I had an early dinner there on Monday. I had a nice big bowl of The pasta fazool. it was always one of my favorites and every bit as good as I remember it from almost 20 years ago. next was The calamari. I eat calamari every time I go out to dinner if they have it. this was great. Cook perfectly lightly seasoned with a nice marinara sauce. perfect. my entree was a sliced steak special. it was cooked perfectly, and had a blue cheese cream sauce on it. one of the nicest meals I've had out in a long time, and I was in the restaurant business for decades. I tried to get back there today so I could have the steak special again, it was that good. like I said, one of the best meals I've had out in a long time. can't wait to go back. read more

Was looking for a spot to have lunch while I was waiting for my annual auto inspection and came across Christina's. I rang and out of sheer luck they happened to be open for a private party - friendly woman on the phone said come on down. When I arrived I was immediately greeted by the woman behind the phone and was escorted to a table with a nice window. Awesome classic Italian menu and I opted to "build my own" entree - fettuccine with pesto adding shrimp. Came with a house salad topped with a healthy sprinkle of bleu cheese and a super yummy herbal red wine vinaigrette. Bread basket arrived with hummus, butter, baguette, pita and zeppole! We found Christina's on our way home to Brooklyn from Lake George. We wanted to breakup the ride with lunch at a nice restaurant. Christina's was more than we hoped for. Great food - my husband had French Onion Soup and we shared the Amaretto Shrimp appetizer (delicious) and we split a turkey club with fries. (The fries were fabulous!!!). Service was so friendly - we arrived about 20 minutes before they opened but we're greeted graciously and seated quickly. Very nice outdoor area, but indoor dining is available. If we ever get back to Kingston, we'll surely visit Christina's again. read more
